We’ve passed this place lots of times on our way to St Aiden’s and always thought it looked like a pub, which it was (years ago)! Lovely and cosy inside, very friendly atmosphere and staff. Enjoyed the background music which seems to change often (they write the music playing on the blackboard). We went for breakfast which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Brilliant prices and everything well cooked. There was a bit of a wait but the garden area was full and was almost full inside. Can’t wait to get back and try out their cakes as they looked great, scones and a good selection of home baked cakes and traybakes, not your usual bought in sugary rubbish. Lunch sounded great too, the chef came in to write new specials on the board whilst we were there, so they obviously have fresh ingredients and cook it all from scratch. Also they have a craft shop with small individual businesses supplying lots of different gifts, aromatherapy items and environmentally friendly goods which were good value. See you soon and thanks for the great service and food!

Food was good, and value for money. There was a selection of toys and books to keep my little one occupied. The changing facilities were great, with a selection of nappies/breast pads/etc available should you need them, and in a unisex toilet!

At the end of an enjoyable walk, along with a group of friends we all sat and enjoyed drinks, cakes, pannini etc. in this delightful cafe. The staff were all welcoming, and were efficient in their service and delivery of our selected food and drinks. A popular venue for locals, as well as walkers, cyclists or passing trade. Beautiful crockery making it a delight to enjoy welcome refreshments with friends in a relaxing and comfortable environment. Seating also available outside.

If you are looking for something different head for Rivers Meet. Originally a pub now converted to a craft cafe offering wholesome local produce and great coffee, a really quirky shabby chic interior which embraces a relaxed atmosphere, you can happily sit with a coffee and read a paper or one of the many books and magazines there, a lovely place to pass an afternoon. There are also tables outside which lots of walkers and cyclists take advantage of and a vast range of craft classes available. The food is basic but always good and a warm welcome always awaits. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Strange review this one for me as I'm writing this 3 years after I went there for the first time. However I went on a first date here for coffee and cake. The setting aloud us to talk properly, enjoy a mutual love for good coffee and cake. The picture on trip advisor is the table I sat at!!!!!! Thank you Rivers Meet for providing the setting as we are still together 3 years later and going strong. Amazing what great coffee and cake can deliver.

What a strange place A cat sitting on the counter licking its private parts is not what I want to see in an eatery, despite being a cat owner myself. The owner is at best stand-offish, and seems to have managed to offend her neighbours by encouraging her customers to park on residents land. If you do decide to visit, spare a thought for the locals

We have been popping in here on and of since this place opened, and it is lovely. Everything is made from scratch. Don't come if you want fast food, go to gregs! And in all the years only had one let down meal. Called in yesterday for lunch during a bike ride with hubby. We were served by the nicest woman, ordered 2bacon, egg and mushroom scufflers, 1with tomato, and a portion of potato wedges, with garlic mayo dip to share. Well, we were cycling! We have to keep the energy levels up! Thats my excuse anyway. You have to know that the wedges don't come out of a pack. They are a jacket potato cut into big wedges and that is crisp shallow fried on the outside to make it like a wedge. They are amazing with the garlic mayo dip. As I said, everything is made from scratch, so we waited a good 25 mins. Not problem to us. The sandwiches were much fuller packed than I last remember them! 2 eggs in each, stacks of lovely mushrooms, not tinned rubbish! Lovely lean bacon, and I had 4 very thick juicy slices of tomatoes in mine. They were devoured and delish! A very large coffee for hubby, a very large pot of tea for me, and 2 sandwiches and wedges, don't forget the wedges, later we were on our way back home, very satisfied! I have said this before in other reviews. This is not just a tea room, it is a crafts place as well. Not my thing but I do find all the stuff in the on site shop interesting to look at. They also do classes for all sort of things from crochet, knitting, lampshade making, corsage making, to self help and hypnotherapy are just a few. Obviously people who are experienced come in for the day and do the courses not the cafe staff. They have info I believe on their website, but I don't know what it is, sorry. Oops

We stopped here for breakfast with our two grandchildren. From the outside it looks like a pub but the inside has been turned into a cafe and craft shop. The seating for the cafe is cramped and the largest table was taken by a sole occupant who was doing homework! Unfortunately the food and drinks were disappointing and the overall ambiance is slightly shambolic.

Popped in here on the way home, quite busy inside. Not much space for you to get to the counter and it took a few moments to be served, would have been nice to be acknowledged. Not nice to be stood waiting to be served with diners staring at you....We ordered tea and a sandwich and sat outside in the sun. Sandwich was ok, bread a little dry and not much mayo with the tuna, but edible. We have tried it at least.

Afternoon tea is £10 per person which is reasonable however the amount of sandwiches was disappointing compared to the amount of cakes. You get a choice of sandwich fillings but we found the sandwiches to be small and not have much filling in. This was not regular afternoon tea but the valentines selection. A nice venue and friendly staff. A cup of tea and a cake might be better value for money. Would go back but have something different to afternoon tea. There isn't much seating so if there are a few people going I would book in advance. Overall it's a pleasant cafe in an accessible location.

I've been here lots of times - as part of a big group and also with my family. They are incredibly welcoming to us as a group of mums - letting us park buggies in the craft room (when not in use) and taking orders from our table. They're not phased by crying babies and have an excellent changing facility. The outside space round the back is also quiet and a nice little sun trap!Really friendly staff and fabulous food. I've had breakfast and sarnies here but the cake deserves special mention - especially the cake sharing platter which means you don't have to struggle to choose!! The coffee is also superb; especially the latte. It's very very good value too.Interesting business concept and meeting place helps give it a friendly feel and an eclectic customer base. Lovely place to chill out for a bit.

Friday night was Pudding Club night, showcasing 5 summer puddings. As usual the varied choices were delicious and sparked a lot of discussion by the diners as we had to vote for seasonality, preference, choice of accompaniment etc. As one of my fellow diners said "you know, I would pay £8.95 a month just to come here for the pleasure of everyone's company", but of course the puddings are an added bonus! The vibe at Rivers Meet is amazing: warm, welcoming, inclusive, encouraging and creative in every way. Try it if you haven't been there already.

This converted pub makes a nice midway point on a circular cycle ride from home and I visited with my grandson. The place has a strange style but the bits and bobs about the decor combine to make a nice individual feel to it. We only had coffee and cake but these were fine and the cake tasted home made, always a bonus over catering packs. For crafty types, there's a shop within the building and the retained bar adds a bit of interest. The staff were friendly and looked after us even making sure my grandson's drink wasn't too hot for him. We'll be visiting again.

Rivers MEET is a regular haunt for my husband and I, and many of our friends. We have been countless times, and have NEVER ever had anything but top quality food and drinks, and excellent service. Not something that can be said of all places these days. We called in today after a long bike ride for lunch and, as always, we were not dissapointed! I noticed the tripadvisor sticker in the window, and was curious to see the reviews. Nearly all give rave reviews, but there were a couple of negative ones which quite frankly, are a LOAD OF RUBBISH. This prompted me to leave a review. One of the specials was pulled pork sandwich, had it before and it's amazing, very filling, and excellent value for money. But today it was a B.L.T with salad, a jacket potato with lots of cheese and salad, potato wedhes with garlic dip ( a must try for anyone), 2 very fresh sultana scones with jam and butter, a large coffee, and pot of tea for one, all for just over £14! Where else can you get a jacket potato , with filling for just £2.70!!! A pot of tea for just£1.50 and the scones for £1.70each?? Thoe people who said the cafe was poor value for money, well are they expecting it for free?!! And another thing, they do not use tinned tomatoes on toasted sandwich (well paninis actually) and never have. I should know, I have had them often enough! The owners and other staff are really friendly, and as everything it cooked fresh to order, when it is very busy and there is a bit more of a wait, they are always polite and apologetic. Another great thing is they source a lot of their ingredients locally, the bacon and sausages are excellent, and from a local butchers. I you are into any form of ARTS AND CRAFTS, (unfortunately I'm not), you will be in crafty heaven with the shop in there, and I believe they do lots of different craft classes too. I can't rate those I'm afraid as I have never done one! All in all this is a super, quirky, and relaxing gem of a place, and I assure you, the cheap prices are not reflected in the quality of the meals and cakes!!
