The William Morgan in Denbighshire

This is probably the 5th time ive been as its quite similar to wetherspoons which means i know what im doing a regards ordering and the vibe is similar. Its a pleasant enough place, the staff were generally good but they forgot my peas....

Visited Saturday 26th October area 2:00pm. Plenty of free tables which was good but all of them stacked with used dishes, cups and glasses etc. managed to find a table not stacked with used dishes but it needed a good clean, food and drinks splashed all over. So far not a great start. Looking around and the place looks a bit tired with the windows looking like they were cleaned with a dirty mop 🥴 Bothe myself and my wife ordered steaks, mine as it comes and my wife asked for the chips to be swapped for a plain salad. Things are now looking better… £48 for 2 steak meals plus drinks isn’t too bad on face value. The food arrived, my wife’s plate with mayonnaise all over the plain salad but to be fair it was remedied very quickly. Then we get onto the food quickly We both ordered the same meal except my wife’s chips were swapped for salad, however my steak was approximately one third the size of my wife’s. I don’t expect them to be identical twins but they should at least be similar. My wife’s was about the size of a saucer and mine about the size of a zippo lighter, really obvious the difference in size. And then the food quality…..it wasn’t great at all. Both steaks were tough and riddled with gristle throughout, the chips were cheap frozen chips of a poor quality and the peas were just little green bullets. Overall not pleasant and for nearly £50 it was disappointing. Wetherspoons do 2 decent steaks with drinks included for £30 with bigger steaks and much better quality meals overall. The plus points were the onion rings were ok and the plain salad had plenty of variety. Some years ago and before lockdown we had a caravan in the area and it was always a great place to eat. Things have clearly gone down hill. Will definitely not be going back there

Myself and my family (partner and 2 young children) frequented this lovely pub for our weeks holiday in October of this year (2024). We were mostly served by the nicest waitress over the 4 days, Diane. She took the time to talk to us and our children (4 years old and 8 months), and she was so friendly and accommodating. It is really quite difficult these days to find a place to eat that accepts children with no issues, and has a children’s menu. They currently have an offer on for 2 adult main meals for £17.99 and it’s a good sized meal and so delicious. Over the week, I had the coconut curry and lasagne and my partner had the cheese and bacon burger and lasagne. All perfection with no complaints!

Called in for drinks and meals as a treat, The staff are always lovely and friendly everything is clean and tidy, Food is very nice and tasty Had the chicken tikka and gammon A great atmosphere Highly recommended

A wonderful place, we were served by Danny & Justyn, 10 very hungry woman for breakfast, all was amazing. We had been in the night before aswell for a drink and all the staff were amazing then aswell

Visited on 14.10.24 and we both had the all day breakfast, cooked to perfection and all good quality. We were looked after by Diane and Justin who went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely afternoon. We are local and have been before but this visit was so good in every way that I've just phoned and booked for Christmas Day!! Thank you William Morgan! Sandy and Alan

My wife and I came in and we didn’t realise it was a sports bar, I wear hearing aids I had to take them out because of the noise so that ment my wife had to shout to talk to me she was hungry so stayed for the meal which we enjoyed, the food was good and the staff were Curtias and prompt, it was just to noisy, so I apologise for not mentioning this in my post the first time. regards Norman.

We use this pub as our local and its a good value high st pub, good pub food, very freindly and pooches re very welcome with treats and water bowls provided. A new member of the bar team this week called Ben, this young man is a credit, very polite, happy and his customer skills are second to none, hope he stays on the staff.

Don’t get the wrong the food was really nice, but to say the place was very quiet, taking 45 minutes on a bunch of small plates, is a little too long

Ben, who served us was extremely pleasant, very friendly and despite being new (as he told us) he was very accommodating. The drinks were not the cheapest but still not the most expensive.

This place is do chilled the staff are so welcoming and friendly great atmosphere definitely recommend it

Silvia was our waitress and was more then helpful, advised on the best meals , friendly and smiley. Food recommended was good and at a reasonable price. Ticks the boxes for a cheap and cheerful eating place with friendly staff.

Ordered tonight for the second time through uber eats. We had a nightmare with Uber! Took about 40 minutes to find the driver and then he cancelled 20 minutes later. About 40 minutes later I phoned the place up because Uber have now stopped their customer service number and their chat bot just says sorry and looking for a driver. I spoke on the phone with a lady who apologised and passed the phone to the chef, Matt. Matt was very helpful and apologetic. He gave us their contact details for uber and was happy to assist in any way he could. When a driver eventually came up, he got him to wait so our food could be made fresh. Really tasty food but will visit in person next time. Last time I ever use Uber! Took about 2 hours in total for our food but no fault of the restaurant.

Absolutely horrendous Avoid at all costs One star, is one star two many! Food was totally inedible can’t even believe it was allowed to leave the kitchen Awful never again!!!

Not a great selection of Ales or unavailable at the time of visit. Nice pub with a good atmosphere.

Do NOT visit for a Sunday dinner! Sunday dinner was probably one of if not the worst I’ve had. The only things edible was the meat and Yorkshire puddings. Peas hard,roast potatoes hard and dry and tasted of the deep fat fryer and the “veg” were discoloured microwaved and cooked very strangely. £50/60 for two adults and two kids would be great if the food was edible.

Pub food. You need to turn music off when footy is on!! No crowd no point in watching the footy.

Beth, Adam and Danny the Turkey were a pleasure to speak to, very nice, very welcoming and food was served incredibly quickly for a great price. Lovely team, Gobble Gobble.

Just a wetherspoons but TWICE the price! Had a cavery triple roast which was 1 slice of beef,turkey and pork.Crackling was basically the size od a large matchstick! Stuffing the size of an old 10p!! 4 roast potatoes (frozen sort), 2 of which fitted in my mouth whole! Very tiny amount of veg. Wife had beef dinner, 2 thin slices of beef £15.49!! Same again regards veg. We're not fat big eaters! But polished this off no problem.2/10 rubbish

Visited yesterday with my son after the car show. Very busy, great atmosphere, great service. It’s dog friendly too. We both had a meal, reasonably priced, and they are willing to adapt something on menu to meet vegetarian requirements if you don’t fancy the vegetarian options that are already available.

The food was unfit to eat. The fish was filleted wafer thin and the batter was rock hard. The fish covered the very small portion of chips. I took it back and was given a fresh portion. But there was item missing off the plate. I didn't get a reply back about quality control of the food or the size of the portions. Only to be given the excuse of 2 members of the kitchen staff were absent from work. Won't be eating there again.

Lovely place and the food was really yummy. One issue was that I ordered the cheese and bean toastie with dirty fries, but the dirty fries consisted of just a little blob of bbq and a few shreds of cheese, though it states on the menu the dirty fries come with bacon bits and green onions :(

Not the largest of places, but decent amount of space. Gets very busy around lunch/dinner times. Staff all seemed friendly & helpful. Clean & tidy throughout. Allows dogs inside.

Wasn't overly impressed this morning with our full breakfast turned up barely warm and tea was like nats p.. s. Not enough butter for the one slice of toast we had and no black pudding whats that about.

Once again a group of locals visited for our regular Friday meal. We visit all the restaurants in Prestatyn. but the William Morgan is one of the favourites.a booking had been made ,for 10 however 14 turned up, although they were very busy all the staff made us very welcome and found a table to accommodate the extras.

My wife and l stayed in Prestatyn on a self catering holiday recently. I discovered the William Morgan online while still at home and it had excellent reviews so decided to try it out. We ended up eating in there every day. I wasn’t sure before we went whether they did breakfasts as these don’t seem to be on their website although all other meals are. They do, in fact, do breakfasts and my wife and I can highly recommend them. We also sampled meals off the main menu throughout the week. These are equally as good. Also, they do a decent variety of real ales for those who enjoy a quality pint. All meals and drinks are very reasonably priced too. I found the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. We were served with breakfast in the mornings by Diane who couldn’t do enough for us. I would very much recommend the William Morgan and will look forward to visiting again when we’re next in Prestatyn.

Not to bad and the good points are there's never any trouble there

First time we have been to a dog friendly pub, where the staff straight away greeted our dog with treats and and own water bowl and a lot of fuss. The food and service was great to. We can tell they where animal lovers.

Seems like a chain restaurant. The food and atmosphere is a bit lacking.

Cheap beer on a monday eve didn't have food

Food came quickly and was delicious, service was excellent. We go often in mornings for coffee and toast, very friendly staff.

A great local pub, always a good atmosphere, especially for sports events, and the staff are very friendly. They have a good range of beers and ciders on draught, and the food is great value for money. Families are always welcomed, and there's a nice little beer garden (with a TV) for the rare days we get sun.

We really enjoyed our teatime meal,it was the first evening of our holiday.The children's menu was especially good value for money and nicely cooked. our meals were also very good and we really enjoyed our evening..The overall price for food and drinks was very reasonable,the staff were very pleasant too.

Great bar/restaurant,well looked after and TV's everywhere so brilliant if you love sports and there's a nice outside part too.Service and food very good and reasonably priced too so definitely worth going to for a meal or a pint..or both

The third toilet in the mens toilet has a hole you put your willy in and get a treat

My daily walk sometimes consists of a Stop Off at the Morgan, Monday it was for Breakfast, I always get a wonderful reception from the staff here, friendly and nice, Bethan served me this morning, the breakfast was lovely and at a price real folk can afford. Simply the Best, I recommend it.

We came for a steak meal and was amazed by the quality. My wife and I both had the 10oz rump steak cooked medium rare. It was perfectly cooked tender and flavoursome. I had a side salad which complimented it nicely. We were served by Diane and she was really friendly and helpful. We will definetly recommend to friends and visit again soon. The whole team are engaging and very pleasant to deal with Well deserved 5 stars A good tip is to sign up on the phone app which gives points which you can save and spend. They have regular offers too

What a lovely bar restaurant TWM is it's my first time to this part of Wales and I would highly recommend this wonderful place price not to bad and food is good plus staff is lively ..5 star

Went in on Saturday afternoon just for drinks. Obviously a popular place as it was quite busy, there was two male staff on the bar and I waited 15 minutes and walked out because I had not been served. More bar staff needed at busy times such as weekends. Disappointed 😥

This place not dog friendly at all just because they have dog biscuits i took my girl ruby i left the breakfast before we even got it because they said said my small dachund couldn't lsit next to me my little girl is well behave and as always sat next to me in every place she is clever then the smell piss heads what wet the seats throw Orable hostile place

We found this place completely by accident while we were on holiday. And what a gem of a place. Staff super friendly and professional. The whole of the place is completely dog friendly so we could sit anywhere we liked. And the food is spectacular. Highly recommend and wish I could give more stars.

My local go to place of choice nice bar and a nice outdoor drinking area that catches the sun. Food is decent

I went with my three friends for a Birthday lunch today and was served by a young man called Danny. I would like to say he was so lovely and served us with a big smile and nothing was too much trouble. Got recommended by a local. Conveniently located near the train station. Polite service from the bar staff. App for ordering from the table. Nice food. Loved the TV's in the booths for sport.

What a little gem, super friendly staff great cheap food and 100% dog friendly. We were on holiday in prestatyn and visited a few times and had great service e on all occasions, we were explained to about the cask ale loyalty card so made use of that 🙂. We took our dog in with us fo4 lunch and were made to feel really welcome they have a special dog station where you can get a bowl of water and treat and they are able to be with you at any table not a specific area like so.many other places. I summary really good value friendly pub.

Average pub. Does what it needs to do just fine. Lots of TVs for sport if you like that sort of thing, pool table etc. bonus point for being dog friendly, with selection of treats on the bar, that's good. But other than that an absolute fine place that's not bad but doesn't scream anything special for me. Decent staff, decent selection of beers but just screams "generic". Or I suppose they would prefer "traditional"?

We came in as a group of 2 families, camping near by , 4 adults 6 kids and a dog, we enquired if dogs can come in and yes, even had dog treats on the bar, food was delicious, kids food very good portions and value, we were waited on by Dianne who was lovely and brilliant

We were able to order half a breakfast, which was more than enough for us. Since it was lovely weather we were able to sit outside. Food was delicious and arrived promptly. Very friendly staff as well. You will certainly see us again!!

I visited this Prestatyn Pub just, it’s unusual I post and give credit to places, the friendly reception and continuity of such from Danny and Diane was super and made my day, the breakfast was lovely. I will return and continue to enjoy a friendly wee place.

Great dog friendly pub, where you can chill or watch sport on multiple screens.Has seating at front and get garden at back.Speed food orders and noticed you can reserve booths we're tv screens are on wall ! Nice local pub lots of offers on food prices 😀 👍

My wife and I were in Prestatyn yesterday shopping and we happened to see this elegant pub, so in we went to our surprise it was superb.We ordered breakfast and some drinks and the service was excellent and the food super. The staff Diane and Dan made us so welcome it was a breath of fresh air. We went outside to sit after as it was a nice day and outside facility’s were superb what brilliant place as we live in Colwyn Bay we both wished it was in our town as we would visit a lot more, so if you’re in Prestatyn or near buy please give this pub a visit I know we will when in that area a big thank you for excellent welcome and hope we see you soon.

Been a few times now and each time has been a pleasant experience with friendly staff and a calm atmosphere

After recently having an upgrade the William Morgan really feels very homely and the staff are a massive part of that achievement. We were served by Diane and Dan and were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent and at a good price. We ordered from the table using the app which works very well. An all round excellent experience. Keep up the great work and we will certainly be back.

I come to the William Morgan quiet regular as its local great place for food and drinks and there is a lot for everyone staff friendly but a special mention to Danny who goes that extra mile for you and its like its not an issue or problem and makes your vist slot better

The food was hot and fresh, very tasty, I have not had much better for the price Staff was pleasant and very welcoming of my family and our dogs
