Food turned up so late and very cold

I cannot believe the portion size fish was huge and delicious and chips were also huge portions yum x

It makes no sense to call ahead for collection they don’t start to make the food until you reach the purpose of calling for collection especially in the rain is to avoid the wait!!! Then you rush to make my food is unacceptable!!!

Great service and the food was very nice.

Fish was overcooked and tasted frozen. Tartar sauce is supposedly homemade but tasted like it was from a jar. Chips were stale and we had to wait over 20 mins. Batter was crispy and nice amount of sauces though.

I had half chicken small chips and son had battered sausage. it was hot fresh and very tasty the owner delivered personally. the seasoning on the chicken brought back memories of when I was a child and the chip shop we used them brilliant. I highly recommend this chip shop I'm more than happy. .

Ordered a doner kebab for delivery. Got a box of meat and pitta bread on top. No salad, no chilli’s, nothing. Like an IKEA kebab you make yourself with loads of bits missing. Awful. And late delivery. Definitely won’t be ordering again.

Enormous piece of cod, nicely cooked, delicious chips, and a discount. I don't often leave reviews but this was the best fish and chip delivery I've ever had, will definitely be back.

Second time we have used this restaurant as the first experience was very good. Second time round again the food was delicious delivered earlier than stated, delivered still nice and hot by a friendly driver, nice portions, competitively priced, will definitely be using again!

Delivery time went from 35 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes in the end, after being told 5 minutes it’s on its way over on two occasions when I called to find out where my food was. When food arrived fish was semi hot and chips were stone cold. Not a great experience ordering for the first time from there. Don’t think I’ll order a delivery from there again.

Awful chicken that we ordered half a chicken and was sent 2 quarters and was brown and threw away

The chips are probably one of the best in Hemel. Tasted fresh, not overly greasy, nice and crispy, and all food wrapped well enough to be delivered hot.

extremely disappointed. the haddock was thin like plaice, not even 1/4 inch thick and was supposed to be a large also very very greasy! lumpy thick curry sauce and anemic chips... I wont be ordering again... total waste of money

Well used to absolutely love the fish and chips from here, but told to come back tomorrow for fish and chips, when i phoned, have no real answer to this 😂 Well wow just saw the reply from the owner and bitterly disappointed to be called a liar especially when I phoned it was on speaker and and the wife listened to the answer, shame really, like i said we loved the fish and chips from there, but it doesn't say much about any business that doesn't want a honest review, just checked phone and phoned at 18.08 pm, 3.4.24 and it was their number, it's not a problem but imagine if someone did have a important issue with this business, you just have to read owners reply to know the answer 🤷‍♂️😔

I had two potions of large chips and both potions were smaller than they used to give. I couldn't see the usual guy who serves food . The staff put the chips in a paper bag and most of the chips were sticked to the bag. They need to improve where they used to be.

Our order was so late, there isn't even an option to select for how late it was. It was an hour and a half late. When it arrived it was cold. The food was SO abysmal it was disgusting it literally tasted like 3 days old food, EVERY piece of our takeaway was clearly not fresh and was days old. The cod was stale and limp and cold. The haddock was the same. The battered sausage was stale, hard, tasteless and old. The chips were awful. None of it was fresh and all of it was cold. To wait an hour and a half for food and it turn up to be cold is insane. Also they’re so overpriced, how are they charging so high for food + service like this? Crazy

Friendly style, freshly cooked food, which I love and they always seem to take out the dirty chips.

Food was stone cold, over cooked and burnt… considering this is one of the more pricey fish & chip shops in Hemel I was dissapointed to say the least! Took 1hr 45 minutes to arrive when told 30 minutes! Chips were soggy and mushy! Not a happy customer and will not return!

Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was perfection! Great menu options and the restaurant looks good too. Very noticeably clean which is reassuring for sure. But the service was just brilliant! I didn’t catch the managers name but he was brilliant. Definitely will return!

Went in with husband to get large kebab, chips and seafood basket. Staff friendly as always, generous portions, good value for money.

Had to get off the M1 due to a crash going up north from London. Quickly Googled fish and chips and chose this one. Not disappointed. The man behind the counter was absolutely lovely (i also told him so after he'd served us and i had witnessed him dealing with other customers) and the "small" portion of chips with a saveloy sausage was huge! I wish he had his business near us in Chester. We would definitely be regulars.

Been waiting well over a hour for my order restaurant is less than 2 miles away. They refused to refund my order this restaurant is a con stay away. Ignore the good reviews as they are most likely to be fake.

really bad experience I ordered on Uber Eats around 7:45 and it is now 9:30 I live 10 minutes down the road and I have phoned up twice the first time my order was still being placed after an hour and the second time he told me that he left which was at 9:30 which is now to be precise and has told me he’s only just left and will be 10 minutes

The staff are lovely and friendly! We sat in to eat, the food was great and the portions were large. The children were delighted with conversation about the globe on the counter. We will definitely visit again when we’re in the area

I ordered 2 lots of sausage and chips at 20.10 via Uber eats. 21.10 the foodstill hasn't arrived so I phoned Riverside to be told the driver was 6 minutes away. 21.45 the food still hasn't arrived so I phoned Riverside again only to be greateed with attitude and bulls**t. 21.55 my food arrived, i live 1.2 miles away. It was cold, the sausage was half covered in soggy batter, the chips were also soggy and the curry sauce was watered-down and tasteless so we decided to cut out the middle and put it straight in the bin. It was a waist of £14.00 for well overpriced sausage and chips, we jusr didn't want to take the chance eating inedible food. Having to wait 1 hour 50 minutes for a portion of chips and 2 sausages as well is just taking liberties. At least highway robbers wore masks.

Always late delivering the food,when you phone to chase order,the staff cone across like its a major inconvenience that your chasing your order.

Went to this fish and chip shop in my lunch to be told 15 min wait for food as they just opened. I thought it may have been a few mins longer but 45 mins later I was leaving. The food was lovely but that times were disappointing as I didn’t get to eat it hot like planned due to running out of break

I had high hopes after reading all the wonderful reviews online, and after seeing their top notch food hygiene rating. unfortunately the food we received by delivery was terrible, good points: large portions, bad points: chips were soggy, fish was very thinly battered, burned somehow and was also quite soggy and frankly a chore to eat, disapointed and wondering who writes these reviews ? and how many may be shill reviews.

So ordered from here loads recently and has always been lovely..... but ordered tonight through just eat normally order through deliveroo and it took forever to arrive over 1 hour normally delivered within 25mins and the food was terrible overcooked and the chips were either burnt or bad potatoes just really disappointed 😞
