What main food did arrive was tasty. But, we ordered a total of 4 starters, 3 Naan and 7 poppadoms to go with our meals and only received a half full container of mint sauce so it was all very dry, with the currys having pretty much no sauce either. When we have ordered from other Indians in the area we have received a mint sauce or similar per starter and normally an extra 1 for poppadoms. Probably won't order from here again for thst reason only.

Absolutely banging! Everything was well cooked and flavourful. Meat on the mixed grill was perfect. Also, where other places are getting expensive, this place is still priced fairly. Deffo ordering again.

Quick serving and reasonably price. The lamb vindaloo is really good, you can taste the spices and the heat immediately. If only they put more lamb in the dish, it will be much better

I ordered food from this restaurant for my family to celebrate my brother's birthday. I have to say, I've had much better. The onion bhaji was very dry, the samosa was tiny and the worse thing about the order was that my wife dish. She ordered a Lamb Rogan Josh which barely had any lamb in it at all. This place is not cheap therefore you expect quality and decent quantity. My wife's dish was sauce and more sauce. Really disappointing and won't be going back there. When I went to collect, I asked for a receipt and the young boy said they couldn't give me a receipt!!! Poor service!

My son and I both had fabulous takeaways from paradise masala on 29 January. The food was excellent and exactly as ordered. Our experience was great from placing our order to delivery. Would highly recommend.

We ordered a meal for 3 to be delivered. It arrived promptly. We shared Poppadoms and chose Chicken Biriyani, Lamb Phall, Prawn Green Coriander Masala and Chicken Korma. All were good. My son is a regular here.

I quite enjoyed my chicken balti and peshwari man bread, just the right amount of heat for me and delivered in s time and safe fashion. Would recommend and I will return.

I ordered a take away from here. I have food allergies and intolerances and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There thoughtfulness in the preparation of my meal was second to none. I can highly recommend Paradise Masala and I will definitely be ordering from them again. 10/10 in all areas.

Avoid at all costs , tookOur money then decided to cancel order an hour later , just before they closed , now got to wait 3-5 days for a refund Absolutely shocking behaviour Will go out my way to make sure people know about this

Food was bad but dips were free

This place has been a fantastic takeaway for me for years but tonight had a bad tasting dhansak. Phoned up and asked for replacement but informed I was wrong and would have to pay for another meal. Tried to argue that I really felt the meal tasted bad and smelled odd, it wasn't right, but the lady on the phone wasn't having any of it, so put the phone down. They called back and after continuing to tell me i was wrong, eventually said they'd replace my meal as I was a regular customer. Really not happy with the poor response to a valid complaint.

A year or so ago and even at the beginning of the year I loved this place it could do no wrong. Bit pricey compared to others but the food has been excellent, so I was happy. It made a nice change from the way most Takeaways have gone with clearly bulk bought processed rubbish, they try to sell us as home made .Now whether this is down to 2020 lockdown or other issues I cannot say but about 2 months back I ordered and it was OK but not on a par. But knowing how good it has been I go back, thinking it’s just a glitch. Well this weekends meal was awful. Absolute slop. Not the flavour ,texture or ingredients of the curry I ordered. The dish lacked any resemblance to what I expected, a Patak jar would have been better , the vegetable side was just inedible slop. The papadom was stale. Nothing was good about the meal . Either it’s a chef change or too busy , too rushed to produce good curry. But I’m done. Won’t be going back unless I start reading genuinely good reviews again. Yes ,I should have taken the whole meal back but wasn’t worth the journey or the hassle..Buyer beware

The food was good, but unfortunately only part of our order turned up 90 minutes after the order was placed, when I called asking where the rest was their reply was very unprofessional ‘we’re too busy to deliver the rest of your order’!

Paradise Masala used to be my go to for the best Indian takeaway in Colchester... not anymore!I tend to go for much the same each time... Chicken tikka, sag alloo, pilau rice etc... this time it was so different in quality and taste that it must surely be under new ownership... terrible doesnt describe it!All I can say was almost the same as before was the sag alloo... but how can you ruin potato?The chicken tikka was the worst... before it was recognisable chunks of chicken... now cuts from an obviously processed reconstituted chicken in sausage form and very rubbery!!NEVER going to order from here again!!Avoid... avoid... avoid...!!!

What can I say.. Amazing. I was bought up on curry and this has to be one of the best I have ever had. Chicken was perfectly cooked. Fast delivery and such big perfect flavours. 100% would order again.

Wow.. Wow.. Wow.. What an experience.. I was bought up on curry and I can say that this is probably one of the best currys I have had for a long time. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was thick and rich. My only criticism is that the onion bhaji was in 2 large bhajis instead of smaller portions to share.. Excellent fast delivery and food was hot. My new favourite curry house in Colchester.

Unfortunately Paradise masala went very downhill for us. We used this takeaway frequently for over a year, unfortunately they let their standard slip. Firstly my card was charged twice for the same order and was very difficult trying to get money back from them. In the end as I was unable to get my money back we had to use them again just which seemed wrong in the grand scheme of things when it’s my money and they charged my card twice. That time we had thought we wouldn’t go back as it just wasn’t as good quality and things were often ‘forgotten’ and stillCharged for. The last straw we ordered a meal on our credit and they didn’t bring our onion bhajees we were charged for. I called up and asked whether we could get them delivered tonight as we knew we were unlikely to come back and yet we never got them delivered or a call so it feels like a con that you are getting charged for things that never get delivered we wouldn’t go back again

Only called the restaurant to find out where the order was as it had been an hour since ordering on Deliveroo. And the guy and women on the phone were very rude they told me in a very loud and angry voice, quote " ITS ONLY 2MINS LATE, BE PATIENT". Both need a lesson on customer service. This place is only 1.4miles away from my place so wanted to get an update on the order and that was it but the attitude of the staff at the restaurant was despicable. Oh and the delivered it almost 1hr 15mins after ordering and they got the order WRONG.

Normally a very good takeaway we order from them all the time but unfortunately this time the Bombay potatoes were very oily and the chicken tikka masala was very watery. We are very disappointed will have to look somewhere else .

Good food, delivery or collection service, we always get a delivery which comes pretty quick, 10% off if cash payer. Reasonable prices and portions.

Stones in my naan bread. Two pieces of gravel. Disgusted. Called the restaurant who passed it off as ‘normal’ due to tandoor oven. Eaten Naan bread from many curry places before / never happened! offered to replace my naan bread - no thanks, meal with relatives (including a 13 year old with leukaemia ) spoiled. Couldn’t make it up could you? Terrible, never going back.

Me and my Dad order this Indian takeaway once a week and it is absolutely perfect. We have tried many takeaways for Indian and this is our favourite. The food is perfect value for money, chicken tikka is gorgeous and they also do egg fried rice which I love but have never found another Indian takeaway which does it. The whole meal is delicious, the takeaway always says it will be with you within the hour and it always is and 9/10 times it is much faster. The delivery men are lovely and look presentable, our favourite takeaway.

This was most impressive a well presented had a delightful meal freshly cooked. 10 out of 10 thank you for the service we will be back for more

I was really worried about trying a takeaway curry again as I went into anaphylactic shock while pregnant as another shop didnt take my allergies seriously, but this shop took the time to talk through ingredients in depth with me and I'm really glad i went here! Staff are so friendly and food is delicious and fresh!

I had chicken tikka balti red colour for some reason and dont taste like balti naan bread was burnt

We’ve eaten at Paradise Masala for many years and it’s always been a firm favourite as vegetarians. The paneer shashlik is always a highlight, as are the Piaza lentil starters when available. Although never greasy, depending on whose cooking, the dishes can sometimes be spiked with food colouring which is a shame as they taste great. We’ve had some overly coconuty based side dishes too which can sometimes overpower, especially the chana masala. Just observations thought as I said the food is always tasty and a nice monthly treat!

Food is absolutely sensational we’re never disappointed. We get one every week and the consistency is amazing.

Fantastic good, best Indian I've had in Colchester

I've just had the worst experience from this restaurant. They delivered the wrong food, I then rang up to tell them where I got shouted at for opening the dishes. They said they would send out another meal. 20 minutes later the delivery driver turned up with 1 part of the meal. I then explained it was meant to be the whole meal. He rang his boss, got shouted at. I then get a phone call from the owner shouting at me asking why I wouldn't take it. I then explained he had told me to pack it all up and anyway it was cold. I asked for my money back. He screamed and shouted at me then refused to give me my money back. The 1 star rating is for the delivery drivers who couldn't have been nicer.

No esperaba mucho (llevar curry en Colchester todavía me impresiona). Elegimos este lugar después de algunas buenas críticas. Basado en algunas de las otras críticas, quizás esto sólo fue mala suerte y fuera, pero no fue una buena experiencia y que casi lo hace peor!Pedí un popadom, el entrante, mezclado dhansak y tikka naan sencilla. La confirmación de la entrega en casa de hambre puesto 20:08 (genial, teniendo en cuenta que sólo pedimos a las 19:30! ) pronto corregida por el texto a las 20:28, sin embargo, que todavía estaba bien. Por desgracia, el orden no apareció hasta las 20:50.El popadom estaba bien. El mezclado inicial era muy mala - tikka y seekh estaban secos y cerca de piedra fría, y la samosa y bhaji estaban frías y muy pasada. . No samosa crujido alguno. El curry estaba más caliente, pero la carne estaba seca. En el lado positivo el sabor no estaba mal, y la cantidad de carne fue buena. El naan era frío y duro.Lamentable, porque yo estaba con ganas de probar un sitio nuevo, y aún más porque otros comentarios parecen sugerir este lugar es generalmente bastante buena. Según esto, mi primera vez aquí también será la última!

We had a korma, a lamb rogan josh and a chicken tikka, wonderfull all three meal. With rice, onion barges and pompadour just completed this best ever Indian takeaway.

Es todo sobre el sabor, y por lo que he pedido 5 veces y hay un sabor mucho. Buena comida, llega caliente, bien de precio y hasta ahora no me decepcionó. A veces es demasiado salsas pero siempre sabía gggreeaat. Justo hasta mi calle. Este es un llevar.

I cannot fault the food from this establishment. I think this is due to being a take away only. I had a tandoori chicken with rice and a garlic naan and it was delicious. My husband food looked very tasty too. The menu looked good, there was lots to choose from. My only fault with Paradise Masala is that we ordered ti the food to be delivered at a certain time and it was delivered half an hour early, my husband hadn't even arrived home from work! I would suggest if ordering from them, order when you want it, they don't seem to have the hand of delivering at a certain time.

We had ordered for the 1st time from this place this evening . very nice quality, portions and taste!! even the poppys are "how they used to taste". and loved the "dips"!!!(have had from other places and dont usually like them) Will definately order from here again.

I am a regular customer. Even though it is near to where I live, the food is always so delicious that I would travel across town to get food here.Their chicken curry with mango and pistachio is to die for. I have been across the far east, europe and australia, and I would say that is one of the best curries have ever had... and on my doorstep.If you register and get a loyalty card, you get a free naan bread too, which is a nice bonus.My husband likes to try different dishes from the menu, and everything we have ordered has been delicious.Whether collection or home delivery, food is always hot, plentiful and tasty. One of the best indian takeaways around.

Have used this twice now ordering via just eat. Delivery was bang on time and free popodoms and pickles etc were included.Food was very good quality and they had taken notice of our special requests. Will defiantly go back.

Have ordered from here a few times and always enjoy the food but was very upset with the service. Were told the delivery time would be 21.10, however it arrived at 8.30. Although we were pleased it had arrived earlier, we were not downstairs to hear the front door and when we did open the door after no longer than 2 minutes, we found the driver to be very rude. He almost told us off and said 'answer the door quicker next time' and didn't believe us when we told him what the expected delivery time was. The food is very nice but the driver lets this Indian takeaway down.

Just had a delivery came quick hot and was really good im very fussy with indian and wasn't sure if to try as I normally go to one where I used to live but was really impressed asked to make a dish a bit hotter and it was made just right definitely will use again very nice

I've used this place three times now, and each time they have delivered in around 30 minutes, which means the food is hot and hasn't sat for too long in containers.The food is very good. It's tasty, authentic, there's plenty to choose from and the portion sizes are good too - all at a reasonable price.I've tried quite a few of the Indian takeaways in Colchester, and some can be a bit hit and miss - especially the restaurant takeaways. This place however just does takeaway and so perhaps that's why it stands out from the rest of the crowd - definitely recommended.
