Rhubarb Cafe & Tea Room in Gedling

I was at a function yesterday where Rhubarb had supplied the catering. The girls that delivered the food were lovely and very professional and punctual. The buffet was absolutely fantastic! and as I understand very reasonably priced. I can't recommend this business enough, and I will definitely be using them in the future.

Popular cafe with efficient and friendly staff. Food is always good and the cakes were fresh and a wide range to choose from. Pricing is quite affordable which means we get to visit here a little more regular. I noticed they also provide outdoor catering and I suspect they are very competitive.

Highly disappointed with my visit to your tearoom today - your youngest member of staff was doing a brilliant job, however the two other staff were extremely unprofessional and bullying her as she worked, questioning everything she did although she was completing tasks correctly. This being bad enough, infront of customers, the two staff I have mentioned also went to the side where the young staff member couldn’t see them and were clearly negatively talking about her. She went on about her job, however clearly shaken and in distress. This was extremely uncomfortable to watch and has ruined our day, so we can only imagine how the young girl must feel having to endure that in the workplace - it is plain wrong. We will not be returning and I hope something is done about this clear bullying in the workplace.

Called here today as saw it from the road and fancied a light lunch. Had a hot gammon roll and roasties - super fresh and tasty. Will be back!

This is a little gem in the village of Burton Joyce. On the main road through the village you could be excused for driving straight past but it is so worth your while to nip in! The staff are lovely and so helpful. The food is great. I had homemade quiche and salad which, quite frankly, was spot on. Quiche is freshly made that morning and the side salad was so much more than limp lettuce, a slice of tomato and a slice of cucumber! And proper tea! From a disabled visitor view the access is up a small step and I doubt if you would struggle unless in a wheelchair (there is outdoor seating with blankets if you need). The big bonus is that the loo is a disabled friendly loo which is a rarity in small cafes like this. Will definitely be back!

Stopped off at rhubarb for a full English whilst on my weekend dog walk. Excellent quality food and service. Thanks team, keep up the good work. I do like the new canopy out front. Keeps the rain off nicely when the dog's with me. Cheers,

Our favorite breakfast spot in the village. Just a shame its not accessible to wheelchairs. We eat out on the front, but this is weather dependent. Lovely staff.

Fantastic food & service it was for my husband's birthday, it was presented on two cake stands & a tray ,which added to the occasion, cleaned & returned next day , would highly recommend, thanks to all the team 👍

The location may not be the ideal for that village cafe feel but the rest is perfect. a comfortable interior with good seating, excellent service form welcoming and efficient staff and great coffee and cake. The menu stretches to more and everyone should find their ideal breakfast, lunch or snack here to eat in or outside or to take away. The location means the outdoor seating on the pavement or on the grass beside a road that has a steady flow of traffic is not ideal. Do not be put off as the cafe is excellent.

Had been told about the Cafe so made a point of visiting whilst walking in the Bulcote area. Lovely cup of tea and great cakes to choose from. Friendly and efficient staff we will be back. Thank you,

Salmon & poached eggs, a veggie breakfast (with grilled Hallumi!), and a toddler having egg on toast, All was perfect, 😁 10 out of 10, great start to the day, Thank you team Rhubarb! Place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

So my 70th Birthday was during Lockdown. The two of us were going to make our usual meals together, nothing special! Then a friend told us about the Rhubarb doing catering, for special teas. So we rang them. They made a wonderful tea, including a three tier birthday cake. We were able to invite three friends, all social distancing but gathered around beautifully displayed cakes, sandwiches, scones, jam and cream. Absolutely delicious The delivery was exactly when they said and they collected their three tier display plates later, no fuss. We recommend the Rhubarb Cafe and Tea Room.

Had a bus ride to Burton Joyce & called in Rhubarbs tea room for my dinner the staff were vary hospitable & polite the food was vary nice the place ws vary clean.

We popped in here today for a bit of lunch. It was our first time and we were greeted by friendly staff. There is seating indoors and outside. They do a good selection of hot and cold food. We ordered two panini’s and two coffees. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and drinks. Was very nice and will definitely visit again.

Visited this lovely little tea shop today for the first time. What a wonderful find.The choice of food was good as was the service. It was most certainly value for money. We had the special of beef stew which came with mash, peas and broccoli. The mash was very tasty and the veg cooked just right. There was plenty of meat in the stew which was also full of vegetables and all for only £6.50. You can pay a lot more for less at many other establishments.Will be returning

Sue and her team were recommended to me to cater for my wife's Birthday party and boy what a great spread they did. I didn't want to cater for 100 guests myself so I needed to get someone in , a couple of phone calls later what did we want and when, and they did it for me. Absolutely Brilliant spread with plenty of home made sandwiches and cakes . If you are looking for quality caterers this is the place. Thank you very much from Rob and Alison Farrell Bingham .

Love the cafe's atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and a pleasure to deal with and the food is always so tasty and great value. Love the big mugs of tea too.Worth a visit for just a sandwich right up to a home cooked meal... Followed by a tasty treat of something sweet.

Visited a few times previously as its in a perfect location for the playpark when out with the kids and came again this Saturday during a very busy lunch. Despite this, staff were friendly and welcoming.As always, large selection of fillings to choose from and portions where plentiful. My partner always goes for the full English when visiting as he says they're the best in the area. We enjoyed our meals very much, thank you.

This small tea room is a little cramped. Food is ok, not much of a choice of sandwiches and rolls! Cakes are nice.When we walked in all the tables were empty of people, but full of crockery and mess! We had to ask for our table to be cleared and wiped clean. Staff should really be on top of this, even when busy as it doesn't give a good impression if someone is using it for the first time, as was 3 of my party!!

Seen the cafe many a time on passing so thought would give it a try. Very disappointing. The panini had hardly any filling at all. Also noted that on waiting, they were obviously running out of the tuna mayo mix, so it was bulked up with extra mayo. The portion sizes of the other meals seen going out was also small. They need to check their customers. If it’s an elderly old lady who eats a portion like a 5 year old, then that’s fine. If you are serving a normal active adult, then you need to adjust accordingly. Will not be returning.

We were organising a funeral reception, and the venue showed us a list of caterers who had been used by others at the venue. So we went to the Rhubarb Tea Room and had a light lunch. This was very fresh and tasty, so we decided to book them. During our conversation they could not have been more helpful in sorting out our requirements. Every one enjoyed the food that was served, with a lot wanting to know who the caterers were. They delivered food, plates etc. to the venue and collected afterwards. Certainly would recommend and use again.

I am posting this review on behalf of my wife, who visited the Rhubarb tea rooms with her friends today,she said that the afternoon tea was excellent, the scones and all the cakes were home made, the cakes included, lemon drizzle, victora sandwich, rocky road, chocolate cake, blueberry scones and cheese scones with a selection of sandwiches, my wife makes excellent scones but she said that they were better than hers, so they must have been good! She will definetly go back and would highly recommend the café, great service and lovely food at a really good price.

Went for a walk to Burton Joyce & called in Rhubarb café for my dinner the staff were vary helpful and polite the presentation was first class & the food was vary nice & the café was vary clean will call a gain!.

What a find! First visit there. Stumbled upon it when our original venue was closed. Welcoming atmosphere, nice staff, great breakfasts and lovely drinks. Wholeheartedly recommend this café 👍🏻

We wanted to celebrate Mum's 91st birthday and chose Rhubarb mainly because of its great reviews on here. I can tell you they are fully justified! I suppose we are about ten miles away but it would be worth coming further.

Go to Burton Joyce for a walk & call in Rhubarb café for my dinner it is excellent and the service is first class food is good value for money.

We booked afternoon tea for 13 friends and family to celebrate an 89th birthday. The afternoon tea was excellent, all home made cakes, sandwiches and scones, all freshly made and in vast quantity. The cafe offers a wide range of hot drinks and we opted for additional prosecco to make the occasion extra special. This cafe is such a great find and so reasonably priced, I highly recommend a visit.

It was our first trip to the Rhubarb Cafe. The breakfast was excellent and the service was great. The food is also great value for money. Highly recommend.

We asked Rhubarbs to cater a lunch for 15- Sue was brilliant - really helpful and friendly. She did us a beautiful beef stew and fish pies all of which was really delicious and amazing value for money. Delivered to the door piping hot. Would highly recommend them!

So brilliant to be able to have frothy milky vegan hot chocolate & coffee. Nice cornflake tart. Cheerful, colourful décor & nice farmhouse kitchen type furniture. Light, airy & clean. Handy for the library & shops in Burton Joyce.

Visited Rhubarb for lunch today with my sister-in-law (a Burton Joyce resident). From the moment of our arrival, we were greeted warmly and there ensued much talk of the food on offer. So many home-made delicacies - so difficult to choose, but we decided upon the Pea & Ham Soup. Just amazingly tasty and satisfying on a miserable November day. Thank you ladies! I shall definitely be back, with other friends to boost your clientele.

I have been a couple of times for my dinner the service was vary good & vary Hospitable & the Presentation was first class & is vary clean the food was vary nice and the staff are vary friendly and helpful!.

I used this company for a party at my home and they were excellent, Sue couldn’t have been more helpful, she catered for 50 + people, food was great as well as the delivery, presentation, and removal of equipment etc. Highly recommended.

I have visited on several occasions with family. Very welcoming and friendly staff, the whole place is of a very high standard of cleanliness.

I live in the village of Burton Joyce and this was the first time I had visited the Tea Room and was quite impressed. Nice inside and warm and the service was very good and the food excellent and very reasonably priced. Would certainly recommend. I had the omelette which was delicious and you had the choice of a few fillings. They also do breakfast which looked good too.

We visited this cafe/ tearooms whilst out walking the nearby river Trent - we received a genuine friendly welcome to the spotlessly clean premises

This place is popular with a few of my Facebook friends so decided to give it a go. Went with my wife and our next door neighbor who are both very fussy about their food. We were not disappointed. We all had something different and was freshly cooked and was delicious. Must try their Paninis next time as I love paninis. Highly recommend

Despite other reviews on here, I have to react. The breakfast is second to none! Well sauced local sausage, tried and tested for years in previous business, tasty bacon. Beans are Hienz and tomatoes Italian, very tasty breakfast indeed. I will return.

Great food served with a large smile. Lovely china , varied menu and nothing too much trouble. Easy parking outside for our disabled friends too.

Stopped off on the way to a business meeting for a breakfast. Lovely service and good coffee. A very decent English Breakfast - although I would have preferred fresh tomatoes

Went to this cute little tearooms for breakfast which to be honest, although reasonably priced was not the best. The bacon and sausage were of decent quality but the rest of the ingredients were cheap. The tomatoes were like tomato purée , the beans rather tasteless, and the eggs not cooked as we requested.

Called in one morning for a Full English breakfast and was rather disappointed.

Made the trip out to Burton Joyce before travelling down to Twickers with a few guys. Decided to get breakfast out instead of at home. Rhubarb was open and provided the best breakfast I've had for a long time. Full English, bacon n egg roll, toast and great coffee was the perfect start for a day of rugby and drinking and was very reasonably priced.

Mostly home made food or at least of good quality. Good for breakfast and lunch. Nice decor. Friendly owner and staff.

Nice little tearoom, cakes and breakfasts available. On this occasion I had a breakfast and it was "ok" for the price.

Popped in on a flying visit, friendly staff and great selection of food, I just settled for some home made cake and a flat white which were excellent. Will definitely be back to try out the breakfast.

This is a lovely little tea room. Cakes are gorgeous. Staff friendly. Also between 9 and 11am you get a free refill on hot drinks.

I visited with friends for morning coffee and we were warmly welcomed and well looked after. It is on the main road through the village and changed hands a little while ago. Cheerful service. Good unpretentious coffee. Home made cake. Light lunch dishes and takeaway service. Convenient place to stop for a snack.

We visited here yesterday for a snack. I had a sausage and cheese Panini which was really tasty. My partner had a big scone with jam and cream. He said it was the tastiest scone he had ever had. The cakes look really nice and enough to choose from off the menu.
