Hands down the best Roast meats Hong Kong style in the north of England, the little beauty is hidden away in Preston, Lancashire. The roast is done daily and is the best tasting duck and belly pork I’ve eaten in a long time. The belly pork is so crispy that if you have any leftover and take home, should you microwave it to reheat ( oven reheating is best) it is still crispy, doesn’t go soggy like majority of belly pork from restaurants all over the uk. The duck has authentic marinade that makes it mouth watering, they serve many HK delicacies that you can try, ranging from inards to fresh vegetables… the menu is great, the place is more like a cafe and has limited seating, they are constantly full all day everyday so advance booking is recommended. You know is good food when orientals done there, I kid you not, everyone eats there…. I travel 90 minutes by car just to sample the goods…. Definitely worth the drive even if motorways close and force you to detour to get home… amazing place, run by amazing couple… so kind and generous….. this is in my top 5 places to eat within the uk… big thumbs up

We had the most amazing lunch at Roasta, by far the most DELICIOUS, authentic Chinese food we've ever had. We ordered trio of roast meats - Duck, Char Sui and Siu Yuk pork. Roasted to perfection and full of flavour. That crispy crackling on the Siu Yuk is heavenly. Even though we thought the meats would be the star of the show, the sides were just as good, if not even more delicious. Beautiful handmade noodles in flavoursome broth - simple but so moorish. Green beans stir fried with mince pork and preserved olives - I honestly would go back JUST for a plate of this! Finally, Tofu with spiced black bean sauce - mouthwatering! Very generous portion sizes, reasonably priced for the quality of the food We had to take some home because we couldn't finish it all and we can EAT I already can't wait to return and bring our friends who we know will love it too. PLUS, to top off the AMAZING food the service was so friendly and welcoming - thank you!

Inspired by Jay Rayner's glowing review , we popped in for lunch and weren't disappointed. Really delicious pork and duck , fried green beans and homemade noodles. The lovely lady who served us was very helpful and informative and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Very simply decorated and unlicensed but a great place to go for some of the best Chinese food we've ever had.

We called in for lunch on Saturday. The food was delicious. We had duck & pork belly and spicy lamb dish. This was with sides of egg fried rice and homemade noodles. You must visit this place you will not be disappointed. We will be back soon.

The menu had a good selection of dishes - the food was fantastic and excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and hospitable.

The best authentic chinese restaurant in Preston with the best chinese roasties! Crispy chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Trio of roasties is delicious crispy pork, roast duck and char siu tasted just like in HK so highly recommended. Dan dan noodles and the malay fried rice was nice. Fried tofu in blackbean sauce was also yummy. Braised beef is also recommended, very tender. The customer service is amazing. Family run business, friendly and polite. This is a gem in Preston and I would recommend this place.

The food was amazing with a wide variety of authentic Hong Kong style roast meats. That, coupled with a traditional iced ying yang drink (coffee and tea mix) brought me back warm memories of home and it’s exactly what’s needed on a cold dark winter night. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and I’ve enjoyed our lovely little chat. This place is truly a hidden gem, and I shall revisit again whenever I travel up north.

Probably the best mos succulent roast duck I've ever eaten and absolutely delicious roast belly pork with crispy skin. Takeout last night was fabulous with friendly fast service. Something different and light years away from so much of the average (and often below average) chinese food on offer in Preston. They clearly benefit from limiting the menu and focusing on what they do so well. We couldn't believe how much flavour was packed in. Duo of meat sharing platter and crispy hong kong chicken were superb (and very generous portions). The fried rice was again, subtly different and absolutely delicious. Sauces provided were excellent. We will be regulars from now own. Note: restaurant is cash only (fortunately there's a cashpoint across the road)

Had a takeout from here a few times with the family and I can honestly say this is probably one of the most authentic Cantonese places I have eaten at, the food is delicious and the duck is so tender I will most definitely be returning

I can’t believe this place has been open for 2 years and I didn’t even know about it. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the duck with noodles and salt and pepper chicken. The duck was cooked perfectly and was so tasty. I would have liked bigger pieces of chicken but the flavour was lovely. The staff were really friendly as well. I would highly recommend this place and I will be ordering again soon.

Been past here loads of times and it's as lways busy. Tried on our way for Xmas shopping and had an absolutely brilliant couple of meals including a gorgeous noodle soup. Great service and inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Roasta was recommended by a work colleague. Went in on a cold lunchtime and was greeted warmly by the staff. I had a mix of char siu and duck with homemade noodles while broth while my dining partner had chicken with rice. Amazing portion size, fabulous flavours and friendly service. What's not to like?Oh, and the price. You can see the portions, with drinks it came to £20 for two - fantastic value for money.

This is mainly a roasted meat restaurant. There are a couple of stirfry tofu options. I went for the tofu in fermented black bean sauce. Whilst different, the dish was simply big pieces of tofu in a dry aged black bean sauce. There were no onions, peppers or other ingredients to give it variety. I couldn’t finish it. I wouldn’t want to eat it again and it was expensive at £8.00. However, I have a few meat eating friends who have rated it very highly. It’s a fairly basic place in Plungington, mainly serving to a Chinese clientele.

We were actually heading for the vegetarian Indian a few doors ago, which turned out to be closed. We noticed this little place with great smells coming from it and full of Chinese customers and went in. We ordered 3 types of roast meat, fried tofu and broccoli in garlic. Everything was superb - fresh tasting and very comforting - some of the best Chinese food I've ever had - including in China and various Chinatowns. Plus really good value and very smiley and enthusiastic service. Clearly building a reputation for itself.

I had been recommend Roasta by a friend so I visited to see why he was so excited about the place . I took the advise of the young lady serving as I was not sure what to order.Can honestly say blew me away different from your usual Chinese it tasted fresh authentic and full of great flavours I did not want the meal to stop .This place will by my new go to restraunt .

It's always so good. Brisket is amazing. Pork is fabulous. Chicken is great. Homemade noodles are superb. Service is warm. It's not often you get this quality and humble authenticity for such good value.

It's great seeing this restaurant develop, we arrived late they weren't in any rush to close, lovely dinner and interesting explanations of the ingredients and cooking techniques and enthusiastic staff

This is the genuine authentic roast meats. Fantastic flavours and tremendous crispy roast belly pork. Dont expect your english beef green pepper and sweet and sour.. Authentic noodle soups and more..

Forget everything else, the food is amazing. This is as real as it gets for Chinese roast pork. And eight pounds! Eight pounds! Best food in Preston, hands down. Just go.
