River View Chinese Restaurant in The Vale of Glamorgan

First and last time for us. Special fried rice was not fried like a boiled mess, not much meat. Chow mein was dry no beansprouts just greasy noodles. Spare ribs sauce wasn't great meat was dry. Attempted to be cooked by someone who cant cook. I feel ripped off. The only plus was the complimentary prawn crackers.

Mostly used for takeaways but there is a lovely restaurant upstairs with great food & service. Don't overlook those restaurant for an evening meal in Cowbridge. All our dishes were excellent.

Food was lovely tasted very fresh. Different from usual Chinese because the veg tasted freshly done. Don't feel horrible after eating it like some other places. Recommend!

Can't comment on food or service as closed when phone rings, but not open. Drove to restaurant to order only to discover that they are closed. Google times says open, awful service.

I love this chinese restaurant yes they arnt getting much business and it's not there fault they are really kind staff and they are trying there best I love there chow mein especially the beef and the chicken balls and sour dip is wonderfull I go here every day and I just love the kindness and the environment in the summer its nice to sit on the bridge listening to the birds or sitting inside looking at the fish tanks please come here guys I would recommend ive tried the curry and I find it Ok i don't know why people say its bad because its not the best time is the evening I like the most as it mainly quiet the price isn't bad but dose sometimes a pain but I know why they put it high because they don't get enough business and the people in cowbridge don't go here alot it's quite sad how they are missing out on a delicious meal thank you river view chinese

Heating broken. Restaurant took our booking but utterly failed to say they had no heating tonight. Simply too cold to eat here so we upped sticks and left. Suggest you all check if booking for the next few weeks, whether they have heat! Wasted our time!

Thought I'd give this place a second chance,still the worst chicken curry I've ever tasted sloppy pre boiled chicken, the cheapest green salty curry sauce, hardly any onion 2 button mushrooms absolutely disgusting never again, beef in black bean sauce was like eating oversalted leather and tiny portion of that.

Had a delivery and in fairness great foo yung but the worst tasting Chinese chicken curry I have ever tasted extremely salty and a real strange unappealing colour also sweet and sour pork comes saturated in the sauce which makes the batter sickly and soft.

Absolutely shocking, the service was one of the worst and they kept on mixing up our food. Plus the food was terrible. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN

The worse Chinese I have ever had Most of it (£24 worth) Went in the bin.👎

Friday night take away...Outstanding tonight. Crispy beef, Satay Chicken, Chicken chow mein and sweet and sour house special.. Fried rice and some chips...Well made, nice and hot and very tasty.

Had appalling service yesterday. Ceri is so rude. When the food eventually turned up it was awful. The rice was like easy cook rice, the Aldi 45p sort, and the duck tasted like loofah. Truly awful.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant and it definitely won't be our last. The place was clean and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant experience, even entertaining our three year old and really making her feel like the most important part of their evening. We went with the buffet option and all the food was tasty and brought out fresh and at no point were we waiting for service. I really can't recommend this place enough. If the staff do read these comments then I'd like to say a huge thank you to them. You were fab and your restaurant is wonderful. We look forward to visiting again

A lovely Chinese Restaurant serving scrumptious first class food. Meat and vegetables are really tender. I had the Beef with Cashew Nuts and Noodles, which was superb. The China Tea was certainly different to what I usually drink, but it was nice. Lovely furnishings too.

Very disapointing, prawn toasts overcooked and inedible, singapore chow mien just noodles, chicken and mushrooms all mushrooms very little chicken. Praw crackers free and fine.

So, called at 7pm said "we can get food to you at 8pm" fine, we know times are different. 812, nothing. Called, said they we're on their way 0845. Food turned up, sorry, we've been busy......food wasn't all that great and turned up cold. Not for me.

gave us the wrong order and denied it. refused to give any refund and spoke quite rudely to us.

Ordered from here first time ever tonight. Last time too it was bloody awful. Small portions, hot and sour soup wasn't hot or sour. Rice bland, spicy veg ridiculously oily and generally bland. Go to Jade garden in Talbot Green instead (when it opens again)

Dont ask for a fried rice as no matter how much you explain you'll get a boiled rice. Authentic fried rice isn't what you deliver sorry. Last time i order Rogers from Llantwit is a true chinese

The best Chinese I have tasted, I'm not a fan but this place was incredible so much choice. Freindly and welcoming. Fantastic with children as well. We travel from Cardiff just to try this restrant and will definitely be eating hear again. Thank you all

Disgusted with this restaurant. I have been ordering Chinese from them for years and tonight they would not let me pay by card over the phone, which they always used to do. Said I had to collect it, they would not deliver without cash on delivery but I could pay by card if I collected it. What's the difference!!!

Food was ok. However service and arrival of food in a timely fashion could be better. It was the little things like 10 mins from a main course arriving to the accompanying rice turning up that dropped the stars

Excellent chinese meals and good service. Has a balcony and you can eat outside on a nice day or on the little 'patio' by the front door.

Somethings changed here over the last few months... Customer service is virtually non existent and the food is distinctly average.have tried to give them another go a few times but this place is definitely not what it used to be! Give it a miss next time...
