I had the holy basil stir fry with crispy pork and I enjoyed it. I have to say though that it would have been even better with more basil. They did bring out fish sauce with chillies, which is a good sign you're getting an authentic dish. The lunch specials menu has got a few dishes that are not so typical of Thai restaurants in the area, for example: sukiyaki stir fry, tom yum noodle soup, and pork leg stew. Could be worth a try if you like Thai food but want something different.

I was on holiday in Norwich and found this restaurant for lunch. I had Tom Yum soup with seafood which was so good. Then on the last day of my holidays, I went again with my parents in law for dinner. We really enjoyed the food, having starter and main menus. The food was so great and ladies served us were kind and sweet. Weeping tiger, spare ribs, Tom kha, etc. everything was perfect!!

We go to this place for lunch regularly. The food is pretty authentic and always so very tasty. The staff are always friendly. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering some of the best Thai food we've ever tasted—and we've sampled a lot! The meal started with the Tom Kha soup, which was an absolute delight—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, we had the prawn green curry, accompanied by two portions of steamed rice, and it did not disappoint. The curry was fragrant, with just the right amount of spice, and the prawns were cooked to perfection. We finished with the mango sticky rice, which was a wonderful end to a fantastic meal, sweet and satisfying. Before visiting, we had seen reviews mentioning a rude older lady, which initially made me apprehensive. However, to our pleasant surprise, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout our visit, ensuring we were well taken care of. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience that exceeded our expectations!!! The prices are reasonable (we spent around £40).

We have been going to this restaurant for about 10 years, we don't go often probably about 8 times in the 10 years, the food has always been lovely quality and the price OK considering it's in the middle of Norwich city but we went there a couple of weeks ago, both had a starter, then one main and a side plus 2 beers and a lemonade. The food was still very nice but we thought the bill would come to about £60 as normal and were a bit shocked when it came to £76 so we looked and we had been charged 10% service charge, now it may have always been like that but we don't think so, plus there was a young lad serving us rather than the mature ladies. We were not informed about the service charge before and only noticed it after we had paid because the bill came at the same time as the credit card machine.

Been wanting to try Mango-T and glad we went! The food was really good and the staff were great. The food came our relatively fast. They have a big menu and there's a lot to choose from. We definitely want to try more of their food so we are going back for sure.

My wife had seen this restaurant on her phone feeds, with good reviews, and suggested we try it as we were going to Norwich on my birthday. On arrival, after 5pm, a table was found for us by moving other tables, even without a reservation. Unlike other Thai restaurants, the décor is simple, more like a cafe, but the sign at the front promises authentic Thai cuisine. The service was quick, friendly and efficient, the food as good as any I've had on my business trips to Thailand. A bonus was the Chang beer on a 3 for 2 offer, a brand I've not come across before and complimented the food as well or better than the usual Singha (our waiter says he prefers Chang in Thailand. In summary, a delicious meal at reasonable prices, though the excellent shared starter assortment were not needed as the portion sizes are good. My beef dish was rated at 2 chillies, hot, and was just right for me. We hope to return for the lunch menu before too long, and have recommended Mango to friends already.

First visit today and will not be the last. Excellent food, service and extremely good value for money. Thank you all, for a lovely lunch.

All of the food that we had were super affordable and tasty! The waitress that we had was friendly. The restaurant looked cosy. The pork skewers were delicious, definitely my favourite starter. The restaurant does automatically add a 10% service charge at the end of your bill.

I ordered a take away for vegetarian Thai curry as I had one in London I was quite impressed by this dish. It was not good at all. The london place near tower bridge served the same dish in low price with more quantity and quality. Very disappointed.

The food was good, but there were some hygiene issues that need to be addressed. my experience was marred by finding a hair in my noodles. It was clearly not mine due to the different color, which was quite off-putting. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, there was no apology. Instead, I was offered a discount or a replacement dish. I was shocked by this response. If I had known there was a hair in the food, I would not have eaten it at all. This incident made me question the overall hygiene standards of the restaurant. I asked for a full refund, but the waiter initially refused. This experience left me with a lack of trust in the restaurant's cleanliness and customer service.

Looked lovely with plants and nice fountains was given complimentary mangoes And food was cheap was toys for kids and waiters were really nice

Great aithentoc Thai food. Seevice was quick and the food was tasty. Chicken Pad siew was filling and full of flavour. Also had pad Khing as it was my favourute wlfrom whwn i lived in Thailand. Was like being back down Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok. Prices suprisingly low for UK Thai food. Highly recomended

This is authentic Thai food! Skip giggling squid and come here. I got the papaya salad and a noodle soup (#24) with duck which I highly highly suggest. The soup was savory and comforting but still light. The papaya salad was 10/10. I got spiciness level 2 which I would suggest if you love spicy but you can’t handle extreme spice. My food came out fast and they staff was helpful! I will be returning soon!

Small and friendly with good food at a reasonable price served by a friendly and efficient waitress. Among the customers were 2 Thai ladies, which is an excellent sign of quality and authenticity.

Service was friendly. It is a small restaurant with a garden too. I visited on a quiet night. Some of the dishes labelled with gluten free and others with a star so they can be made gluten free on request. The food was tasty and reasonably priced.

Was very busy (a good sign) managed to get a table as someone leaving as arrived. We ordered several dishes to share and although I would not necessarilly say it was like previous Thai food experience it was more like a Thai, Chinese cross, but it was very tasty and definately going back at some point. Also a good sign, most people inside appeared to be from around Asia

The typical Pad Thai i've tried were all quite dry but the one from Mango-T was wet and "saucy" which suited my taste cuz i don't like it too dry. I ordered the chicken one but it'd be great if we could mix the meat up e.g. chicken + prawns etc... The Thai Milk Tea wasn't bad but I found it a bit sweet and I couldn't really taste the tea :( The decoration and design are quite simple and it's a cozy place to dine in! Service are all good too 👍🏻 Overall it's worth the price, another restaurant to visit again!

I don’t recognise the bad reviews regarding either the quality of the food or the extra charge for rice. Yes there is a 10% service charge but the service was good and would have warranted a tip.

The food is quite good / standard Thai food, nice restaurant, but somehow the price was not correct when I paid. I ordered pad thai with tofu which said 8.95£ on the menu, but I ended up paying 11.95 plus 1.20, so over 13£ for veggie noodles. Either update menu or charge the correct price …

Food was acceptable but when they added a surprise £4 for rice and 10% service charge, neither mentioned in the menu it became an expensive and disappointing experience.

I had wanted to visit here after seeing their delightful hidden garden out the back. Unfortunately what should have been a balmy summer's night was 15 degrees and rain so we sat indoors instead. A Thurs evening, just one other table in, we were obviously spoilt. The restaurant is a no frills experience. The table was bare when we sat down. I'm ashamed to say I am a real creature of habit when I go to a Thai and ordered the Beef Kra Pao and can honestly say it was up there with the best I've ever had. Authentic food, pleasant service with a very reasonable price tag. This has more of a cafe feel than a restaurant but that's what makes it feel authentic I guess!

Beware! Rice is 4£, not mentioned in the menu. Rice 4£, are you kidding. On top of that a 10% service charge. Scammers.

£3.95 for boiled rice, on top of £13.95 for a poor (dry chicken & potato)chicken masaman. Perhaps the worst value for money I've ever experienced. Then a hidden 10 service charge....

The boss is very nice, and the atmosphere inside feels like home, but the food is a bit too salty, and the drinks are smaller. I still recommend everyone to try it!

Glad to have found this small spot while wandering Norwich. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely fantastic - the grilled pork skewers in particular. Will definitely come back here if I ever find myself in this part of the world again.

Mango-T is located at 8 Orford Hill, Norwich NR1 3QD. Pork with fried rice is too sweet and the rice is not cooking well. Thai milk tea is super sweet without taste of tea smell. Friends recommend to try but quite disappointed after tasting. Off street parking is found in front of the restaurant.

I asked for a Penang curry but said I didn’t want it too spicy. The waitress said the curry was mild. In fact, it was very spicy for me, but I managed to eat the king prawns and the rice. When I told the waitress about the spiciness, an older lady, perhaps the manager or owner, who was sat in front of us and had taken our original order, laughed. A good Thai restaurant will always adjust the spiciness when asked. I won’t be back. There are plenty of other Thai restaurants where I feel welcome in the area.

The Mango-t is a lovely little restaurant in the city centre and well worth a visit. We were looking for a restaurant o dine for lunch, and we were so pleased to find this gem of a place. The food is nicely cooked and presented. Authentic Thai cuisine served by welcoming and friendly staff. Highly recommended and we will certainly visit again when in Norwich.

Pleasant and tasty Asian food - not all Thai. The surroundings are a bit cafe-ish but the food is worth it. We had a really nice meal.

Feels more homely than just a restaurant and pretty authentic. Heat levels toned down is the only shame, I could not even tell there's chilli in the dishes that were marked as "hot" Service is good. Be nice if they would add a non Asian beer to the menu.

First time dining here with a friend. We really enjoyed it. Small place what we like. Very authentic, friendly staff and the food was delicious! We will be back and also try a takeaway soon.

This is by far the most authentic Thai restaurant in Norwich. This was underlined by the number of Thai people in the restaurant every time we have been there. The lunch menu is particularly fantastic value for money. Staff so friendly and helpful.

Went there for brunch for the first time, ordered Pad Thai with chicken. Tender meat, good vegetable-meat-noodle balance, delicate taste, quite sweet, but I've had better before. There's a lovely garden in the back of the restaurant to eat in.

Late lunch, cheap stir fry meat-tofu with rice/noodles lunch menu. Hot basil, chilli oil chicken stir fry not too hot for me despite being at their '3 chilli rating' which was nice. Three spring onions which are good. Quiet for a late lunch around 3-5pm.

We got a 1st Birthday party invitation here. The owner is very friendly and professional staff. Good service! Fine food. Definitely come back!

Bad experience. The waitress I assumed she was the boss, the woman was so rude to us and horrible. The other waitress (young one) was nice but the woman was awful. The most horrible service I ever had in Norwich. The food was not that good, it was probably okay for people not used of Thai food. I will never come back there, awful boss.

The food was ok. A bit disappointed as the mussels weren’t fresh and had a weird taste. I just hope I won’t be ill. The service wasn’t very friendly and I definitely won’t buy wine by glass as I won’t trust what Ill be drinking. I won’t go back

The best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. Lovely friendly staff, speedy service and great value for money. We happened upon Mango-T after deciding we didn’t want to queue for Wagamama and I’m so glad we did! Will definitely be back.

Have visited this restaurant 3 x times in the last few months for lunch. It's very good value for money and the food extremely good. I've eaten a lot of Thai food in my time, both in UK and Thailand itself. This is by far the most authentic I have found in Norwich. it's always busy which speaks for itself.

Visited this restaurant for the first time at the weekend with friends, on the recommendation of 1 who is a regular. Food was sensational and very reasonably priced. Extremely friendly staff. My only slight criticism is that the lady who took our order and bought out food etc. didn't really understand the concept of waiting until everyone had finished eating before clearing plates. That said it will definitely not deter me from returning. Excellent lunch had by all.
