Giotto Italian Restaurant in Camden

The food was very good but the service was very peremptory and impersonal. We had booked for Valentine's day in the early evening and were told in no uncertain terms that we only had the table for 90 minutes. Shan't bother to go back.

The food is just average... It's not bad, but It's a waste of money to eat there The service is not so good haha They pour you water and charge you a service fee haha Anyway, the atmosphere is not so good

I had salmon pasta which was nicely done. The service was good and friendly. The ambience of the place was fresh with plant walls and ambient music. What made me a little conscious about my eating was the constant hoovering around of waiters trying to move tables here and there. I was also told to leave after an hour, but at least no one came to rush me. This was informed only after I was seated. Overall a fine experience.

Food was excellent, service initially great, then the second we put down our cutlery they bought over the bill, i still had a glass of wine to drink and then we were hounded every minute until we paid the bill and were asked to leave. Such a shame as really spoilt our evening, the prices are fairly high for a pizza/pasta and to be treated so badly is not acceptable.

Food is well prepared, hot and tasty. Floor staff are attentive but not intrusive. Cosy atmosphere and the visible bustle outside seems a million away.

Food is well overpriced for what it is, staff were nice and meant well but really weren't on it or sharp; bringing our food over and asking "If we ordered" or "is this yours?!", rather than stating the name of the dishes they brought. Good wait skills don't take much, but when they're bad they're all you can notice! Service charge of around 12% (which didn't look optional) was a bit rich considering. Decor is nice, but probably not on the agenda a second time.

Piensa que solo porque están en una posición privilegiada en Londres no tienen que preocuparse porque no verán la misma cara dos veces, una pena y un desperdicio de mi dinero ganado con tanto esfuerzo.

Had a lovely meal - visited on a Tuesday prior to the theatre. We had no reservation but got the last table in the restaurant! The service was very good, attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

I booked a table for four at this restaurant, but just four hours before our reservation, I received an email informing me that our booking had been cancelled due to a lack of available tables. This is both outrageous and unacceptable, especially given the short notice and the fact that they chose to email rather than call. We could easily have missed the email and arrived at the restaurant expecting a meal, only to be met with disappointment and frustration. I do not recommend this place.

I booked a table for 13 for tonight over 2 weeks ago. This is an annual family trip to the theatre where we only get together once a year. Giotto canceled our booking at lunchtime today, even after I confirmed it yesterday. They offered me “private dining” in their sister restaurant (savour faire). If I’d wanted to book a “French” restaurant I would have done. We were put in the basement, the toilets are dirty and damp, cardboard on the floor, the food was barely average and the only positive was the nice waiter. Lots of verbal apologies but nothing offered for free or discounts. Furious 😡

I really like to eat here thanks to our great waitress very kind and smiling!

We had booked here before going to the theatre. Got there and had to wait 35 minutes past the booking time to get seated, even then they put us in two tables in different parts of the restaurant as they couldn't fit us in (there were only 5 of us so not a huge group). A group after us had the same issue. Looking at their TripAdvisor reviews this is a common issue. My pizza arrived on a cold plate, luke warm, you'd get better at pizza express. My families pasta dishes all looked pretty basic (cold plates too) Rip off place aimed at less informed tourists, given it's London you have far better choice virtually everywhere!

Lovely Italian restaurant. Classic menu. Delicious pizzas. Quick service and only 5 minute walk from the Dominion Theatre. A little pricey, £60 for 2 pizzas, 2 cokes and 2 teas! Pizza was yummy though!

Popped in on a Friday evening for a quick dinner - lovely restaurant, excellent atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Service was a bit poor, was really difficult to get anyone's attention so we could order anything so slow service and then we were told we had to be out within an hour as the table was booked for after us. Understandable but didn't really feel like that was our fault. Carbonara was poor. The price that you're paying for the portion size and the quality is insane. Came out luke warm, it was so dry and bland like they forgot the sauce. Was just disappointing for almost £20. I will say the decor and atmosphere was nice, and in a good location. Red wine also good.

Lovely meal with good service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. I'd read other reviews about people feeling like they were being rushed for their table, and I can see why as there was a queue as we left, but we didn't experience this feeling ourselves. A bit expensive, but that's central London. Would definitely visit again.

Despite the correct decoration, the atmosphere, the service and the food are much too expensive, the value for money is not there at all, despite the reservation, they still separated us and made two different tables, I do not advise you not this place at all.

My only criticism is that the bill was brought to us whilst we were still finishing our drink. We only had a main meal and were there for just over an hour & felt hurried and pushed out. There were still plenty of tables free. For that reason I wouldn’t go again !

Considering the food came out all at once which was not requested, Arrya who i believe is a team leader was fantastic he immediately understood and showed gratitude. This would have been our 4th visit and if not for Arrya it would probably would have been our last. We will be back again.

Not even close to authentic Italian, the meal was awful.

As a lover of Italian cuisine, I have to be very strict in my critique. We arrived at the restaurant with a reservation, but to our great disappointment, the manager informed us that the place was fully booked and that we would only have 1 hour to finish our meal if we chose to stay. This is unacceptable. If you have available booking slots, why doesn’t your system work properly? This is not the customer’s fault. Despite this, we were seated in a cramped corner with the constant stress of having to finish our meal quickly. I ordered a carbonara tagliatelle, and honestly, it was a disaster. The bacon was awful—lukewarm and poorly cooked—and the ingredients lacked the flavor and finesse you expect from an Italian restaurant. It tasted like something I could easily whip up at home. From the flow of service to the quality of the food, everything was wrong. On the positive side, I must admit that the atmosphere, tables, and overall decor of the restaurant were well thought out and quite elegant. However, that alone cannot save such a disappointing experience.

Esto es inaceptable. Si tienes espacios disponibles para reservar, ¿por qué tu sistema no funciona correctamente? Esto no es culpa del cliente. A pesar de esto, estábamos sentados en una esquina estrecha con el estrés constante de tener que terminar nuestra comida rápidamente. Pedí un tagliatelle de carbonara, y honestamente, fue un desastre. El tocino era horrible —tibio y mal cocinado— y los ingredientes carecían del sabor y la finura que esperas de un restaurante italiano. Sabía a algo que podía preparar fácilmente en casa. Desde el flujo del servicio hasta la calidad de la comida, todo estaba mal. En el lado positivo, debo admitir que el ambiente, las mesas y la decoración general del restaurante estaban bien pensados y bastante elegantes. Sin embargo, eso por sí solo no puede salvar una experiencia tan decepcionante.

I do not recommend it to people who want to eat ITALIAN. Proposals of dishes which have nothing Italian apart from their names and with a simple and not great taste. We came on the 25th, I had booked after seeing the very attractive "Christmas menu" on the site but once there we were told that it was not possible because we had to pre-order when booking... afterward verification it was never mentioned on their site and other tables near us were fooled. Instead, go to a real, authentic Italian restaurant run by Italians who know their gastronomy and don't waste your money here.

Firstly, I want to start off by saying that the food was absolutely delicious. The food came after about 20 minutes. The staff were polite. The salad came last, which was surprising, but after eating, we realized it was because of the freshly made croutons. Overall, I really recommend this place if you have the money for it.

Great service, everything went quickly and at Christmas, the owner tries to ensure that his customers are always satisfied and that nothing is missing. - the only star I would deduct was the bruschetta, unfortunately they weren't as fresh as expected (bread wasn't homemade) but otherwise the price-performance ratio was okay. I would come back!!

Great outdoor seating arrangement, very kind and bashful service (Yousef). The Affogato is amazing after a nice meal, perfect wrap up for a great night.

Vinimos aquí como un paseo - en un día de Navidad. Estaban sentados en la mesa que estaba un poco aislada. Mesa que estaba justo al lado del inodoro, por lo que cada vez que alguien abre una puerta del inodoro el mal olor supera toda la experiencia. Hemos pedido una “focaccia con romero” y buñuelos de calamar como aperitivos. Muy malo, soso, calamares sin sabor. Foccacia era solo una masa de pizza horneada en el horno con un chorrito de romero seco. Para el plato principal tomamos Lasaña y Lubina en la parrilla. La lubina se servía con zanahorias hervidas y brócoli sin ningún condimento, así como no se asaba a la parrilla como decía en el menú. Este restaurante es un insulto a la prima italiana y por desgracia solo una trampa turística. Vale la pena mencionar que los servidores son muy agradables y amables, pero eso es todo.

Average tasting food, not homemade pasta

We booked for three people .. took 3 very good pizzas and quality spritz, a bottle of water bill 99 pounds ..! we collected our plates barely finished and asked to quickly free the table for other customers .. a disgrace .. ultimately a very bad experience…

Good food and service ,wine needs some improvement

DO NOT VISIT!!! Giotto near dominion theatre. Manager who claimed she was the owner of this establishment shouts at customers. Never experienced anything so terrible in my life. If this is her restaurant she won't be in business much longer if that's how she treats customers. To the actual owners if they are not her, I would recommend getting a different manager otherwise she's going to ruin your restaurant.

i made a reservation at 7pm and they pushed it to 8:30pm and when I arrived it at 8:20 they made me wait more than 20 minutes for a table i alrwady booked for

Hice una reserva para 3 personas para almorzar aquí. Llegué antes que mis amigos y cuando me preguntaron sobre mi reserva le dije al miembro del personal que había hecho una reserva. Sólo dijo "1 minuto" y se fue a hacer otros trabajos Después de eso me pasó a otro colega que al principio me hizo preocupar, ya que no podía encontrar mi reserva, que afortunadamente más tarde lo hizo. Luego me llevaron a una bonita mesa donde esperaba a mis amigos. Después de que ambos llegaron pedimos algunas bebidas y aceitunas para comenzar. Sin embargo, antes de que pudiéramos pedir nuestra comida real nos trasladaron a una mesa más pequeña. Comprensiblemente como un grupo más grande iba a llegar. Sin embargo, eso fue bastante burocrático y finalmente tuvimos que pedir nuestra comida. Y la comida llegó rápidamente y sabía muy bien. Sin duda lo recomendaría. Fue un poco decepcionante lo desorganizado que se encontró el personal, y si vuelvo aquí de nuevo me gustaría que trabajaran mejor en equipo y no realizaran una persecución salvaje con su sistema de reservas

Accepted our booking online and when we got there they told us it was a glitch and they left us with no booking on a Saturday night. Shocking service

The food was way to overpriced for what you get, I got pasta and it tastes like the mix in sauce you can buy in Tesco, We were just finished eating and the waiter rushed over cleared our stuff and took the coke before we had even finished i. We felt rushed out and for what we got it wasn’t worth the amount of money they change!!!

Solíamos venir aquí hace años y fue increíble... nunca volveremos. Claramente han ido por la ruta de la 'comida rápida - beneficio rápido'. Avoid.

Even after reservations they denied table. It’s pathetic they shouldn’t be taking reservations online if the cannot serve the customer. We have always had amazing time here but this incident we are very disappointed.

The place is OK. Very small. Only one toilet (apart from disabled one which was locked) is right next to eating tables, and the toilet was dirty! The food was basic in taste, quite bland. Friend sitting next to me said she had better pizza from frozen at home..

Me encantaría dejar una crítica positiva, pero no puedo! Había reservado una mesa para 2 personas para una comida después de un espectáculo en SohoPlace. Por desgracia, el restaurante decidió cancelar mi reserva mientras estábamos disfrutando del espectáculo. Después del espectáculo fuimos a tomar unas copas cerca del restaurante y ambos estábamos hambrientos y deseando nuestra comida. Revisé mis correos electrónicos y me enviaron un mensaje indicando que no cumplirían con la reserva. No impresionado. Muchas gracias a Obicà Mozzarella Bar - Poland Street por aceptar una reserva de última hora con nosotros.

The Chicken a la Cacciatore was delicious! Loves the flavors of the sweet peppers and the perfectly sautéed onion in the the exquisitely seasoned tomato sauce. The staff was courteous as well! Highly recommend this place.

Food is frozen definitely not fresh food. After I paid bill £212 my husband asked to speak to manager as we were told before we ordered the calamari was fresh, which is a lie as it was frozen, salmon was like rubber it was also frozen food, pasta waterey only good thing about this place was red wine!!. Avoid this restaurant I certainly would not Recommend It !!!! .

It seems it's a fancy place but don't get scared by it... it's not too expensive and the food is actually great and it comes in a good size. BTW their Tagliatelle Alfredo with Roasted chicken is pure perfection!

One of the most overpriced places in London, ignore the reviews and find a better Italian place nearby. Toilet more dirty than mcdonalds, dirty floors, tables all show they are decades old when you look at the corners, 0 Italians in staff. Okay level waitresses, but the food, soulless atmosphere and dirtiness kill the experience.

Lunch experience To be fair the lasagna was good and the service was good too. We asked for a table next to a wall socket to charge our phones, the waiter said there is no wall socket next to a table. Later on a group of girls entered the restaurant and asked for the same request (a table next to wall socket) and he said yes and guided them to the table !!! It was our first day in London so i didn’t wish to ruin my day and confront the waiter about it. Very strange behavior from the lead waiter !!!

We had a nice seat next to a window. We all enjoyed our food. I liked my 4 cheese pizza, super yummy! Everything was served in good time and it's handy to come here after going around the British Museum.

The perfect pre theatre dinner - a lovely atmosphere, quick service (30 mins from ordering to paying the bill), really lovely food and nice people…a 2 min walk from Shaftesbury Theatre. Couldn’t be better.

They have fallse advertising outside, the 24.95 it`s only for lounch, but it`s not written on the advertising board, and i said to the waiter that it`s not ok, but she said that she knows about it.

Was really underwhelmed by the food here. Both my friend and I ordered the salmon. The salmon was quite small for the price, and the sides were just fries and a few pieces of steamed broccoli and carrots. The cream sauce was too heavy and acidic, with an over-generous dose of both lemon and capers.

Very nice place to sit down and enjoy your meal. Very comfy and modern atmosphere that feels elegant. Food comes very fast, and the servers are attentive and respectful. Thanks to the chef as well :) would come back. Recommend the ravioli

A restaurant in a very convenient location. The prices were a bit high, but the ravioli pasta was probably the best pasta we’ve had in London so far. The pizza also tasted good, though I have to mention that the dough was a bit unusual. The pizza felt a bit too flat—I had expected it to be fluffier. The value for money was okay, but the prices could be adjusted slightly, especially considering the 12.5% service charge added to the bill.

Super tasty food! Appetizer; tomato bruschetta. Main course; pizza & pasta marinara. Didn't have to wait long. Nice modern environment.

Booking was easy, with additional text confirmation on the day prior and date of the booking. We arrived early and were kindly seated at our table ahead of schedule. However multiple groups turned up with ‘reservations’ only to be told that they had no availability and turned away. The service was rushed, with plates being cleared whilst others were eating. Similarly people were still eating their main when the dessert menus were brought to the table! The food was tasty but arrived lukewarm. We were seated on a table by the door, with the door being left open repeatedly, making our table cold. One waitress was attentive and also closed the door but a sign could have been placed on the door to stipulate ‘reservations only’. It was not particularly busy and I feel that there could have been significantly improvements from staff waiting until meals had been finished before dessert menus being taken and a heater to block the cold air out of an additional table is by the open door.

Queríamos un almuerzo rápido antes del teatro y nos topamos con este lugar. No esperaba que la comida fuera tan hermosa como era. La pizza de mi marido fue una de las mejores que ha probado. Mi ensalada era fresca y la pasta de mi hijo era deliciosa. Muy recomendable
