Just propped in here late evening for one drink with a friend. Staff friendly, got a seat which is always a bonus and the atmosphere in general was good.

Went for Sunday roast - sensible portions and price, all very tasty. Served up pretty quickly, which was great with kids in our group. Nice selection of beers. And generally a pretty laid back vibe.

I would say it isn’t a good restaurant, the atmosphere is not welcoming. Cold food I wouldn’t recommend eating in this terrible place! If I could give 0 stars I would and not think twice. The staff are rude and have no respect for the customers! Service is slower than my grandma who’s on life support. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Bully breed discrimination! I recently visited The Pub with my canine companion and wanted to share my thoughts on the overall experience as she is a bull breed dog and was made to feel unwelcome by one waitress On the positive side, the food was outstanding, and the majority of the staff provided excellent service. The atmosphere was ok, and I appreciated the pub's dog-friendly policy, which initially seemed welcoming. However, a particular incident with one waitress left a sour taste. Despite being in a dog-friendly environment, she expressed fear towards my dog, a well-behaved and friendly companion. This resulted in a somewhat uncomfortable situation, as she singled out my dog while others of different breeds were freely interacting with patrons. The inconsistency in enforcing the dog-friendly policy was disappointing and affected our overall enjoyment. It's essential for establishments that claim to be dog-friendly to ensure a consistent and welcoming environment for all breeds. In conclusion, The Pub offers great food and a generally pleasant atmosphere, but the experience was marred by the mentioned incident. I hope the management takes steps to address such inconsistencies and maintains a truly inclusive atmosphere for all patrons and their furry friends, I mean after all of you claim to be a dog friendly pub I suggest hiring staff that aren’t afraid any breeds of dog.

Great pub and good food to. A bit on the pricey side for a burger and chips but it was good. Staff are nice and engaging.

Food is good but expensive. You order and pay for food and drinks at the bar, but they add a service charge, which is taking liberties I think.

Cozy pub, good food and nice selection of beers

We held a wake here in their upstairs room and had our own bar and ample room for everyone. The feel was very rustic and well laid out. Service at the bar was good and the food laid out was delicious. Well done everyone 👍

We hired the upstairs for a wake. Perfect venue. Lovely bar staff and very helpful. The food was delicious and hot. The only thing I would pick up on which is by no means their fault, but the bathrooms are two floors down, which is tricky if you have any elderly or disabled guests with you.

Plenty of good beers to choose from, don't forget to look at menu behind the bar! Had a nice porter. Only drawback was service at the bar was a bit slow - don't know if someone let them down but they were rushed off their feet.

I have frequented this pub since its inception and have eaten on many occasions, some have been good and some have not. However, I thought it only right that I leave a comment on the Sunday lunch I recently had. it was by far the best pub lunch I have had anywhere for a long time, I was with a party of 4 and we all commented how good the roasts were. Well done guys, keep it up

We absolutely love this place and have been coming along for a number of years. Lively, good vibe, kid and pet friendly. I would have given 5 stars on all accounts but, have a few views that could be an improvement. Staff behind the bar are great and attentive, but in recent times noticed the staff serving food should have better knowledge of hygiene. You can’t be touching the pets coming in and then serving food to customers. The food on a few occasions has been overcooked and my partner found hair in his food. We left raising a complaint as we don’t like to cause a fuss. Some improvements could be made to the washroom facilities also. But on the whole, the management need to train the staff on hygiene, washing hands and food standards. Once these points have been improved then it will be 5 stars across the board.

Arrived to enjoy the Saturday 241 burger deal, open till 4pm. Only to be told at 3.30 that the kitchen had decided to shut. No manager present to deal with the que of people awaiting food for the afternoon. Poor communication from the bar staff on duty, all of which too consumed in their own conversations of what degrees they mastered to politely tell guest the kitchen was closed. Gorgeous pub, terrible staff blaming a private event in the evening. The management needs attention, staff training. What a shambles for a community hub of a pub. Real let down....

Great pub, good food and nice vibe. Lost a star due to service charge being added to all food that is ordered at the bar! Fair enough if orders were taken at the table, but bar service does not warrant a service charge

Pleasant local pub with plenty of seating inside and outside. The beer garden out the front is particularly big and aways very busy in the summer.

Was guest as private party in the upstairs room. Barman was very hospitable . Food was good. Party organisation was excellent.

I have lived local to here for about 4 years now. A brilliant pub with a brilliant atmosphere, no matter what the season. One of my favourite locals always for food and drink!

This place is inefficient. They do not let you book via phone call and you Must book via an email enquiry but by the time they have responded to you and you respond with an email confirming the time, they claim nothing is available. It is a bizarre and frankly infuriating system. You must allow people to book via phone sometime we cannot wait 48 hours to make a booking, especially if we want to go on the day. It's ridiculous and not functional.

Very nice Camden Ale on tap. Reasonably priced, but obviously a lot pricier than witherspoon a few doors along. Food looked good, but didn't try so not rated.

Bar staff should just know who is next. Such a cop out to shout out "whose next" and let your customers decide for themselves. Often slow service too but some staff are great!! Garden is good too. The response from the management team here is fair if it was indeed busy. On both occasions - 6/7 people at the bar! Yes it's easy for us to just say next but customers are not used to keeping an eye on who was here first. Nor are all customers fair when it comes to that system!

Great place to spend a sunny afternoon.

I'm not sure whether to let everyone know that this place has a great beer garden with full sun for pretty much all day or keep that to myself. Gets a little busy, but queues go down quick. Standard pub fare and decently priced. Enjoyable place to while away an afternoon.

Such a shame. Been a few times before and the food was good. Love the beer selection and the beer garden is great in the sun, but if you're charging 20 quid for a roast it should be top notch. Instead I got a piece of offal that I wouldn't have fed to the dog (not sure the video even shows how bad it was) and when somebody came out to take our plates (the only time there was a staff interaction after ordering,) they picked this up and walked off without even asking if everything was OK, so the service doesn't justify the price tag either.

Great burger (2 for 1 on Tuesdays). Only slight issue was our starter (a very good calamari) arrived at the same time as the main.

Large pub. Lively downstairs on Fridays. Great live music courtesy of Dial M for Music upstairs third or fourth Fri of the month. 1 - 2 well kept cask ales. Friendly bar staff.

Very disappointing. The food is subpar (I'd even say the local weatherspoons beats it, and for fraction of the price), and the staff aren't always super friendly. However, on the plus side - they have a really nice selection of beers, and their beer garden is by far the best in Wanstead. So if you're looking for a summer drink, this is the spot.

Great craft beer & Yorkshire pudding

Thank you to the Bull for helping us have a wonderful celebration for our daughters Christening day. We had Sunday lunch for 40 people and they brought out 40 meals, hot, delicious and on time. Everyone was so happy! A special thank you to Jay and Lara (I hope I got their names right) as they were particularly fantastic at looking after us and making sure everyone got their drinks / food. Thank you again I thoroughly recommend the Bull for a wonderful Sunday lunch or party.

Such a lovely pub with lovely staff. A good mix of people and ages. I am surprised I have never been before but I will certainly be going back. Even though it is winter we still sat outside with our coats off because the heaters were toasty. I had a lovely meal so I can also recommend the food. Thank you.

Use to love coming here for a pint while out shopping…. But being charged £6.20 for a pint of Redemption (Tottenham and not South America) I’ll be going to Wetherspoons now

Lovely garden, wish they had a covered and heated section for winter (for the smokers and dog owners who like to sit outside). Amazing chef, fish n chips is 12/10!

Nice outdoor dog friendly pub and very accommodating staff.

My wife and I visited yesterday lunchtime. It was very quiet with only a few customers. Drinks prices seemed a tad expensive and the menu was limited with little to choose from. The barman was friendly. Will explore other venues the next time that I am in Wanstead.

Love the ambience of The Bull. Originally the stamping ground of Winston Churchill when the building was The Conservative Club Friendly staff and a good selection of wines. Didn't eat here but food looked good! Good outside seating but inside also cosy

The food was lovely and I had a unique dish curry bratwurst with chips but the queuing outside the entrance to the pub and up to the bar needs to be reviewed. I ate inside and had to go back outside to join the queue for another drink. Silly situation!

Lovely pub. Came here as part of a wedding party a great place for a reception. The staff are friendly. The food is excellent and they have a good choice of drinks.

We had our Wedding Reception at the upstairs function room at The Bull yesterday & it was amazing. Mike was the best bar man we could have hoped for & Andy was really dedicated to ensuring our guests were all happy with their orders. Marilla gets a special mention from us too. She was consistently helpful and positive in the build up to our special day & on the day itself too. Big thank you from us ❤️
