Rhu Bar in Basingstoke and Deane

Lovely little underrated bar!! Really friendly staff, Ben stood out to me was so nice and chatty. 10/10 would recommend to anyone bored with the naff bars in Basingstoke!!

Love the atmosphere here and the staff are so friendly and welcoming! They make a huge selection of amazing cocktails, and throw the best disco/house music nights where there is always a huge turnout and the DJ’s are fantastic! Proud regular customer @ The Rhu Bar

Attend the rhu bar this evening and asked for a Guinness when poured was told it was the first of the night and wasnt great so asked for another better pour but taste was off and bitter ask if I could just swap for a cola but was told I would be charged after not drinking any of my pint, pour knowledge of Guinness and pour customer service wouldn't recommend Guinness from here at all.

Not busy so was easy to get a table and drinks from the bar. Music didnt do it for me though. But was still nice to chill with a group of friends

Holy moly Basingstoke has turned into a dive.

This place used to be full, but like most other bars nowadays, it was pretty empty. The bar staff were not coming across as the most welcoming and the atmosphere was nigh on non-existent. The doorman was a good laugh though.

Ella, , tyla and Edie, were honestly the most amazing bartenders,. They were phenomenal

Quirky place with little spaces on different levels with the main bar area being spacious. Generally a "grown up" crowd with a nice atmosphere. Good bar with a selection that you don't find in the large chains. They have some interesting cocktails too. It's one of the few places that's stood the test of time at the top of town.

Brilliant night out, lovely friendly bar staff made fab cocktails and shots and played the best music. Will definitely be going back.

Quiet bar for after-work or a beer before dinner. Relaxed and very comfortable atmosphere. If you want to avoid the. Screaming teenagers, Rhu Bar is your place.

Compact bar usually frequented by a more mature set. Good choice of beers and laid back music selections

A nice place to go out with friends. Affordable prices. There's a small dance floor downstairs, and you can talk upstairs.

Every time I end up here I wonder why, it's to y, it's noisy and it's packed. It's got a short bar and a bunch of people who insist on sitting by it so actually getting served is nigh on impossible..

Should you ever be walking past and find it open your lucky closed more than open I've given up wasting my time going just to find it closed

DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR BUSINESS! The man in the middle of the photo is the "Owner". This "owner" tried to force a St Johns Ambulance and A&E nurse to move an unconscious woman who had hit her head because she "was blocking people getting in". Getting punters through the door is a greater concern than the well-being of a vulnerable person in a potentially critical condition, and got violent and aggressive when he was called out for it. (I was driving, so no alcohol fuelled emotions from my side, just disbelief a human and bar owner can act like that). bragging about having 18 years experience and how HE WAS IN CHARGE, bloke couldn't charge a phone! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Meh, nothing special, but still better than other places in Basingstoke.

Should be renamed RHU-DE Bar!!!!! The owner of this venue has not a clue about customer satisfaction nor does he care. Having been on a two occasions before without cause for upset, my partner and i visited to watch the CL Final between Real Madrid v Liverpool on the 26th May 18. Once in my partner went to the bar for drinks whilst i searched for a suitable place to sit and view the match, although it wasn't busy at all, most seats/tables had been reserved by those sitting at them. Due to this i decided to pull a small corner table 3 feet to the left for a more comfortable vantage point for watching the TV. It was at this point you would have thought i had started WWIII, a man came flying over gobbing off about having no respect and i should not move tables unless i asked the staff. So I asked him did he work here and and he said " no, i'm the owner" (which I'm pretty sure still means you work there). After telling me a few more times he's the owner i asked him could i move the tables and he said no. Finally got a table sorted and unfortunately my girlfriend had ordered drinks (pino griggio was off, which she asked about and got nowhere) otherwise we would have left straight away. We swiftly drank up and left. TOP TIPS FOR THE FUTURE MR RHU-DE BAR OWNER 1. Approach customers with an attitude that is welcoming and co-operative,not abrasive. 2. I suggest you send yourself on a Hospitality training course. 3. Stop repeating you' re the owner…..we get it!!!! 4. The customers are sometimes right……….A dash of lemonade to brighten up a poor quality Pino Grigio should be made welcome,not a £2.50 charge for a glass of lemonade. 5. If there is a major sporting event on, do not play music over the top of the commentary, its quite amateurish! So take on board these simple tips Mr Rhu-de Bar Owner and i guarantee that your bar will be as busy as the rest of the bars at the top of the town. Just to finish off, i have never had cause to complain or leave a negative review in 20 yrs of socialising. Adrian and Michelle

Having been to this bar quite a few times in the past and had pretty fun times with friends it's such a shame to have to give bad feedback. Unfortunately I don't think I will ever visit again. Having had cause to complain about a drink as they served dregs of wine from 2 bottles, bar staff weren't interested and accused of getting in staff face after barely saying 6 words when trying to complain (noisy so leaned across bar to be heard). One member of the bar staff was so aggressive and threatened to get bouncer to remove from the bar - obviously don't care about customer satisfaction. Staff definitely need some kind of training.... One place where the customer is obviously never right, shame on you and your customer care! I suggest you keep on walking and find a more friendly bar to chill in - it's the only power customers have - go where you are treated well and not ripped off!

Always a laugh in Rhubar, sometimes when it’s busy you feel that it can be a bit tight for space but it only adds to the atmosphere. Bar staff are friendly and always have a laugh. Can watch Football, Rugby and other sporting events.

The bar itself is ok'ish, drinks are pretty expensive & have to spend minimum of £10 for card purchases. My biggest gripe.....the downright rude, obnoxious & big headed doorman that threatened to kick me up & down the street because I questioned him (politely) regarding the footwear I was wearing, practically jumped down my throat....sorry Rhu bar you've lost me as a customer & I'll let people know what sort of door staff your employing!

I had a nice quiet drink here with my brother. Considering it was a busy Friday night in the rest of the town that was really enjoyable. Good atmosphere and good music without being over powering. I'd definitely return.

SHITTEST PLACE I have ever been in Basingstoke! It seemd nice when we arrived, all chilled. Then they would not let in a friend because he had trainers which half of the bar was wearing. GUYS AT THE DOOR create their own rules, they think they are god. Hope my feedback gets to a lot of people, this guys are just rude to some... Good luck on that!
