Delicious fish and chips and mushy peas. Good portions at reasonable prices. Our first but not our last visit.

Whilst most of the food is tolerable, even good in some cases, the ridiculous wait for what is essentially "fast food" is ridiculous. Nothing gets cooked in preparation for a lunchtime "rush" and I've had faster delivery in a sit-down restaurant. I personally find it insulting that staff talk in a foreign language when there are English speaking customers, in England, waiting for food. I happen to speak some foreign languages, and if you think foreigners are NOT making jokes at your expense in their own language - think again!!

I come to this place very often and I find that every single time, the staff work their magic! The burger meals are to die for and you have so many options to choose from, whether it’s the sauce or the salad. Everything is optional! They aren’t stingy with the portion sizes and the staff are very friendly. I recommend their pizzas, kebabs or just the classic fish and chips.

This fish n chip shop is really nice with lovely staff. The service is first rate . This time I chose the chicken burger with all the trimmings of salad. There was a choice of several different sauces to have in the bun. I chose garlic mayo...my only fault with it, I wasn't told that the bun was going to be white bread or given a choice of anything different but nevertheless it was good quality n it did taste really lovely ... The bun held Raw onion, 1 slice of tomatoes & 1 slice of cucumber and some lettuce, I was given the choice to opt out of all/any of it.. it was the best thing that I'd eaten in a very long time....Their pizza's are delicious in a choice of 9"or 12" n very well topped with a good choice of different toppings which they're happy to mix n match to your individual requirements.... The battered fish (cod)is a large portion n really lovely....The chips has always been beautifully cooked n taste lovely which they serve in different sized portions.... There is a good, fairly large menu and on a Tues &wed they provide a gluten free menu.... I would definitely recommend a visit as it's very clean. Has a friendly happy atmosphere with customer searing & it is very reasonably priced...they also take telephone orders...there is on street parking outside.

This little chippy shop has great food at descent prices. Our chips and fish are cooked after we ordered. Hot and fresh tasted fantastic. I highly recommend this shop to all fish and chips lovers.

The chips were hard like toenails,not plump chips,the battered sausage was tough,not nice and crispy,I could hardly cut it with my knife,won't be wasting my money there again

Rude workers, food was okay but not friendly staff, had a very bad atmosphere.

Lovely place, great chips, burgers, kebab, heard the pizzas were nice too.

First of all they forgot half the order. So when we went to eat it as a family it was cold and unedible, Second of all the quality of the cooking was big up to the standard as the scampi I ordered was burnt and the sausage was hard and dry. I will not be returning again. Not happy!

I go to many fish and chip shops because of the nature of my work travelling across Devon and Cornwall so I know where to go for the best. One of those is Honicknowle Fish And Chips who never fail to produce the best each time i go there. Always hot, good size portions and resonably priced. Highly recommended.

Came here with the family, absolutely loved it. The shop was stunningly clean! Their pizza was wayy better than Domino’s and Papa Johns put together!! Honestly put’s those 2 to shame. Fish and Chips are well done too. Compliments to the staff. I recommend either the Meat Feast or a classic margharita! 1000% should go and check it out!

Not sure what's going on but iv live in this area for many years now and never ever been disappointed with honicknowle chippy until lately the chips use to be AMAZING but now all you get is smaller portions the chips are a dark brown but still hard inside please whatever you are doing STOP and go back to how it used to be

Very disappointing today....this used to be a really good fish and chip shop. Waited 10 minutes for one portion of chips , that I thought were being cooked fresh, only to be given a portion of dry warmed up chips....we're definately not freshly cooked !!!!

Excellent Fish & Chips. All food in here of high standard. Had many of their dishes. Would highly recommend.

Pizza to die for!! Staff friendly and oh so helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you're in and around Honicknowle.

Getting worse every time I go there. Don't think I will bother anymore. Lost there way. Cold kebabs under cooked chips and oil taste old. This is now a upgraded review. Now it's been taken over it is alot better. Even would say its nicer than West Park fish and chips

Went for the first time in a while, apparently under new management. Food was fresh cooked and reasonably priced.whole family enjoyed it.

Daughter liked the sausage and chips. And she's pretty fussy! The pizza was also really good.

We use this Fish & Chip shop all the time, because the Fish & Chips are consistently good. The Staff and the Owner are very polite and friendly. I cannot fault this takeaway, they also do a great range of Pizza's which are also fantastic. Been let down so many times in the past with other establishments but like I said, this establishment is always good. Thank you. Alex :)

Absolutely disgusting. First visit and will be my last visit. Burger over cooked and dry, Only salad was lettuce no tomatoes no cucumber, The chips were dry. One of the worst take away's i have ever had

This was the best Chip shop in Plymouth but now under new management, (Dec 2020). All I can say now is what a shambles, they don't have a clue and can't get the simplest order right and even after keep checking the ticket (and I really mean checking it every few seconds) they still get it wrong. Oh Dear, such a shame.

Usually go to west park chippy but was in a rush and passing here so thought I would try here. Can honestly say the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had, I feel sick after eating. The chips had been cooked in oil that tasted days old and it was luke warm. Won’t try again.

Fish was nice and moist, batter nice and crisp but definitely not greasy, curry sauce was just nice and not strong or spicy and mushy peas lovely, highly recommend place to visit, staff are very friendly and polite, made to feel welcome well worth the visit

Not the biggest cod fan in the world but these guys knew how to make it taste great, the chips were well cooked and the service was great. I will return, i was also impressed to see the gluten free selection.

I was disappointed with their social distancing policy. Place was empty and sign stated two customer limit in shop. I ordered and as I waited outside, a customer came in to place her order. Then she continued to chat at the counter while her order was being prepared. As my food was being wrapped, the customer continued chatting, her mouth was just 2 feet away from my food. I'm sure I'm ok. It just made me very anxious. I hope in the future they'll keep customers away from chatting at the counter while wrappings other customer's orders. Other than that, staff was friendly and shop was very clean

Cosy cafe with relaxing atmosphere and slight industrial look. Has wriggle tin walls and eye catching decorations. Cheaper than the chain coffee shops and serve pints to the thirsty! Who wouldn't go for a drink whatever their hearts desire?

First time at the chip shop, the fish was huge, tasted lovely batter really crispy, portion of chips were a bit too much. Will definitely go here from now on.

Popped in for couple of portions of chips and some curry sauce and was greeted by a pleasant smiling face, was very quick in serving us wished us a hearty good bye, shop itself was very clean and you could see the kitchen which was spotless also...

Lovely cod, reasonable chips and great low prices. Also has the added benefits of seating with newspapers and magazines, and in the hotter summer weather, air conditioning, so you can sit in comfort whilst you wait for your meal to be freshly cooked.

The staff here are always friendly and very polite. The chips are well cooked. I visit this chippy often and have only had one bad meal that I can think off. You get plenty for your money and the food is always fresh. It has a good menu with plenty to choose from.

I always come here for my mother,bless her soul. She loves the fish and chips as do I,always freshly cooked. Nice and hot and tasty. Deffo recommended

This is in my opinion, the best fish & chip shop in Plymouth. The food is top quality, excellent portions & service is brilliant. We use this chippy regularly driving from Whitleigh to use it. Would strongly recommend.

The cod bites and chips are lovely. Just enough for me. The service is friendly from all staff members. I try to visit at least once per fortnight and I always get a friendly 'hello'. Keep up the good work.

Great family business, excellent food and service. Would like to see longer opening hours and gluten free option daily but over all just a great little chippy. Let's not forget the daily papers available to read while you wait.

5* quality food in a very clean shop. Food wasn't greasy and was still hot after a 20 minute drive home. Staff were very friendly.

All the food is cooked to order.. So always hot and not soggy.. Friendly staff and some of the best chips locally. Missing one star because it would be nice to be able to buy larger portions of chips

I love this chip shop! They serve gluten-free food for those that need it, and they have perfect chips and chicken nuggets. Brilliant, love going here! Customer service is also amazing, they have seats while you're waiting with newspapers and a TV. Great chip shop.
