One of the best fast food restaurants I've ever been to. Fantastic food, friendly staff, clean facilities.

The worst burger that I ever tasted in life . Both chicken and handmade beef petty is hard like stone . Can't even divide with the highest powder uses of my teeth's. I would never come here again and wouldn't recommend anyone. I ruined £30 .

expensive compared to other chicken shops on the same road, I guess you pay for the extra quality though.

The food is extremely delicious and tasty (with a taste of tanginess 😍). Ahmed and team are really doing a great job with the services and food. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have an extremely delightful food and experience.

My favourite place to eat in or take out no body can beat there grilled chicken in whole off Hampshire highly recommended to every chicken lover

Absolutely delicious! I popped into this lovely presented restaurant spontaneously after a hard week’s work! Looking for a treat to say thank you to myself! I work shifts and don’t get back to Southampton until after 23:20pm. There is not much ever open or still serving at that time! I have to say I am so impressed! Every restaurant has their own spin on how they present their food and sauces and of course not every restaurant will be the same, so appreciating different takes on food is my way of experiencing something I have never had before! After all we can’t compare ourselves or anything these days! For me myself and my experience it was excellent!! The only thing I would have liked different is the chicken to be a lot more succulent which I hope will be taken as constructive criticism. Thank you for a great first experience of tasty, well presented food with staff that really do care and that is hard to find! Keep it up! 😊

I have been ordered food by uber eats .they gave my main meals but they didn’t give extra slides which i paid

I really liked the chicken options here. We tried the original chicken (Extra hot) and sticky wings - honey and garlic. The taste was super. Being a spice lover, I really enjoyed the extra hot sauce they provided. Piri Piri fries were normal. I would recommend trying Rio's Piri Piri.

A lot of the piri piri places round here leave a lot to be desired when it comes to flavour and spice. Not Rio's, their extra hot flavour chicken is bloody fantastic!

The staff are really welcoming, and the food is tasty, but I've got to dock only two star because the prices are high! £20 for 6 pc chicken + 3 wings? The same size platter was just £16 in London a few days ago (Sam's Chicken 2xCombo NW10 4SJ). Seems like this place is even pricier than London!

By far worst chicken shop in portswood. I only ordered a small amount and had to wait 15mins, then when it comes to taste it didn't taste fresh it was more like rubber than juicy.

I had chicken double burger, it was a bit dry. Chips were ok but the mayonnaise was a bit runny. The tables were clean and the dining area. They had nice music on.

We have tried their beef burger and half peri peri chicken. The chicken was tasteless and tangy. They don't know how to cook peri peri chicken. The double pattie beef burger tasteless. The chips was delicious. They don't have proper cutlery for peri peri chicken. They keep some wooden cutlery at the counter. The wooden cutlery broken apart when I tried to cut the chicken. The mayonnaisaie and chilli sauce was so watery. This is the worst food place I have ever visited.

Best customer service and vibe with exceptionally tasy burgers

I came here for the first time and definitely don't regret it. Firstly the cleanliness and vibe of the restaurant was amazing and when trying to decided what to pick, Nouman who really patient with me recommended me some things. His service was outstanding and shocked me of how good he was. I ordered the beef burger and peri peri chicken wings. The taste topped my expectations. Definitely will come back :)

Absolutely delicious chicken, I only had the mild marinade it was plenty spicy enough for me, so much depth of flavour.The rice is very good too. Will definitely be going back.

my hometown is in Australia but I just visited UK went to rio piri piri South hampton and the rest is that the best burgers in town and best chicken and rice. Had the most wonderful time and food. 6.10pm, Saturday 13 January 2024. Worst service ever! Called in and ordered a Diletto and fries and was told to collect in 10 mins. Went in and they hadn't even processed the order. Told it would be another 10-15 mins. When I explained it should have already been ready they said it would take 5 mins. Another 15 mins later it was finally handed to me when I asked the staff how much longer it would take. There was no explanation or apology from the staff for their mistake. I will never be going there again!!!!😡

Great quality food and good service. However can be quite pricey for the portion but worth it for the quality of food. I would recommend if you're wanting 'Peri Peri' chicken.

I’m not rating one star as I don’t want to bring your rating down. Ordered 17.14pm today, I only wanted one extra sauce on top of the 2 included and you charged me extra one more hat I didn’t ask for and peri salt…That would be okay and acceptable if I didn’t have to wait 35mins for the food, 35mins wait whilst there’s one customer inside and 1 Deliveroo order.. My main gripe is that the meals were all cold, not even warm. I come weekly to Rios but today was a terrible experience… All the food was cold but the strips, couldn’t you prepare the food in accordance with the whole order being ready…

As someone who's been to all the Piri-Piri places in Portswood, I can definitively say that this is the best one. My go-to is usually the extra-hot chicken rice, which is juicy and full of flavour! A lot of places really skimp out on the sauce and the rice ends up very dry, but not with these guys. The wings are also nice and juicy. Service is relatively fast and the staff is very friendly. The only negative is that their trays are quite wobbly lol...

I just had whole chicken with chips and rice ,the food is very good , it has flavour, the lemon and herb is brilliant, I've tried a lot of places in Southampton but I personally think Rios Peei Peri is the best grilled place in Southampton at the moment. 👌

One of THE BEST burger places in Southampton and my regular go-to place to calm my spice cravings 😋The staff are lovely and always smiling. The atmosphere is great for visiting with friends and family or even for a meal alone.
