Okay food, service slow considering restaurant was fairly quiet.

The service was terrible. As soon as we asked for some tap water for the table, they became cold to me and my partner. We had gone out for a date and this completely ruined our evening. Service was abrupt, slow, and disinterested in us. It took a long time for them to take our food order, and we considered leaving. Food was overall okay. I have had better Thai food at the same price. It was expensive but we wanted great Thai food, which is often worth the price. The portions were small, so really not worth the price. Overall, ruined a date night and had us feeling out of pocket.

Nice environment, nice food. Can be inexpensive or expensive depending on the choice of meals. It's much more expensive than usual 'englishfied,' chinese, but it's authentic, light, and more healthy.

Course was in great condition even with all the rain. We will be coming back in the summer!

Got a takeaway and have mixed feelings on this place. Pad Thai was really tasty, couldn't fault it. Green Thai curry felt a little underwhelming and extremely runny but it was fine (could have done without crinkle cut carrots that obviously came from a freezer bag but hey). Downsides were spring rolls and sticky rice that both tasted a little stale. Agree with other comments that you don't get good portion sizes for the price, either.

The house menu good but very high price

Been coming here for years with my husband, came with friends and family in the past also. Never fails to be 10/10. This has become our favourite restaurant overall hands down! Being a vegetarian I find eating out in restaurants can be very stressful but it's never been stressful in the slightest coming here. The food is always AMAZING. Love from two very loyal customers ❤️

I ordered delivery for Tom yum and Pad thai for around £23 and was quite disappointed about the food and portion we've got. Had a bit of expectation from the review but tried it myself.. probably not again :(

Visited as a group of 6 for our monthly book club meet. We booked for a Thursday, but didn’t need to. Other one other table occupied. Serve very quick (almost too quick in our opinion). The young lady knows her Thai food and was able to advise very well. We all ordered something different, starters and mains and all food arrived quick, hot and very flavoursome. Drinks are alittle overpriced but a good variety. The papaya salad is extremely hot and we were warned but went with it anyway’ Would have given 5 stars but there was no atmosphere at all. Some music in the background would have helped. Toilets very clean but up some stairs. Unsure if they have accessible loos.

Great thai food. Worth a visit for sure.

I came for my birthday, and from the experience I received.... I think it would be "it could have been better". As a student, I wanted to treat myself on my birthday, and I have never tried authentic Thai food before. There was also the fact that the reviews were good so I gave this place a try. I ordered a House Platter, in which some of the appetisers were bland compared to others, the ones that weren't were alright, the satay sauce that came with tasted like nothing. I didn't notice that the platter was a minimum of 2, in which a server unkindly never mentioned to me at all even though I was dining by myself, it was partially my fault, but it would have been nice to be alerted even if I was aware. A Pork Pad Thai, which, smelled very nice, but tasted bland and was very oily, and a Lychee Mock-tail, which was the only thing I enjoyed. The service was very mixed, I got a waitress who didn't really smile (maybe they had a bad day..?) and another one who was much more pleasant to talk with but still could have been better. The restaurant atmosphere was lovely, and the place smelled very nice. My accommodation also provided a 20% Student discount. The slip never mentioned that it was a cash only offer, only that T/C applies in tiny, tiny print, so I found out the hard way of actually dining here. If I knew I would've made sure to bring my purse! I don't really get the deal with this though, other places I've been to didn't have a condition like this when there is a student offer, but I guess this place is an exception. And so, I racked up a £33.80 bill just for the seemingly 3 items I ordered, very expensive, I also regret dining here on my birthday. All in all, I'm never coming back.

Seven of us meet every so often for dinner and catch up. We decided to give this restaurant a try having walked past it for years Good vibe as we walked in, very clean and most tables occupied which was a good sign. Well run by a Thai lady who obvious knew her business. The food was good however have had better Thai cuisine. The drinks were pricey. Will we go back? maybe

Ordered take a way. Very quick services. Lovely Asian restaurant in Norwich centre. Friendly member of staffs and good atmosphere. The food was excellent but with a little bit more oil. Overall fantastic, excellent experience!

Had lunch November 28th. Witnessed extreme rudeness to a deliveroo rider who came to collect an order. It appeared he had the audacity to enter the restaurant to advise of his arrival. He was immediately shown out (as if he was a lowly servant) and told that he was not to enter the restaurant again and that he wait on the step outside. It was very disrespectful and rude to a person trying to earn a living and deliver orders for this restaurant. He was spoken to as if he was a piece of dirt. I will never visit this restaurant ever again.

Usually love the house, I’ve been coming for years and would recommend it to my visiting friends. Unfortunately on this occasion, I was served raw chicken not once but twice and instead of actually making sure they could deliver a cooked appetiser, they just asked me to pick something else but continued to serve the likely raw dish (can’t be certain as I didn’t see inside other peoples chicken) to other customers which is an absolute health risk. There was no offer of even a complimentary drink for the fact I had been there for 50 minutes and been unable to eat anything due to receiving two raw portions of chicken (completely raw, not just pink but with the jelly like texture of raw chicken). Very disappointed at this time and unfortunately will be striking this off my list of food places to visit as on the background of the disastrous health rating they received previously, this has made me too cautious to risk a meal here.

I'm not a Norwich local but my in laws are. This restaurant has been the back drop of many happy dinners for us and the staff are always so accommodating. They decorated the table and surroundings (without prompting) on two Birthday occasions and are always happy to see us. We are a group of 10 and they serve us without stress in a timely fashion. The food is always fresh and tasty and we all leave satisfied. Make sure you try their mixed starters - the flavours and textures are sensational. This restaurant has a really great vibe, I couldn't recommend it more.

Wasn’t the best. The fish I ordered was decent however the meat I ordered was all raw and didn’t look like it had been cooked properly. Spent £120 but left with still an empty stomach as none of the food was really cooked properly. The only thing that was probably digestible was the rice. The decorations are great but can’t really say the same about the food

This is a lovely little gem of a place. We went at lunch time and there was a choice of lunch set meals which were all very good value for money, there was plenty of food for the 2 of us and the drinks were reasonably priced. We were served promptly and it was ‘service with a smile’. Will definately return

I was really disappointed to say the least. Initially walking in the lady that served us during the night was not welcoming and did not provide us with good service at all. She just seemed disinterested and seemed like she didn't have time for us. In terms of the food, I was very disappointed. Thai cuisine is one of my favourites, I've been to many good spots and had the pleasure of enjoying it while I was in Thailand as well. So, I know what good Thai food is meant to be like. For starters we ordered the crispy calamari, golden parcels, and prawn spring roll. The calamari was undercooked, soggy and nothing was crispy about it. The prawns in the spring roll weren't cleaned properly. The golden parcels were just meh. For mains we had crispy chilli beef with coconut milk rice and pad thai with jumbo prawns. The crispy beef was okay but too sweet for my liking, would've liked it more chilli not just drenched in sweet chilli sauce. The coconut milk rice was nice. The pad thai did not taste like pad thai, it was just sour. Not sweet sour and salty like it should be. £18/19 for a very small portion and two pieces of prawns?? That's a joke. The banana fritters dessert was the highlight, which ended the night on a high but at that point it didn't take much to do that. Overall, very disappointed and I don't understand how they have an rating above 4 to be very honest.

Food tasted amazing, had a Sweet & Sour chicken stir fry. Staff were very kind and welcoming, would recommend.

Friendly/ welcoming throughout our first visit. Extensive menu, food delivered quickly, well presented ,hot and very tasty. My only criticism, negativity and observation the overpriced drinks at over £8 for draught beer ! which seems rather excessive when dining in. Would recommend and possibly return but would suggest meeting up elsewhere for drinks first which is a shame really.

Looking at the majority of the other comments and recommendations from people, I think we were unlucky and caught them on an off night. The food was underwhelming and a bit pricey for the portion sizes. On par with the local Thai takeaway rather than other restaurants we've been to before. Drinks were good, and the Iced Thai Tea was especially good. The worst part of the meal was the poor service. Our server was friendly, but they were understaffed with only 2 servers. There were no courtesy checks etc. We ended up waiting 35 mins to receive and pay the bill, only to be told the card machine has not been working all day, they could have just told us whilst waiting and I would've popped over to a cash machine to save more waiting.

Delicious, friendly, welcoming and decent prices. Have been before and will DEFINITELY go again!!! Love it here so much x

Excellent food made me a very nice larb, the sticky rice and mango was also amazing.

We really enjoyed the meal and drinks! Very delicious and peaceful atmosphere.

While staying at the nearby Travelodge Central we thought we'd give The House a try, as we both like Thai food & are so glad we did!! After seeing a review on here we tried their prawn red curry, the prawns were truly gigantic and the sauce delicious - with a chicken pad Thai and a delicious bottle of rose we really did enjoy our evening - which was set off with lovely, friendly service. Highly recommend.

Great spot for some Thai food in Norwich. Came here for a birthday meal and the interior of the restaurant is lovely and authentic. The curries tasted fab and the portions were well sized but they could have been a bit bigger. The flavours were divine and there was a nice heat to the tofu panang curry as well as the others.

I had the sea bass. It didn’t taste fresh at all , the whole dish tasted like it had been a couple of days old. The fish tasted very off would not recommend getting fish from here

Pointed and ordered from the lunch menu for £8.95, after eating the bill then arrived for £12.95, I queried this to be told that I ordered from the dinner menu. I explained that I did not and that at no point did anyone explain or notify me that I was going to be charged more. I was then left with the bill until I asked again for it to be amended to the advertised price. At this point the lady (owner) became rude and said 'you should be thankful you had a bigger meal'. I explained that it was the principle, not the price and that it was dishonest. She then continued to be rude and ridicule me as I left the restaurant in front of other paying customers. A shame really as the food here is quite good but the level of disrespect and dishonesty was really unpleasant.

The food here was amazing. And the recommendations of the waitress was spot on. I enjoy spicy food and they made it extra spicy for me! They have lunch special as well.

The House is located at 2 Queens Rd, Norwich NR1 3PR. This is Thai food restaurant in which the seating area is comfortable. Plenty of food available to try. Pineapple fried rice is excellent, worth trying. Come here to enjoy a meal.

Friendly staff served Thai food of superb quality my daughter said the wine was also good quality, If I lived close by I would certainly go again.

came in to eat and just want to have a great time since I just got back from a work trip. Ordered food, the usual one but this time a little extra since Im hungry. The waitress treated us like invisible and felt double standard as they were no table check on us where the next table has been check at least 4 times. Please learn your common courtesy and customer service! Dont be judgmental and treat customers differently. We are all paying the same pound sterling! Also check your bill as the price on the menu and the bill are different. I do not wish to pay gratuity but it was automatically added in the service. I really dont mind paying but at this place, it was unpleasant customer service.

Excellent tasty food and excellent service at The House. Best Thai food in Norwich. Panang curry is delicious. Of particular note is the steamed Sea Bass in lemon, lime and chilli. Highly recommended will definitely visit again.

Called in last night for a meal . All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and all seem to be very cheerful . Myself and my wife opted for a chicken satay and spring rolls starters . You get 4 of each and we’re very nice . For main I had the chicken Penang and my wife had the chicken in chilli oil . Both good portions and taste absolute beautiful . Both dishes were so flavoursome . Our sides were egg rice noodles and egg rice ., again good size portions . All washed down with 2 pints of singha and coke for my wife . Total cost was £72 which I thought was good value considering the excellent standard of the food. The restaurant is nice and the staff are brilliant . This is some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time and when we are in the city again , we will definitely be back !!

Food was just okayish. If you expect some courtesy from the restraint staff you better avoid this place.

Food is alright but staffs are pretty rude. I work quite close to this place so I decided to come get a quick lunch. I was checking if the lunch deal could do takeaway so I could order a few to bring back to office sharing with colleagues. They said the deal only available to eat in. It's also fine for me so I took a seat. Staffs seemed annoyed when you ask them questions(just asked about toilet) I have to rush back to office but I haven't finished my food yet so I asked for take-away box. The take-away box costs 1pound btw. It's fine for me to pay that I just don't wanna waste my food. However, staffs started making weird face to each other and laughing joking in their language when I asked for takeaway box. Sounds like they thought I pretending to eat in just to get their cheap deal then ask for takeaway box. I actually ate half already just didn't expect I have to rush back to office all in sudden.

There is Thai food and authentic Thai food, the food here was amazing, the service too was good considering how busy they were. Initially the waitress said the service would be delayed slightly due the influx of people who had come in at the same time, but that was not the case. Of note was the amount of Thai people in here, in my opinion says a great deal about the the authenticity. In the city centre near the Bus station and a few steps away from a well stocked Asian supermarket.Highly recommended.

Amazingly good flavours and the freshest seafood - highly recommend

We had a very disappointing delivery from the House. The curry and the Pat Thai tasted nothing like we remembered. The potatoes in the curry had a strange texture like thawed potatoes. The egg fried rice looked like normal rice with egg pieces. Portion sizes were very small.

Food was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant had a nice peaceful atmosphere.

This is the best Thai we visited in a long time. We have eaten here on two occasions recently. Both time it has been exceptional. The food is fresh, meat is succulent and well cooked. Flavour is balanced and each dish has seemed really authentic. The staff are kind, friendly and welcoming. We really can’t fault it and will definitely be returning.

Love this place. Food is consistently great and their service is wonderful. Would recommend their green or red curry.

We visited here as an anniversary treat. The staff are all lovely and very attentive, with great knowledge as to what is gluten free and what is not, being coeliac can cause issues but I had no issues whatsoever. The food is absolutely amazing. Hot, plentiful and very well presented. The restaurant is spotlessly clean with a lovely atmosphere to it. This is the second time we have eaten here as we are not from the area. We will definitely go back next time we are visiting the city.

Delicious Thai cuisine x fab service and a decent price too

Bad customer service. My mum ordered a dry blush wine. It came out as a sweet Rose. Was told this was the only one available. If you do not have a blush then it should not be on the menu. They refused to change it to an alternative without charging. Rude appalling behaviour. The tip they would have received way exceeded the cost of changing a glass of wine. Also worth mentioning only half our sirloin beef dish was edible due to a large amount of gristle. Didn’t even bother mentioning this as customer satisfaction is clearly not their forte.

Food was nice but be aware of high prices. £4.50 for a half of draught lager. Asked for soya sauce. A spoonful arrived in small dish that was charged at 99p on the bill. Starters were small and not really worth bothering with. However main courses and service very nice.

Nice place to have lunch Food is good apart from 1 thing that the soup base is over flavour with too much salt. Prices are OK. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Always great food. Our favourite eating place. New menu although many of the same dishes. Great quality food still, the lunch time menu is now £10.50. Close to St Stephens roundabout and underneath a multistorey car park.

The House is hands down my favourite restaurant in the whole of Norwich. The staff are friendly and kind. The food is delicious. The drunken noodles are so good that I've never ordered anything else, but the people I've gone with always say their meals are great too. The meals are really well priced considering I always have leftovers to take home.

Went here for the first time, and really enjoyed it, lots of choice on the menu and the food was very tasty. I did find the calamari a little bland and maybe a bit of seasoning would have but I am nit picking. All in all worth it! The staff were very attentive and friendly. Will be coming back the next time I am in Norwich.

Really nice Thai restaurant, though they have very limited vegetarian/vegan options. A bit expensive, price definitely doesn’t justify the portion size. However, the food is absolutely delicious, wish they were a bit more accommodating with the requests of changes the customer ask for and staff could try to smile a bit more.
