Mint Lane Cafe in Lincoln

Super spot with beautiful staff and a great ethos

Mint Lane Cafe is a safe, welcoming and inclusive café space in the heart of the City of Lincoln. The atmosphere is cosy, and I particularly recommend the freshly made cakes which are flavoursome and vegan, particularly the Mint Lane Mint Chocolate Cake which is very affordable at just £1 a slice! A variety of hot and cold drinks are available and there are plenty of tables which can be used for working out of the office. There is also a lovely garden space featuring a very colourful mural designed by local author and illustrator Helen Hancocks! The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable about food and customer service. Definitely call in and explore the menu and cakes if you're in Lincoln!

Nasty food msaka gave me diarrhoea. Cafe uses food that go off by the next day. They have an unrealistic zero waste mindset. Even when something doesn't taste nice and customers would not like it they don't listen.

Great food for great value. The big tables are lovely for social community eating. The cafe also stocks produce for sale for very affordable prices 👌 A bit hidden away but highly recommended

Very tasty food in a lovely little cafe. Great location just around the corner from the Stone bow and High Street. We came as a family with two children. Very cheap but great quality.

Really delicious wholesome homemade food at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay at a regular café. Very pleased to have supported no food waste.

Limited parking which makes me anxious.

Dropped in to pick up a "too good to go" box, and was presented with enough fruit and veggies to keep me going for a couple of weeks. Stayed for breakfast: and if I hadn't needed to be home, I'd have gone back for lunch, too (that veggie curry smelled amazing) Prices are tiny; portions generous, and everything is made from rescued ingredients. Fantastic; and I will be back

Went in today for first time to pick a veg box up, Coffee a quid, bacon sandwich a quid,well laid out little cafe, 2 mins walk off the main high street.Polite staff, what's not to like

A fantastic little place now open Thurs, Fri and Sat. Lots is fresh and frozen food, boxes, tins and treats. Unlimited Coffee too for just £1 and a 3 Course meal for only £3. It's well organised clean and tidy and welcoming and a very pleasant experience.

This is such a great place to visit and now even better it's open Fridays too. Let's get things back to some normality. There is an abundance delicious food. Two punnets of bug juicy strawberries for just £1.

An Excellent Community Cafe for everyone. Always welcoming run by Volunteers. Good food, very reasonably priced. Good company. Also fluctuating stock of Grocery Goods @ greatly reduced prices. Highly recommended, right in the centre of town. As good as any Restaurant. 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Mint Lane Community Cafe.. Fabulous place to eat very friendly and a good place to meet new people. The cooks are amazing and should be on telly or creating their own cook books and the food is cooked freshly from scratch. You can also buy sandwiches £1,cakes and biscuits. The coffee and teas are very good too. As well are jacket potatoes with various filling you can have a 3 course meal for £3. Definitely would recommend this lovely little gem.

Its relaxed attitude food is good as I know they rely on donations staff friendly and the shop helps my budget.

The experience is awesome, the people and staff are very welcoming.. this is a fantastic place to eat, drink, relax and be happy.. I will be recommending Mint Lane to friends and family..

What an amazing asset to Lincoln! Friendly atmosphere I went in alone, had home made fish pie which was Devine! Their motto is friendship through food, I ended up chatting to an inspirational guy and left satisfied both nutritionally and socially. My new “go to” place!

I had a great 3 course friendly lunch here today. Vegetable tartlet chicken casserole with veg Apple crumble and custard all served with friendship and a smile

Lovely friendly place, food looked and smelt fantastic, i couldn't have any as i was having a meal at home. I had a coffee and sat chatting, it was my first time there and i was made to feel very welcome, prices are very good and service was exceptional,

As this place was used this Thursday evening for a group meeting for Headway Lincolnshire, there is 1 big drawback. That is lack of parking space, caused by all of the alterations to the nearby buildings. During the daytime Mint Lane Cafe does some very good meals, low prices. All to enable everyone to help Lincolns Homeless community. !!!

Have been half a dozen times now with different groups of friends and it's always been an excellent choice. The food is excellent and far superior to any Indian restaurant I have been to before. This is not your quick curry and a poppadom visit. And make sure you taste the mint leaves at the end. Inspired.

The Mint Room is unlike the 'run of the mill' Indian restaurant. The ingredients used in the dishes are far more varied. Several fish choices which suits me as I don't eat meat. The spices used in the dishes are very tasty but not mouth burning hot . We were dining as a couple but I think it would also work with a group of friends. It has a smart but relaxing ambience. Staff were very efficient and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and would definitely go back.

First visit wow staff excellent very attentive, food excellent everything to a high standard. Lounge area to sit & have a drink before our meal & browse the menu, light music in the background still able to talk. The best Indian restaurant we have visited in Bristol. Advise you book also parking meters to pay up to 9pm.

A pre-dinner drink in the relaxing bar area was the perfect start to the weekend. Excellent service, interesting, beautifully presented food and a great drinks list. Although it wasn't the best Indian food we've ever tasted, the ambiance, pace and welcoming service more than made up for it and overall we had a lovely evening.

I've been here before and will definitely go again. Our waiting staff were very helpful and extremely nice. I was particularly impressed when I asked them to move some lilies (to which I am allergic) and they took them right out of the room. The food was great too!!

Had been planning a trip to mint room for a while - wish I hadn't left it so long! The food was beautiful, certainly not a normal Indian - original dishes with deep flavours. Great vegetarian and fish options.

It's great Indian cuisine, the flavours are well balanced, the service is attentive but not in your face and who would have thought that Indian desserts could be totally moreish. The ingredients are fresh and you don't wake up the next day dehydrated or bloated! If you want to you can pick healthy options too.

This is my new favourite! Great food and really lovely personal service. Do not leave without trying the quail or scallop starters and my chicken lababdar was amazing! Soooo will be back!

Fourth visit to mint room but first Saturday night. Food and service were excellent as always however as the restaurant was almost completely full wasn't easy to hold a conversation. That said we still had a brilliant meal and will definitely be returning.

The prices are high but well worth the money and ambience. Will be returning soon.

The Mint Room lived up to recent recommendations. The atmosphere matched the food in its sophisticated flavours and presentation. Attentive, pleasant service and a good choice of wines and cocktails. The only drawback was being seated near a noisy party, but I'm sure they enjoyed themselves! Next time we visit we'll request a table in a quieter area.

We are trying not to go here too often, but it is difficult to resist. The dining room can get a bit noisy when it is full, but the service is always excellent and the food is at the interesting end of the spectrum. You don't come away feeling like you have just eaten half an elephant!
