We had lunch here today and once again it was really good. We do tend to support this local business and it’s not unusual for us to be in here two or three times per month. Food is always very good, tasty and freshly cooked.

Visited in May as my parents like it here, warm and welcoming staff and fabulous gluten free range. Rigby’s was busy but tables not too close together so still felt spacious. Sandwiches and coffee all really fresh and tasty we will be back.

On the 01.03.23 we called in for the above. We were disappointed with the breakfast as the tomato was not cooked / Bacon was not well done as was asked for at the ordering point / were also charged 50p for scrambled egg (egg already included in the price), this was not mentioned at the time of ordering / the toast was very burnt / one of the slices of bacon was raw.

We visited for breakfast and my mum has a severe egg allergy so asked to remove her egg from her breakfast and instead have a hash brown in which she got the reply “we don’t do swaps” very blunt. That was fine and she said she would happily pay for a hash brown, yet the woman’s face still acted annoyed at that. When the food came there was still an egg on her plate and when we said sorry it isn’t meant to be there, the same woman’s reply was “for gods sake” and we never received an appology. We then had to just remove the egg ourselves, yet this could have beeb very serious and sent her into anaphylactic shock. We are very disappointed as the staff are usually lovely and we visit quite often but we’ve never seen this woman before, she may have just been having a bad day but it could have ended very badly and were very shocked not one appology was given.

First visit in a little over two years. I took a friend for lunch. When we arrived about a third of the tables were free. Shortly after we ordered our food and drinks every table was full. Our drinks were delivered first, followed shortly after by our meals. The food and coffees were delicious. Well worth the visit.

Been for breakfast menu previously before COVID set in and it was lovely. Invited visiting friends for lunch there today and all meals were average at best. We had two of the specials board meals, Turkey and cranberry barm with chips and salad. One slice of turkey in a very thin barm with a few chips and coleslaw £8.50. And Salmon fish cakes. Hard in texture and not the best flavour. Left disappointed and slightly embarrassed as I’d recommended the location.

Called in for a lunch with my wife, I went up to the counter to order a small and a large brunch. These consist of sausage , bacon, fried eggs and chips with the small being one of each item and the large 2 of each. I requested could the small have two bacon and no sausage. This was blankly refused as they do not swap items. So I said don’t worry as we can swap between ourselves. I wanted a large black americano coffee and my wife a pot of tea. The drinks arrived within 5 minutes hot and fresh, we then had a 15/20 minute wait for the meals. When they arrived we thought we had got poached eggs by mistake, then we realised they were fried with the yolks cooked solid, the two on my plate were piled on top of each other, the bacon was cooked to a frazzle, dry and hard. The chips were as hard as bullets like they had been sat under warming lamps. I called the waitress over and explained this to her. She apologised and offered to get it cooked again, I declined as we had to go on somewhere else. I said a refund would suffice. The waitress took both meals away and reported to another young lady. We vacated our table to allow another disabled customer to sit down. The young lady first tried to offer my refund to the wrong table, she checked the receipt and approached the couple who had sat at our table. No one had bothered to point out which customers had made the complaint. I introduced myself to sort out the problem and I was given a verbal apology and a refund for the food. I did not argue and left our half finished drinks on the table.

Visited here with my husband and young son for breakfast. The food is ok, nothing special and the staff are quite miserable. You definitely do not get a friendly welcome. My wife & I have just had lunch. They were very busy with people having to wait to be seated, then wait for table to be cleared. Once we had decided what we wanted to eat and drink, I queued to order. The drinks were carried over shortly after by a waitress who cleared the table from the previous visitors.Around 20 minutes later the food was delivered. The food was piping hot but we had finished our drinks. The thought of queuing again for more drinks put me off ordering more. A very busy little cafe with too few staff for busy periods, especially school holidays. We will return.

We visited the cafe because we both fancied a hot breakfast. My wife had the vegetarian breakfast whilst I went for the full English. My wife’s meal was fine however mine came with burnt toast. I asked for some fresh toast then realised that my bacon was completely over cooked almost like cardboard; my baked beans were tepid and the mushroom looked like a piece of shoe leather! I cannot imagine any chef sending out food in that condition. The staff were very apologetic and replaced the bacon and toast and re-heated the beans. I am sure I have had a breakfast here more than once but never had to send anything back. Was the regular chef on holiday!! Having said that the coffee was great and it is still a very nice restaurant for a bit to eat.

I live very close to Pimbo Nurseries, but have not visited for some years. My friend had arranged to meet me for lunch and suggested the Coffee Shop. She is gluten intolerant and had enjoyed a previous visit, finding a good choice of gluten free food available. I was surprised to learn from the lovely waitress that the Coffee shop has been open nearly 8 years. I have not seen it advertised locally, but during our visit the flow of customers proved this has not been necessary. A good selection of breakfasts, hot and cold sandwiches, cakes scones, soups etc were available, plus Afternoon Tea, which I will try next time. On this occasion we had egg mayo and cress sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches. The bread was fresh, with chunks of roast chicken and salad, beautifully presented.

Have visited here on numerous occasions and have never been dissatisfied until this visit. We waited over 30 minutes to be served, which wasn’t too bad I suppose, because there were lots of customers. My daughter went to ask how long it would be until we got our food and was told that it would be at least 15 minutes because there were 2 orders they had to do before ours, which was fair enough because it was busy.

We have visited Rigby’s on many occasions for lunch but never for Christmas Lunch before. When we arrived we were greeted with a beautifully laid out table with festive decorations and crackers. The main meal we had was turkey with all the trimmings and to say it was outstanding is an understatement. The turkey was succulent, the mashed and roast potatoes were so tasty and the seasonal veg was plentiful. The dessert was a divine Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and sprinkled with icing sugar snow! The cost was also amazing for the quality of food served. My friend and I will certainly be visiting again in the New Year. Thank You to the chef and the very proficient and pleasant staff. X

I have visited the coffee shop several times over the last few weeks. I am currently on crutches and have struggled in some coffee shops but found these facilities easy to access as it is all on one level and spacious. This would be ideal for prams or wheelchairs and is a bright airy environment to have a chill and a coffee.

After browsing and buying items in the garden centre, we decided to call in for a coffee and cake. The service was very good and the shop was very clean. A disappointing experience at lunchtime today. Baked potato not very nice with watery Marie Rose sauce, plenty of prawns though. Unfortunately, the lady on the counter did not take very kindly to my returning a dirty drinking glass. Without a word, it was snatched out of my hand. She rummaged through remaining glasses to find a clean one. I didn't want an argument so didn't point out the replacement also had dirty drips on the outside. I think that some staff training is necessary and I won't be returning. It's a shame because the cakes and scones looked very tempting. The Garden Cente staff are informative and very pleasant. Their plants are beautifully displayed and in very good condition.

Went straight to the café for lunch today before looking round the garden centre. I ordered egg Florentine & my husband had a cheese & onion jacket potato. When our meals arrived after a 10-15 minute wait, my poached egg yolk was solid and the muffin was nearly cold-it was supposed to be toasted but I don't think it had been anywhere near a toaster. The jacket potato was ok. I thought it was a bit pricey too for a garden centre café -£8+ for prawn sandwiches!!! The staff who took our order & served drinks were friendly but when our food arrived there wasn't any 'enjoy your meal' nor did anyone ask 'if everything was ok'. Had I not paid upfront I would have let them know. We look forward to our lunches out on a Friday but this was so disappointing it dampened our enthusiasm for the garden centre and we didn't stay very long afterwards. Won't be in a hurry to return.

This is a place we go to regularly for lunch. Since changing their menu a few months ago, I am not as impressed as I was previously, and there is not as much choice. The portions also seem smaller. However the food is nicely cooked and the staff very friendly, it would be suitable for the disabled, Their cakes always look very tempting. We have been many times since it opened and this was our first visit since last autumn. I ordered a bacon, cranberry and Brie panini. It was the smallest panini I have ever seen. The bacon was so fatty. I took it back and was told they would make me another with "proper" bacon, not streaky. When paying £6.25 I did not expect streaky bacon. The second one looked nicer although it did take 20 minutes to arrive so I had to buy another hot drink to go with it. However, I thought the point of having cranberry and Brie in the same sandwich was to enjoy the contrast of sweet and salty. The bacon was totally tasteless. Very disappointing, I won't be in a rush to return, it used to be so much better.

I really like this place. Never had a bad word to say about it. However, this morning my cooked breakfast was just lukewarm and my fried egg not runny. This spoils the whole experience for me. Is it too hard to ensure food - especially fried food- is piping hot? We waited 20 minutes for it which is no problem for fresh, hot food. Hubby did ask for scrambled egg so maybe mine was waiting. His egg was piping hot so maybe mine was waiting around. Sorry to rant on but these things are important!

Have been here many times over the last couple of years and the standard of food for what you pay is very good (we keep going back and often see the same people coming back). The soups and traditional style salads in particular are great. Occasionally it can get a little too busy and the staff and kitchen get overwhelmed and things get delayed, but that can happen anywhere. Its a very clean bright place and the toilets are well looked after and there is a wheelchair accessible toilet. The cafe is in Pimbo Garden Centre and the plants also seem reasonably priced and always look good quality/well cared for.

Awful customer service. Short server with dyed blind hair really rude when simply asked for flavours of frappes. Took an interest while drinking our drinks and she was equally obnoxious with 200% of customers. 50% of tables not cleared and floor littered with discarded tissues. Place half empty on a busy market Saturday. 6 other coffee houses within 100 metres. Clearly people voting with their feet Server in question looked hungover, regularly going into back kitchen for 5 minutes breaks leaving a young server alone to cope. Fortunately, not too many customers to worry about. Starbucks next visit I think...
