Food was largely good. There were missing items from our order (just sauces etc - nothing major but still). And it was half an hour late.

One of the best Prawn Madras and egg rice that I have had in a long time. Will definitely order again.

Order chicken korma and rice( amazing lots of chicken) but then I also ordered onion bhaji and sorry it was mostly batter mix inside( sorry) missed the onion in it

Absolutely lovely, really impressed by the unusual flavour of the Xacuti chicken and quality of the meal in general. Food was on time and hot, delivery driver was friendly. Will definitely be ordering from here again! 5 star all day.

Food was delivered earlier than expected which is great. However, the food was very runny and oily and we also did not receive the popadoms we ordered and paid for. Overall very disappointed.

I ordered from this restaurant, and they didn't even even deliver my order and marked the order as delivered. Very poor service from the team. I will never order from this place again.

Food didn't taste nice, not the same usual quality

The curry was delicious, saag paneer was lovely. The onion bahjis were decent and had some flavour, most curry houses onion bahjis around here are bland. The samosas could've been a bit crispier, but overall a decent, well flavoured curry, and a great offer too!

The CHICKEN PIECES in the butter chicken curry were overcooked and DRY and STRINGY. and the CHIPS were so DRY like they been left to dry over night.. you couldn't tell that they were fried in oil, as they were so DRY like CARDBOARD. and definitely weren't freshly cooked, as they were shrivelled UP. the oinon barges wasn't fresh neither, as they were dry and Very CHEWY... THE ONLY thing I liked, was the SAUCE ON the curry. shame the chicken in the curry was dry though.. never again....

Absolutely disgusting food! Stank of sweaty socks, but thought would be ok. Rice was hard, naan was hard, the chaat and Bombay was so vile I was literally throwing up all night. Never using this place again!

Quite late and not that warm but nice delivery driver and food tasted quite nice

I had the watery butter chicken. The curry had a bit of flavour. If I had to give out of 10, it would be a 5.5. However, my daughter's chicken masala tikka was so watery & looked like the curry had been made with gravy granules. It wasn't nothing like chicken masala tikka!! She left the whole curry. We certainly won't order from there again. When you consider what they charge?

I am never disappointed with rice and spice. always warm and tasty curry, Rogan, bhuna, onion baji and more .. Love it. Keep making the food nice!

First time we’ve ordered from here, food was excellent, delivered on time and plenty warm enough with good sized portions. The Madras had the perfect spice level and tasted superb. We’ll definitely use Rice n Spice again.

First time using (eat out), order placed before opening time for a 5.30 delivery where you’d expect a few opening time problems. Food was worth the wait, we’d gone off piste from our usual hot n spicey order to a cooler meal for guests and was pleasantly surprised. Shashlik, tikka massala, etc were all very nice.

Very nice food but maybe potions of fries could be more for the price they're sold.

Without question, THE Best Indian in Essex, let alone Colchester. We LOVE the special & recommended dishes, and have yet to be disappointed. Would highly recommend ❤️

The lamb in lamb tikka was like leather couldn’t eat it .

As usual we ordered Onion Bhaji, however this time this food which has no heat had a spiced heat about it. It was manageable but unexpected. Other than this the food was good.

Like trying something new the Gurkali Chicken Tikka was really good I would but this again!

Gutted because it's usually very nice. Mixed Grill had no prawns. King Prawn Biryani had 6 prawns! Cashew and saffron rice was not as described, too sweet. Delivery was 20mins late

The food was truly amazing. I have spent time in India and I know how good traditional food should taste. I ordered from here for the first time last night and we were all very pleasantly surprised. So glad to have discovered this little gem of a takeaway!

So many onions spoilt the curry, when I have pathia it is mostly tomato based

Wanted to try here as the reviews seemed quite good. However, food arrived cold, the bigger potatoes in the sag aloo were hard, the chicken pathia was nice enough to eat but probably the least nicest one I've had. The sag aloo wasn't to my taste it tasted of some type of dry spice/seasoning. Rice was alright and nann was lovely. The delivery driver was really friendly. Don't think I'd get from here again sorry, I'll stick to my local Indian in future.

Consistently good takeaway food. The wide variety of paneer curries are an excellent choice for vegetarians.

Order was delivered originally on time, but one of the mains was the wrong order, which resulted in a phone call and a further 20-30min wait by this time the other items were no longer hot. Food was average tasting, but you got a large amount for your money. A little bit of a disappointment, but happy with the restaurant arranging for the correct order to be delivered back so easily.

Food was late and almost cold when arrived. The tandoori mixed grill came without any prawns. So disappointed. No one is willing to solve any issues!!

I received the wrong food and when trying to contact them to get it taken back, the phone number wasn't working! So I was stuck with lots of meat food as a vegetarian that I couldn't eat and it means someone else received my order.

In general, the food here is absolutely delicious — always hot and so aromatic. I usually eat here once a month and generally go take out but it’s always been a great experience. Unfortunately there was an entire section offering each of the mains with jackfruit or vegan meat alternatives and now there’s no other alternatives for vegans aside from generic vegetables in curry which not a lot of us enjoy. The paneer was great for vegetarians though. Hope they bring it back as I loved eating here before they removed the options.

The quality seems to be going down hill. It's been our favourite curry house for a good number of years...but the quality of the food is going down hill. The lamb seems to be of low quality and the curry is watery and not full of flavour. Something has changed and not a good chance.

The kebab roll was hard and uneatable.

Honestly not worth the money. Everything tasted like they poured heap amount of sugar in it. Way too sweet for a savoury dish. Naan was cold and dry. Really disappointed.

Awful service, food never turned up but was told apparently the driver just left it outside my front door, which never happened. No refund from the restraunt and no food. Do not order from here !

Food hasn't arrived yet and I called up the restaurant and the guy said 5 mins and it will be there another 10mins past still no food why cant we ring the just eat drivers to ask where and how long are they gonna be like it's not hard to do that

Sagaloo was nice but rest of meal horrible.

Item missing from order. Have the impression they couldn’t be bothered to do it so just put some onion bajis in instead. Tried to ring but no answer.

Ordered 2 curries, 2 sides of rice and a naan bread. Curry’s were good so was rice. Naan bread wasn’t great at all, apart from that was really nice!

I didn’t get the popadoms that I paid for. I have tried to call a few times but no answer. Also the delivery driver went to the wrong road so the meal was a little colder than expected.

Ordered both chicken and lamb vindaloo but only received the lamb vindaloo. The chicken was completely different - some random mild curry - with no heat which is what I ordered it for. The special rice with spice which includes prawns had no prawns and… it could have been good were we not given the wrong food. The lamb vindaloo was good nonetheless.

Food was out for delivery for 45 minutes total. So way over the time slot. Food was basically cold when it arrived.

quite expensive for the size of the mains, the HOME MADE CHIP thing is just frozen chips in a home made sauce. All good though! would use again.

First time I've had an Indian takeaway in a while, I was not disappointed! Particularly loved the garlic chicken tikka , everything was on point 🫶

Over 2 hours to arrive, arrived luke-warm. Contacted was made with the restaurant, a £3 refund was made on a £50 order, which I find a little insulting. I have been a repeat customer but unfortunately I won’t be from here onwards. Very disappointed!

Awful! Food was cold, very oily / greasy, curry had no flavour. Not too bothered it was a little late but food was vile. It’s clearly 30% off because people aren’t ordering!

Food was lovely was one missing item this first time they have missed anything will still always order from them

Qorma was sweet and didn’t taste good Biryani was bald as well
