Start with wait for 30 mins then staff came to table said they did not have pork belly so ok my dad changed his order to chicken BBQ then another 15 mins no chicken at all so he forced to change to be pork or beef at that point we waited for almost a hour... Time passed by we heard the kitchen staffs call for service as it about 15 plates of food waiting to be served but unfortunately no staff thinking that should be their priority so food wait there cool ,wait for another 15 mins still no hope we ask for a girl she said it nothing to do with her she just server and she will go brake now . Quite shock with uninteresting and unhelpful behaviour nevermind more than 60 mins pass two of us got food which absolutely so cold my son got one of finger is burnt so he can't eat it small chips but their so hungry to compliant. Then girl came to said my food is roasted chicken is not available have to wait another 10 mins at least at that point me and my husband got enough we just cancelled our order and we go to McDonald's instead .to be honest the service is absolutely ridiculous. We will not go back ever again.also my son he love harvester but now he said he hate harvester.

Great experience with friendly team and lovely food. Had the Bird, Surf & Turf. Steak was cooked perfectly and the portion was definitely filling and tasty. Treated to table service with Macy who made us feel very welcome and looked after us. Would definitely return and recommend

We visited this restaurant for 2 breakfasts. My wife & I both had the Classic Breakfast. The food was okay BUT the attention to detail was very poor. The guy who brought the food over, didn't know which meal was which (they did differ). There were no tomatoes on either plate & we asked for them. One meal was with mushrooms but they were not supplied etc etc. Service was a little slow too. On the plus side it's unlimited filter good, which is a good thing. We wouldn't be rushing back.

Visited harvester today in merthyr and I am loving the new menu!!! The corner bread is to die for! Wayne was fab too and was so helpful! Thank you 😊

Been to this restaurant a few times before. This harvester is ok. It's not one of the better ones but its not the worst. Food was ok and came out fairly quick, staff are pretty friendly. We did have a issue when we left the restaurant. As my wife fell over outside on the paving, and my 7 year old daughter also tripped on the paving as it's uneven. This really didn't help as none of the outside lights around the restaurant except 1 on the far side of the carpark were not on. It's was actually quite dark. I wanted to go in and complain to the manager and staff, But my wife wanted no fuss made. This to me is totally unacceptable. We are only in our 40's, but there was older customers in the restaurant , and some with Zimmer frames as I seen them. This could and will cause a nasty fall.

I popped in with my family on Saturday for some food now I’m really not one to be bothered by how long I’m waiting but this was appalling. I was waiting so long for my starters to come only for them to be freezing cold, which were sent straight back then I had fresh which were lovely then our mains came out nearly 40 minutes later and they were freezing cold!! harvester isn’t cheap these days and paying all that money for cold food is an utter joke. I used to come here a lot but over the past few months I’ve had really bad experiences unfortunately. this restaurant really have lost me as a customer. It really has gone to rubbish over the past few months.

What has happened to Harvester in Merthyr??? It used to be good but I won't be visiting again after today. Firstly , on arrival was told that there was no rosittier chicken available, as what had been prepared had all been used and would be an hour before the next batch was ready. This was at 12.30pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was half empty! Surely this is your bread and butter and just seems to be down to complete lack of organisation and preparation. Speaking of bread and butter, no bread rolls available, not even being baked, how do you run out of food in a restaurant??? Had to ask for salad bowls as these are now a precious commodity, and no cutlery on table so pinched from an empty table. Service was OK and I feel sorry for the staff who can only deal with the tools they are given but a very poor experience. I can see from previous reviews that this isn't the first poor review but if management don't actually do something soon you won't have a business left.

Waited hour and half for our food had to ask twice what was taking so long,when it turned up my chicken was dry and cold and my son ordered the double cheeseburger and received the single

We just had the best meal we have ever had at harvester merthyr, usually good but my mixed grill was amazing, served by Jill who made the meal more special with her friendly manner, very attentive . Compliments to chief Jadyen, we will be back so, Thank you

I thought we’d give the harvester one last chance as it has been our favourite go to for years. Partners steak had to be sent back twice as the chef couldn’t cook a medium steak! It first came well done. Sent back, came back to us mooing. My chicken breast (BBQ CHICKEN STACK) was so hard and dry. Chips were cold. The menu has been changed and it’s not good. There didn’t seem to be much at all for vegetarians. I ordered garlic bread to go with my meal, and well. . . I couldn’t believe what I was served 🤣 PITTA BREADS, cut in half, with melted cheese! Not even any garlic! I’ll add the picture of it here, they were put in a microwave to melt the cheese on top. I’ll never come back until they’ve sorted themselves out.

Wayne was our server today. He seated us in a warm area as we had our newborn with us. Breakfast was lovely.

visited today, the restaurant was very quiet. Requested a table for 2, to be told they were fully booked for the afternoon - though managed to book a table in 15 minutes time. Won’t be returning to honour that reservation.

The worse Harvester we have ever been to. Nothing in the salad bar, food freezing and foul. Poor girl Serving rushed off her feet. The place is run down and minging. Avoid it!

Visited today and the food and service was shocking. No one a knowledge us on arrival When staff eventually arrived they were stupid and rude One staff member asked me if I was alright when she saw me waiting for a table I don't know what she meant by that!!! When food arrived no knives and forks were given to us we had to ask for them Tea was very weak and very cold only one pathetic tea bag Bowls for the salad bar were smaller but it was so pathetic it wasn't worth having. Salad dressing container was empty and no one bothered to fill it There were no bread rolls but we were I formed of that before we sat down to the table i had to send the chips back they were stone cold but they were replaced All the portions wer disgustingly too small and very cold. The pineapple to go with my gammon was even dried up when we complained about the size of the portion of peas they did just add a few more No.one at all asked us how the meal was and I will never go there again

Polite friendly staff, a new menu waiting to be tried some items missing on the menu which we wanted, food arrived in a reasonable time. Used to like visitors Harvester but it getting a bit samey nothing special, only visited has we had a discount coupon and will probably only visit a Harvester when we receive another one.

Rang to see if we could book a table for 12.30 got told they were fully booked till 3.30. Went online and found they had plenty of room for the whole afternoon. Booked for 12.30, when we turned up they were turning people away who hadn't booked. I explained my situation with trying to book and the staff where rude, I told a few people who got turned away to book online as there was room. The staff were absolutely fuming that people started to book online and come in for their table. The lady in charge stomped around looking angry the whole time we were there. Salad was rubbish, took forever to re fill. 4 times we asked for blue cheese sauce, 3 times we were ignored or told it won't be long. Food was being dropped on the floor through the serving hatch and kicked to the corner. Had to change our cutlery as it was dirty. Food poor, looks nice on the menu pictures. Certainly doesn't look like it on the plate. The whole place has gone down hill and I will not be rushing back !!

Food was cold and items were missing. Just poor service. Not necessarily a Just Eat delivery issue, just disappointing.

Ordered 3 plates sharer.. Breaded mushrooms (nice) Nachos.. (they were OK) Crispy chicken finger.. Well this is we're it went wrong to start with.... Plates only to discover the crispy chicken fries were not chicken.... Yes you read that right.. We were served calamari instead (good job neither of us had a fish allergy when we called the waitress over there was no apology. Just ohh do you want something else? Well yeah my chicken fingers OK I'll go check now for you. Returns to the table to be told we don't do them no more sorry.. Well the mains weren't too bad but the kids under 6 menu watch out for the chicken power strips, they were like concrete would only be good as a glass hammer.

Had an amazing meal today. New menu was superb. Wayne our server made our visit. He was attentive, friendly and very funny. Will be back to this Harvester 😊

I recently visited Harvester, and I had the pleasure of being served by Wayne. From the moment we were seated, he made sure we were well taken care of. His attentiveness, friendly demeanour, and knowledge of the menu really enhanced our dining experience. Wayne provided excellent service, ensuring that everything was perfect throughout the meal.

4 of us had a lovely lunch today and Wayne our server was absolutely brilliant. His professionalism and humorous nature were so welcoming. He was so chatty with our group and very accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. He was rushed off his feet and still continued with a smile, he is a asset to the company - always a pleasure :-)

We went to harvester this evening to celebrate some good news both me my husband and 2 children who are both autistic has a lovely time me and my son tried the new meat sharer and it didn’t disappoint it was amazing so tasty all meat was lovely and soft and my little boy was sucking the bones clean on the ribs we give it a 10/10 being autistic both children find it very difficult to eat out but every time we visit here they always seem at ease and they always enjoy our waitress Lyndsey was amazing and very kind she was very informative with our questions ect the waitress who was serving the other table was also very lovely and helpful I think her name was amy overall our experience tonight was impeccable and we will be back soon

Came in for a lunch and Wayne very kindly accommodated us. I had a peanut allergy and got everything made properly for me and was delicious. Recommend for a nice meal

Delicious meal. Very tender and well cooked steak. Server (Kim) was very helpful and efficient. Staff endeavoured to keep the Restaurant clean, quickly wiping down tables and sweeping the floor. Toilets were fine.

Went for my second time Sunday with family, food was lovely and great value, the half roast chicken was something else!! staff was very helpful and happy. Definitely be back.

Just close this run down Harvester down. Food was absolutely shocking! The place is really run down and is well overdue a refurbishment. I will never go there again!

The worse harvester I've ever had the displeasure of going to the salad was rank and needed to be freshened up there was no small plates to put the bread rolls on, the drinks machine wasn't working properly and by the time I'd taken 10 minutes explaining this to management my main meal was cold do yourself a favour and visit a different branch for a better experience

Oh dear! It was awful, we were told on arrival that there were no bread rolls, gammon and limited salad. It was 7pm on a Wednesday. But we were on a tight schedule to get to the cinema so we stayed. I ordered the classic combo, only to be told there was no roisterer chicken . I ordered chicken breast and baked potato. The baked potato was rock hard so I asked for it to be changed. The waitress said “ they’ll all be the same cos they’re all sat under the lights” fair play for her honesty, so I had chips, which to be fair were hot and freshly cooked, not like my pal’s whose were warm and rubbery. It was also freezing in there. On a positive note, the waitress was really nice and a little embarrassed by the situation. The Harvester used to be great but it was terrible, what a shame.

Terrible service arrived at 12.0 noon was sat at table by waitress still not asked to order by 12.30 same waitress served 3 other tables next to us who arrived after we did my wife complained to so called manager still no service we got up and walked out after complaining again to manager who unbelievably said no problem and walked away needless to say won’t be going back and will mention appalling service to pensioners to our friends

Food was delivered quickly and was hot and tasty. Our waitress Toni-Louise was helpful and efficient and did a great job.

Husband and I ate here this evening and we won't be back! Ribs and rotisserie chicken were fine (although my half chicken was from the smallest chicken ever) but for the price paid ( over 50 quid for 2 soft drinks, 2 mains and 2 sides) the rest of the meal was poor!! I had barely a handful of sweet potato fries, and my husband's 'dirty fries' were a few barely cooked, cold chips with a splodge of nacho cheese sauce and a few dried 'bacon' bits off the salad bar. Our first order of onion rings were so overcooked you could've knocked someone out if you'd thrown one at them and the cheesy garlic bread was basically a bread roll with cheese on top. Epic fail!!

Ok if you like your salad coughed on by a stranger. Ignored by staff. Won't be back.

This was the first time my husband and I had been out together in over three years, as we have a severely disabled son. It was a big deal to us. We had booked a table, but arrived a few minutes late (tried to call, but phone wasn't answered). Allegedly, our booking wasn't on the system when we arrived and we were greeted with a very rude 'We aren't accepting walk-ins.' My husband pointed out that we had in fact booked and the waitress said 'My boss says no walk ins, but I'll make an exception. Just don't tell anyone.' I also want to point out that the restaurant was more than half empty at this point and it was 7:45pm! The salad bar was sparse with many tubs empty and there was only one type of bread which was rock solid. This surprised me as when we'd visited other Harvester restaurants, this was not the case. Our meals were miniscule too, with most of the plate empty. Even with a 25% off voucher, the meals were expensive for what we got. It was the attitude of the staff that really spoiled the evening, though. They don't seem to want the effort of having to serve people. It feels like they can't be bothered and treat customers like they are an annoyance. Staff here need to take a trip to Harvester in Oxford or even Cardiff and see that their approach isn't typical of this company.

The food was quite tasty. Staff were nice. The price of Harvester is now never worth the money, it has gone really expensive.

We visit this HARVESTER as my mother-in-law, who's in a care home, usually enjoys the salad. Unfortunately, it was a case of what salad? Most of the salad buckets were literally empty. It was a Wednesday, Sept 29. In fact, all that was available was a bucket of pasta and another with mixed beans. Apparently, they'd run out of salad 🥗 😕 We'd purchased a Groupon offer of two two courses at almost half price. We were given a special Groupon menu which had been printed off quickly in "ink saver" mode and was so pale none of us could see or read it clearly, without using our mobile phone camera. The service was very slow, and there were 5 waitresses on ! The food was served warm and had obviously been standing a while on a shelf. We had to ask 4 times to pay the bill for the drinks and those not having the Groupon offer. Will we be back to this HARVESTER in Myther Tydfil? No. Definitely not. The offer felt restrictive, and it wasn't the first time the meal was disappointing, as was the service.

Booked seats for 6 people. Turn up get seated straight away. Restaurant was more than half empty. 25 mins later we get asked for drinks. Took an hour and 15mins to get our.food well which was an absolute disappointment. Food portions very small more like children's meals. We didn't even want dessert we just wanted to get out of there. All the food was cold. Ordered peri peri chicken and it tasted like they had mixed it with BBQ sauce. Mac and cheese- cheese was rock solid. Mixed grill most of the meat was cold and dry 2 chicken burgers drier than the Sahara desert. BBQ burger. - no BBQ sauce. Pulled pork was so dry it was discoloured. BBQ chicken stack- well an happy meal from mcdonalds was a bigger meal that. Only good thing was them taking money off as we had told them the food was rubbish. Don't usually leave negative reviews but the merthyr branch needs to improve drastically.

Took 30 minutes just for a member of staff to come to the table so we could order drinks and food. Once we had the food, everything was overcooked yet freezing cold. Salad bowls were filthy too.

Waited 45 minutes for breakfast , Very slow service , not correct breakfasts and bloody all of it cold , there was only 8 people there so not busy at all .won't be coming again. Not getting any orders correct by the look of it as servers moving items from plate to plate at the pass

Had lunch there today,server was great ,very helpful and on the ball, but the food was rubbish, overcooked and cold when it arrived, and the wait between courses was very slow, won't be going back there again, the waitress did offer to change meal but the time it took to arrive at table I didn't see much hope of replacement being any quicker or better.

We were seated and left for 20 minutes, with no staff around to ask if we could order. The member of staff apologised when I said we'd been waiting which was something. The salad bar was pretty sparse with several bowls empty or nearly empty. The food came on a reasonable amount of time but there was no check on how or food was. We were planning on having dessert, but the waitress cleared the table next to ours then stood doing nothing for 15 minutes and left us with our dirty plates. We had run out of time to get dessert and therefore had to leave. In summary, the food was nice but the work ethic of the staff was really disappointing. We paid and left and have no intention of returning to this particular restaurant.

Service and food was excellent. The wait for the salad bar was frustrating due to it not being self serve. It's time to put that back to how it used to be.

Absolutely disgusting, ordered the mixed grill, the steak & gammon was so small it was like a childs portion and mega chewy, dunno how you can make a medium steak and it comes out chewy, the chicken was tiny and slimey, & peas was solid, and the food was cold, just revolting which was also £20 and not worth it , will definitely not being going back there! Only good thing is the salad bar

Only good thing was free parking at the rear of the restaurant. Food was luke warm, no condiments on the table, when asked for sauce we were pointed at an area in the middle of the restaurant to collect our own sauces. Ordered apple juice, none arrived, apparently they had none in stock but no one bothered to mention this or offer an alternative.

Slow service to order food, when food came (35 mins) the chicken was luke warm. It then took a further 30 minutes for them to come and take plates away after asking and making eye contact with numerous staff members. Quick enough to bring the bill over when asked though. Definitely wouldn't return to this harvester, or recommend to others. Disappointed

Well it was my and my partners first time to the harvester we had herd mixed reviews but it did not disappoint at all service was fast the waitress was tip top it was busy in the restaurant and the restaurant was lively the the food was banging and the pudding was huge was very happy and stuffed

Visited tonight after some shopping. Booked a table online just before arriving so wasn't surprised or bothered about having to wait for the table to be ready, however, it did take almost 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us when we arrived. Salad bar was sparse. Had to ask for butter, little salad choice, and the croutons, crispy onions etc were all empty. Had an issue with the lo not liking the cheese sauce on her burger, and whilst they were happy to change it, I had to find someone to take it back to the kitchen as no-one had come to ask if our meals were OK. The best part of the meal was probably the cherry Pepsi, sadly. Even with a voucher, it wasn't worth the money.

Food lovely service was good think short staffed the ones there were working so hard but you could see they were stretched. Kids at the moment can eat for £1 but if you choose this then you can't have the lunch time special menu only one deal which we found out after paying.alsi when we were there alot of items in menu were not available not sure if this was because busy and sold out or they limited menu due to being rushed. Free salad with every meal which is buffet. Plenty of seating not very disabled accessible the front door is not automated and is quite heavy so someone would have to be at hand to help. All in all food lovely reasonable prices also do take away via collection or delivery

The food tastes good but the portions feel quite mean, especially given the prices. An all-you-can-eat salad buffet is great but not to fill up on after having your main meal!
