Rhyl Cookhouse & Pub in Denbighshire

I loved the rooms and the beds were really comfortable. The food in the attached restaurant and bar was excellent. The Lady who served us was extremely nice.

Cookhouse Rhyl. We go here around once a week. Always a great service and food is always nice. Staff are very friendly and pleasant. Can’t fault it.

I have been to your place a few time since you’ve opened and it seems to be going downhill. The food can’t no longer be called a good quality pub food. It seems like it has been reheated in a microwave. Staff is still nice and trying their best. Whoever runs the place ,needs to make some improvements.

On entering we were met by a lovely lady who seated us and took our drinks order whilst we looked at the menu. Ordered the gammon and fish and chips, meal was hot and plentiful and the overall cost, including drinks, was excellent. Will definitely use again.

Service from house team good. The food was very poor. Asked for a rare steak. This came out as medium to well done. Onion rings were burnt. Myself and my son did not eat them.

We stayed at the Premier inn for 3 nights and this is the attached pub, which in turn the Premier Inn is a nice establishment and clean. But unfortunately the 3 nights they actively promote opening hours online are till 23.00hrs. The first 2 nights we was ushered out at 22.00hrs and 3rd night walked in at 20. 40 to be told by a customer at the bar (you will be lucky to get a drink) Then I was geared by a female bar manager who was very rude and ignorant over the stay to her reply we are closed. I replied you have closed early the last 2 nights and this is earlier Again. We are residents at the Premier inn her reply I have to be at be at the hospital for 21.00hrs... That's all well but surely you must have a 2nd in command and leave it with someone which there was still people eating. This woman is a very rude and ignorant person and should not be front of house in an establishment like this.. 3 days 3 bad experiences...

Had a lovely family dinner here. Servers were lovely and friendly, food was delicious and came quick despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon.

Had food before the theatre. Nothing special but filled the stomach before watching the show.

Stopping at the premier inn next door just called in for a pint. The floor could do with a clean seating strained and sticky tables lights broken above table. Just needs a clean it's a not bothered atmosphere with staff. We will not be eating here.

If I could give this a 0 star I would. Service if you could call it that was absolutely rubbish. Waited over 1 hour for food. Charging over £4 for 2 bread slices. £13 for 3 chicken goujons on a bun. When you spend £75 you expect a lot better than what was served. Won't be visiting again

Excellent service as always, when I receive good service no matter how many times I visit a place, I will always do a review about the place. My daughter has ARFID, ASD and OCD Kat, Leanne, and Natalie know me when I come in and have seen my daughter. On today's visit, I met Caz and Jenny of house/managers they we're brilliant seating us as requested in the memo. Dawn, the chef, did an amazing job with one arm in a sling 100% for service and a smile, I would have cried seeing how busy you all we're, hard enough with 2 arms working never mind one broken. Anyway, service was spot on. Here is the only place that makes my daughter feel like she's at ease with OCD, ASD and ARFID. Thank you, guys. See you in August.

First 2 meals I had there was amazing and service was fantastic but unfortunately the Sunday roast was not good. Service on that day was diabolical.. overall nice and friendly

Had a sign up stating that they were short staffed but wouldn't have known it, we were dealt with by a couple of staff and were very professional and polite, the food (we have eaten here twice) was absolutely gorgeous and we wouldn't hesitate returning, prices are very good as well

Very rude waitress. Had to wait a while to be seated with no acknowledgement Directed to seat which I wasn’t happy with as it was next to a dustbin. We asked to move and the seat had food on it the table was sticky and so was the menu. I politely went to the waitress to let her know the table was available as we had changed our mind. Repeat visitor. Good quality food, steaks perfectly cooked, to order. Good selection of deserts and drinks. Pleasant, helpful and friendly staff. Recommended.

There was a party of 22. Went smoothly and efficiently, all food came out fast and had no complaints. Tracey went above and beyond in planning prep to decorating the tables to the actual service on the day.

Overall it We were both happy and sad. The Burger, steak and goujons were nice but the chips were cold to lukewarm which is a shame because they looked lovely. My daughters veggie sticks (cucumber and carrot) were bone dry and floppy and she wouldn't eat them, if we had a pet rabbit I doubt he/she would have eaten them either lol. The pizza was like cardboard and my daughter only ate it because she was so hungry. It was 5pm when we went in and the food came out quickly after ordering. The staff were all very nice and helpful and fast at helping out. The mens toilets were disgusting. They were both filled up with poo which could not be flushed away because it was broken and wouldn't flush. The other toilets were out of order as so should have these ones. Soap dispenser was leaking all over the floor making it slippy. Bit confused as to the seating also, there were loads of empty tables throughout the place but they kept putting everyone in the same area and some people were seated behind us so close they kept knocking into our chairs and faffing around which was annoying. Can't fault the burger and steak though, very nice.

We were passing through whilst exploring on holiday. Lovely quiet atmosphere, not a huge amount of vegetarian options available but the ones on offer were so nice! Staff were friendly also. Shout out to Leanne for helping us out ☺️

Nice welcome and we were seated very quickly. Great selection on both the hot plate and the continental breakfast and the drinks. You can go up as many times as you wanted so great value for money.

What a lovely member of staff they have here a big shout out to tracey for a wonderful greating at the door and asking for any allergies which my girlfriend was gluten free and they were really supportive also Corey and dean for a wonderful table service too I would definitely recommend the cookhouse to anyone and everyone thank you so much all staff

Came here sunday for a quick meal during the day and lovely experience. my server was a young girl with blonde hair and was so polite and had no issues handling any requests I made. Table was cleared quickly and drinks were kept on top off! will definitely be coming in again.

Went here on Saturday for breakfast 1 adult and 3 children, one of my daughters has ARFID eating disorder and ASD, OCD and everywhere I go and book either online or in-store, have to ask for a table either on the outer edges or in corner. Lots of places look at me like I'm making it up, absolutely draining behaviour/looks off staff when I request this, sometimes they don't take notice. She has badge lanyard to state both. Here every time at submarine cookhouse they are fantastic, go over and beyond, never give me looks, never make me feel I'm trying things on or bad mum cos that's the look I get when she doesn't get or waste bits of food as I never let her get full plates of anything, knowing it will be wasted, sometimes she eats of mine food and share. Here is the best place, service, and understanding of requirements to individuals. The chef on Saturday was brilliant, making her giggle when another child touched a plate and walked off this started her trigger with OCD, he was lovely took it away and gave her a fresh one (bearing in mind she uses her own cutlery). Sammy and Katie were both expectional with my daughters needs. Please make this known to all staff regarding requirements to each individual. Your staff certainly did this. Please make sure praises are given. Food fresh, hot, lots of choice on breakfast, all refilled. Toilets are clean and fresh too, parking around the back. You just need to pop your reg in at the checking point in the restaurant.

Food was lovely but not very clean and the staff weren't very attentive to tidying up tables and loads of empty glasses and food on the floor. Shame as the food was great value and really nice

Was in the area travelling and my son and I needed dinner, I searched Google maps for 'dinner near me' and found The Submariner Cookhouse which had good reviews. I easily reserved a table online for our estimated arrival time. The staff team were very friendly and welcoming, tables were clean and the dining area is spacious and comfortable. We had a good meal here and didn't have room desert. Thanks to the team for your hospitality. I recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Had a lovely meal here with the family, service was so lovely from the start from the great staff. relatively inexpensive, and everyone was very satisfied with their meals - particularly the kids with their meal deal! Clean, tidy venue with nice loos. Nothing to dislike! Some nice crayons and colouring sheets for the kids too.

Had a lovely Birthday meal here yesterday 🥳, we both had the Thai Green Vegetable Curry which was excellent. We were served by Jenny who was very friendly and helpful (thank you Jenny). I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

A very busy afternoon, gathering with pre Mother's Day outings. But Ben (his first day aswel) went above and beyond in the service he provided our table. A delightful young man who will be an asset to the team at the cookhouse. We are locals so hope to see him serving us again in the future!

On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our table. Our order was taken swiftly and arrived soon after. Didn't have long to wait for anything. Very helpful staff, both at the table and the bar. We went to the cookhouse Rhyl for our sons birthdays and had a brilliant time, the staff set up balloons and even some chocolates as a gift, staff were really attentive all evening and the food was great too ,top marks .

Came here for lunch with my daughter and a couple of my friends. The service was great and although there was a mix up with the food and a long wait, the staff were apologetic and comped some drinks and reduced out overall bill as an apology. The food was well worth the wait. My daughter had spag bol, me and one friend had the smothered chicken an it was lush!! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and even made a fresh meal for my friend when she had to move her car due to time restrictions. I will defo come here again. We as in 4 of us , my husband & I & our best friends often go to The Submariner in Rhyl, It ticks every box ,warm ,comfortable, clean, roomy, the staff are outstanding, friendly helpful, thoughtful, go out of their way to make your visit a pleasure, we went there last evening for a birthday , they decorated the table, bought a box chocs from all staff, were quite happy to do the honours with birthday cake can’t praise them enough & the food outstanding in every way
