Rising Cafe - From the Rubble in Lincoln

We thoroughly enjoyed our Lunch experience at The Rising cafe. We experienced Lovely service , a great atmosphere in a quirky venue . The menu is both varied & Interesting. The food was cooked to order using fresh ingredients, which was super tasty & Plentiful. A great value & friendly place to be. I will visit again & would recommend!

Such a hidden gem. I visited here with a friend during a day shopping in Lincoln, you cannot pre book however we chanced it and waited in the queue for around 5 minutes before a table was ready. Absolutely gorgeous food, attentive staff and beautifully decorated. Will definitely be back!!

Been several times over the past few years, never ever disappoints. Excellent service and fantastic food - including the best mac 'n' cheese I've ever had, with hot honey and pulled beef brisket. (Also worth mentioning that they once did the best burger I've had, within a biscoff doughnut - absolute genius)

We were blown away by the menu, staff, surroundings and atmosphere. I had the breakfast muffin a meal in itself and homemade. My wife had Avocado on toast with added streaky bacon ...all fantastic. Thank you to the staff who made us feel so welcome. Definitely our new go to place for lunch in Lincoln as there is so much on the menu I want to try !

My daughter and I visited this week to check out her new University town. We had read the reviews and loved the concept and ethos that makes this place so special so decided to visit. We were not disappointed, what an amazing place. Located within part of the church the atmosphere was airy, calming and relaxing whilst the decor was eclectic, homely and comfortable. We ordered a Pepsi and tea for one which held 2 good cups and was served in the prettiest pot and matching tea cup, the tea was genuinely one of the nicest cups I’ve ever had. We indulged and had a red velvet cake and chocolate brownie ( served warm or cold, with or without ice cream!) and thoroughly enjoyed every delicious mouthful. The service was quick and friendly, the staff were wonderful, so cheerful and welcoming. We spoke at length with one lovely lady who explained more about the charity behind the Rising Cafe and the people they support. She spoke with my daughter who is starting University there next month and made her feel genuinely welcomed to the community. In short The Rising Cafe is an amazing oasis of positivity, good food, joyful atmosphere, genuine, kind staff and a wonderful place to come to whatever your reason for being there, it’s good for the soul. We can’t wait to visit again very soon, this will definitely be our ‘go to place’.

Fabulous food - quality and quantity! - at a very reasonable price. Made all the more enjoyable by friendly and attentive staff (who are volunteers by the way) in a quirky, relaxing setting.

Took my son Jayden to the Rising Cafe in Lincoln and it is the first time we have been in. Jayden sat in the red leather comfy chair and the cafe is aesthetically pleasing, with lots of songs and lamps plus music playing. This adds to the ambient atmosphere. Jayden and I, made ourselves at home. On the way to play golf later, this is a nice place ran by volunteers. Who I think are part of the Alive church. We are from Gainsborough and we have been to Lincoln many times. We had 2 lattes and 2 ice creams, vanilla and chocolate. Both were nicely presented, with hundreds and thousands on the ice creams. Jayden thought this was a nice touch and the latte was nice and warm without being too hot. We will visit again to this nice and pleasant cafe. Karen and Jayden. Age 45 and 21

The food is great, the espresso is ridiculously good. I had the cornbread and my partner had the fritters, they were both incredible. It’s well priced and the staff are so friendly.

One our favourite spots in Lincoln. I love what this cafe stands for and those it’s helping. The staff is always very friendly. My boyfriend says they have the best espresso in Lincoln. We’ve always been so happy with what we’ve tried here. Decided to find this place as it was rated No 1 on this site. We weren’t disappointed. Fab menu (no jacket potatoes or paninis) Hubby had the burger snd i chose three of the small plates. The belly pork was sooooo tasty with a cauliflower and miso puree, brown butter hummus was delicious. Couldn’t finish the chicken wings so i was given a little box to take the rest home. Love, love the decor, quirky and fun. Lovely staff and a great cause. Will be back.

Our daughter brought us along as she really rated the food. The cafe has a great layout that's quite quirky with a great nod to the past. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is amazing. I had the belly pork, and I'll be coming back for it again.

Have often eaten here and never fails to have wonderful food and all waiting staff are informative and friendly. The food is always incredible. The vibe is very relaxed with interesting decor plus close to town centre

So where do I start? What a great venue - super cool vibe to the place, very friendly staff (volunteers btw) and fab food at a great price. 5 of us for lunch for less than 50 squid? True! Not one of us even a bit disappointed by our meal, spot on! And the miracle - I enjoyed a meal of tofu!! Gonna be back - thank you rising cafe. 🙂

Amazing food and service. Was served quickly and the food was amazing and well prepared. Staff were very friendly and outgoing.

Popped in yesterday (a Thursday) around 1pm, it was busy but we did manage to get a seat on sofas with a low table, atmosphere good, food superb, volunteers lovely. It had quietened off a bit when we left after an hour or so, highly recommended. Avocado toast, skin on fries, Korean fried chicken.

Our 4th visit to Lincoln and excited to finally be in the city on a day this very well reviewed cafe is open (closed on Sunday & Monday), we dropped by on Monday to ensure there was no reason the cafe was closed, mainly because we delayed our journey home to dine here. Arrived at 11.45am, Tuesday 2nd April, to be greeted by a “sorry we are closed for cleaning”. It would have been very helpful if the sign had been placed prior to the Sunday/Monday closure or the web site be updated

I went today with my sister-in-law, young nephew and my dog - we had a really lovely time! We were greeted with a big smile and the lady who met us was really friendly and helpful. She led us to a nice table with cosy chairs. We had coffees and some of their smaller plates to share and really enjoyed everything we ordered. It was lovely to go somewhere that is so accommodating to children and dogs :) Thank you!

Really really delicious food and wonderful staff! I had a mac and cheese toastie which was something completely new to me but it was great. The young man that served us was lovely too and gave us some recommendations - and convinced me to try the mac and cheese toastie!

Highly recommend a visit to this quirky cafe with a unique decor within a church and the service by volunteers is fantastic! This cafe really left an impression on us not just because of the warm welcome and great food but how much everyone cares there. In addition all money made goes towards helping those in need. Food is also really good which was another surprise and the milkshakes are unbelievable! Definitely worth a visit if you come to Lincoln.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch on Sat 18 Feb. Part of a large group (of 11 including children) which understandably took a while to prep during a busy Sat lunchtime. Totally well worth the wait! Everybody's food was spot on delicious, fresh, really tasty and good value for money...veg/vegan options particularly yummy. Butter hummus, bang bang cauliflower & paneer kebabs stood out for me. Meat lovers loved their butter chicken burgers & BLTs. Our servers were so friendly and made everything lovely for us. Dogs being welcome really helped us out too! I heartily recommend this wonderful gem, not just for the truly top notch food and personable service but because it's an incredible charity doing great work to help people who need a hand. Absolutely delicious food. We all loved our meals and a great selection on the menu. We were greeted and served by Juan who gave us excellent service. He went above and beyond with getting our table sorted. Lovely friendly atmosphere and lovely servers. Excellent chefs too!

We love the Rising in Lincoln. We’ve been many times, usually at lunch time, and have always enjoyed fantastic food and first-rate service. My daughter and I called in for lunch today and treated ourselves to an absolute feast, including the Shrove Tuesday special pancakes...
