Arboretum Cafe in Lincoln

Staff are really friendly and are training so you do need to remember that. Food quality was great and my mocha coffee came out at the perfect temperature and was delightful.

Popped in today for breakfast. The cafe is a training facility with the staff generally new to the industry and learning their trade. The team there were friendly and attentive, and made a fuss of our dogs (it's dog friendly). We had very well priced breakfasts, delivered quickly, and the food was great. We had a full breakfast, a breakfast burrito, and scrambled eggs and beans between us and all of the food tasted fantastic. The arboretum itself is a lovely place for a walk. I was really surprised at how well priced everything was, how friendly the service was, and the level of attentiveness. If we're back in the area, we'll certainly go back.

Great welcome & service by all those learning the trade, from taking food & drink orders, payment preparation & cooking of food, serving on this occasion a HUGE jacket potato, full to the brim of vegetarian chilli 'n cheese, salad & coleslaw! When asked by a friendly waiter "If everything was OK"? Full to brim & grinning, i said "the proof is on the plate, i've literally cleaned up thank you, it was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s" 😋 & off I went for a brisk walk around Lincoln's fabulous Arboretum

This is a training cafe for local youngsters (with professional supervision), so if you go bear this in mind. The room is a little ram-shackled BUT the food quality and service were both excellent. And the prices are very competitive. Highly recommended.

Full inside. I table (occupied) outside. No one prepared to put out another table/chairs - even though they're all stacked up around side. Can't be bothered attitude!

We had a small breakfast it's always absolutely fantastic executed perfectly poached or fried fried bread is available which is a special treat but fantastic it really is brilliant value for money and the staff are really lovely don't forget to give them a tip we love it definitely definitely recommend it as the best breakfast in Lincoln.

This place is a “must visit” if you are in Lincoln and wanted a great dining experience. The food, atmosphere and location are great for families, couples or just coming on your own to chill. We will be back!

Fantastic breakfast served up by happy smiley staff. Great produce and good size portion. Food arrived piping hot and presented well on the plate. Accompanied by a good sized pot of tea and a large coffee. Great value for money, will definitely be back. 😊

Came here from a recommendation and it certainly was worth it. Staff all seem to be training and a excellent job they did, two of us had a small cooked breakfast, great value for money and food stayed hot from start to finish,not many cafes I've been to manage that. Certainly recommend and will return. An enterprise well worth supporting.

First ever visit. This is a training cafe, and it was a delight. Staff so attentive and the coffee and toasted teacakes were first class. Would really recommend a visit after a walk round the arboretum.

Yes the food here is great. Kelsey served me she was lovely. As in really nice. It’s a training cafe but don’t be afraid, they are really good and looked after myself and my guest really well. I am proud to support that place and will definitely return and very soon. I have also heard the afternoon teas are exceptional. I wasn’t sure about ordering poached eggs because they are tricky but Kelsey assured me they can do them and they were great. The tea was in a non leaking teapot and the coffee was brilliant. Nice warm, clean seating area. This is a training café, so the people that serve you and the people prepping food are all training. Very good prices and good portions too. Great breakfast!! Definitely worth a visit, only downside I could see is it's not opened weekends...

It is a practice establishment so very seldom you deal with some young uptight servers with no sense of humour. But overall very nice food. Just struggling to find a parking spot.

I come here most Tuesdays with my dad a toddler. The staff are so accommodating and lovely. I have witnessed some beautiful moments of staff helping their elderly customers walk to and from their mobility scooters. The staff are just wonderful. The food is great too! Never had a bad meal and my toddler can’t get enough of the sweet potato fries! Thank you for creating such a lovely place to visit!

The breakfast is always just beautifully cooked. We sit outside in beautiful surroundings, with our dogs, even on damp days! But I believe well behaved dogs are allowed inside. The workers are super friendly, being an active teaching cafe too, and indeed our order taker 'Ruby' was exceptional. Caring and attentive she checked everything was 'OK' half way through with feel, not the false McDs 'Have a nice day' sorta slop. A very pleasant experience all round. THE BEST FULL ENGLISH IN LINCOLN! Considering that this is a “training cafe”, they are the most reliable one in the city and consistently serve high-quality fresh food. If you’re looking for Full English! Get one here! You will not regret it! It’s a bigger breakfast than the one served by the cosy club and it’s cheaper too!

Friendly service, we asked if they had any more tables and they set up table and chairs in the shade for us. Sandwiches include the option of gluten free bread. With drinks it is a perfect place to stop for refreshment in the Arboretum Park

We found this for the first time after visiting Lincoln for years.. what a fabulous little cafe. The breakfast and coffee were excellent and very reasonably priced. The service was very good. We will definitely be back. (Husband said it's one of the tastiest breakfasts he's had and that saying something at 74 )

Very happy everytime. Im fussy how i like my breakfast eg. Half a slice of fried bread, well done bacon, half a small glass of orange, no tomato or mushrooms and its never a problem for them. I constantly go back as its always tasty and perfect and also good prices. I cannot fault the place

Whatever you do, don't criticise the food or the Staff, and bear in mind that only the training staff can take pictures of the trainees or customers without their permission.

What a lovely place the staff are really pleasant and nothing is to much trouble. There was 9 of us and they moved all the tables around so we could all sit together.

It is a training cafe but it is first class food and service it is a good place to met or have lunch with friends

After hearing good things about the arboretum cafe we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. It was a surprise on just how good it was. The food is fantastic and the prices are very good too. Full breakfast and coffee for under a fiver. Everything is made fresh and you can customise to your liking. Poached eggs, fried bread no problem. The quality of the food is very high and I wouldn't be disappointed if I had paid double. I would like to say thank you to Tony for the service, very happy and helpful. This cafe would be great for 121 business meetings or meeting new clients.

This place provides work experience for people with learning disabilities. It does a lovely baked potato and the decaffeinated coffee is great.

Sitting here outside the cafe. I had to stop myself from asking the question how is it so cheap! Lovely roll for lunch with good choice of fillings but jackets also looked tasty and the main meals. Smoothies, ice creams, cakes, coffees lots of lovely food to choose from at amazing prices. Staff are really friendly- seems like a lovely initiative and pleased we have supported it. Please visit this cafe if you are in Lincoln- absolute gem!

We have visited twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times the food and service were excellent and the food is amazing value. Also it is set in a nice location so we had a little walk through the Arboretum afterwards. Thoroughly recommend.

This is the café for my local park. I've been several times since I moved. The drinks, especially the smoothies are very good but what really makes it stand out is the service. As it's a training establishment, everyone is very friendly and eager to help. It's unusual to have the door held open for you by a member of staff but I've had that here. I haven't had a meal here yet but the prices are very reasonable (less than £5 for a main course) and they always look good. Would highly recommend.

This place is abit hit and miss depending on the trainees working, its hard to give a rating because it after all a training cafe , sometimes it seems there are to many staff on and they seem to assume that people have been seen to because the initiative isnt there, sometimes communication to the kitchen isnt upto scratch and orders come out wrong , other times its spot on and staff cant do enough, they dont like you to tweek orders though quite strict with orders, reasonably priced , chefs are professional, nice location.

Came over for birthday holiday and decided to visit this place as friend works here. Food is really great had 3 egg omelette with bacon mushrooms and cheese and it tasted delicious. The coffee tasted like a real coffee nicely hot and delicious. Overall really great experience 100% will be back when I come over to visit again.

I recently discovered the cafe due to a friend of mine taking up a course through their L&D programme having only just eaten there today i am astounded at how good the quality and price is, the portion sizes are perfect and full of flavour, this is definitely an establishment i would and will recommend to friends, family and visitors to lincoln. This cafe now ranks as #1 on my Best Cafés in Lincoln list. You can see, smell and taste that the food is all freshly cooked and such good prices too. Cleanliness is also at the top of their priority list. The trainees are always eager to please and very professional, this being a testament to the dedication of the staff. A ‘not for profit’ organisation means no one hungry and in poverty would ever be turned away. As well as that, this cafe is also a ‘safe space’. So if you ever need refreshment, you need to head here that also has the added bonus of being set in one of the most parks in Lincoln. ❤️✌🏻

We have been to the cafe almost daily as I’m a patient at the hospital and it’s a lovely walk through a peaceful place. The Stokes coffee is consistently good, as is my wife’s toasted tea cake. (We are creatures of habit). The staff are first class. Each and every one takes customer service and satisfaction seriously, and always have a kind word to say. It’s a pleasure to take out breaks here.

Took some friends from Hull to the cafe on Monday for lunch and we were all really pleased. . Great food served by lovely people . What a gem of a place .

Very cheap, good food and the service was excellent.....our food was a little late so they gave us 3 cups of tea on the house and apologised....cannot say fairer than that, food was very good and at £5.50 per large breakfast was good value for...

Not the first time I have been here but it's the first time since lockdown. Some of the arrangements have changed but the food quality and service hasn't. Excellent as ever. You are always made to feel welcomed here and the staff will spend some time with you if you fancy a chat. You pay penny's for a meal worth 5 times the price they charge, I would happily pay more than what they charge and remember having to check the bill the first time I came because it was so cheap! Keep the great work up!

Although this is a training café the food is always freshly cooked and delicious, the service is second to none, all thanks to the excellent guidance of Sharron. A happy place to eat.

6 of us visited the cafe today and experienced fantastic service, wonderful food and friendly staff. This was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a cafe, arrived quickly, cooked perfectly and piping hot. A big breakfast with toast and hot drink for a fiver, brilliant. Came in midweek for a snack and ended up leaving having a full meal and taking some cake away with me. The food is brilliant and so cheap. The only shame was the weather outside but the staff bought some sunshine to my day with very friendly service

What can I say a friendly welcome everyone was polite. Quick service. Great choice tasty food and drinks. Lots of grub for very little money. We had 2 small breakfasts with toast and tea for £6. You can’t get one breakfast for that anywhere else. Plus I will say they were small more medium.If you want quality at a small price in a friendly setting get yourselves here.

You honestly can not beat this place! Everything is is so cheap as it is a training cafe but the quality is better than most restaurants as the staff make sure all the food is to the best possible standard or it wont leave the kitchen. They have some talented chefs working with their learners and always have great specials on.

Myself and family have been coming to the arboretum frequently for a couple of years now. We have never been disappointed.

This cafe doesn't fail to deliver good food at a very good price. The food is served hot and with good customer service. You wouldn't really think it was a training cafe!
