I went for Christmas dinner with my family the food was awfull it ruined our day tables looked sad with a couple of cheap crackers on no table clothes staff looked miserable what a waste of money disgusting I don’t recommend to no one they need to get a new cook the Cauvery was awfull food and the beef you could cut all on table took the beef home for the dogs and had to be cut with sisscors it was so tough

Christmas Day dinner very disappointed rubbish table no festive cheer no candles nothing no table decorations cheap Christmas crackers no water no salt and pepper cheap plastic table cloth . What a waste of a Christmas Day dinner £600+ for a table of 8.on 2nd sitting 3pm arrived at 2.40 table not ready so got a drink and waited eventually at 3.40 our table was ready NOT…arrived at our table to find staff still laying table well sort of…laid a cheap plastic table cloth simple knife and fork cheap Xmas napkin cheap Xmas crackers no salt and pepper no Xmas table decor no fresh water jug.really unprofessional.3.50 stater arrived then the big wait to be told to join the very long carvery quie this was now around 5.25 then waited in the line for 15 minutes dinner terrible not even going to mention it. By the time dessert came we had all had enough.top tip book the 1st sitting don’t book 2nd I think the staff by then has already had enough!!!!!!!

The beef was inedible, couldn't cut through it with a knife, the place was scruffy, staff were more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than looking after customers, never again!

Had my wedding here on the 23rd November and it was a day to remember, everyone was saying how nice the food was and Holly did everything possible to take the stress from us :) the rooms were lovely :) everyone was impressed with the rooms, the venue deal was cheap and all my guests have said how nice and amazing it was for my wedding :) I can’t thank Holly and her team enough for all the hard work they put into everything :) the cleaning team even came while I was getting ready just to see if I wanted anything and while I only asked for one bottle of water they left two and were so amazing :) the food was amazing- if I could do it all over again I would! Many thanks to Holly and the team mr and Mrs Williams xxx

We took are daughter to meet Santa for the first time last week she was able to ride on a donkey and then meet Santa who gave her a wonderful donkey singing book as a present the set up is wonderful for children Staff super friendly we had such a magical time will be going back to take her on there new ice rink very soon!

Lovely lunch with family to celebrate a birthday. Quite quiet but great location by the river and easy to have a walk afterwards. Good food and friendly service 👌

Very strange, we arrived for lunch, but it seemed as if they were closed. We ordered a drink and then moved on to another place to eat. The place was dark and full of boxes.

Beautiful location, big pub, excellent Caribbean food. Staff could be more friendly and welcoming, smile, and being helpful like offering baby high chair etc. Being more attentive to customers. More Caribbean food choices would be great. Kids food options could do with some veg on plates too. All in all it was okay.

Went midweek lunchtime. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Love the west Indian element. Sorry I missed the mutton curry.

We didn’t stay but did have food. Not a massive menu and food was ok. Not the tastiest chicken burger I’ve ever had but was fine. We sat outside and the view of the canal etc is pretty good.

Stop for the first time at the Riverside inn for food great place to eat in the sunshine 🌞 I order meals for 4 Adults. Customer service was of a high standard the 4 meals we order arrived on the table at the same time taken about 15mins with the help of the waitress bar staff and the chef herself

Food was ok but staff have a severe attitude problem. Won’t be returning

The manager of this place is ruining it. Twice I’ve visited and twice been left with a sour taste. Micro managing even the customers to the point of telling them where to stand and how to order a pint. I really feel sorry for the staff, breathing down their necks and not allowing them to get on with their jobs, obviously not a healthy work environment. The location is stunning, food was good, the weather was hot and being a weekend the place should have been rammed but it was fairly sparse… I can only think that others, like myself, won’t be back until she’s removed, not an enjoyable and relaxing environment. The owners really should step in.

Went in for a pint whilst passing on the bikes. There were two women behind the bar deep in conversation when I entered. Despite them seeming to acknowledge my presence, they carried on with their conversation for a couple of minutes until I had to ask "are you open?". One of the women looked at me like I was an alien! First impressions count - these guys need to learn that. Decent enough pint and the location is great for a view of the river, but the service needs a bit of attention.

I attended a wedding here at the weekend and it was spectacular, all members of staff were happy, polite and helpful. Food was amazing.

It’s a shame such a gorgeous location is tarnished by poor management. The food is poor other than an overpriced pizza, the manager is a grumpy miserable woman than spends more time micromanaging staff and getting drunk than running the place. From the few times I’ve been in she’s been drunk and bossing staff around unnecessarily. She’s very lucky to have a pub in the location it’s in by the river and to have a venue space attached. Because without a doubt if she were to run a pub in a less fortunate location she’s run it into the ground. Especially after seeing her ask staff to keep pouring her alcohol when clearly inebriated. A unfair position to put her staff which hold a duty of care not to serve clearly intoxicated people irregardless of her being the owner or not. Whatever the staff are paid it’s not enough from the poor management I’ve not only witnesses first hand on a number of occasions but through other people also. A shame because the pub could be an ideal location and thriving business if ran better. Alan

Sunday carvery Disappointing, the roast poultry was very tasteless and dry. They serve a very small amount of meat. You can take as many vegetables you want but again tasteless and bland potatoes The location is beautiful.

We ate at thr riverside today. Food always really good. But today the staff were so helpful my daughter taken really poorly and they couldn't of helped any better so a huge thank you 🙏 from us . Shout out to the lady with gorgeous red hair super helpful .. Michelle Chambers

OK, it was cheaper to stay outside Bristol. Place was fine and I had a goat curry that was good. Our rooms had a shared bathroom. It was fine but just saying. Not marking it down as I am sure I read it.

Are visit was just for the Sunday Lunch. The place is clean with employees continuously cleaning tables as people vacate. It’s a carvery so of course you have to queue. But the food is absolutely lovely and impressive we think when the trays of food are being replaced as soon as they run low. Also a very reasonable price. Very well run .

Even when your a customer you end up with a parking charge so wont be bringing my family back again

We came for an event. The service was friendly, the dining area and garden were lovely however the food was really bad. It was such a letdown.

Booking in staff quite unfriendly, room was a nice size & had a lovely view but it was cold & smelt of damp. Breakfast wasn't great, basic, bacon undercooked & not a lot of choice.

We had our second family get-together at the Riverside on Sunday and as with the first one we had a great time. Everyone knew to enter their car registrations and there were plenty of reminders around the pub. Our tables were on the conservatory patio which has a great view over the river, exactly as promised by landlady Holly. We stayed all afternoon and never felt under any pressure to leave. There’s an interesting mix of food on the menu from pizza to goat curry and everyone enjoyed what they had. The staff were friendly and service was efficient aside from a couple of order mix-ups, which may have been down to us rather than the pub! I liked the fact that there were jugs of tap water on the bar to help yourself to, a nice touch. The seven children in our group had a great time playing in the play area and the gardens. All in all a very nice experience and one we plan to repeat! Thank you Holly and staff!

We held my mum’s wake at The Riverside. Great service, great choice to preorder in advance for guests. We as a family had lots of comments on lovey the food was. Also a great selection of gluten free

Fantastic location, stopped for lunch. We split the small Nachos and the Jerk Chicken. Have to say the Jerk Chicken was outstanding!!! (Nachos were very good as well) Would highly recommend

Had Jerk chicken rice and peas and salad, Goat curry rice and peas and salad and chicken goujons and chips for my 2 year old grandson. All cooked and served beautifully. Lovely setting and lovely safe child's playground for the kids with plenty of seating available. Don't forget to sign in with car registration

Booked a single room with breakfast which was very reasonably priced given the location. Room was shared bathroom but I have to say the bathroom was immaculate. The room was pleasant enough but the TV didn't work, the sky box only showed one channel. There was also no milk for tea n coffee and no phone in the room to notify staff of the issues. Breakfast was very nice and served plated with juice and coffee at an agreed time. Recommended.

I always stay at the Riverside when visiting the area to see my family. It’s a real haven for me now. The setting is magnificent, right in the water, some of the rooms with a stunning view of the river and weir. Great too that the windows are one way so no one can see into the rooms. It’s a very friendly welcome, and the food is delicious. Breakfast in bed a real treat too. I do find some of the the rooms a tiny bit chilly. But they’re beautifully decorated and very clean and the beds are super cosy. Lovely to have fridge with fresh milk too.

We recently had our wedding reception at the Riverside and I honestly cannot fault it. Holly was incredibly helpful from start to finish. The team on hand in the night were amazing too! From setting up my little bits of decor just how I would have liked it and taking it all back down, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. They truly made the how process stress free which is one less thing to worry about when wedding planning! Oh and the burger bar was fab too! Thank you team for making our day!

Still great value for money, good food, friendly staff, must go back every once in a while

A lovely facility near the river but many opportunities lost in terms of the lack menu choices and the lack of friendly engagement from staff who clearly didn't want to be there. Overall, very disappointing.

We had visited as part of a day trip we booked on valentines day, it included a carvery in which was great for my partner as he was a meat eater - the only negative I have is the option for a vegetarian wasn't great (I myself have been vegetarian for over 5 years), tasty as part of a different meal maybe but didn't really fit the carvery/roast meal for me personally - everything else was delicious, drinks were lovely and the setting was amazing!!

I hadn't been to Bath/Bristol in a long time, so we decided to make it a family trip for the weekend. Riverside Inn did not disappoint! The rooms were super clean, the view was lovely, and the breakfast was great. We imagine it would be a lovely spot for the summer, too. We recommend it!

Great Sunday roast , as always. 30 of us went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Great service , atmosphere , food and staff. With great music from Taylor T .
