Not as good as it used to be. Cash only (as it is) isn't a particularly big deal but the food wasn't that great and we found, when home, that our order wasn't actually correct. There are better in Harpenden.

This is a top class take away. I have been using it for years and the new website makes ordering easy. Great king prawn madras.

Our go to Indian! Tried a lot of the dishes now, we love their food! More importantly they have been consistently good and drivers are always lovely and friendly. A++++

My go to take away Indian in harpenden. Staff are very friendly. ask for there recommendations on dishes to try something different. Food is always delicious, when delivered is always hot. Has so much to choose from on the menu. 5 stars!

The Food here is top notch. Not only the best Indian in harpenden and surrounding areas, but the best Indian I’ve ever had. Every dish is super fresh and very tasty. We always over order and are left with so much food, which tastes just as good the next day. We have been ordering from here for 2 years and I’ve still never had a fault with it.

Have been using rice and spice for about 2 years, consistently delicious food, reasonable prices and lovely delivery people, they're also very nice when you collect! Sad we can't do Monday Madness anymore due to work because it's a great deal!

Very expensive and to be honest not much for the money. Vegetarian dish was full of mainly diced carrots and for a korma had no real coconut cream flavour. The lentil Tarka Dahl had no visible lentils in it at all, was a bit like soup and none the dishes were that warm. The Only elements that there were decent were the garlic Naan bread and plain rice (the cheapest parts).

Monday Madness deal is excellent, 2 curries and 2 rice for £10. I upped the vibe by adding veg baji' and prawn puri. A lot of food. Been an intermittent regular here for 2.5 yrs, always decent quality and good sized portions.

Ordered from this place this evening, food was cold when it arrived, taste was poor, rude delivery man. Easy to order online and can pay cash and card. The onion bhaji’s however were lovely. The best part of the order was the coke cola to wash the taste away. Wouldn’t order from here again.

I ordered food which turned up lukewarm and soggy. Clearly had been in plastic bags too long and had sweated itself out. Starters were ok, when I went for my main found it was missing. Tried eating the other part but it wasn’t edible as it was way too spicy despite ordering it mild - I can handle hot food but this was over the top spicy. Won’t be ordering again.

Love this place! The food is consistently great and the staff are very friendly. We've been using them now for a couple of years and don't go anywhere else!

Food arrived 25 minutes early. Food was tasty, however there was 2 bits of chicken in my Lamb Tikka Massala! Portions slightly smaller than our usual indian take away but was nice, we would order again!

About 7th time ordered now and never had a problem. Food always hot and always delicious.

Sauce tasted great and rice cooked brilliantly but the chicken was cooler than expected and was rubbery, the garlic nann was undercooked and doughy with hardly any garlic on it, not as impressed as previous owners! Will order again as I believe in second chances however if another order is like this one then I won't be ordering a third time. Fingers crossed they take heed on these reviews

absolutely terrible, don't run a takeaway business if you can't manage an ordering system, utter chaos!! ordered via just eat, delivery was an hour, called to say id collect it as it's quicker and was still standing in the shop 20 mins after it was due to be delivered! food was bland as anything ! don't waste your time or your money. I should have gone to spice rack!!!

Desde aquí pedimos una comida para llevar (Keema Seekh kebab, arroz, Paneer, Samosas, y unas patatas fritas). Toda la comida era sosa y carece de sal. Las patatas fritas eran tan poco hecha, casi crujiente en el medio. Las samosas apenas teníamos abundante en ellos, era principalmente repostería y algunas patatas. No pide de nuevo.

Was due to arrive 21:05 and came 15/20 minutes early, which was very happy about. Food tastes nice, would be better if there for more for the price paid.

Good service not too long to wait. New owners but same chef and backroom staff Will use again soon. Probably become regulars based on this experience.

A very good menu and quick service. There is comfortable seating to relax while waiting as well.

First order since the change in management. Food very good, lots of choice on the menu but it took 1.5 hours to be delivered! And that was with some prompting and over half an hour after adjusted JustEat delivery time. Will probably give it another go, hopefully just teething problems.

Really displeased with this order. I have ordered from Rice and Spice plenty of times and always really enjoyed it. So many times have I ordered, and I've never been remotely disappointed. I saw that it was under new management, and thought I would give it a go, but was extremely disappointed. It took so much longer than suggested to arrive, and upon opening, it was barely lukewarm. There was a missing rice, and sauce. On top of this, the food generally, was not as good as usual. Very disappointed, and not too sure if I will be ordering from here again if the new management results in this kind of poor food and service. Very frustrating to go from an amazing takeaway to sheer disappointment.

Food was delivered within good time but had items from order missing. Lamb wasn't tender and was full of gristle. Sorry guys I want to continue enjoying rice and spice but you're not yet up to how it was. Shame the ownership changed.

The Jalfrezi was perfect just as ordere. The madras tasted great but was so spicy I couldn't finish it & I usually order vindaloo! We will definitely order again but perhaps less spicy dishes.

We used this takeaway for the first time last week. The service was very good being polite, friendly and helpful. We went for the chicken biriyani. I though it excellent but my partner thought it was slightly under spiced. We have different options on this - I prefer light spicing to enhance the flavour whilst she prefers it heavier. They also included pomadoms at no extra charge. Recommended...

Had food from here three times now, in fact I come all the way from Dunstable to eat from here but my wife insists on using this takeaway. really helpful friendly staff - I asked for variations in some of the dishes and they were happy to oblige. Delicious food, just a shame they don't deliver as far as Dunstable
