Rising Sun Cafe in Thanet

Today's breakfast turned out to be messed up. My friend had Marmite on toast and when it arrived there was far too much marmite and even after attempting to remove some the resulting flavour was far too strong. I had the two of everything breakfast which was a mixed bag. tomatoes were cooked fresh and were nice. Bacon was nicely cooked and did not taste watery as some do. The best part was the Fried Bread which had a crunch without being covered in oil or over cooked. Not impressed with the flavour of the sausages and the eggs were over cooked with a very solid yolk. The service was indeed fast, but they forgot my extra Hash Brown and after being missed when calling out to them had to chase them back up to the counter to get it.

Good, honest food and prices. Proper caff run by the nicest people. Thank you for making us really welcome and helping us in with the buggy.

Breakfast was fab and they do vegan as well. Thank you, it was just what we needed. And 4 breakfasts were whipped up in less than 10 minutes because we needed to get the train.

After visiting rising sun on many occasions sadly disappointed today with the food, I would advise to go and eat when the main chef is cooking as normally it's fantastic.

We were in Ramsgate yesterday at a fair and on the way back passed this cafe so called in. I used to use this cafe when I lived in Ramsgate and it was always busy with a lot of trade coming from railway workers from across the road. It was very clean inside fresh and light , staff were very friendly and met our dietary needs easily. Prices are very good too.

Just been here for our first time. We all had a range of breakfasts (inc one veggie). We were approached by a lovely, smiley member of staff who ran through the menu and how to order etc. it was a lovely old school cafe which had lovely welcome vibes. Our food came out in good time, piping hot and cooked wonderfully. Loved that it wasn’t swimming in oil like some others and you could tell they use good produce. We had breakfast and coffee at the Rising sun cafe. The breakfast was really lovely although we were waiting a while. The milky coffee was interesting and the milk tasted slightly burnt, it’s abit annoying you can’t pay with card either. Not bad for a breakfast.

A really tasty breakfast ahead of a day of walking 25 miles. The fact that I didn't feel hungry until about 4pm was down to the hearty and tasty breakfast. The Sausages and bubble were particularly good. Service friendly and efficient.

I popped in here for a late(ish) breakfast - it was about 10:45. The two women behind the counter were smiley and friendly, and there were several other customers there, too. They looked like builders - always a good sign! I ordered breakfast. The tea was excellent, and when tge breakfast arrived, it was just what I hoped for. The sausages were of good quality, as was the bacon, and perfectly cooked. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and I shall certainly return!

We popped in for a quick takeaway sausage sandwich before getting on the train and I have to say it really was the best sausage sandwich I have ever eaten. On top of this, the service was so friendly and helpful and the restaurant is spotless. I would have loved to have had the time to sit down to eat and next time I am in Ramsgate, I will...........

My brother and I stopped there for breakfast after school run. My first visit and expectations exceeded! Bacon was cooked perfectly without having to ask and sausages were very good quality! Great size breakfast at a good price! Service was fast and ladies behind the counter we great. Couldnt recommend more!

I went to this cafe because my friend told me it was good for breakfast well I’ve never eaten such rubbish in all my life the bacon had been cooked and reheated so many times I couldn’t eat it the sausage was dry the beans were mashed I will never go there again.

Stumbled across this cafe this morning. It was very busy when I got there with contractors which is always a good sign. I was greeted by a couple very friendly ladies. I had the set breakfast 3 but without beans and mushrooms but they offered something else in its place which I chose a sausage. The food was very prompt and I was pleasantly surprised to have actual Heinz Ketchup and Daddy’s brown sauce on the table which is rarity in most cafes. The sausages were excellent quality which you might call a proper butchers sausage, the hash browns, eggs and bacon cooked to perfection. Not a sploge of excess grease to be seen. All served with 2 slices of mega thick fresh crusty bread (requested instead of toast). It actually beat me, which doesn’t happen very often. Absolutely spot on and I will be going here again.

great traditional English breakfast,,, freshly cooked really tasty sausages! friendly staff great service,,, but the food is the joy of the visit.

Was a lovely sunny Saturday morning and have been meaning to come here for ages, reasonably priced food, lots of it and tea in a mug!! The main components of a good start to the day!!! Would recommend

Very welcoming and friendly. Establishment is clean and fresh. Food is of excellent quality and the price in comparison to other cafes in the area Very Cheap. We will be making this our cafe of choice when in Thanet.

Love going out for breakfast and trying new places. Have driven past here so many times and finally tried the breakfast - wow, it was great. Will definitely be making a return visit. Highly recommend

He estado yendo a este café con regularidad durante los últimos 2 años. Los desayunos eran siempre muy consistente en su calidad pero a finales de los estándares parecen haber decrecido, nada malo con los ingredientes o presentación, pero los últimos 2 ocasiones la comida ha sido tibia en lugar de caliente! Volveré no prisa! Lástima

Después de haber visitado varias veces me pareció que era hora que di este café el elogio que se merece. Servicio amable rápido con una sonrisa. Siempre ocupado. Toda la comida recién hecha. Anteriormente tenía el inglés; decidió algo diferente hoy, así que optamos por un tocino crujiente perfectamente cocinado (super mi favorito) y carne de salchicha cubiertas con huevo frito servido en lonchas gruesas de pan recién horneado crujiente. Gran taza de té era el mejor acompañamiento. El mejor sarny.

I try alot of places and I haven't been here in a while so thought we would try it. As you can see from the picture. This was a number 3 costing £5.95 Not bad at all. Was served with a smile and really enjoyed it. A must if you enjoy ya morning breky !!

Having not lived in the Thanet area very long, my partner and I went for breakfast/brunch here on a Sunday morning after a somewhat late night. Great cafe, very reasonably priced and loved that the sausages were local and fresh. Staff were very friendly and food was ordered, cooked and brought to the table in a very reasonable time. Will definitely be going here again, and would definitley be my first choice for a nice fry up.

Went here after a heavy night on the town before. Typical hangover cure would be a fry up and we were recommended here. Small on space inside unfortunately as I believe business would be bigger. Very polite staff, received what we ordered for a very good price and a helpful male tidying up and taking dirty plates as he could see them, which would definitely help turnover in a business sense. Very good

Came for my mums birthday breakfast and the size of the portions was fantastic value for money! Tasted great too, really lovely and helpful staff. Food was incredible, staff were lovely, excellent local cafe perfect for your mid morning snack or breakfast :)

I rate a cafe on the bacon sarnies and this is up there with the best! Traditional breakfast also good and they're happy to provide 'off menu' whatever your preferred breakfast is.

If you want a nice classic cafe breakfast with daily,freshly made sausages by a local butcher then this is for you! The classic breakfasts come as numbers 1, & 3 - I generally take a number one but when hungry a number 2, if you are raveness then I suggest a number 3!!Another of my favourites is the omelette (cheese & mushroom for me). You can mix and match pretty much anything! There more on the menu than just breakfasts so well worth a look. I enjoy going there, hope you do too!
