Ritorno Covent Garden in Camden

I had read a review of the restaurant and it looked good enough to try - so we did. I wasn't too concerned that the restaurant was empty at 6.30pm - in retrospect, people may have known something we didn't. The service - shocking. From waiters actually not knowing what soup of the day was, to hugging each other by the cash till, to not ensuring we had drinks, to not realising that our starters and main course were not fit for purpose. I cannot describe the food and what is allowed to come out of the kitchen needs looking at. The octopus contained non existent octopus but a lot of wet celery. The steak was moo ing, despite asking for medium rare. I could go on and on. The bill came and service charge had been added. The General Manager was good enough to realise that we had been served up a shocker and waived the bill. He did promise to email me the next day to invite us back. The invite never came. All in all - will never go back.

We went to this restaurant on May 16th,2019. We took two dishes of pasta (tagliatelle and ravioli). To be honest, it was disgusting, tasteless and very bad. We paid £41 for two people, very expensive for the quality of the food. The atmosphere wasn’t good: loud music, no customer focus. An advice, save your money and move away from this restaurant. Nous avons dîné dans ce restaurant un samedi soir (16/03). Nous avons pris deux plates de pâtes (tagliatelle à la truffe et raviolis). La bouffe était de très mauvaise qualité, pâtes insipides sans goût (dur comme du plastique). L’ambiance n’était pas au rendez vous non plus: musique trop forte, serveurs dénués de tout sens de la clientèle. Nous avons payé £41 pour deux plats. Vu la qualité de la bouffe, c’est une arnaque! Passez votre chemin, ce restaurant est vraiment nul! Il y a d‘autres restos dans le coin qui en valent plus la peine et beaucoup moins chers.

Pre dinner før teater, så vi kom tidligt. Masser af særdeles servicemindedpersonale, så vil følte os straks velkommen. Menukortet er forholdsvis lille, men derfor også overskueligt. Vi bestilte 2 forskellige pizza, en risotto og en flaske vin. Dette blev ca 100 £, hvilket efter Londonstandard er acceptabelt. Risotto var meget velsmagende, men pizza var lidt mere ordinære, men ok. Denne aften var der DJ, hvilket var mere generende end underholdende. Lydniveauet var for højt, selvom han flere gange skruede ned......for kort efter at skrue op igen. Dette trækker desværre lidt ned i den samlede bedømmelse. Vi kunne sagtens finde på af komme igen.

I went to the theatre with my daughter but we had neglected to book anywhere to eat. We stumbled upon this lovely place after passing many full restaurants and they managed to squeeze us in straight away. The decor was good service was the right sort of attentive and the food excellent plus it wasn’t stupidly expensive either. I had the risotto and it was wonderful. So pleased we found this.

Visited this restaurant today, in general it was quite good but we had an issue with one of the meals that was not dealt with satisfaction. My Pasta meal was under cooked and the filling filling was very watery . The other meals were adequate but nothing special.

I went for lunch today and a truly wonderful experience in an oasis of calm with very good Italian food. Firstly the decor is so wonderful and the tables give it the impression that you are the only ones dining. The decor is magnificent but the real joy comes with the food and if you like good Italian cooking you have to cone the right place. Stefano is the Maitre d' and he makes sure that it is team work. For the food everything looks delicious so I will leave it to you try the fine dining. Buon appetito

On Sat 23rd of Feb 2018 I was looking for a place to get cold drinks and sit down, my wife and I had our 9yr old and 14yr old twins in tow. We had been sight seeing in London and fair play to the kids they had been on their feet all day. We already had a meal booked for later elsewhere before seeing a show and simply wanted a break. I found all the nearby pubs rammed due to Rugby being on and some other establishments clearly didn't want kids etc. I walked into Ritorno asking if we could simply get some drinks and the lady with the long blonde hair said "of course you can, families are always welcome". Pleased at this I said we will sit out of the way of Diners etc and again the lady said "sit where you like, your welcome" We had soft drinks and apple juice for the kids and my wife had white wine which she said was excellent. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat but they deserve a good review for their friendly welcome and attitude to kids. If we end up in that neck of the woods for another show in the future, this is where we shall eat because the staff made it a place that we want to revisit. Thank you

there was a group of us ladies that arrived at this restaurant while our husbands were at a masons meeting, in January. The look of the restaurant is nice and also was the staff up untill we had to complain, were nice, also. two of us had the risotto ai gamberi for main while it tasted ok it was very minimal on the plate and no prawns. Another lady ordered a basic pizza which had to be returned as it was watery. We spoke to the manager who informed us that the food is authentic, I don't think so. She was asked if he would like something else, which she said yes and then had to wait a while for her new main which she choose a burger. we were then ignored. when it came to the bill they left on the price of the pizza, which we had to speak to the manager again. then they tried to say that we did'nt pay the service charge which was optional but we did pay some towards it. Unfortunately I don't think we will return.

Typically London, our waiter had a pretty poor command of the English language but everyone was friendly enough. Four out of five of us were very pleased but my wife's meal was a little strange. Flattened chicken, to the point it looked like a tortilla wrap or pancake but lacking a sauce. Looked dry and definitely wouldn't order it again. Sadly the waiter's English didn't enable us to understand how the dish was served!! Would I give back? Yes, definitely!

We had an amazing evening with good food. Pizza was very good. Friends ordered pasta cacio and pepper and we shared parmigiana. The taste was excellent like having one in Italy. The staff were amazing in their attention to detail as well as their warm and welcoming spirit.

Wanted to catch up with some former colleagues one of who is a vegetarian and had to be in Great Queen St for a Masonic meeting, so decided to try the replacement for Wolfe's. It could be so much better. The menu is good especially the set price lunch one with a nice mix of pizza and pasta, meat fish and veggie options. The basic layout has changed very little, they've done away with the raised seating areas, but it's still not wheelchair friendly due to the steps at the front and the very narrow toilets. There's the big bar down one side, which now has high stools to sit at to eat and a comfy seating area in the window. The food itself was very good, nice and hot a nd very tasty. The problem was the service, we were seated almost immediately with menus but took nearly 15 mins for the waitress just to ask what drinks we'd like and only when she brought them over did she take our order. It took another 15 minutes for the starters to arrive and half an hour for the main courses. It wasn't even as though the restaurant was busy, in total it took nearly 2 hours for two courses. We noticed that all the other customers were having to wait as long as well It's certainly not a place to pop in for a quick lunch.

I took my work clients for dinner last night (Saturday @19:45). The server was very impatient through out the dinner and wouldn't let us enjoy our meal and was rushing. The service was terribly slow at their end. @10:40pm the lady in-charge of the coats at front desk and said - 'Can I give you coats as I need to go home'. They kind of pushed us out at 10.45pm! No doubt this place was nearly empty on a Saturday night where people queue up to get into other restaurants on the same street. Not going back there!

Popped in randomly to have a dinner. We had such a good time! Started with the lovely reception girls on arrival, then food was brilliant, cocktails are like nowhere else! Staff and management was very friendly. Felt like home ;)

When we first arrived very impressed with decor and seating. But once the food arrived several of us were very disappointed. Some starters overcooked., a couple of the mains were overcooked, and one was under cooked. Will not be returning.

We had a lovely evening here. I am a fussy eater and the pizza was delicious, the service was great, really helpful staff and all in all a really really good evening. Will definately be going back

Where do I start... We found this FAB Restaurant by chance!! Me and my Wife went to the Theatre last night and stumble across this lovely looking Restaurant. We were welcome in from 2 very charming young Men, Francesco and Giacomo... I assume are the Owners of the place, they looked after us like no equal and nothing was too much, I had a Beef Carpaccio and my Wife had Tuna Tartare for starters. While we were waiting for our starters Francesco ordered for us a complimentary Focaccia / Pizza.. WHAT A TOUCH!!! As main I had a Beef Angus Tagliata and my wife had a North Atlantic Cod and we shared some broccoli, lentils and a mix salad. The Food was divine!!!! We didn't manage to eat any dessert due to the fact we were too full :) But will be back very soon as it's looked delicious looking at other tables around us. Giacomo suggested us a phenomenal bottle of wine.. What else can I say. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for great food great atmosphere very reasonable prices and a very classy place. Found this place by accident while in London. Best eggplant Parmesan that I’ve had in a long time. Bar tender was very friendly and introduce me to a new kind of Italian wine called Gavi.. Highly recommend this place!

We had a great meal here pretheatre on a Saturday afternoon. My wife had the tagliatelle bolognese and I had the Ritorno burger. Both dishes were piping hot and we accompanied these with a Pinot Grigio which was excellent.

Nice ambience. Overall general presentation of decor and staff was good. Staff however were uninterested disorganised and meal was disappointing -aubergine starter was over cooked. Pasta too much butter- lacking in seasoning and couldn’t taste the sage. Sausage crumb was distasteful.

Excellent restaurant and bar. Good food, although the portions are on the small side. Very friendly staff and good service. Buzzy atmosphere and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

It was the decor which really pulled us in and the food made us stay. It was delicous and the staff were really friendly
