Rio’s Piri Piri in Oxford

The food was average but need to applaud the driver who was incredibly polite and considerate - he is a worthy asset to JE circuit

I won’t be ordering again I will collect myself from now on staff at Rio’s were helpful my order was collect at 5.58 and it was delivered at 18.40 it’s not acceptable the delivery driver was very apologetic and very professional and nice so I can’t complain about about him as a person but I feel the system of orders isn’t good enough which is so sad as we were looking forward to our take away it cost £40 which is a lot of money for an awful meal which we had to reheat I’ve taken photos to prove

Loved the Peri Peri family platter, which is hot. Too hot & spicy loved it. People who love hot foods can try the Peri Peri chicken extremely hot. Good food and flavors are too good mild, hot & extra hot. Great food

When I ordered, it showed me approximately 25 min to deliver. Which was basically supposed to be delivered by 9 45 pm. But the delivery location was stuck and kept on increasing the timing, finally it got delivered after more than 1 hour 15 minutes, around 10 30 pm. The food was cold, the drink was not at all cold, it was not even room temperature. I did specify that i want more sauce in the rice box, still the rice underneath the paneer was absolutely dry and plain. The fries had less peri peri

Generally I was one of regular customer of this shop because I was living in John snow place near headington shop. Yesterday I ordered 3 extreme hot chicken rice and I requested to be get ready when I will be there because mostly there is a parking issue. They said 15 min I go there in 30 min to just make sure there will be ready. First, order preparation time is long; second when we checked at home; this 3 box even not a spicy but I requested extreme hot. The order was completely wrong. I felt very very bad and I decided never to go there again for food. I request to management be responsible for others those who still are coming to you Thanks

Very cold and send the wrong sauce

Absolute shambles!!! I would give this place 0 stars, honestly the place has gone down hill from what I knew it as previously. Went in on Saturday evening, ordered the chicken loaded chips and the cheesy loaded chips, the dark Indian male server goes "oh we don't have that", then the other staff member say's "yes we can make that" so it was added to the order. Then I wanted the Rancho burger meal and he then said "we don't have that one" I said what other beef/cheese burgers do you have, he goes "we don't do beef now, we are out of beef", I said no problem just the two fully loaded chips with two large piri chips. The same server then goes "are you paying cash or card" I said card, he then goes "our card machine is not working", I said thank you very much, have a good evening and walked out. Ended up at Pepe's piri piri on Cowley Road and placed the same order, they had everything and genuinely the food was delicious. Avoid Rio's and go to Pepe's, trust me.

My chicken burger was solid I couldn’t even bite into it it was hard where it had been left to over cook, only ate my chips and had to Chuck the burger!!

Rio Peri Peri in Headington is our go-to spot any time of the day! The food always hits the spot and suits our taste buds no matter the time—whether it’s a quick lunch, dinner, or late-night craving. The customer service is consistently excellent, whether we’re dining in, getting takeaway, or ordering delivery. Everyone working there is great, but we have to give a special shoutout to Mr. Sion—he’s our personal favorite! The place is always clean and hygienic, which makes the experience even better. Rios is one of my go to spot in Oxford, really fantastic fast food! Their burgers are outstanding, especially the Frango, which I highly recommend. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Definitely a must try.

Walking into this place is like watching a disaster unfold. The staff member ignored me until his colleague practically screamed at him to serve me. When he finally showed up, part-way through taking my order he decided to have a full-on conversation with his delivery driver friend to care about completing the order. I had to literally interrupt them, and then he says the card machine isn’t working—yeah, right. The food is okay, but they’ve clearly hired the wrong people.

Used to be really nice but recently became very disappointing. Since not accepting card (‘card machine not working’) 1. way too long waiting time - this has always been an issue so kinda ok when it was worth waiting back then but now questionable. 2. Sauce is not enough .. just dry and not spicy at all despite getting the spiciest one.

Food is tasting okay, however this is more of a takeaway place. Strange also that it accepts online order by credit card , but will force you to pay cash only in the food place itself. Not sure I would recommend hence the mid range rating.

The food is OK I guess but 99% of the time they forget items or sm like they also get toppings wrong ALLL THE TIME like today they forgot my mozerella sticks the only reason I went but when I took the receipt it accidentally ripped so I couldn't use it to prove they never gave it to me even though I paid for them but they still wouldn't give it to me this is REALLY BAD service and I hope to be reimbursed for my lose

Sadly the food arrived cold, the drinks packed with the hot food meant the food was cold - also food appeared stuffed into a bag rather than placed - not a deal breaker, food was still reasonable

Chicken really dry just didn't eat it

The expected delivery time was 6:50pm at first, then they changed it to 6:55, and so on. Finally received my order at 7:30pm. Took them more than an hour to prepare a burger and fries!!! Will never order again from this takeaway.

ordered the meal at 12.04pm when the estimated time was between 12.45- 13.05 at my order came to me at 12.29 after looking for the driver as he had parked up at the other side of the road to where I was. the food came cold and very disappointed by both the vendor and the driver. I tried calling the vendor numerous times to find out where my order was but the line was busy on their side.

I know this is only a takeaway, and maybe I was just really hungry, but the Chicken and Rice box I had tonight exceeded my expectations so much that I had to leave a review. I ordered for pick up and ate in. I got the Lemon and Herb Chicken and Rice box for £7.99 - got 20% off my first order with the app, yuhhh! The chicken pieces had a nice crisp on the edges, tender and flavourful throughout. I didn't even have it with sauce because it was seasoned well enough. The rice was well cooked and seasoned too. It looks like a small box initially, but they pack it to the brim and it got me full! If this were delivered, it might not have been as good after sitting in a bag, travelling, external temp changes. Pick up the food yourself if you don't want to risk that and missing items - the staff are only human and it gets busy in there. Personally, the service I received this evening was great: efficient, helpful and kind. Worth a sit in if you're hungry late at night and the other fast food options in Headington don't tickle your fancy.

The burger with Beef patties was awful. The patties were as if they had no taste & were put directly on the grill from fridge (burnt as well). The chicken breast was fine with outer area a bit harder (again seemed old). The pero period chips were great.

Came on time for once. It's not really their fault it's the green road roundabout always causing problems. The chicken was tasting you get bigger size and more for your money than KFC

1 hour and a half wait for food with the excuse that they are waiting for a driver. Bloke on the phone sounded surprised to hear that I wasn’t interested in eating cold scran.

Ordered 3x loaded fries. 1.30 hour wait and no show. Contacted them and as our number was recognised they did not pick up. So used another number and they picked up immediately as they thought it was a new order. Said the food had been made and was sitting there waiting for a driver. Expected us to wait longer to have food delivered that had been sat for 1.30hrs. Total joke, avoid like the plague unless you wanna lose weight by disentry.......

Once again, this is my favourite place to order food from, in Oxford. The prices are quite valid in this day and age and the food is always very tasty. Thank you for always providing good service, and also the delivery was speedy and the driver was very nice

Good customer service and hospitality

Most Fridays, we order lunch from this place, but our recent experience was disappointing. We placed our order through UberEat, and a pack of chips and a can of drink were missing. However, the main issue was with the chicken and rice, which is my usual order. When it arrived, there was an unpleasant smell that did not allow me to eat it. I thought it might just be me, so I tasted it, but couldn’t handle the odor. I asked my colleague to check, and they confirmed it. I had to throw the meal away and took a photo as evidence -cannot upload here it's giving me errors but I can show it to the store owner. Unfortunately, this was my last order from this place, which is disappointing since I used to enjoy the piri piri chicken and rice.
