Fabulous food. Friendly service. Reasonable price. The sausage roll with mustard dressing was delicious. The setting f the cafe is very pretty and well maintained. A must place to go.

Ok so let’s start with the good bit. Service was friendly and quite efficient. Nice location on the stream with a rather disappointing outside eating area considering the great location. But….without doubt the worst flat white I have ever tasted. Best description would be lukewarm dishwater. Sausage roll looked amazing but was like microwaved dog meat truly horrific. Millionaire shortbread was edible but I’d lost my appetite at this point.

Visited yesterday with friends. Beautiful surroundings sat by the river. The food was lovely and generous portions and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!

The main issue here were the cream teas. Bought two and the scones were like rocks and shattered when cut. Extremely dry. Perhaps heating them up may have helped a bit? Too much effort? At £8 each we were disappointed and unfortunately the cafe was too busy for us to stand in queue to complain.

The lunches at the cafe are quite delicious and very generous. My friend had the quiche. It was warm and very cheesey she said. When she was about to finish she said “I could eat that all over again” because she enjoyed it so much. It’s busy in there and of course a lovely venue with theTest river all around

Bright clean place, nice selection of light bites lunches, including salads. And of course good selection of cakes. Service v good, pleasant people working efficiently. There are seats outside but we are sitting inside facing the large windows, eating and watching the rain falling on the River Test outside and feeling very satisfied.

The cafe is well presented and clean. The service was very fast, albeit with a modest range of choices (may be we were unlucky with cakes sold out). Food itself was good

We enjoyed coffee and a piece of carrot cake sitting in the garden area of the Riverside Cafe. The Americano was average. The carrot cake was good. The cafe offers gluten free options. Seating both inside and outside.

A very pleasant spot. Nice table by the river for tea and a truly interesting mill too. Even the chaps doing some landscaping were pleasant and considerate.

Whitchurch is a worthwhile place to visit and spend a full day browsing the various shops and cafes. So much to see in a relaxed atmosphere.

A very interesting place to visit with history to support it. The Riverside Cafe has a good menu, is very clean, and has very helpful staff. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

lovely place to sit and have a coffee but unfortunately the food wasn’t great. Me and my friend had a baguette esch. It had about three prawns in each baguette. Disappointing

I met up with a friend for the first time since lockdown and the surroundings here were perfect for a long chat. Everywhere was clean and clearly marked in accordance with Covid regulations. The drinks were served from a hatch by the friendly staff who made us feel welcome and we were entertained by a beautiful swan and her cygnets in the River Test. What a relaxing afternoon.

A very nice tidy and clean cafe servicing a good selection of food and drinks, cakes, toasties, rolls and jacket potatoes, all with various fillings. Also, has a shop selling a selection of goods.

We sampled the jacket potatoes and goat's cheese toastie, all delicious and well prepared. The coffee was excellent and so was the chocolate. Was told the soup was excellent also.

This was only a brief visit for a quick cup of tea and a chance to admire the beautifully clear and bubbling River Test. There were plenty of birds including herons to enjoy. Food and drinks were inexpensive and our 'tea lady' Rosanna was a pleasure to chat to. Gluten free and dairy free items available! A real pleasure!

This is a little gem on the banks of the River Test, fantastic views of the Mill, river, swans, ducks and grounds outside while inside the cakes, coffee and light lunches are excellent. The team couldn't do more to help and always go the extra...

Had some very nice paninis, sitting beside the river on manicured lawns on a lovely sunny day. You can eat at the cafe without doing the Silk Mill tour, which I thought was only average.

We visited the cafe at the mill as a cycling group and very friendly and efficient service, despite us being a group of 16 arriving together with excellent home made cakes.

A friendly local pub. The staff are attentive and friendly. It's a shame that there isn't any cask ales on, but maybe they haven't got the custom for real ale.

Always enjoyed popping into this pub, friendly staff and good service. Sadly the future for this place was written on the walls. Struggled to get clientele in this climate, hopefully the staff have been able to find employment elsewhere. Not nice to be made redundant just before Christmas.

We hired the conservatory and the Calleva catered for my son’s wake. The food was excellent and they kept topping it up. They catered for gluten and dairy intolerances well. The room was private and a perfect size for our group. Thank you.

A beautiful little country pub that is very relaxing, friendly, and warm just like a pub should be. Highly recommend
