River Cafe in Hounslow

Ordered an omelette which states comes with chips. When asked if there are any chips was met with rudeness from the manager who said it hadn't been ordered. But it states on the menu it comes with it. Then he started banging things in the kitchen was such an uncomfortable experience I wouldn't waste my time. He was so rude and the food was basic £6 for an omlette and a few spoons of beans. My 3 year old grandson ate the entire plate not substantial for an adult. Was hoping the chips would bulk up the meal for him to be honest.

We (a family of four) went here to get a Full English breakfast and it did not disappoint! The front staff (two women) were really friendly and welcoming and the chef at the back seemed passionate. The food did not disappoint, it was large portions, and you get free tea/coffee and toast with the set meals. It was busy on the day which showed that the place was popular with the locals. I would definitely come again.

This place is super super super bad, I didn’t enjoy the experience at all!! The staff aren’t nice at all!!!!!!! They treated me very badly and they weren’t welcoming at all. The place isn’t clean at all, the area is really dodgy, and the food quality is really bad - and pricy for no reason at all. I do not recommend at all. Do not visit it’s a bad place you won’t enjoy it.

We were stopping at the Premier Inn over the road and wanted a local cafe with a choice for breakfast, instead of the standard buffet style at the premier inn. We had four breakfasts at the Cafe & tried the eggs & bacon, toast and the bubble & squeak is very good with the breakfast options. Definitely worth the walk over the road an having your breakfast freshly prepared and brought to your table. We had extra top ups of tea when requested, the owners where wonderful and their prices are very reasonable (cheaper than the Premier Inn). The latte's are also very good!! and the baguette sandwich was welcome for the train journey back!!

Found this gem of a cafe opposite the hotel we were staying in. Very warm welcome, Very friendly staff, especially the chap who runs it. Food was superb! Had breakfast. Real hearty proper grub, none of this vegan nonsense. Proper traditional cafe. Lots of friendly locals. If only there were more cafe's like River Cafe. Keep it up!

We were staying at the premier in. Across the road and we went all 3 mornings to the river cafe. It is family owned and only 2 people working and as it was a busy weekend they were struggling to cope with orders. But they were polite, kind and worked as fast as they could. There were 12 in our group and we tried a wide variety of the meals and they were all very good. The coffee was excellent as well. We would highly recommend.

Have been coming here for a few years now and the food doesn't disappoint.it's always hot and tastes nice. The owners are very nice and welcoming. The Apple pie and or rice pudding are tasty aswell.should be going back for another visit soon.

Lovely home cooked breakfast. Friendly & fast service. Just what we needed before a hour & a half drive home. Sometimes these places look not so inviting from the outside. But you need to go in to get the family feel.

Yummy breakfast. Best sausage,egg and Hash-browns I’ve had in an all-day-breakfast ‘greasy spoon’ type cafe. It’s not the cheapest and the portions are not as large as some, but well cooked and better quality produce than I was expecting. For me, this is just the right balance. Hubby also felt the same about the sausage and his chips. We will be back, no doubt!

We were so pleased to find this lovely cafe in a pretty square in London. A real 'oasis' with friendly owner and staff and a breakfast which saved the day! The quality of the food and coffee was second to none and combined with the setting and some great local characters took me back to the London I used to know and love. Thank you one and all at the River Cafe! As a tip for those staying in the area, don't end up paying ridiculous prices for plastic food in the local hotels, take a short stroll to the River Cafe and for a fraction of the price have a real breakfast or meal that you will recall with pleasure!!

we saw this little cafe and thought why not! outside area scruffy but little gem of a cafe..staff just lovely and well cooked full English cuppa and toast £7 what's not to like.....recommend

On entering you felt the warmth of the welcome. The service was excellent but the fare only average at best. We both had roast chicken that was served in good time. It was tasty enough, but the size of the portions were not exactly generous and the cabbage like the carrots were overcooked. The chicken quarter was hot but the gravy was lumpy. The table was clean and the chairs were comfortable.

This Cafe does not pretend to be anything more than an "All Day Breakfast" and "Jacket Potato" place. If that is what you want - combined with good service and a friendly welcome - then look no further! We enjoyed our visit and the food was absolutely fine - and cheap. I would always recommend this for quick, cheap eats and a VERY CLEAN environment. This is NOT a cheap. dirty "transport cafe" place. It is a well-known, well appreciated "Community" eaterie. Try it and enjoy it. You will be pleased with the food and the service and teh prices!

We were looking for a late lunch and just happened to come across the River Café. We received a warm welcome by the staff. The food choice was good and was well cooked. The coffee was also superb. The value for money was excellent.

For £7 with tea and toast. It wasn’t a disgrace. But I’m sat here still hungry. The full breakfast was bacon x 2, sausage, beans, tomatoe and mushrooms tea and toast. But it was all on the meagre side for the price. It did have good flavour though and was well cooked.

One of the friendliest spots in Brentford. We regularly call up and collect breakfast rolls in the morning, fresh, tasty and good value for a full one. Sit down meals also good, and always served with a smile!

Friendly staff, welcomed on arrival. Lots of choice for breakfast you won't be disappointed. Used by the locals so that's a good sign in my book

We had breakfast here twice during our visit to London. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was great. This is a basic cafe but excellent. The premises are clean as was the loo.

Excellent owners, top food, very friendly and everything nice and clean. Good prices. You can't go wrong.

Great food, generous portions, decent price, clean place, friendly staff, what more can you ask?! Despite it being very busy, I did not wait long for their food. Tea and toast come with the set meals. Would recommend and definitely come again.

Disappointed the food was greasy the bread was cheap doughy and stale. Not particularly clean, the bathroom could do with a bleach.

Just a good-hearted old fashioned café. Nothing fancy, but a good menu of variations of the fry-up. Lovely mug of coffee and thick slices of toast. I stopped in one morning - it was a choice of a Premier Inn breakfast or to come here - I chose the River Café and felt I got the better deal. Cheerful and pleasant staff.
