The food here is amazing! No matter what you order, the flavors are incredible! Super friendly staff as well! Highly recommend!!

A lovely warm and welcoming cafe. The only disappointing aspect for me is it's frequented by those from Ballard House!!!!

A firm favourite of mine, and always enjoy the home made soup or panini. Although simplified menu, it always has a speal with regular changes. Coffee made with love, attention to detail and staff very attentive. My only complaint is that its not open on a Saturday but don't blame the team for time off.

We have been recommended this place by a friend and it's definitely lived up the expectations! I had the soup of the day with warm ciabatta bread and my husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich! Both were honestly incredible! For a treat we had a sticky toffee biscoff cake, which was again amazing!! The atmosphere was also great, lots of people and friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back here and bringing friends and family. Couldn't recommend more!!!

Absolutely outstanding. By far the best sandwich I have had in recent memory. I had the Cuban pork and a black coffee. I can’t believe this place doesn’t have queues out the door all day long. If you want the best sandwich in the UK make the trek to Plymouth and eat here Highly highly recommend

I’m renowned in my family as being hard to please when it comes to eating out. This however was the finest sandwich I’ve ever tasted. Perfectly moist porcetta, fresh pillowy ciabatta, piquant salsa and mayo - Sublime 😋

Lovely coffee but what really stood out was our Cubano toasted sandwich! The flavour combination of pork, pickles and cheese, melted to perfection, was bang on!

My first visit today and l understood why my friend said get there in plenty of time to grab a table, very popular, it seems! Not your usual menu of 'Full English' etc, but unusual and freshly prepared brunch food, we had gorgeous soup and tasty chicken dish in a roll, loved it, reasonably priced for something a little bit special, definitely a place to visit. Regularly visit for takeaway coffees, breakfasts and lunches. Staff are lovely, coffee is great and the food is amazing. The sandwich options are always changing and are so much more interesting than the usual choices you’d get in a cafe.

I originally heard about this place through a colleague who would commonly go for lunch. Hearing all the positive things he would say about it I finally Mustard (see what I did there) up the courage to give this place a go. As I first entered the environment I was instantly hit with a wave of warmth and felt welcomed into this establishment. From the smells of freshly baked bread to the selection of cakes and coffees I knew I was in for a treat. With an easy to follow menu, I decided to go for a Porchetta Cubanos sandwich and a flat white coffee. I was instantly handed my coffee just after ordering which allowed me to add sugar and a stir while I waited for my sandwich. Although the coffee being smaller than expected, especially at the price point of £3.30, I was presently surprised when I took the lid of and they had still added a cute touch of coffee foam art. The coffee was rich and creamy (just how I like it) and was thoroughly enjoyed while my Sandwich was being prepped fresh with pork belly, ham, swiss cheese and pesto. The only problems I had with the flat white was the portion size and the heat but given a flat white is primarily milk I'll give it them benefit of the doubt. I was handed my sandwich in a small brown bag along with a chipotle mayo dip alongside to accompany it. I was splashed with a wave of aromas as I went nose deep into the bag only adding to the excitement for when I got back to work able to sit down and eat. I was originally concerned with the portion size as the sandwich alone was £8.00. Taking my first bite, that concern was instantly looked back on with regret as the juices of the tender pork belly had soaked beautifully into the bread as if they were made for each other. The combination of meats and sauces were blended perfectly, with all the components being fresh and the chipotle mayo giving the sandwich a slight kick of spice into my life. Overall, I would rate this an 8.5/10 and would happily go back and even potentially bring the pooches along as there was a dog bowl and free treats for them in the restaurant. Christmas Dinner sorted!! Pre-ordered it all just had to finish cooking it on the day. Everything was just delicious. Really made Christmas Dinner stress free. Great value for money and plenty of food for all of us.

I visit Rhubarb and Mustard daily due to a boss who loves caffeine. I've got to know Dan, Jane and Tracey well, they are always so accommodating and welcoming when I visit. The coffee is great, cakes are delicious and the sandwiches are different but...

Really friendly staff and the coffee was superb. Easily the best I tried in Plymouth but I should add that Hutong Cafe near the Royal William Yard was equally good. I didn't eat here but the cakes and treats looked delicious.

I have eaten multiple times now and each time the food is yummy. I often attend with with daughter who is 1. I am gluten free and dairy free. Nothing is a problem. Food always comes out promptly. One occasion we had to rush off...

Rhubarb n mustard comes up as a connection but they don’t give you the code. No explanation, just ‘no’! Unfortunate as needed to go online briefly for work from laptop. I hope they change this.

Very tasty sandwiches, the best in Plymouth personally. I’ve commented on them before with 5 stars and they’ll be receiving that again! Well done to the team at Rhubarb and a mustard for another fantastic meal.

My colleagues and I regularly use R&M and would recommend the coffee, the hot chocolate, the soup, the sandwiches & paninis - especially the grilled cheese, oh the grilled cheese! Yesterday a colleague had the Cajun chicken panini and couldn't stop telling everyone how much he liked it. The menu changes every day but they keep it small and it really works; they offer consistent quality and they have lovely staff, what's not to like? We're very happy to see them make it through the tough times, they deserve it.

This is a cosy otter cafe with good snacks and a decent selection of drinks. Off the main streets so caters more for local workers but handy when in the area. Recommended

Quality, passion and attention to detail pay dividends. This cafe is a prime example. Roasted Crowne Prince soup with sage and Parmesan was very tasty. The white pepper was evident and the service in this friendly family business perfection. This how a cafe should be.

We decided to go into Rhubarb and Mustard after walking past it many times. I had the most delicious lunch that I will remember for a very long time. The grilled cheese buffalo cauliflower sandwich was the best I have ever had, the flavour combinations in the sandwich made every mouthful heaven, the coffee and cake were also delicious. The place is small , people were queuing out the door when we went with regulars (which is a good sign). The service was friendly and efficient, and the interior was relaxed but cool. Planning when I can return again !!!

First trip involved coffee and a piece of carrot cake. The coffee was one of the better types where it was NOT bitter and didn't need multiple spoons of sugar. The carrot cake was very moist, crumbly and the cream cheese topping was just sublime. Will be going back!

Popped in on the way home after a long ride, just to refresh and recharge before finishing off. Was met with such a lovely welcome and offered one of the most delicious soups I have ever had (tomato and black bean) plus given a coffee with wonderful artwork that tasted lovely. 10/10 for the service, hospitality and such a warm experience. Recommended.

I have chosen this place for breakfast due to the reviews, however when we arrived it turned out that sandwiches aren't served until 12, until then - only couple of sorts of pastries, porridge and coffee. Also the place is really small. Maybe it's a good place for takeaway lunch when they serve sandwiches (which I didn't have a chance to try), however for breakfast even Costa Coffee has a better choice (and a bigger room size). I was really disappointed because I spent an hour in the hotel with the hungry toddler waiting specifically for that place to open, instead of going to the lovely cafe nearby open at 8!

Never been before but will definitely be returning to try the different (and ever changing) range of sandwiches and soups. The sandwiches were a cut above anything I've had elsewhere and having a little pot of fresh and tasty soup to dunk those crusts in sealed the deal.Looking forward to visiting again soon.

El servicio fue rápido y amable y sin duda volveremos. First time I went here and saw they only had 3 choices, I really struggled to order. But I chose the pork option that came with lots of things I wouldn't normally eat. Im glad I tried it as it was amazing.Went back the next day, had the chicken one, which again came with fillings I wouldn't normally eat, again amazing. The best sandwich I have ever eaten came on my next visit, which was their beef one.I would say looking at the couple of the negative comments on here, I do have to agree with what they say. Whilst the junior staff are very friendly, the person whom Im guessing is the owner/manager could definitely make moire of an effort to make people feel welcome.

Adorable little coffee shop, have always wanted to visit and now finally have! Lovely staff and service, great coffee and breakfast granola!

Great to see this great coffee shop open again after the lockdown and to see all the staff safe and sound. The coffee was spot on as always and the sausage bap hit the spot. The layout to the shop has been rearranged to make it Safe for customers and staff. I felt totally at ease ordering my coffee and had no concerns. I will definitely be visiting again. Great staff, great service and safe establishment.

At first, we thought it was a little quirky place with quite limited menu... We just popped for a coffee but saw a resting beef on one of the trays and decided to order beef sandwiches for our lunch. The beef was top quality, pink inside, tender and cook to perfection. A warm roll and a tasty sauce made it a pleasure to eat... We absolutely loved it!

Come here regularly for lunch as I work nearby, the sandwiches are always delicious - the meat and ingredients are always fresh and the combinations of sandwiches are genius! Always look forward to seeing what’s on the menu, will be back for more soon!Oh I also tried one of their vegan brownies and it has to be one of the best brownies I’ve ever had!

A hidden gem! Perfect place for coffee, breakfast or lunch with delicious food! We ordered of Christmas ham and prepared veg box from them too and it was absolutely fab! Beautifully prepared, easy instructions to follow and really delicious! Would highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere and really good coffee - I definitely recommend the non-dairy oat and coconut options. The cake always looks delicious and the vegan chocolate brownie was a treat. Great whether you're meeting friends or for an informal business meeting.

Stopped by for one of Rhubard and Mustards delicious coffee's. A rich tasty blend to give a kick to your day. With freshly roasted meats and delicious soups, on this occasion I went for the meatballs. Really tasty packed full I really enjoyed their slightly spicy kick. Can get busy at lunchtimes and not the largest seating area but well worth a visit. If you sit by the door take a coat as it can get drafty. The staff are very friendly and there is a great feel about the place. Highly recommended.

Glum November day down the West end of Plymouth; both ticket machines kaput in the Pavilions car park; notes left on windscreens in hope of no fines; meeting for lunch with friend just made redundant; no doubt Slade belting out nauseating Xmas musak in every other tinselled emporium.

Just wonderful spicy cauliflower soup with hot bread. Garnished tastefully with corriander leaves and a spoon of sour cream. Staff lovely.oh by the way great coffee.

Great little cafe we found by accident - easily the best coffee we have had in Plymouth (and most of the UK). Lunchtime sandwiches are epic - great with a side of their soup. Staff are always welcoming and ready for a chat which my wife and daughter love when they go there (which is most days). Only down side is that they aren't open 24/7!

I've been here for breakfast meetings twice now. The coffee is great, the food is delicious (I've had the bacon/sausage baps) and the whole environment is well designed and comfortable. A lovely bunch of staff finish off what is a totally pleasurable experience.

Called in here for lunch between our daughters skating sessions over the road. Fantastic service food was freshly prepared and very very tasty. We will be back

Having heard about this Coffee House from friends, we stopped for a quick breakfast bap which was filling and tasty. We had a ‘guest coffee’ (recommended by staff) to go with the bap and that also tasted great. The staff where friendly and very polite. To finish off we had a warm banana and chocolate cake, I would go back just to get the cake alone!

This is definitely the place to go for a fresh, tasty sandwich. Forget the meal deals pay the little bit extra and get it fresh. This was my first visit for food (coffee’d before) and the chicken pompodore sandwich was mouth watering! Hubby has pulled pork and couldn’t say enough good things about it. Will be going back for sure!
