I was here at brunch time today and a young chap, I didn’t quite catch his name but I think it was digbee, he served me my brunch. And he was quite rude at first as he just slammed my drinks on the table and walked off, didn’t say a word or didn’t smile. I let that go and decided to carry on with my day; but then when he came to collect my drinks and proceeded to swear under his breath and say “this fat b****” . I found this extremely enraging and unkind. As a result of this young disrespectful chap, I won’t be approaching this cafe any time again! Disgraceful!

Really nice place, but was a little noisy. The breakfast food was fantastic, I ordered the vegetarian option and opted for a poached egg, unfortunately the eggs tasted very strongly of vinegar, otherwise a nice meal. As someone previously commented, it did feel like the staff were watching ready to clear the table as you finish your last mouthful. Gripes aside, the location is great, the goats were a real treat and overall the food was good, a little expensive, but good.

I had already been twice in a week, so decided to take my son and grandaughter for breakfast. Although it was very tasty, it was quite expensive. However, on every single visit, the staff were hovering to take our plates. I only put my knife down, and they were asking to take plates away. This made me feel like they wanted us to leave seats as soon as we had eaten our last mouthful. The staff were quite young and really lacking smiles, something that costs nothing, but adds to a pleasant experience. Won't stop me coming as setting is beautiful.

I've visited Rickyards a few times now and i've never been blown away by the food but it's in a good location and the little ones love to see the goats. Anyways, today I visited with my two young children (ages 1 and 3) and my dad for lunch. I got them settled down at the table outside and went in to find the menus. I couldn't find any "little ones" menus so I asked a member of staff and she abruptly said in the "little ones" box but in a way that was belittling, I had already checked in there and that's why I was asking her. She obviously didn't want to help further. There was then a big queue so I waited to be served. As I got to the front of the queue to make my order, I had completely forgotten to check the table number. I explained where we were sat but the staff member said she couldn't take my order and I'd have to leave the queue to go and check it and rejoin. At this point an even bigger queue had formed behind me! So I would have had to have joined the back of the big queue after already waiting 10 mins. I can't understand why they couldn't take my order & then I could pop back with my table number so they could carry on serving or I'm sure the staff are familiar with where the tables are. Instead they were expecting me to queue twice. The staff member who I'd earlier asked the menus about again rudely commented to me that they were too busy and I had no option to leave the queue. I decided to leave. I really won't be returning as the food really isn't great anyways and combined with bad service, I'd much rather go elsewhere.

We had the afternoon tea which I had been brought as a gift for my birthday, the afternoon tea is served after two Tuesday to Thursday, the afternoon tea was lovely there was so many sandwiches which were delicious, good job they box up what you can’t eat, the only negative I think is only one drink included usually with afternoon tea you can get refills, but having said that would recommend, and there is a lovely garden out the back with tables and goats you can feed.

Myself and my brother along three children(all with SEND needs) went in a hike today and came across your cafe. By the time we found you, we had been walking for 5 hours, getting tired and covered in mud. You guys were so lovely. I love the muddy boot drop-off sign. The boys were worried you wouldn't let them in. The food was lovely, the service was fantastic. An error was made but quickly fixed, infact we didn't even notice the error until a member of your team pointed it out. My children felt safe. They loved feeding the goats and were so relaxed there.. even talking to other children. The whole atmosphere was lovely. You have now become our stop off point our weekly hikes.

I called the cafe a few days ago to book a table for Father’s Day to take my dad for breakfast. On the phone they stated they DO NOT take reservations on the weekend and that if we turn up they will more than likely find us a table. The reason I wanted to book is my dad is disabled and really struggles so wanted that security. I accepted the fact that they didn’t take reservations but would be happy to get/wait for a table on arrival. Upon arrival at around 10:30am there were quite a lot of empty tables at the back of the room but no one was being seated in them. I asked the server if we could go and take a seat and he said “those tables had been reserved”. I said to the server “I tried to reserve and was told you don’t take reservations?” He apologised and explained that those tables had been reserved for people by the owner and that it was unfortunately out of his control. I could tell everyone around me was disgusted by this as we were all waiting and yet there was lots of (reserved) empty tables. I really think this is appalling considering you “Don’t take reservations” after waiting for about 20 minutes we decided to leave. It’s such a shame that it’s one rule for one and one rule for another and quite frankley poor customer service.

Great food and drink, not overpriced for the quality of food. It has a car park, however the cafe gets very full around lunchtime and you may have to wait for a table. Service is very good considering the amount of customers when full.

Made a quick visit to Rickyard Cafe. It won’t be the last. Firstly those beautiful goats behind the cafe. That setting is just beautiful. Rickyards was so very clean. Quite sparkling. The staff matched, so very well turned out. Also so warm & friendly.. The staff matched the cafe Exactly, Pristine. Lovely coffee & tasty sandwich. The only one critism was the cake selection didn’t tempt me 😭. Otherwise just lovely. You could also purchase a small cup of goat food to feeds those babes. Kids just loved this option.

Perfect spot for a quick or leisurely drink, snack or meal. We popped in for lunch this week and the jacket potatoes were generously portioned with plenty of filling and salad on the side that was well dressed. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, always going above and beyond to ensure customers are satisfied. I am gluten free and everyone has always been super knowledgeable on what is suitable and how food is prepared.

We went for a fusion evening meal which are held every so often, you have to pay for food upfront and drinks on the night. The food was very tasty and presented well, the Crème brûlée was runny like custard so didn't quite hit the mark. In all very nice untill you pay for drinks. Our half penny rose wine was very nice and not bad at just under £10... but I was completely taken aback when we were charged £4.50 for bottle of water... I can't say it was a new bottle of water, as it had been opened before it reach our table and the bottle top was nowhere in sight, and no labels on the bottle, other tables had the cork top bottles, not sure if they had to pay... I'm sure it was a refilled bottle so always ask them to open it at your table... but seriously £4.50 for water either way is extortionate. Thanks to the staff who were polite and hard working

We visited early Sunday morning for breakfast, we both had the Rickyard full english, well cooked, only criticism is ditch the sour dough toast and I don't enjoy poached eggs cooked in vinegar water.

This was second visit to Rickyard, and a bit disappointed today. Had the baked potato with tuna mayonnaise. There is far too much mayonnaise used making it very sloppy and hardly able to taste the tuna.

Went here for Mother’s Day for Sunday lunch what can I say this has to be the best Sunday roast we have had in along time 3 course’s of absolute quality food so tasteful. Front of house staff were as usual very polite and attentive and the 3 courses were brought out with perfect time between courses. This made a perfect experience for Mother’s Day I want to thank all the staff, front of house and kitchen for a fantastic meal Cannot recommend highly enough..

Took a chance and found this cafe on the way back from a walking trip near Klent Hills. Glad that we did. Plenty of parking and the cafe itself has a nice spacious and quality feel to it. Menu is really good and there seems to be something to suit most tastes and appetites, ranging from carnivore to vegan. Staff seemed friendly and service was prompt. Food that we ordered was very good - and pricing seemed reasonable relative to portion size and quality. Only criticism would be that we had to ask for our table to be wiped down as it was still covered in mess from the previous occupants. Downside for us, is that it is yet another eating establishment that now allows dogs inside, so doubt that we will go again. However, if that is what you are looking for then this place could be a real find for you!

I felt I must say how much a group of us from the B123 walking group enjoy our visit yesterday. The moment we entered the cafe was outstanding. A Very warm welcome from all the staff and sheer professionalism from the front of house and kitchen staff. The breakfasts were so well presented. Hot and arrived so quickly. A Very well oiled operation and immaculately clean. We will certainly be back. Thank you Robert.

We have visited a couple of times both for breakfast and found Rickards to be very welcoming, and always clean. The full English breakfast is really good quality and is a decent size, and it's nice to get to choose how you want your eggs cooked. I had mine poached and they were perfectly cooked. The latte is also very good. We will definitely be coming back again, this time to try the lunch menu.

We visit The Dry Spy quite frequently for in my opinion, the best Sunday lunch locally. Last night, along with friends we visited on a Wednesday evening to try the fixed price midweek special menu. Absolutely brilliant, plenty of choice, great to have option of 1 = £12, 2 = £15 or 3 =£18 priced courses, all good size portions. The steak on mains is fabulous, as was the fish & chips. Staff so welcoming & attentive.

Well what can I say! Finally got the chance to try this lovely cafe. Went with a friend for breakfast, the menu was great, lots to choose from, we had the Courtyard breakfast which was lovely, this consisted of 1 sausage, 1 bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, tomato’s, beans and toast and I’ve got to say it was top quality food and made fresh. Fantastic little cafe. I will be returning to try the afternoon tea. Highly recommended! 👍

This place has been closed for a few years now due to the owner sadly passing away unexpectedly. She was a lovely lady and in the short time that she owned the place, she transformed it.

Absolutely fabulous food at very cheap prices. Proper homemade food, including homemade chips! Eaten here a couple of times and both times have been amazing
