Best halal indian takeout ordered sooo many times very welcoming, edit two years later and more than once if gagged on the meat tasting off, the beef was fatty and the chicken tikka starter was off

I have been having take away from here since it first opened. Unfortunately I have since moved a few miles away but it is still my go to take away in Norwich - if out for the evening or visiting friends in the area. Great to drop in or order for delivery. My friend recently moved to Hethersett and they deliver to him! Last night we ordered and my food was, quite simply, the best I have ever had. I always go for a vindaloo for restaurant comparison and this hit the sweet spot perfectly. Great taste, flavour, spice level just right. 100% returning - likely most months this year...

Our usual takeaway was over a 2 hour wait on NYE so with a few recommendations we called and ordered a deliver, was told 45 mins and we had it 40 mins later! The food was amazing, everything tasted so fresh! We will definitely be returning here next time 5⭐️

Food is always hot and fresh on deliveries. Always on time and sometimes even early. Great variety of food. Friendly delivery drivers too. Couldn’t ask for more

Rice n Spice is my go to Indian and Bangladeshi takeaway. Their deals are amazing value for money and the food is always hot, fresh and cooked to your taste. I often ask for extra fresh chilli or garlic and they are happy to oblige. I've been using these guys for 15yrs and will continue to do so!

Deeply delicious food and an excellent price. We've sampled the set menus, as well as the Baltis. The set menus give you a good selection, and in good quantity, which is of course very tasty. However, for me personally, I was blown away by how good the Baltis are. So tasty. Savoured every mouthful.

Ordered food from just eat. Within 17 minutes food was at my door. Eating a chicken korma to realize that there’s raw parts of chicken. I’ve called the restaurant to be dealt with very rudely and told it wouldn’t be raw. Also had missing items and incorrect items. Won’t be going here anymore and will be taking this further. Oh I’m also 6 months pregnant.

The same order on just eat from them including the missing curry was £35.34!!! Anyway the delivery driver turned up with the missing curry and wanted me to pay for it on the doorstep, I told him exactly what to do with that! Incensed by this I rang the restaurant and told them they would be losing a loyal customer and they really couldn’t of cared less! So take from that what you will…RIP OFF MERCHANTS…avoid at all costs…won’t be using them again!

Greedily went for set menu for 2 with chicken tikka starter, aloo gobi, pulao rice, naan, chicken tikka masala. The masala was lovely, the korai lamb main was a bit tough. Lots there and the rest lasted for lunch next day.

Food atrocious really cold when I complained got a lot of abuse . I speak some Punjabi they don't like white women on their own

Ordered today, chicken tikka biryani was tasteless and bland, butter chicken was sweet and the chicken tasted old, phoned to tell them to which the guy agreed that the butter chicken is supposed to be sweet and taste like a custard, never ordering again

I love this place. The food is excellent and really tasty and the workers are very friendly, too. I'm lucky enough to live nearby so I can collect and I can confirm that the food is sufficiently hot and always well cooked. When I think curry, I think this place. I always recommend to friends when they're over

Awful , sent tikka korma and tried to day it was a tikka masala, sent old soft stale poppadoms, korma x 2 was bland and tasted of nothing but coconut and texture was nothing but coconut gritty texture cold, onion bhajis was burnt and soggy from oil, samosa was cold and clearly frozen packet food, all food was luke warm barely practically cold, not even a onion salad added or any sauce for sides, basically had £45 50 stolen for food not fit to eat and no refund offered at all, apparently sorry is enough regardless of food being edible

Portions were generous for the price- with a few more bhajis and poppadoms than expected which was a nice surprise but the flavour was disappointing. Curry dishes lacked salt and much seasoning and the naan bread was overcooked and tough. My partner was unhappy with his biryani which was soggy and the accompanying vegetable curry looked as though it was made with a frozen veg mix with sweet corn and green beans- not impressed :(

Ordered with just eat. Quick service was hot. The chicken was pink :-( the sauce was nice but if you can’t cook chicken then you’ve got some serious issues.

the delivery was on time but the food wasnt hot. The lamb rogan josh was awful. It was in a bright red thick type of sauce. There wasnt any onion or tomatoes. The lamb had been added in pre cooked and was cold. The madras meat was unrecognisable. Terrible meal!

Ordered a takeaway for collection and when I got home I noticed a dish was missing, phoned the takeaway who apologised and sent a new dish out by the time we had finished our starter. Can’t fault that for service!

Had a chicken korma and had no probs before but I couldn’t eat it as it literally had no taste and was watery. The sag aloo had about 3 tiny bits of potato and it didn’t taste of anything. Wasted money but told they would replace next time. I don’t think I will order there again

Very good onion bajis. However, charging nearly £7 for a vegetable curry where the only vegetables are lumps of potato and a few peas AND charging another £3 for rice is definitely taking the peas... Ten quid for rice, peas and spuds is just a lazy rip-off, so unless they up their game and start giving better value for money, I and my guests will definitely avoid.

Some of the food is really nice, but the vegetables balti is really not good and the food in general is quite salty. If they use less oil and salt be a better experience.

Delicious food, piping hot on delivery. All meat was tender with no hint of grease in any dishes. brinjal bhaji was spectacular. All in all best Indian I've had in Norwich (and I've had a few...) a must go.

Tandoori king prawn masala and Mughlai lamb were delicious, king prawn butterfly was disappointing. Ordered via just eat, it arrived on time and was hot, they had money off plus I had discount code so it worked out a good deal.

I have ordered from here on/ off for many years. The quality of the food is acceptable not outstanding. The popadom portion for 70p was generous (3), sheekh kebab was huge: looked like two mince hamburgers: slightly over cooked we had to put them in the bin sadly. The chicken Bhuna was good quality, extra Naan bread given free- very generous. The lamb rogan was ok slightly tough meat not tender enough for my father’s taste. Saag Aloo was ok- huge portion. Lemon rice- very good- huge portion. Overall a 6/10, order from here if you are hungry- 10% discount on collection for nhs a plus!, I took home delivery on this occasion.

Over the last 5 years i have had about 100 curries from Rice & Spice and out of that I have had 1 that was below par. You will always get great value for money and the effort they put in to their food is always noticed on the taste buds. Great service and always friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Consistency in their dishes is very good. The only thing i would check or be careful with is their Naan breads as they can occasionally come out a little over done. Highly recommend the Naga or Jalfrezi for taste and quality.

Meal ordered from Just-Eat app at 8:30pm due to be delivered 10:05pm. At 10:40pm phoned to find out where order was was told it would be delivered in 30mins. 11:45pm still no delivery and no one answering the phone!!!

With a discount from Just Eat, this was a cheap eat. The prawn puree wasn't great, but the Mughlai lamb, the coconut rice, the prawn rogon josh were all very tasty. With a peshwari naan, the order was delivered for £22.76, which is good value.

Absolutely disgusting meal. Onion bhajis black and inedible. Chicken reheated and like rubber. Customer service appalling. Rang to complain the guy hung up will never order from here again. Even asked the guy to come and sample his food he refused of course.

Played safe with the Mughai lamb and lemon rice. The lamb was a little tough, the other dish was Garlic chicken tikka, this wasn’t one I’d recommend. Peshwari naan was nice however.

Had to take a naan back, second time in a couple of weeks, burnt to a crisp - no apology, a couple of poppadums would have been nice given I'd had to make two trips :(

Mi padre y yo pedimos la comida preparada para 2 - 2 x poppadoms con una ensalada de cebolla que estaban crujientes y no aceitosas. Los bhajis de cebolla eran perfectos con una salsa picante de tamarindo, ensalada y salsa de yogurt amarillo. El pollo tikka (4 piezas) era suculento y perfectamente condimentado.¡Tomamos un respiro ya que ahora estábamos bastante llenos!Había un plato de papa y coliflor que era bueno, el Naan era grande, buena textura de pan.El pollo tikka masala estaba bien pero demasiado suave para mis preferencias. El cordero bhuna al curry era muy bueno en términos de sabor y una buena consistencia de salsa. El arroz pilau estaba bien, en general: 10/10 por la relación calidad-precio y 8/10 por sabor y presentación como comida para llevar. He ordenado desde aquí encendido / apagado cuando visito Norwich por más de 30 años. Consistentemente bueno.

Hemos comido arroz y especias varias veces, ¡cualquier excusa para una ocasión especial! Lo amamos. Hay excelentes opciones para vegetarianos que esperaría de este tipo de comida para llevar. No hay una capa de aceite que cubra los alimentos que pueda obtener de otros lugares. Los sabores son deliciosos y complejos. El dhansak es mi favorito con un hermoso equilibrio de picante, dulce, agrio y aromático. Siempre pedimos por teléfono y recogemos a la persona ya que estamos cerca. Como tal, nunca hemos tenido problemas con pedidos incorrectos o alimentos fríos. Además, si hace un pedido por teléfono y habla con un miembro del personal, podrá verificar los requisitos dietéticos o pedir menos o más chile. En resumen, la comida es excelente y el personal es educado. Si Rice y Spice ofrecieran clases de cocina, ¡me inscribiría en un instante!

Really enjoy the Muglai from here, the prawn purée is ok, the naga is ok, medium spicy. Very generous rice portions.

Good takeaway. Authentic and good portion of meat. Not pricey especially with student /NHS discount. Quick to collect as well.

We had our first takeaway from Rice and Spice last night and it won’t be our last! We had aloo methi, gobi bhaji, a sambhar dal with puri and onion rice. The puri was crispy and fresh, the onion rice was delicious (not just some basmati with some onion thrown in here!), the other dishes were all spiced and balanced perfectly and I don’t think I’ve ever had a better takeaway!

Visitor to Norwich and found this takeaway near my hotel. Amazing food very flavoursome. I recommend it.

Glad to see these now charge you for delivery on the site instead of trying to charge at your door. The Mughlai chicken was excellent if you like sweeter curries, lamb tikka was nice and the lemon fried rice is something that has become a recent favourite.

Food is excellent.. many tastes and textures! Very fresh ingredients and prompt - I have never had any complaints with Rice and Spice!!!!

Decent clean food. They can accommodate your desired level of spice well. However portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but I guess I’m not used to that because I’m not a local. 4/5

Bastante pobre La comida llegó un poco tarde, se quemaron las cebollas Bhajes. El Korma era muy acuoso, el pollo Patia sabía a pollo cubierto con puré de tomate y el pan Naan estaba realmente empapado. He ordenado desde aquí en el pasado y ha estado bien, pero no creo que vuelva a preferir tanto a Lucky Tandoori o Gali.

This was the best chicken biryani I have ever tasted. I will definitely eat here again. Besides, the staff are very nice and friendly.

After placing a small and simple order (single korma, onion bhaji & single naan plus drink) at 19:20 my food arrived at 21:00. The naan was cold, the rest was lukewarm. Despite it undoubtedly not being the drivers fault, and feeling bad, I had to decline a tip for only the second time in my life because I already begrudged paying for it in the first place. If I wasn’t so hungry I would’ve sent it back. Unacceptable & won’t be using again.

Even though we live a 2 minute drive away the food was not hot and did not appear too fresh. Food is very average at best and I would not consider trying again unless it improves.

Such a waste of money. Don't order from this place. Normally I order from Malabar or Royal Bengal. Thought will try new place and it wasn't worth it. Quantity was less and forget about any quality.

that was the absolute worst butter chicken I have ever tasted. Had to throw it out and had 2 friends taste it and agree it was revolting. It tasted like a stick of butter on top of chicken.Not even good butter. The tikka masala was simply OK, but the food got real watery halfway through eating the masala, i think from the butter chicken as they were on the same plate. On the plus side my partner like the Daal, but when I tried it I bit into a hard lentil. Honestly so disappointed as this is my housemates favourite indian and its so highly reviewed on here but that was revolting and I regret wasting my money. Poppadoms were good.

Main curry (Jhall) really good but had more chilli compared to ginger than I was expecting. Onion bhajis not great but OK. Everything else as expected. Nice that it arrived in 35 minutes rather than an hour but this is a trend on just-eat and it'd be good if the anticipated times were more accurate!

I don't see why it's such a struggle for Indian restaurants/takeaways to get your rice right? For some reason we got boiled/steamed rice when we paid for a different one. According to my sister, her curry was very watery and had very little chicken. She said it was one of the worse chicken tikkas shes ever had and will not be ordering from here again. My curry on the other hand was very nice, which is obviously more important to me.

Ordered my food at 20:20, said it would be delivered at 21:25, didn't turn up till 21:55 and I only ordered food for myself so it was only a curry, rice and poppadom. The driver did apologise about being late. Food wasn't anything amazing I didn't think. It wasn't warm when it arrived. I have had better Indian Takeaways.

The delievery time was changed, and the food still arrived late. The food arrived and half of it had to be chucked. The chips were cold and soggy, there was barely any sauce to currys, the rice was clumped and overcooked. Would not recommend.
