Road House in Merthyr Tydfil

Omg one of the best burgers I've ever tasted it was fresh home made with flavours to die for .. staff was so lovely and welcoming . Spotless clean will definitely be back

Visited tonight with friends lovely food and didn’t take too long apart from one meal which had to be cancelled as everyone had eaten. As I was walking to purchase more drinks I heard from the counter kitchen staff/ chef shouting at other member of staff which can only be described as vile and highly unprofessional. I Also note that I was not the only customer that heard this as it was the talk of the restaurant. It really ruined my experience of the place and will not be returning. I understand kitchen work can be stressful but if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

I sat down and was given a menu. Placed my order. Then read 62 pages of my book before an obviously embarrassed girl came to ask me if I'd ordered. She took the order again. After three minutes short of an hour I received my food. It was not bad at all. Went to pay. Was told to wait as my waitress had to open the till with her key. After a while she arrived and couldn't work the till. Two more waitresses arrived to help without success. Then one got on her mobile to get assistance. I gave them some money and told them to keep the change and walked out. A complete and total shambles.

Took 2:45mins for delivery… paid services charges for Foodhub that couldn’t deliver for them… turned up cold, missing items. With 3 miserable kids that we had to feed before it turned up. Want it to work… but it doesn’t ATM… shocking all round.

Not sure what happened today but our breakfast was chaos! Toast forgotten, fried bread forgotten, bread and butter forgotten. Our hot drinks were forgotten despite reminding the waitress. They hadn’t arrived by the time we finished our meal so we had a refund. Food was lovely when it came but annoying to have to remind them of forgotten items. Really needs to have a better system.

Food is good. But very shocking management breakfasts going out to wrong tables no cutlery on tables waiting ages for tea & coffe and waited one hour 30 min for breakfast which weren’t the ones that we ordered. Staff need a good shake up or this caffe won’t last long

Visited today clean and tidy and food was great. However the management of the place needs addressing pronto! There were people having other peoples breakfasts toast taking ages (Breakfast) nearly eaten by the time it arrived. The quality of the food was good and would return, however I hope the owner sorts his staff out next time. I would encourage sit at the table and orders taken so the staff do not get mixed up on what’s been ordered.

Each time we visit Roadhouse we are never disappointed! Even when staff are flat out as the restaurant is so busy there is always a cheery welcome and friendly staff at the till and serving refreshments and meals. The menu is good and the food and drinks are always presented well and piping hot. Would recommend for families, couples and groups of all ages.

My lady friends and myself visit the road house quite regularly. We meet up for breakfast which is always delicious. The breakfast is good value for money and the staff are always 'happy to help.' The road house has an American diner feel and though I would say the customers are mainly male workers my friends and I have always felt welcome and comfortable, therefore I would highly recommend this establishment.

This is a small-medium cafe-style place located in an industrial estate. It has its own car park and usually opens about 8.30am for breakfast and also does lunch. I had the full breakfast which is the usual classic bacon, eggs, toast, sausage, choice of beans or tinned tomatoes, back pudding and mushrooms. Took about 15min to cook (we did get there just as they were opening) and was a fine example of the dish. Tea or in my case, milky coffee on the side. Generous servings and not swimming in grease/oil. Good value and thoroughly enjoyable.

You won't find a better, more reasonable breakfast in the area. The breakfast is large and tasty (even though my toast arrived after I'd finished my breakfast).

The Road House is situated outside of Merthyr. The breakfasts are large, great value and the bacon is excellent. Its a cash only business, so don't forget to go to the cash point before you arrive. Service was a bit slow today, but they were quite busy.

Great place to come for a good cooked breakfast, portions are good and we left with full stomachs. Very good food and coffee.

Always a good crowd of mostly locals in the know. Friendly staff and atmosphere and food served promptly. Today we all had brunch but beware the all in burger!! Simply magnificent but you need to be really hungry ( or share) to finish this off- tremendous value for moneyhighly recommend

Highly recommend this place. Excellent staff even though it was crazy busy. Spotlessly clean. Piping hot delicious food with wonderful tea! If your breakfast isn’t enough it comes with lashings of hot buttered toast! We have eaten breakfasts all over Merthyr this by far the most reasonably priced and valued!

Only coffee and a ham/salard roll but what a roll coleslaw home made fab good staff very clean but closes @ 2.30pm

Nice place, i like the american style theme. Staff are always friendly & nice & to be fair its a busy place at times & they all work together well. Always people there which is good! Really really good breakfast been there a few times & always my favourite one! Highly recommend!

Bit late in leaving this review but better late than never!

Went to this venue first and last shocked by people's comments, must like eating cheap nasty food. Sausage processed mushrooms out of a tin toast served 5 minutes before breakfast. Went to complain as it was not hot and it is tasteless. No butter either cheap margarine. The mature lady was not happy when I stated the above she stormed in the back as I wanted a refund. Not good customer service at all.

I visit most days. Always excellent. Best value and quality small breakfast in Merthyr. Ham eggs and chips- enormous , as are all the meals! Friendly helpful and hard working staff!

More than a cafe , this is a roadhouse , freshly cooked food, often local quality sourced items. Full breakfast, amazing size abs variety, burgers in various styles sizes and tastes, pulled pork, faggots and peas, eggs and way you like them. This dinner is always spotless , staff are delightful , helpful and always chat. Parking available . Yes it is in the morning middle of an industrial estate but if you like good quality , homecooked food don't miss it

Simply say better then Mac Donald's burger. Great customer service. The burger was yummy. I requested manager for pork or bacon free burger, she cleaned the grill for me.

Magnificent as always. Clean toilet facilities fabulous staff nothing too much trouble and extra help with disabled wife many thanks.

We regularly visit the Road house. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The food is always freshly cooked and reasonably priced the portions are more than man sized.

Visited roadhouse cafe a few times now with my partner. We both enjoy the breakfast options and have to say they serve very good portions and it's all piping hot when it comes out which is always good. I particularly like the omelette which is very big. Definitely recommend this place as value for money

Been every day and will be going for lunch today. Lovely people great food at a great price and easy parking can't praise enough.

Clean cafe. Breakfast is beautiful and excellent value for money. You can choose from a variety of different size breakfast. They have a wide choice of different meals on their menu. Staff friendly and prompt service.

What can I say, everything from food to the staff working there was great, makes you so welcome and the food was lovely, plates were hot so your food was as itshould be, recoment it, worth going there

Shane and I vist often for our dinner, the food is top notch, they have real coffee!!!! Of witch is a bonus; my favourite is ham,egg,& chips, real chips mind not frozen, just like my late mother used to make. Clean, loads of room easy parking, and most of all friendly staff. Opps forgot they have a brilliant chose on the menu.

Cooked to perfection, 1 of the best burgers I've ever tried. Will be going back. Everything is cooked from fresh and home cooked. Staff extremely polite and helpful. 5 star hygiene rating to.

Tucked away on the Pant Industrial Estate, very close to the exit from the A465 Heads of the Valley Road. Pull off for the Pant Industrial Estate, and turn right into the Estate, and First Right.
