Thankyou to all the staff at Rithul at the Elms for catering for 35 people for my birthday party. The owners and staff were lovely. The food was excellent, South Indian menu and bar menu was had. The service was fantastic and everybody enjoyed the evening. We will definitely be returning and recommending :)

Our expectations after reading most reviews, we're sadly not realised and now understand why there is wide variability in the reviews from excellent to poor . The dining room is very pleasant, and facilities very clean, but the dishes let it down which is a real shame as the service staff were so nice. We have never been served a watery chicken korma before, at any Indian restaurant, ( and it was extremely watery, just like stock) or tough chapati that were barely pliable ( seemed like a different type of flour from the usual may have been used) - we think that perhaps we visited on the chefs night off. May try it again when passing.

Three of us had drinks at the Elms, and a meal at the Rithul Indian restaurant. The service was fantastic, and the meal was undoubtedly one of the best we have had. The attentive staff including a young lady called Hope and the gentleman (whose name we did not catch) who was also on duty, were very polite and made every effort to make us feel comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Found this place by google looking for the best Indian and this one popped up so we took a chance and went and wow we was not disappointed. The food was absolutely beautiful from starters to curries everything was spot on The waitress hope was really nice and recommended the chicken Jalfrezi best one I ever had would definitely go back and would highly recommend going

Today we went to the Elms London Rd for our Christmas Dinner and yet again it didn’t disappoint The dining room looked amazing ..the food was hot and delicious the staff were polite Helpful they went above and beyond Dency and Praveen you and your staff went 100% to make Christmas dinner special as always Thankyou Val +Walt and family xxx

We have just been for Xmas lunch with the family. The service was excellent and the food was first class, you never let us down with you and your dedicated staff, we will definitely return as always to eat in our best restaurant and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else

Unfortunately I have to say this is the worst place we have ever eaten, the staff are friendly but the owner is very abrupt, she also has very very poor hygiene, the rather potent body odour really did put us off our meal and lingers around the room. The food is very basic and bland not much flavour, I would go as far to say there would be more flavour in a take out from tescos, also please check your bill they add extra prices on things like wine etc. Then when questioned you get a rather abrupt response. Overall it feels a little grubby, it needs a good clean. Personally I would avoid at all costs.

We had a really nice meal here tonight. We were greeted very warmly and shown through to the restaurant which is bright, clean and nicely decorated. We had poppadoms to start, followed by starters and mains. The food was quick and delicious. The menu was varied and had different dishes which was nice. Service was good and we enjoyed our experience. Will be back

We’ve returned to this hotel after our last great visit. Always feel comfortable and made welcome by everyone. The hotel room is clean, comfortable and great for a night away. Went into the Indian Restaurant tonight and again very nice. Presentation, food complimentary to the surroundings. Fully recommend this place :)

We booked an overnight stay in the 'hotel' and a meal. The staff at reception were indifferent. We were given diections to our room, which was in an annexe across from the car-park - clean and basic, noisy and tacky and not as advertised (rooms on website look surprisingly nice). Too tired to complain. The mattresses were comfortable - the head-boards would look more appropriate in a skip. You cannot move without making a noise - nor can the people in the room next door (think toilet noises and floorboards). Would Not stay here again - cheap (not for the price) and exploitative. Book a room in an hotel - stay in a 'dorm'. The meal (2/10). The waitress was lovely and the other staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant looks fantastic and is comfortable and clean. The restaurant really doesn't cater for plant-based people - with a very limited menu. We asked if a dhal could be made vegan (not difficult) and, after a little hesitation, our server said yes. The pappadoms were very good 10/10 but the generic dips 5/10. Two dhals and a sambhar arrived - nicely served. Rice was perfect and chapptis adequate. The dhal and sambhar had hardly any flavour - the dhal more like tinned lentil soup - not one of the good tinned lentil soups - it hadn't been tempered or spiced in any way (could have used oil rather than ghee). Not repugnant, but not enjoyable. I couldn't tell you what the sambhar was - few bits of veg in food colouring. Of course the staff asked if the food was okay and we said 'yes' - what would be the point of complaining? Please - if you have to eat here - check your bill. We were charged £22 for a £13 bottle of wine. Too tired to complain... £59 pounds worth of dissappointment. And then, after dinner, across the car-park to the dorm...

Booked to have an Indian meal after a nice meal in the bar the previous day. We sat down at 19.20 and ordered about 20-25 minutes later. The starter eventually arrived which was not very hot but edible. We waited and waited till 20.45 when we asked when we were likely to get the main meal. The reply was 5 mins. We had to be elsewhere so we said put it in a doggy bag. We paid the £58 bill and left with the doggy bag. Not a good experience and we will never return.

Just come back from having dinner. What a great restaurant. Firstly being a powerchair user the place needed to be accessible, it is a ramp up to the front door of the building (only drawback is the front doors open outwards) the same applies to the restaurant, but the staff where more than helpful, this continued throughout the time we spent there. OK. The food, absolutely excellent food, My wife had chicken tikka with pielow rice and a pashwari nan bread. I had a mixed (chicken and lamb biryani) which wasn't on the original menu and a lamb keema nan bread. The first thing I noticed was the portions were big, I've been eating biryiani for years but this one I couldn't finish, the best I've had. We had poppadoms as a starter with a selection or prickles, one coffee and a lemon and lime brink. Total cost £44.24. We will definitely be going again and if you like indian quisene I would recommend you try it and form your own opinions.

We went for an Indian at the elms hotel just before Christmas for a family members birthday, the food was beautiful and the staff were lovely! This was the first time I’d been to the Indian restaurant part but will definitely be back! We regularly have dinner in the pub area which is also just as lovely! Definitely would recommend!

I have now visited this restaurant on several occasions, and have to say the food is magnificent. However the the staff of Olive and especially Hope were wonderful and a credit to the owners. Olive originally sat us at the table and served our starters, then Hope continued with the main course. Hope found the time to talk after we asked several questions about the restaurant, and about her study’s. Wonderful place and even more wonderful staff… totally recommend to all

Service was poor were over charged waited an hour for food was told 10 more minutes after 40 minutes. Couldn't wait any longer we had a 1 year old that had waited long enough. Manager was rude and nasty wouldn't return if someone paid me...

Ordered takeaway online from here with great anticipation after hearing positive reports. Having turned up at the online allotted time the order was not ready. After another 10 minutes the order finally appeared without explanation or apology. Then unfortunately the food was at best mediocre....
