Visited here several times and never once had a bad experience. Food is always good quality and served fairly promptly. Their new Combos are an absolute delight and would highly recommend. Looking forward to future visits.

****UPDATE*** I dined here with my Mrs 14/1/25 and was served by Amy and she is amazing, she delivered the best customer service I've ever had here. 17/6/24 Had food here for first time recently with my lady and the service was shocking. It was so slow it took quarter of an hour to be served all staff seemed to be on break at the time and i get it as it was midday and only 3 tables were there but still took ages to be seen. The food was lovely, only marking down for slow service.

When visiting a harvester, you have to accept you get what you pay for and not expect a 5* meal. When we ordered we were not told any items were unavailable however the first 2 dishes I ordered were unavailable. After 10 minutes we were then told my partners dish was unavailable also. The incorrect chips were brought out with both mains and the chips were covered in black bits from being cooked in old oil. The side we ordered did not come until we had nearly finished our mains. We made the waitress aware of the issues with chips etc but was not offered anything more than an apology. Voted 2 star as the ribs and chicken were actually pretty good and the waitress was polite and apologetic.

The restaurant was very busy & there was a wait but I would like to highlight the staff because despite order issues (not mine) & complaints (again not mine!) the staff were champions! Still smiling & trying to accommodate everyone’s needs! I would like to mention Kyle who despite it being his 1st day & his nerves, he absolutely smashed it! Also the young lady who was either a supervisor/manager, absolute star given how busy & hectic a shift it was!

Salad bar was on rations tho, literally only 30% for the 2 hour visit. But the young waitress with the super curls was 10/10 fairplay.

I ordered 2 meals for home delivery on the BOGOF offer . I ordered with salad on both , paid the extra for express delivery so that it wouldn’t be cold . It arrived late so pointless paying express delivery . One meal missing no salad and freezing cold to the point it was inedible . It wasn’t the type of meal that you could just warm on the microwave . Sadly it was wasted as we couldn’t stomach it . It was all slung in a pizza box in a paper bag . Maybe if insulated it wouldn’t have been as cold . Tried phoning the restaurant no answer and no phone back on their answer phone service after leaving my details . I emailed head office and had a response . Was offered a £40 eat in voucher which I agree was a good gesture but sadly I can’t use because I suffer with anxiety with eating in public . Harvester did reply stating they were over run and short staffed and admitted meal shouldn’t have arrived like that after seeing the pics but surely it would have been easier to refuse home deliveries , I’d have preferred and have understood that

Can’t believe how dirty and run down this place has become. The restaurant area carpet looks like it hasnt been hoovered for weeks, the men’s toilet has paint peeing off the walls and water and urine all over the floor, the plates and cutlery were dirty, the food was cold and the attitude of the staff was appalling rolling their eyes when we told them the food was cold. Spend your money elsewhere!

My husband and I chose to have lunch at your restaurant today. I have to say it was really bad, the pork belly was so tough it was impossible to eat, the chicken breast was tough. We are disappointed.

Nightmare to park, very, very slow and very, very inaccurate service, far too many items of food and drink 'out of stock'. The food we had was nice overall and that's why I generously gave two stars instead of one. Won't be going again.

We were in the area after travelling from Southeast London. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our waiter, Wayne was super friendly from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond with taking our orders and providing a great service, which was particularly challenging given we were a large group. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal because of him!

Chicken wasn't cooked enough and chips were not hot and quality was poor

We had a family meal this evening with all 16 of us, and it was a great experience. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the food arrived promptly. A special shout-out to Wayne for his exceptional service—he was incredibly hard-working and friendly throughout.

Came here for breakfast with Santa this morning and it was probably our best Santa experience we’ve had this year! Santa was absolutely great with the children and very engaging. The elf Libby was so good with the children who absolutely loved her, and our server Emir was great. Food came out hot and fresh in good time. Would 100% recommend this breakfast with Santa experience, we’ll be back next year x

Missing half of the food, burger contained NO toppings that were advertised. Food stone cold. Not happy at all for the price I have paid.

Our server was Wayne. He was attentive and friendly and helpful. There were items on the menu that were not available and to be fair it was quite a few we chose. We were fine about it and Wayne handled the situation well. We were a party of five on a celebration meal. We had a small baby with us and the atmosphere was really good in the restaurant area. The food was good. Strange idea to remove the sauce from the chicken dirty burger. Only keeping it for the beef dirty burgers, my adult son was disappointed as this made the burger very dry and defeated the object of the description, he added mayo but it wasn't the same he said. But everyone else's meal was lovely. Service was fast. Friendly. Overall a lovely visit and we will book a meal there again.

Food is dry as a bone and overcooked what a waste of £50 quid very disappointed food is better in McDonald’s next door will not visit this harvester again worst food I’ve ever had in this chain definitely wouldn’t recommend to others

Popped in at lunch time for a meal with my mother and two children. We had a pleasant experience from start to finish. Our server Katie was friendly helpful and couldn’t do enough for us and my two disabled daughters throughout our visit. Helping with better seating for a wheelchair and a high chair Despite our initial disappointment of some small things not being available such as the bread rolls and some of the Christmas menu items. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh and we all throughly enjoyed our food. Only one negative was the conditions of the toilets. Seat missing and not fantastically clean. The warmth and friendliness of our server more than made up for that fact though. We all throughly enjoyed our meals and will be returning again in the near future.

Family Christmas meet up. Nine of us and the food was awful!! I was expecting a festive roast but only the main menu was available. Played it safe with a burger and chips. It was terrible. Waited a hour and a half for the food to arrive and it was so completely deep fried you couldn’t tell what was inside the batter and it was incredibly dry. The onion rings were soggy and chips were cold. Had to have some mayo to add a little moisture. Left most of it. Never going back.

From the moment we walked into the restaurant we had the BEST service. The greeter immediately got a high chair for my 2 yr old grandson and removed the extra chair so as not to disturb / interrupt flow. The girl who took our orders was really friendly and was attentive to my grandson and interacted with him. Another server came over when my grandson was grizzly and gave him a box of puzzles and crayons. The food was great ( too much !) but the service and staff were even better ! Bravo 🫶🏼

On the off chance we attended the harvester in Rhydycar, the food was absolutely delicious, and our server Wayne was exceptionally helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely visit again.

A very disappointing visit. There was a very long wait for food which is understandable as the restaurant was very busy, however the wait was very long and the food was cold. Other customers sat around us were complaining due to the wait for their food and it being cold when arrived. As I was taking my Niece to the toilet, two members of staff were arguing with one another infront of customers and the Manager rushed over to stop them. We waited that long for our main meals that by the time they were cleared and the waitress came back over the children were unable to have a dessert from their children's menu as we were booked in for bowling and had no time. Unfortunately our visit was very disappointing this time and we won't be rushing back.

Positives - my meal was cold on arrival, staff took it away but on return was dry. Negatives - drinks very expensive

Waited 10 minutes to be seated, then had to wait a further 20 minutes to place our food order. Then a further 1 hour for our food to arrive. I had to send my meal back as I could not cut through my chicken which was like leather. I've never ever had to send a meal back at any restaurant that I have visited. The salad cart was nearly empty. The person who was serving in our area really didn't have a clue what he was doing. I don't think we will be back to Merthyr for a meal unfortunately. There were 3 other tables that had to ask where their food was, they had complained so seeing the outcome that nothing was done it was pointless us airing our concerns either as it fell on deaf ears. It was a shame really as we have always enjoyed our meals in the harvester.

We went for lunch at 2pm. Lots of menu choice. Good food , generous portions, reasonably priced. Would go again

Start with wait for 30 mins then staff came to table said they did not have pork belly so ok my dad changed his order to chicken BBQ then another 15 mins no chicken at all so he forced to change to be pork or beef at that point we waited for almost a hour... Time passed by we heard the kitchen staffs call for service as it about 15 plates of food waiting to be served but unfortunately no staff thinking that should be their priority so food wait there cool ,wait for another 15 mins still no hope we ask for a girl she said it nothing to do with her she just server and she will go brake now . Quite shock with uninteresting and unhelpful behaviour nevermind more than 60 mins pass two of us got food which absolutely so cold my son got one of finger is burnt so he can't eat it small chips but their so hungry to compliant. Then girl came to said my food is roasted chicken is not available have to wait another 10 mins at least at that point me and my husband got enough we just cancelled our order and we go to McDonald's instead .to be honest the service is absolutely ridiculous. We will not go back ever again.also my son he love harvester but now he said he hate harvester.

This is the second attempt me and my partner made to eat here - The first time we waited 40 minutes and hadn’t even been offered a drink so obviously walked out. Today we booked, had our drinks but no salad bowls were available for at least an hour. Once we had our salad bowls, we went to the salad bar and it was absolutely vile & not much there at all. There was no cutlery on our table so we had to dip our bread in lurpak haha. Dirty plates everywhere, food mushed into the floor and overall a shitshow. Paid for our drinks and left. I really feel for the staff, it’s not their fault whatsoever but clearly whatever system is in place is not working. So disappointed
