we went on Saturday for a friend's 60th birthday there was 13 of us the food and service was really good.we took a cake and asked if we could have some plates to put the cake on for everyone to have a slice but when we got our bills at the end we was all charged £1 each for the plates I think this is disgusting I've never been charged for this in any other restaurant.

Lovely food. Me and 3 other diners had the Oven Baked Crepe starter which is delicious. Do try the home made cheesecakes. You wont be disappointed. Very good priced too. Kind staff.

Absolutely wonderful Italian food. Caring friendly staff who don't intrude into the atmosphere. Not too expensive for some of the best food we have enjoyed for a long time. Visited in October 2022 and January 2023 followed by February and lste July 2024. Good varied menu backed by specials board. There isn't a local pub or bar handy. Plenty of free on street carparking just outside the stepped access also has small car park to rear. Opposite Batley Town Hall.

The food was absolute perfection 🤌🏻 very clean. Fast service and an adorable waitress. This is a hidden gem 💎 real authentic Italian food 🇮🇹

Very expensive for what you got and it was cold will not order again for the expense was going to split between 2 but not enough for even one person

Visited with a group of friends, overall ok, but lacked an authentic Italian atmosphere.

I was very disappointed with both meals very tasteless and bland and the chips was a very poor size for the price I am not a happy customer it was quite expensive for not to have much flavour 😕 😢

We ordered a steak for 3 people was disgusted at size of the portion on the plate,it came with small rice no pepporcorn sauce,veg etc. but we did ask for this they charged up £ 21.95 for this meal also garlic butter that we never asked for i got the bill spoke to manager who attitude was awful not helpful didnt even apologise for over charging us wont go again.

Delicious as usual. Robertos is always my first choice for pizza as it is always freshly cooked to order and delivered quickly

Based on my visit would not return ..Pizza didn't seem made fresh ,tiramisu was just a cup of whipped cream ..drinks expensive and little atmosphere ,service hit and miss .and £10 credit card limit ..

Superb food at a very reasonable price, this is not a cheap restaurant but neither is it expensive. But considering the quality of the food and the excellent service it's cheap at half the price.

Lovely friendly staff and delicious food.

SLOW,very very slow to say the place was not busy at all. Having said that there were only 2 ladies looking after the whole restaurant and the bar plus the bar area and cleaning.

The main meal ordered was salmon pasta but they sent the chicken and pesto salmon instead - we didn’t order that , luckily my wife was ok with it but not good for first ever order

7 of us dined here..one of our party couldn't eat their carbanara as it tasted funny..another didn't eat all their chicken as it tasted fishy.

We decided to go to Roberto's as a family as we had never been before and we love Italian cuisine, and had heard good things. NOPE! Not good! Waited for someone to 'turn up' in the bar area to seat us, even though we had booked! The place had cold air-con going full blast in January! OK food: Garlic mushrooms- raw garlic and watery sauce Seafood spaghetti- plenty of seafood but not well prepared I.e dirty prawns and broken mussels. (They didn't seem to understand the significance of this) again in a watery tasteless sauce. Chicken Cacciatora. -( same sauce as above) How you make chicken that dry is beyond me. The wait between starters and mains was insane. No staff available to complain to. All they wanted to do was satisfy 'Just Eat' orders. Loads of taxi drivers sat in the bar waiting. After having to stand up with our coats on to get the bill we were met with much hostility. If you think about going here, do yourself a favour and go half a mile down the road to Zucchinis. Better welcome, bettersurroundings, Better service. BETTER FOOD

Great restaurant hidden in Batley centre where the old post office used to be, lovely attentive staff and food full of flavour, definitely worth a visit.

First time I remember enjoying a pizza so much that I ate the entire crust too! Loved it. Thank you 🙂

Roberto's is my favourite restaurant. I remember visiting when I was 10 years old in Dewsbury, and have visited several times over the years for anniversaries and birthdays. The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food is perfect every time and authentic. The prices are fair and decent. The venue itself is lovely. As a family run business it is nice to see familiar faces each time we visit. Honestly, highly recommended gem in the centre of Batley with free parking on an evening.

Meat feast pizza had barely any topping on and cold. Lasagne was cold. Smallest portion of chips I've ever seen and cheesecake in same bag as all hot food 😡not ordered before and won't order again

food arrived cold! restaurant say the food goes out warm. delivery only took ten minutes. you can't charge restaurant prices and send food out cold.

Ordered delivery spent a fortune Xmas treat, lasagne like mushy babyfood, didn't eat it, kids had carbonara they couldn't eat it. Said it was tastless and mushy. I can't believe a restaurant like Roberto's found it acceptable to send food out like that.

Ordered takeout pizza for tea first time .. telephone service was good, everything read back on what had been ordered. Food ready on pick up .. Absolutely delicious... Will definitely order again. Pizza was perfect, the pizza base was spot on, nice, thin & crispy. Just what I asked for ..

We have eaten here many times but it seems to have gone downhill. We were left in the bar for half an hour before being shown to a table the another 15 minutes before our order was taken. The food was good when it eventually arrived but with such poor service we may not return.

Visited Roberto's last night with my work colleagues, and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and fresh. Staff really friendly. Will definitely be back. 5⭐

Went for the pizza pasta deal (£7.45 each eat in) with friend and our kids. Lovely homely atmosphere, great food, chef chatted at every table, waiting staff so cheerful. A bargain evening especially great to know they're still there these days! We'll certainly go again!

First time my friend and our children had been here we were greeted straight away and shown to our table. The food was amazing and the young ladies kept checking everything was OK not only that but the chef came out and engaged with ever table he'd cooked for and made sure again everything was to everyone's liking. The offers are amazing the service superb I have recomeneded and we will definitely go back again.

The food was cold when i received it. Also I couldn't understand the delivery driver and what he was saying. Once i reheated the meal it was passable to eat. Not the usual standard.

Don't often say this but the steak was amazing, the place is out of our way home wise but will defo come back again! Chef knows how to cook!

Food was so good best authentic pizza fresh chips not frozen and the freshest side salad on a Tuesday too this is unheard of I just wanted the olives like I used to have in the restaurant bar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thanks guys

Roberto's has lost its soul,I went when it was in Dewsbury and was a totally different place, it had a friendly happy vibe, the premises in Batley felt cold and uninviting, miserable staff and the experience was made worse by just eat drivers coming in with their big red bags. Didnt enjoy the big tv playing (Whats happened to background music) or the bright lighting. The portions were small also. wont be going back im afraid.

One of the best Italian restaurants there is and I've been to a few. This place is all about the food, no gimmicks, no designer decor, no snobiness. Just honest to god amazing Italian food.

Absolutely disgusting service and food. We were left for an hour at the bar and when we were asked to be seated the waitress said, “oh sorry I thought you were chatting” we knew this was a lie and when we made a complaint the chef came out to apologise because it was his fault. There was only “one chef” in the kitchen. This was also a lie. The chef showed us pictures of the ceiling collapsing from the bad rain from the night before. Surly they should have shut the kitchen!!! They gave us complimentary glasses of wine which then accumulated fruit flies in them!! My food was mediocre and my friend’s muscles was uncooked and had to be spat out. The manager did not give us anything complimentary/take anything off the bill for this horrible service and food. DO NOT EAT HERE.

How disappointing. Our table was at 7.30 and they left us at the bar for an hour. Once we asked if we could be seated the waitress said “oh sorry I thought you were chatting” how bizarre we thought. When we finally got our starters an hour and a half after we got to the restaurant, the tiniest portion of calamari came out. The chef came out to apologise as he said it was his fault we were seated late, as there was only one chef in the kitchen. Food was really great, loved the extra garlic on the pizza. One complaint is the amount of polysterene and plasic being used, this should really not be the case anymore. There's a ton of alternatives available and a lot of restaurants already use these. Please look at adapting to a more sustainable form of packaging.

I ordered 12in margarita pizza. Lovely pizza sauce not too pungent as to not take over the flavour of the cheese the pizza base was also seasoned right and cooked to thin and crispy(resembled stone baked). Fair price for good quality pizza made with fresh real ingredients.

Bolognaise was more spaghetti with a little dump of bolognaise on the top. Food was bland with no seasoning,garlic bread was overcooked. Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the garlic mushrooms were ok

Lovely, throwback restaurant, with great accommodating staff. The seating arrangements are brilliant with tables for any size party. The food is excellent with a variety of dishes n desserts mmm..only snag portion sizes a little small. Overall lovely restaurant.

Honestly wouldn’t waste your money the chicken with white wine and Mushroom sauce was cold and was like water the only edible and nice thing was the roast potatoes definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

Portion size is very poor for the prices you are paying, but the quality is good, which does sort of make up for it.

I ordered for delivery for the first time today i have never been in to the restaurant before. It was very expensive and not at all worth it. The Melon was in a polystyrene box so of course there was melon juice everywhere when it arrived, yet the chocolate cake was in a plastic tub so odd about the melon. The pizza was covered in way too much oregano. Waste of £25.

Always, always excellent food and service even when they are very busy. Continues to provide a varied menu with great service and food. Money well spent! Been a customer for over 30yrs from when they were in Dewsbury... I am always drawn to Roberto's sometimes for a full dining experience celebrating a personal event or just for a mid-week evening meal. Roberto's never disappoints the food is always good and the service is second to none. Maria always provides top level service. Well done to everyone.

Really nice food at an affordable price. The set menu is good value. The waitresses were attentive and patient. We came as an extended family and all agreed we would return.

Sadly out of touch and very poor pizza. Expensive and small portions. Looks like the owners lost interest and it just lacks taste. Decor very dated. Me and the kids were very dissapointed with the pizza, was soggy and looked like a 9 year old had made it. Also has a fish course which had tiny portions and pretty bland. Actually bland and lifeless is how I would describe it. I eat at many Italian Eateries and I'm familiar with the cuisine.. Get a chef with modern thinking to attract a younger crowd and spend some money updating the place. Owners take not, its only a matter of time, before your customer base will dwindle. A shadow of its former self, when it was in Dewsbury! And I was a customer then!

Went on a Sunday evening for a starter and main, the restaurant was not so busy. The mushrooms in garlic source were very tasty while the venison main course was perfectly cooked. The meat simply melted in your mouth while the red wine sauce complemented it perfectly. The service was attemtive and engaging.

An absolute favourite for our family. The children love the garlic breads, pizzas and pastas. Staff are always friendly and cant do enough for you. Nowhere else comes close to this Italian in our area!

Perhaps we visited on a bad night? it was fairly early though-only 6pm on a Saturday. Haven’t been here before and we’re really keen to support independent places. Late Mother’s Day meal. Am very disappointed. The restaurant was quite cold, despite being half full. The staff were all harassed and seemed a bit clueless/possibly new? It was as though they are lacking a senior person to coordinate. It was constant chaos behind the bar/till area throughout, which I was facing, and found quite unpleasant to witness. The specials menu was handwritten. I asked the waitress what one of the words was, and she said she didn’t know as she is new. I had to ask her if it was possible she could go away and find out. She did, but it took her ten minutes. The starter and main were tasty but very small. One pasta main was particularly tiny, despite costing £18. We ordered tiramisu which let’s face it, you can’t get wrong. But they proved me wrong. It was a cup of cheap whipped cream with one sponge finger in it. And it hadn’t even been soaked in anything, so was utterly tasteless. I pointed this out to a member of staff and they took it away. But there was no apology or acknowledgement. I know times are hard and they will have higher overheads. But I saw them sprinkling sugar onto crème brûlées, and then knocking the excess off and saving it in a Tupperware container! Dread to think what they do with it. When they brought the Parmesan round they served it with the tiniest spoon ever. And when I asked for “lots of black pepper”, I was given three grinds! I hate publicly slating places, but they really need to do better if they want to gain/retain customers. Times are hard for us all at the moment. I’m annoyed at having spent £70 on a small meal with poor service. I could have gone to a chain or the supermarket instead and got a lot more for my money. But I don’t want to have to do that. And whilst I appreciate they may face rising costs, so are the public. I can only afford to go out once a month, and it’s experiences like this that make me tempted to go to M&S and stay at home instead. If they want to survive, they need to make some serious improvements. They’d save some money by turning some of the flood lights off inside the restaurant. It might improve the atmosphere a bit too.

A small family get-together and birthday celebration enjoyed by all in a cosy & intimate venue. The staff were attentive, interested & enthusiastic. They helped make the evening. Will come back without the kids to feel even more looked after I the future. Great, easy going restaurant. You will feel more relaxed leaving than you did entering.

We have been coming here for years as its a nice quiet restaurant with great staff, lovely food and they also have great kids menu. I mentioned to the staff that it was my daughters 7th birthday and they popped a candle in her dessert that made her day. This is our go to restaurant as we have never had a bad experience and we always leave satisfied.
