My recent experience at the bar at Riverside Studios was incredibly frustrating due to the inconsistent and poor service from the staff. When I first got a table outside, one of the waiters rudely told me there was no service for the outdoor seating area and that I had to order inside. However, just minutes later, a different server came by and confirmed that outdoor table service was available by ordering via a barcode or directly with her. When I confronted the original waiter about the contradictory information, his excuse was that outdoor service was simply up to the discretion of each individual server - a policy that makes absolutely no sense for a bar/restaurant. How are customers supposed to know what to expect in terms of service? The waiter's dismissive "oh she must be a nice person" comment about his coworker who offered outdoor service was also unprofessional and rude. It suggests he simply couldn't be bothered to provide that level of service himself. Adding to the poor experience, for the next 30 minutes after our interaction, I watched this same waiter simply standing at the bar playing on his phone rather than attending to customers. His laziness and lack of care for his job were glaringly apparent.Between the inconsistent service policies, the rude staff, and the lack of proper training from management, I can't recommend the bar at Riverside Studios. The sloppy service and inability to get a straight answer from staff ruined what should have been a relaxing outdoor drinking experience. Avoid this place unless you enjoy frustration and confusion, as there are some of London's best pubs less than 100 m away along the river.

Could only get tea from 'Bakery' in a takeaway cup. Turns out Bakery is more of a kiosk. Directed to bar/restaurant for a pot of tea. Nicely served, but about the most indifferent tea I've ever tasted. A touch of passive/aggressive behaviour from a member of staff: we had not been sitting at our little table for longer than 10 minutes when he came over and placed a notice on the table showing it was booked from 5.30. At that time it was not even 4pm. He did not speak to us; but I would have expected him to simply say, pleasantly, that our table had a booking later in the day. Bear in mind that, at that time, the place was pretty empty anyway. So staff training needs some attention, as does the quality of what is served.

A very small menu but just the right size for the addition to the theatre. The servers were very friendly, there was a good atmosphere and the seating was comfortable but basic.. You can have a little snack and a drink, a lovely meal with a sneaky dessert or just a drink. My main was £13 and my dessert was £5.

I always throughly enjoy coming along to the M&S cafe in Stratford, Westfields, whereby I am greeted with Billy. I have met Billy on numerous occasions and always goes above and beyond! Such a valuable member of your staff- don’t let him leave!
