Rising Moon in Tameside

My husband and myself went for a birthday drink today, deliberately after 2pm in order to avoid the lunchtime dining rush. On arrival we were told that, if we weren't dining, we would have to sit at the 'high tables' in the middle of the room even though there were plenty of other tables available. I am 5'2" and have always struggled to get onto those ridiculously high stools so we decided to leave and go elsewhere, where we were welcomed and allowed to sit where we wished. Incidentally, it is my husband's 75th birthday and we are both pensioners. It was embarrassing and a shocking way to treat customers.

Food decent, prices fine, service painfully slow. Initially order taken quickly, then wait for main course was an hour after ordering, similarly, took quite a while for table to be cleared and wait for menu for desserts, then 20 mins for dessert. Start to finish for 2 courses in there 2hrs 45 minutes. Manageress a bit confrontational too, waitresses lovely. Wont be revisiting again any time soon.

Dreadful overpriced food with poor service . Wrongly described as gastro pub , won't be returning for such uninspiring food with disinterested management

We went to the rising moon for my mother-in-laws birthday and waited for 2 hours for our main meals before walking out. The girl who served us was really great very apologetic but we could wait any longer. Will not be going back.

Staff all Nice and Friendly. We had the Pork in pepper sauce and Beef in Pepper sauce, pepper sauce just like a thick gravy not very pepperier. The beef and pork was like Sunday dinner meat. The beef stroganoff need more cream on sour cream not great. Would not recommend.

Great food and friendly professional service as always. The sea bass is the best around and this time we friend their special twist on a lamb shepherds pie which was gorgeous! Can’t recommend enough

We visited for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. The pub itself is lovely and it’s got a nice big beer garden, but the experience as a whole was poor. We booked a table and were seated on arrival, but no one asked us for our drinks order. In fact, no one came to take any order from us until I went to go and find a member of staff. I asked if I could place my order at the bar to save time, was told no and that it was table service - which is great except no one came to the table! We finally ordered and received our starters and drinks, both of which were ok but nothing wow. When we finished our starters the plates were cleared and we then waited almost 30 minutes for our mains, which were only received after we had to ask twice. Again, the food was good but nothing special and I expected more given the prices. Also, no one came to check on us or ask if we wanted more drinks, so we had to go and queue at the bar for those. After waiting for the bill, it turned out the waitress who was bringing it wasn’t allowed to operate the card machine. So we had to wait at the bar to pay whilst the staff member on the bar was run off her feet with no help. She was the only person who asked about our experience and explained that the delays were down to two staff being on leave and three phoning in sick. Whilst I’m sympathetic, it also seems there is a theme regarding the quality of the food and long wait times, looking at recent reviews. I also think customers should be given the choice of whether they want to dine in an area full of dogs or not. We weren’t asked and luckily we don’t mind, but the couple next to us were less than impressed. It looks like there is a separate dining area where dogs aren’t allowed and diners should be given an option of where they want to sit. Overall, it was a chaotic experience and I don’t think we’d visit again, which is a shame as we had high hopes.

Lovely location. Chicken and scampi dishes were lovely but hummus, olive and halloumi salad consisted mainly of salad leaves - tiny pot of hummus and 4 strips of small halloumi. Also curry dish tasted of tinned tomato and not much else. We waited over 30 minutes for meals despite booking and the halloumi salad had a delayed appearance well after other dishes served. However staff were friendly and helpful and beer garden was great. As a suggestion - it would have been nice for wraps to be on menu as light food especially for summer. More veggie options would be appreciated.

We arrived at 9pm on a Saturday night in August to be told by bar staff that they had stopped serving "because there were not many people in". As we left, a customer from a group at an outside table entered the bar to get more drinks. Realising that I was watching this, the bar manager then called us back and offered to serve us. We declined. Shocking customer service, awful attitude. Give this place a miss.

WOW what can I say about The Rising Moon in Hyde. I was there with my family for our 50th (Golden) Wedding Anniversary. We arrived at 6.20 and left at 9.00 with only having time for two courses. The service was terrible. We had my two and half year old grandson who was very very tired after this length of time. No apologies no nothing. It would have been nice if someone would have just said 'sorry for the delay your food will be with you shortly' but nothing. We didn't even get asked if we would like another drink. After 30 minutes our starters arrived and then approximately 1 hour after that our main meal was served. I emailed them the same night and still haven't had a reply - oh sorry - I had a reply saying they were dealing with it. We had the meal on the 12th July 2024 and it is now 28th July 2024 and not heard a thing. I contacted the brewery which is Robinsons and they say it is nothing to do with them. I also went on The Rising Moon's Facebook page to leave a comment and guess what THEY HAVE BLOCKED ME. I am 70 years old and really deserve better than this on my Golden Wedding Anniversary.

My son had died so I took my family out. I was the lady with the sticks . Everybody was out of this world. Exerlent . Well done to all the staff .

This restaurant is in a great location. Very friendly staff and wonderful food. 13 of us went for dinner and nothing was too much trouble. Pies are amazing. Would definitely recommend.

What a place! Came here on Easter Saturday with my mum for some dinner as we were passing through & couldn’t have enjoyed it more! Greeted by the lovely Matt at the door & incredible service throughout from him, Adam & Maddie! There was another lovely young girl too with blonde hair but not sure of her name! The food was delicious, the cocktails were fabulous & the decor inside has such a homely feel! 10/10 would recommend & will definitely be back!

Our experience at Rising Moon for our son's christening was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. Not only was the service impeccable, but the food was also outstanding, in particular the Cheese Pie was a big hit. Overall, Rising Moon team provided the perfect setting for our special day, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Adam was exceptionally attentive and accommodated all our needs and requests to his best ability!

Lovely food. I would recommend the garlic mushrooms and salt and pepper squid. We had fajitas and sticky pork, the sticky port was fantastic. I can't criticise, the only suggestion I could make it more peppers and onion in the fajitas. We really enjoyed all of it and portions are generous.

We went to the Rising Moon this evening with the whole family. As a larger group it’s always tricky, especially with kids. However, these guys looked after us amazingly well! The service - wow! Literally amazing and they couldn’t have done more or been more attentive. The food was superb, really tasty and a great price. The kids menu is particularly good. A fantastic place to go, and really good for the family. Thank you so much Matt, Grace and Aaron- you were awesome and really made our evening! We will be back and do let us know if you find my daughters green bouncy ball 🤦‍♀️ 😂 Can’t recommend this place more!

5 ⭐️ Had the Steak Special on a whim, not many places allow me to have a blue steak, but this was cooked to perfection. The hash potatoes were full of flavour. Huge portions, great prices. Adele the manager is really funny too.

Rising moon was recommended to us by family as they were there the night before. The pub/restaurant is situated in a lovely spot. The staff are very welcoming. The food was amazing at reasonable prices. Adam was a lovely young man. We will definitely be going back there.

Immaculate, attractive looking pub; warm and comfortable throughout, including the toilets. A friendly welcome from a very helpful gentleman (landlord?) and excellent customer service from him and his efficient, courteous staff. A hardworking team that never stopped. Varied menu and great food - we all enjoyed our own meals and every dish being brought out looked delicious. I had the rag pudding which I would definitely recommend. Prices reasonable and comparable to similar style food pubs in the area. Only one small improvement point: although the chips were nice, home cooked would have been even better. Thank you - we will certainly return.

Amazing food great atmosphere. Do accommodating. Adam is a credit to them fabulous waiter . Oh and it's Yorkshire pudding day which made everything more fun .

Golden wedding meal booked for 11 of us. Probably wouldn’t have bothered writing a review but I always think that the measure of good service is when things go wrong! Service from the first few minutes was great… meals were all correct and hot and lovely and waitresses were all lovely and attentive. There was a real mix mix up with the bill. This was partially my fault because I didn’t click it was low because I’d had a glass of wine or two. However, bills were mixed up and we were under charged by a lot. Luckily we hadn’t left although we had had to leave our table and were in the main bar: We were advised some time later we had been undercharged and would need to pay the difference. This caused a bit of stress in the family with everyone on insisting on paying so I went to the bar to wait for it to be resolved. This took some time, but I later find out this was because they had called a manager in to help resolve. Mistakes happen and I thought this was dealt with pretty well. I would recommend this pub restaurant as a lovely place to have a meal with other half or family celebration, good value and good service. Thank you team for a special night.

Took my father for lunch here on Tuesday, really surprised to see how busy it was, I now realise why! Warm welcome and good service throughout, meals really great, warm chicken salad very fresh and steak in peppercorn sauce from the specials huge. good value. Will definitely return and maybe recommend booking.

Awful place had to wait over an hour once ordered for food to arrive which was discusing mush. , Manger was rude no manners & attuide problem shouting at staff , no customer service skills what so ever . wrong change given at the bar no apology & had to ask 3 times for the glasses were dirty, toliets were discussing blocked no toliet roll . will not be returning! To this hell hole

Was taken to the Rising Moon with friends, they were told it was good, they were wrong, it was excellent. The menu choice is very varied and not to pretentious at a good price. Friendly staff and delicious food really well cooked. I can highly recommend this pub. We will be back.

I’ve used this place a few times and will definitely be back when I’m back in the area. The food is all home cooked and the menu is very varied and of a high quality. The place itself is lovely and the staff friendly so please give it go.

We use this restaurant/ pub every week. Notwithstanding the temporary closure, the food, service and ambience are first class. Andrea, Lea and Joe, together with their team, always make us welcome. And the food? Fab! Nothing not to like. We will be back on the first day open!

Came with my daughter a couple of weeks ago and loved it so brought my hubby today. We had the special topside beef in pepper sauce and hubby had apple crumble n I had sticky toffee pudding. The food is absolutely amazing, place is very clean and staff are lovely. Recommend 100%

How refreshing to have the full dining experience. The place was lovely and very busy but that did not affect the service or the food which were both excellent. My husband queried one of the specials with the waitress and so the chef came out to see him to discuss it. I would have no problem recommending the Rising Moon. On our visit everything was perfect. Well done Rising Moon.

Visited today Bank holiday Monday for lunch and was well impressed!I made my booking a week in advance without any problems at all for 1.30 - upon arrival we were warmly greeted by a lovely member of staff that explained about the Covid regulations and pointed out the hand santisers before showing us to our table which was well placed in the main restaurant. We were given menus and the waitress on table service took our order for drinks. There was both a main menu & a specials menu which catered for any palate as well as a childrens menu all very reasonably priced, albeit being a bank holiday and the restaurant busy we hardly had any wait at all before the waitress took our order - and both my husband & myself ordered from the specials menu! Our food came quite quickly and what can I say about our meals other than compliments to the chef!! - the food was absolutely delicious! We both cleared our plates! We will have no hesitation in returning to the rising moon the place is in a beautiful setting, the restaurant is lovely, the staff are attentive and efficient and the food is absolutely delicious. On a final note it is very Covid friendly which we found so reassuring- thankyou & WEll DONE Rising Moon !!Janette & Graham

Lovely location, nice decor and had lovely service but the food was awful. I have been before and the food was lovely which is why I returned and took friends. Unfortunately this time the food was not how I remembered and after this food experience would not recommend. However, alright place for drinks.

meal and hospitality couldn't of been better. Amazing and strick force of current covid legislation. Been out to eat a few times since the covid restrictions have been lifted and never felt safer. Absolutely brilliant, well worth a visit.

If my review was just based on the food alone it would be 5 out of 5 but unfortunately the environment counts for a lot and that is what is not so great at the moment. The main reason for my review today is that I have been back since they re opened after lock down and compared to other local pubs and restaurants, they could have done a lot more to ensure their customers and staffs safety. Menus are still left on all tables permanently for everyone to handle, cutlery was already on our table when we arrived, staff were not social distancing from one another or customers, same entrance and exit door and no screens at the bar. However, menu is brilliant as there’s a wide range of meals to suit all and every meal I’ve had from there has been absolutely lovely. The waiters and waitresses are polite.I think it’s great that they are pet friendly and the location is great too so it really is unfortunate that they don’t seem to be doing much to make it a safe place to go with the current situation. I will definitely be back once things are back to normal but whilst covid is still around I’ll be going to other local pubs that have put a lot more effort in to making things as safe as possible.

We have just had Sunday lunch it was very tasty service was really good n friendly highly recommend for meals.

Visited today as a group of six. This was our first time and we were not disappointed. Warmly greeted by the lovely owner on arrival. Sat at the bar with drinks whilst waiting for the rest of our party. Decor is really well done and there is a really lovely family atmosphere. We all had a variety of different dishes but everyone was delicious and huge portions. All if the meals were really fairly priced. All of the staff were really polite and helpful. We have driven past so many times but after today will definately be returning.

While on a trip from Canada visiting family we went to the Rising Moon for a meal on my final evening. The main dining area we were seated in has far too many tables and getting in and out requires a lot of negotiation. The service is minimal to say the least and the food was definitely not worth the price; small portions of a mediocre meal.The manager, I felt,was about as tactful as an Israeli bulldozer, when quizzing my sister on a issue on booking the table. She later called my sister threatening to sue her over a bad review!!!Overall it was an unpleasant experience and I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Just another pub that sells grub, and that's about it! My experience relates to the food only, because all Robinson's pubs are expensive. I had liver & bacon. There was a choice of either chips or mash (I found out later), but I was not offered the choice. The meal came late because the order got lost. When it finally arrived, I was surprised to find a large dollop of mash smothered in gravy on top of everything else. What little liver there was seemed okay, but nothing else. The bacon was undercooked and fatty. I left the splodge because it was too disgusting to eat. Not a pleasant experience. The pub chain Wetherspoons is far better in my opinion.

My husband and I visited The Rising Moon today for lunch for the first time since the refurb (I know we are so behind the times) and it was absolutely delightful.We were greeted by the extremely lovely and friendly owner and shown to a table straight away (one of only two left as the place was packed). With a specials menu and the "normal" menu there was plenty to choose from, I had the liver and onions and my hubby chose the fish & chips. Both meals came out in good time, were piping hot and absolutely delicious. The drinks were priced the same as most pubs we visit and the food extremely reasonable. All in all it was a lovely experience, with friendly, professional service and good quality products.I would definitely recommend The Rising Moon and we will back (we are even considering going back this evening)

Been in the rising moon lots of times and several times since it’s been refurbished, the landlord, landlady and staff work really hard Went today for Sunday lunch, it was very busy but the food and service was excellent, my mum said it was was the nicest Sunday roast she had ever had whilst eating out and in 79 years that’s a lot . There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed everything.

First time here and would definitely go back again. Food flavour some and good portion size. Duck spring rolls were tasty and meaty not disappointing. Pork lion in pepper sauce was lovely and the millionaire cheesecake was fab!!! Nice feel to the place. Well worth a visit. Nothing too much trouble for the staff either thanks for a lovely time

It was ok food was like your mum used to make mashed potatoes and gravy with a pie. I was shocked there was no vegetarian other than cheese and onion pie. The lighting was too bright.

wanted a simple meal out so came here. Made welcome (we booked just in case it was busy - you never know) and enjoyed the food.Its a local place where you get good food in generous portions - yes we are an older couple- but know not to have a starter as mains are good. Staff friendly & helpful; specials menu is worth looking at ; also they do vegetarian options.

Me and our lass decided to try the moon for a change . I know its a Robbie's pub but the drinks prices were way over the top. Told us they didn't have any tables , but then shuffled the tables around and fitted us in . Only just though as my wife is a big girl . The food was OK but very average . Its nice to hear yourself talk ,it was very noisy and the very young staff looked stressed and never once asked if everything was OK like they do these days. The main courses were very average and the cheese and biscuits for £7.50 was rubbish . 3 small pieces of cheese and tasteless bad choices. A few grapes didn't mask this. Never once got asked if we wanted any drinks and went to the bar myself.Recently refurbished and I think it will go quite when everyone's tried it. So many places offer good value and service but not here . We should of known really because I asked a young girl member of staff when we walked in if they had any tables and her exact words were I don't know ask Lee. Who's Lee I thought and nearly walked out but fancied a pint.

We booked a table here for my birthday, so glad we did the place was packed. The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble, very attentive even though the place was very busy, indeed and there was no rushing either. Would just like to say how smart all the staff looked, especially the two gentlemen, well done. Makes a change these days. The food we had starters and roast lunch were delicious and cooked to perfection, very tasty Indeed. We will definitely be going back to this wonderful place.The restaurant has been very tastefully renovated, we like it very much, even the out side as been given a much needed revamp, once again well done. We would like to wish the land lord and lady plus all the team, the very best of luck with the rising moon, although I have a feeling they already know they have a winning restaurant, already. We have visited this local family pub/restaurant on a few occasions recently. Each time different members of the family have been on duty BUT the service has been the same high standard. Any successful establishment has to provide good food but where most fall down is the service. The Rising Moon is rare because the service is consistently of a high standard and long may it continue

Third visit so I thought it was about time I did a review. It’s just a lovely place. Staff very welcoming and efficient. The atmosphere is nice very busy place. On to the grub very nice had soup and a sandwich. Tomato an pepper soup tuna sandwich plus chips. Mrs had garlic mushrooms and prawn sandwich and chips. Far too much for us could have shared really. However very nice food and Defoe will go again. Lovely place.

Having been welcomed by the manager the experience continued to be excellent with good food being served by pleasant staff. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and a credit to the Manager. The atmosphere was just what you would wish for a Christmas lunchtime gathering of friends.

This was first visit since the refurbishment and it won’t be my last. The place looks lovely, food was beautiful and the staff very friendly!

Popped in for lunch & I was particularly impressed by the chips on this visit.....they were flipping lovely. The liver & bacon was also extremely enjoyable as was the homemade soup of the day. All round excellent value.

I went here on Sunday with my family as the food came highly recommended. I booked a table and was so glad as when we arrived it was very busy. We were soon shown to our table and we didn’t have to wait long before they took our order. We all ordered differently. I had the beef Sunday lunch, my husband the cheese and onion pie and my daughters had the children’s chicken nuggets and fish. I’m quite fussy with my Sunday dinner but it was delicious. I’d definitely recommend it. My husband really enjoyed his pie and the girls demolished their meals. Before visiting here we regularly visited another pub for Sunday lunch. However my daughter said she much preferred the food here. It was busy but that meant there was a lovely atmosphere. Even though it was busy our starter and mains came without any long wait. The waiting staff were all attentive and extremely pleasant. We will definitely be visiting here again.

Not been in this pub for several years and what a pub it is now just called in for an evening meal the manager asked if we had booked witch we hadn't and he soon found us a table the food is outstanding and the service fantastic the best pub food in the area great work

We had lasange and beef sandwich both were hot fresh and good value for money. Drinks are a touch pricey but you pay for what you get and the setting and pub itself are lovely

Good first impression. Very busy as there was a wedding party there. We’d booked but our table occupied by wedding guests so waited until we could get in. Food was nice, you can’t go wrong with gammon & chips! Nice friendly waitress. Very noisy in the bar area but quieter in the restaurant.

We booked a table for 3 people here last Wednesday evening. The table was booked for 8pm, but as we were running a little late my partner called the restaurant to request if we could move the reservation to 8.30pm, we were told no but we could move it to 8.15pm if we were on time. We arrived exactly at 8.15pm to be told that the kitchen had closed and that they could not serve us. What a mess! What sort of restaurant closes its kitchen at 8-8.15??? We will certainly not be going back and do not recommend to anyone if you want to eat after 8.00pm! We jumped back in a taxi and had a lovely meal at the nice Italian in Hyde with great service and were they appreciated our business and custom!

Visited on Saturday 5/10/19. The menu is well balanced, The children’s menu was good. I had liver bacon and onions with homemade chips. Almost as good as my grandmothers. Chicken pasta was also tasty and a good portion.

This was our first visit since it was refurbished. The decor is nice and pleasant and it was very busy with some large parties. We had booked and were seated quickly. The staff were pleasant. My husband had pork and was happy with it. I had roast beef which looked lovely on arrival. However my beef was tough and even after asking for a steak knife, I couldn't eat most of it. I did tell three of the staff but unfortunately I didn't get an apology until after the bill was paid in full. Not good enough.

We had a pleasant family meal in the Rising Moon Saturday evening. The starters and main course were lovely however the pudding wasn't as good, as they used artificial cream and extremely sweet sauce. Otherwise ok.

Went for lunch this week with my daughters, the place looks great after it's recent refurbishment. I had the steak and cheese ciabatta which came with chips and onion rings, the ciabatta was average, the chips tasted of oil as if they had been heated initially on a cool temperature, and the onion rings were tasteless and not crispy, similar complaints from my daughters

We called in early evening for a quick bite to eat with our young puppy. We were made to feel very welcome and told which area of the pub the dog was allowed, told to take a seat and they would come and take our drinks order. The decor is lovely they’ve done a fantastic job with the refurbishment. The beer garden is also lovely and spacious although it was a bit too windy to sit out and enjoy it but we will definitely be back on a nice day to sit outside and have a drink. The food was delicious! I had beef stroganoff, can’t fault it. Husband had liver and bacon, he was unsure whether to order or not as he is very fussy but he thoroughly enjoyed it really good portions too. We will definitely be back.

Went here on Wednesday at 630pm, the place was packed and we had to wait for a table to eat which was fine as we were having a few drinks.

Visited for the first time with a friend in the week just for a drink but ended up having a bowl of chips & dessert, lovely. Visited today with family. Rang to book a table just after 11am to eat at 12. Staff were friendly & attentive, especially the girl that served us (tall, blonde hair wearing glasses) Food was excellent, two of us ordered off the smaller menu,the portions were still a decent size. Definitely be back!

The food isn’t bad at all and the prices pretty reasonable. There’s also a choice of three cask ales, along with all the other usual drinks.

We went here 4th August for my grandaughters bithday what a beautiful place beautiful inside and out very modern and relaxing lovely atmoshere and the food was amazing very reasonable prices too and the service was excellant there was 14 of us the staff were very pleasant too cant wait until I go again which hopefully will be very soon x

We visited the Rising Moon for the first time yesterday since the refurbishment. It is excellent. The decor is modern and light. The menu is really good with so much choice. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the service we received was brilliant. Great night.

Visited for the first time today, clean and inviting environment. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We had the chicken and bacon salad which was very tasty and filling. We also tried the parmesan fries which were sooooo nice! We had a salad so we could justify having the pudding. We only just manage to eat to pudding though as we were full from the main course. Would definitely recommend a visit.

First visit to this lovely Robbies pub for lunch, very modern and clean inside, the staff were extremely friendly, the food was top notch, I had perfectly cooked steak and homemade chips, My wife had a delicious Hunters chicken, reasonable prices as well, we will be back.

First visit for many years. Pub has been refurbished to a lovely standard. Prices are good value, food very nice. Good atmosphere, was busy without being hectic, would recommend and we'll be going back soon.

The really helpful staff managed to fit a table of 18 in with less than a weeks notice. We operated on a pre booking meals basis which to be honest couldn't have run any smoother. The outdoor area is great and accommodates children brilliantly. The surrounding scenery is very picturesque. I never visited before the refurb so have nothing to compare with but i was very impressed with the decor and design of the place. Firstly service, the staff couldn't do enough to help. They were very approachable and friendly, nothing was to much effort. They happilly changed our table around to give the children more room.

After the refurb I was a little sceptical after reading some less favourable reviews. I can honestly say as a party of 3, all meals (and desserts) were delicious! Service was as efficient and friendly as ever I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good value, hearty meal with a great atmosphere. There is nowhere else in the vicinity that comes close to the quality and value for money you will get here. I have eaten here as a party of 20 and still they manage to deliver all meals, hot and delicious promptly. Thank you all, we'll be there again soon

First time here since the upgrade. While the surroundings are very pleasant, the food is nothing special. Staff are polite but be aware to check your bill as ours had a bottle of wine on which we never had. My standards in food is high, having had a bistro, so I do understand pub grub is enjoyed by many.

It has undergone complete refit inside and is now so much nicer.

Food was under average as the chips were uncooked and very oilly. The braising steak was tough.

Just spent a lovely couple of hours at our favourite local. As always had a perfect meal. Had sweet chilli noodles for a change and they were delicious. My partner had the home made lasagne which was as perfect as always. Followed by delicious cheesecake. The staff were welcoming as soon as we arrived and attentive and friendly throughout our evening.

Came here with a business lunch and ordered fish and chips. What came was a soggy wet mash in a batter and it wasn't cheap ! Once upon a time it may of been fish but that was probably before It was skillfully turned into a wet mess, awful meal and the worst fish I have ever been served. I also made the mistake of forgetting to ask if it was cod or haddock when ordering as I don't believe it was either and was probably something like Basa but with a £10 price tag. When asked if everything was OK I did say the fish had turned into a wet mash but she wasnt really listening and moved on.

That is perhaps why there were not very many people eating at the Rising Moon on a Saturday lunch time. . Certainly the music was too loud and the food of extremely poor quality. An average menu and nothing that strikes you as being interesting. COULD DO A LOT, BETTER, AS THE ESTABLISHMENT HAS BEEN REFURBISHED TO ROBINSONS USUAL HIGH STANDARDS.

Went with friends for Sunday lunch and extremely glad we decided to try it. Food delicious, staff friendly. View beautiful outside. Prices appropriate for food and drinks. Definitely be going back.

As usual the landlord was a miserable bugger, service time was terrible, starter was burned to a crisp, waited an age to get our main course, felt like they wanted us in and out ASAP. Won’t be going back.

First of all I would like to say the staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful 10/10. The pub its shelf was lovely comfortable and well presented and finally the food was excellent. Thank you to all at the Rising Moon for making a very special occasion even better.

Visited as a couple on a Saturday for lunch but the music was way way way too loud...not relaxing or romantic at all. We left after a drink and ate elsewhere.

Thursday night spur of the moment first visit... bar staff quickly found us a nice table and we enjoyed a drink together before placing our order... the starters of Peking Duck Rolls & Pate we’re well presented and also very good portions... Nice space to chat & enjoy some wine before the mains of 16oz Gammon with all the trimmings and Sea Bass arrived... As my wife cannot digest cream sauces the very attentive manager’s wife, Amanda (apologies if I got the name wrong) spoke to the chef when we ordered who arranged for it to be served with a tomato ratatouille instead... The service & food was efficient & well presented & excellent portions. An excellent experience overall and one we will be repeating I am sure... Thank you

The Rising Moon is getting good reviews after its refit so tried at a lunchtime with friends. Food is very good as is the service. Even on a mid week lunchtime it was busy so would recommend a reservation. I tried the cheese and onion pie as I can compare to others and must admit it was a good one with tasty mature cheese and not too much onion. The fish and chips looked good too. Plenty of parking and the usual good Robinson’s beer along with a good wine list this place is now on the list for good pub food.

Came here over easter when it was nice and warm and sat outside. We ordered some food. I had the cheese and onion pie which could of fed two people. My husband had the beef sandwich. Food was nice. They were turning people away as it was busy at 1215pm not enough tables.

Travelled from Altrincham to meet with friends who are more local and it was well worth the effort. Really nice refurb and food was very good. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Eton Mess was on the dessert menu but I’ve often been disappointed by this dish in past so I asked how they made their version. They asked me how I would like it done and produced a perfect (and huge !!) dish exactly how it should be. When someone makes every effort to ensure you feel so welcome and that you enjoy your visit it makes you want to return.....and we will be doing so.

Met up with friends and enjoyed tasty food from a varied menu. Food arrived promptly, was well presented, generous portions and very reasonably priced. Recommended

Called in today as we always said we would in the way past, and packed again as it always seems to be , but in we went and was pleasantly greeted by staff. Starters were great and the Main (Fillet Steak) for me and the Braised Steak for my partner was definitely not a let down by the food or the drink for both .

Lovely and nicely refurbished inside and out with new additions to the menu Food absolutely delicious Service impeccable Been here many times never been disappointed yet. Now has upgraded outdoor seating and playground for smaller children Public fields at the rear and plenty of walks

Taken to the Rising Moon for the first time for lunch. What a treat, the food was lovely and the service was good. All three of us had sea bass fillets and they were delicious. We certainly hope to visit again. Thanks to all the staff for a great lunch.

We visited this evening for early dinner. Fantastic food and service. There is a beer garden and play area for kids. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff also.

This afternoon we came to the rising moon with family. We was greeted by a lovely girl and came and sat down at a table. We felt like we was in a warm comfortable environment straight away as all the staff was so lovely and friendly. We had a few drinks and then ordered food which I struggled with to order so I had advice on what to get. I had the homemade chicken curry with half rice and half chips which was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Will definitely be coming again. What a lovely afternoon :) thank you.

My wife & I visited the Rising Moon following a recommendation from a friend. We had not made a reservation as we expected the restaurant to be quiet on a Tues evening, it was very busy but a member of staff was able to find a free table for us.

Visited for lunch with my Aunt as she heard good reviews since the opening. Got there for 12.10pm and there were already a number of tables taken. We had to ask for menus as there were none on the table. We both went for the cheese and onion pie, it arrived fairly quickly, however it was only luke warm with an occasional hot spot, the chips were hard. We went on to have the cinnamon and apple crumble which was piping hot, the crumble was not traditional but more oaty and left a floury taste. Staff were friendly, except one who grabbed the dessert menu ( which again we'd had to ask for) from me to put back into the holder. Had got very busy as we were leaving, the chairs are also not the comfiest for someone who is tall and not an average size.

Visited a few weeks after pub re-opened after refurbishment and then again a few weeks later. What a great job was done on the refurbishment. Staff are always really friendly. Great choice of food on main menu and the specials menu. Would recommend the cheese and onion pie, lasagne and the rag pudding.

I have been many many times since the refurb and I have brought and recommended to lots of friends as the land lady and land lord are lovely and we’ve had such a good experience and it was just what we needed as our local pub. Tonight my daughter spat her sausages out which she loves and has every time we visit regularly and asks to come here for tea due to them ! On inspection they were not cooked they were pink in the middle. After a waitress took my food away the assistant manager came over and said what was wrong. I explained the Kids meal sausages weren’t cooked they were pink he said does she want another !! My daughter said she did. There was no apology just a rude look. In fairness a waitress came over and said I over heard about your daughters meal an I wanted to apologise for this which I really appreciated someone had acknowledged it ! I have never sent a meal back and was a regular sometimes numerous times a week. To me a good family business is when something goes wrong the way it’s handled and it wasn’t handled well at all. It’s our nearest pub to our house and we were looking forward to spending even more time here in the summer but sadly after so many visits I won’t be back based on the arrogance and no apology for under cooked sausages served to a child ! Such a shame !!!

Just been to our local The Rising Moon with family and have had the most wonderful evening. What gorgeous food, lovely friendly staff and beautiful setting. Thanks guys it was an important night for us and you made it even more special.

Came here a few days after mothers day, booked a table for 7, its very busy alot of the time since having the refurb.. although I was a little disappointed to see they have taken away the seating near the bar and it's all been changed so you can only eat here, food is still sub-standard but small portions..

We have just been for a family meal to The Rising Moon and couldn’t fault it one bit! The food was the freshest I have tasted in a pub for a very long time. All home made and absolutely delicious, we will definitely be going back! Also has had a lovely refurb with stunning views.
