Amazing place to have fun and good food

Arrived with my Cousins for breakfast.. 1st class service from a young lady.. Jen l believe she explained to us all the options prices avaliable.. Thank you "Jen" we all gave you a 5*service and made us feel very welcomed, great communication skills for a lovely smiley professional at front of desk. Brill... Breakfast they had a lots of choices so really could not fault anything.Thanks to AJ too at breakfast who took our payment and he was really polite friendly 5* Thank you both for great service. RNLI we were very pleased and will return because of the service.

A coffee visit to the Slipway bar so no food eaten. Lovely cafe with great views over Holes Bay and any money spent supports the RNLI

Feel a little guilty as this is my first review of the RNLI Riggers Restaurant. Dined there a few times and it's always been 5 star for the price. Unfortunately, today wasn't a great day for the beef! The fish was fab. Asked for a consideration on the aforementioned beef (steak) as only approximately half was edible. 20% off was all the staff were able to offer. Considerate, but not commensurate, in my humble opinion.

Poor selection on Lunch Buffet, unappealing dishes, food lukewarm. Not happy with the server not using tongs to handle my wrap and used his hands with no gloves on. Also saw a member of staff in the kitchen breaking cooked mince up with his hands, no gloves again.

We went to Sunday lunch with 2 friends. We were all of the same opinion. Roast potatoes were poor Cauliflower cheese watery, cheese sauce non existent. The carrots and other were fine, but in general the food was warm, not hot The roast beef under cooked. I cook at home, cooking needs a little imagination, this was not present. Very disappointed

Most amazing experience. Clean and tidy. Excellent food, James the chef made a special meal for dietary requirements. Beautiful sunset from the slipway bar balcony.

We had a lovely lunch in The Riggers restaurant. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again!

Very unusual location great views

I don't like to complain but sometimes I believe is a good thing to do to help the place improves. In this occasion the complaint is about the food, chicken pie was bad it didn't have any chicken in there,. We have to made many complaints with the waiter to be able to speak to the manager. We have to pay the bill anyway.

Nice friendly staff. Lunch buffet style. Coffee and cake was OK. Good views across the water.

Took my father there for father's day all was good until I ordered my which was bitter top but ended up with a pint of lager which I couldn't drink due having to drive apart from that was good

Beautiful location with harbour views and outdoor tables and sofas. Service was cheery and genuine. We had sweet potato soup which was homemade. Our steaks were super tasty and I loved that the mushrooms and tomatoes had been done on the steak griddle. So super juicy and tasty. Chips really good too.

Food ok. Upstairs the staff seem disinterested.

The food was really nice. My husband had a bacon cheese burger, and I had the chicken burger. Both were delicious. The service was friendly.

Traditional English breakfast for under GBP 10.00.

We had breakfast here as part of our stay at the RNLI. The breakfast buffet was a typical English breakfast with limited choice for the health conscious eater. Food was processed and fried. Only clean eating options were fruit, with around 30% of fruit rotten in the bowl. We had to look through the bowls carefully to find fresh and unspoiled fruit. Passed by the lunch buffet also to see ultra processed and fried food. I would not recommend this restaurant to the clean eating and health conscious clientele.

Great food in a very clean well run restaurant. Staff very friendly. Great value

Booked lunch as a birthday present for a friend. Didn’t realise it was a self service cafeteria. Ordered Prosecco which was plonked on the table unopened? 3 glasses came all different sizes, one covered in lipstick. Not very friendly when I asked for a new one. Ice bucket eventually arrived, filled to the brim with ice, no room for the bottle? Got our own food, cheap but small portions. Not a great choice. My beetroot wellington was crushed into my plate.

Snacks are ok main restaurant for is disappointing although the view and coffee are good. Great atmosphere and chilled out vibe.

My partner and I treated my Mum to afternoon tea at the RNLI today for her 80th birthday. The food and drink was fantastic, the views amazing, and the service was absolutely first-rate. We will definitely return in the future.

First time visiting this place, on a Sunday and they had carvery. Very warm and welcoming place offering great views of the harbour and also very affordable pricing. Definitely will come back for afternoon tea on the upper level!!

I didn't like the food i had maybe just seen the lifeboat with my wife's name on it i didn't't feel like eating i think that is why I didn't enjoy it much

Great place to escape the hub-bub of Poole, great views over the water carvery especially good, upstairs bar a good place for a beer or coffee and cake. Very relaxed

We had an excellent Afternoon Tea on Sunday, the staff were very attentive and efficient, nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return.

Brilliant cafe with a view over Poole Harbour and in the RNLI centre. Only had a coffee but it was lovely.

3 stars across the board, not going to win any awards but I have eaten in worse places.

Onsite parking (not free) and a great Sunday carvery. Nice bar with great views. Excellent service and all for a good cause. One of my favourite places to eat near Bournemouth.

We recommend the Sunday Roast, it was Delicious! There is no service at the tables but waiters clear them. We'll definitely come back again.

Really impressed with this place a bit hard to find (it's in the main RNLI centre) nice food nice price nice staff - we liked it that much after our meal we stayed outside on the terrace and watched the sunset over the harbour with a few drinks of course 😀

The waiting staff were so good, accommodating us outside and then inside. All three meals were cooked to perfection and very nicely presented. Great decore, atmosphere and all excellent value for money.

Just a drink but superb view and watched bridge open

Went for my mothers birthday. Sunday evening carvery. Parked on the road just outside for free, but understand you have to pay £1.50 if you use their car park. Lovely staff, who were attentive. We sat upstairs for the view, which is the bar area, but they reserved us a table, as we had nine in our party. Food was okay, nothing overly speical, and it was pretty cheap, i think £10 for one course, £14 for two, and £18 for three. A pretty chilled atmosphere, and I can imagien on a warmer day, it would be a lovely place to eat.

Fantastic restaurant. Great bar. Very interesting place to relax and unwind. A little jem of a place, well off the beaten track in Poole but full of character. Well worth a visit when in Poole and definitely a location to see and experience. 10/10.

A lovely restaurant, with a lovely atmosphere, view over the marina, and the inside is exquisitely decorated. The burger was juicy and tasty, the chips nice and fluffy inside, and the burger sauce delicious. The chocolate fudge cake, off of the specials menu for today (Saturday) was also nice. The only note I have is the glasses were a bit streaky, maybe due to how the dishwasher works, so maybe a change in how they are cleaned is needed. Other than that, I would definitely go back and recommend all to go and try out the Riggers Restaurant, not least to help support the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea.

Very embarrassed after taking people for lunch here. Expecting a good menu as shown on the website but there was just a very limited choice of mediocre buffet food. We will certainly not be returning!!

This restaurant has unfortunately gone right down hill. They have changed the menu and not for the better. The food was tasteless and overpriced for what it was. Only 2 vegan options and no rice even though on the menu. Really expected better as this restaurant used to be excellent. Won't be going back.

The service was good, buffet but everything was, fresh, and clean. Food was average, but the winner was the view, especially when went upstairs to the bar.

Afternoon tea brilliant, lot's to look at, relaxing atmosphere

Terrible food, hard uncooked potatoes. No vegetables at all, but plenty pasties etc, no very appetising!! Also, no puddings only cakes and croissants left from breakfast?

Excellent place to eat or go for a drink, whilst supporting a great charity at the same time. Good selection of dishes on the menu and reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

What a great harbour side location ,great sunset and view of daily sea traffic. The breakfast was the best I've had for yonks. The staff service was excellent young staff with a great attitude and fun to talk to. I'm coming again.

What a find and stunning location.

Wanted to eat out somewhere a bit different for mums birthday. She loved the fact that you could sit out and overlook the lifeboats and also thoroughly enjoyed a mooch in the onsite souvenir shop. We ate in the Riggers restaurant, which is also used as the canteen for all the RNLI staff. This meant that the prices were incredibly reasonable. Just £6.95 for a main meal such as jacket potato with sausage casserole and salad or a chicken tikka masala curry and rice. Lovely range of desserts, cakes, cookies, etc. from just £1.50. The restaurant manager was jovial and welcoming and explained how to get served and showed us to our table. Limited paid for parking on site also was a bonus as mum can't walk far.

Delicious roast pork and vegetables at a fair price in pleasant surroundings. However no advanced menu to be seen before you queue and we never did receive the promised bread roll to accompany the soup.

Great meal at the RNLI college. A great place to stay and to eat, all the while supporting the RNLI. Good selection of food, tasty and well presented. Staff excellent and you cannot get a more impressive or interesting view.

I am a regular at the riggers with our party monthly Sunday lunch normally with no problems. This time it was bad from the start as we booked in by phone no booking when we got there so had to wait while a table was sorted, food was not hot, and a bit mean on the portions. While having our table sorted another party turned up with there booking not down. This needs to be sorted you can book by phone or on line it is causing problems for the staff on the day having to apologise and trying to fit people in.

Nice views, good food, staff helpful but over jealous on removing plates before all guests have finished, a little more training needed to make it a perfect 5 star.

Riggers is right on Poole Harbour waterfront within the RNLI college. It has a vibrant ambience and excellent food and service. Although part of the college it welcomes outsiders but you need to book.

Lunchtime visit, restaurant busy, bar area less so, well looked after by welcoming and efficient staff; freshly made sandwiches tasty and filling, worth a visit, supports essential life saving service with predominantly volunteer personnel.

Only had a sandwich and coffee this time, as we had the dog and sat outside. Staff are always welcoming, and very well priced.

Took my family who had Sunday lunch but found the chefs rude... I wasn't being difficult but did happen to announce that I don't eat meat (it was kind of necessary) and received one of those reactions...🙄. There was basically nothing for vegans apart from a reproachful glare, vegetarians got gravy that resembled some browney coloured water.. .it was all a pretty poor effort with attitude, not really what you go out to eat for... a little customer service goes a long way. I recommend they try it. It really doesn't hurt that much.

Riggers Restaurant is run by the RNLI College in Poole to raise funds for the charity. It is absolutely fabulous in every way. Treat yourself to fantastic food and help support the RNLI Charity.

Food is overpriced for what it is. Quality ingredients aren't used and food is often cold. It's nice to eat here for the novelty but if you're after a nice meal I'd steer well clear!

We came 30 minutes walk from the other side of the city as it was showing that the restaurant is open on Google. Then we arrived to a half empty restaurant but they refused to have us because they said they serve only local costumer

Really nice spot, well priced and friendly staff. Kept clean and decent food. Could do with one or two more veggie options on the main menu. Breakfast buffet was great, far better than expected.

The starter was good. However, I was disappointed with the so-called 'piri piri chicken skewers' they were average in taste (no piri hotness) and seemed as if they were out of a packet and not freshly prepared?

Slight under par...but all part of the experience. Overall GREAT.

Worth a visit if you are in Poole

Great restaurant with decent food and amazing views.

Group of us Booked in for Sunday dinner. And from the moment of collecting a tray it went down hill. All trays had left over food that hadn't been cleaned off. The carvery itself was a car crash, although the server done his best. Meat was chewy,veg was undercooked... the stuffing balls, I genuinely think they hadn't even made the oven..... it's gone down hill massively, and it's a shame.

This is a favourite place to eat. The food is so tasty, lots of choice and just like home made. The prices are so reasonable and the staff are really friendly and engaging. I would highly recommend it. Also, if you can get a seat near the window you have a great view across Holes Bay where you can watch and boating activities.

First time we have been, very impressive place. We had an afternoon tea, the food was all very nice, only small criticism would be that the tea wasn’t particularly nice and we weren’t offered coffee. On a side note the roast dinners looked very nice, would love to go back and give the roast a try.

Chicken burger was very tasty, once of the best I ever had. Stunning view of the bay enjoyable from the table.
