Went during happy hour, very nice drinks and excellent service.

Abi was our server and she was fantastic. We had a group of six for bottomless and the service was efficient and polite too. Food was great and the drinks were better. Give Abi a great well done

We came here as part of a third party booked Hen Do - we had a two course meal booked along with a drink. The drinks were left on a side table near our seating area and were all warm, so it felt as though they had been there for a while - all uncovered, which was slightly concerning! Our food came quite quickly. However, the burgers were luke warm, burnt, and a bit tough as if they had been left under the heat lamp for a while. Pizzas were good, as well as the katsu curries. We went up to the bar to get more drinks - one lovely waiter served us before he clocked off and then the second time we were told to sit down and order online - though no QR or menus were available. One of the party went back up to the bar and we then managed to get served there from then onwards. The atmosphere was good, music going on and some other larger groups doing cocktail making. Unfortunately, the food and service let it down - Revs used to be brilliant a few years ago. It felt as though everything was double the price for less of the product!

Bouncers were aggressive and rude, they started on my friend at the door because he didn’t have a student ID and ended up shoving him out of the queue and into the road with no concern for his safety.

Food and drinks are on the pricey side for the quality. But the £3 lunch meal was great value if they bring it back or had something in line with an affordable lunch meal permanently then would go to 5 stars. Overall a good spot to go in York. Large venue so it's rare that you won't get seated or at least find a spot on busier days.

Had after tea there, food was amazing, there was lots of it and it's great value. Love the decor.

Wouldn't go crazy about it. Ordered some drinks, there was a few things they didn't have so my friend had to have something else and it was rather pricey for the size of the glass. The toilets were also not very clean. I wouldn't want to visit at the weekend, if this is what it was like midweek, with a steady flow of customers. The main thing, was the cleanliness, had this have been better overall, we probably wouldn't have been so fussed about not being able to get the cocktail we wanted. But it all adds up.

We used a voucher for afternoon tea and we couldn't fault it from speaking to someone on the phone and booking via email to the staff on the day. Staff were very attentive and the food was excellent we would definitely recommend and return.

Went for bottomless brunch on The 23/1/24 and the food and drinks were amazing and they were just amazing as our waitresses service called Georgina (big shout to her), she was so friendly and welcoming and explained the drink choices extremely well. Georgina is a real credit to revolution :)

Bag of nails. Place completely dead. Still were not acknowledged by the staff within 5 mins who were obsessed with making an order for someone that must have ordered via the app. A complete and order bag of nails with rude staff!

Had a great time here. Afternoon tea was unusual and lovely. Food was excellent as were cocktails. Friendly helpful staff and the atmosphere was upbeat and fun.

The strawberry waffle with 1 strawberry and ice-cream was delivered at same time as the cheeseburger. The waitress would not delivery it later so it was a cold soggy mess when we started eating it. The vanilla cheesecake was lumpy and had no taste to it. All in all not worth it.

We booked afternoon tea which included a cocktail…. Brilliant value. Staff were pleasant, great atmosphere with good music playing. My only negative is the disabled toilet is not really designed for a wheelchair user. It was camouflaged with the wall decoration and had a large table adjacent to it blocking access. We had to ask a group at the table to move so we could get to it. They were lovely and helped to open the very stiff door…. No way could a wheelchair user do this on their own. This did not spoil our visit and we would certainly return.

Very disappointing visit . If we knew we were going to be dumped in the corner because you were fully booked with Christmas parties we wouldn’t have wasted our voucher. Was given non alcoholic beers by accident and couldn’t change them and the burgers were tough as old boots

Went a few weeks ago for a bottomless brunch and it was great, the waitress was so good and attentive! lots of drinks and great food. Because of this i decided to take my daughter for dinner late afternoon. Went to a window table but it had a few dirty glasses on. Went to order food but the barman didn’t know what drink went with the meal deals. I was told i could have several drinks but then told i couldn’t as it wouldn’t go through on the till. I had to keep trying to confirm with him what could i actually have. It took 15 minutes to order two meals and two drinks. My daughter had pizza which was great. I ordered avocado and halloumi wrap. The food came but the table was still full of empty glasses and they were not removed. The table next to us was having a bottomless brunch and the waitress was there all the time so i asked her to take the glasses as i didn’t want to look at them while eating. She did take as many as she could carry but the rest were left there. Food would have been great, but i had no avocado in the wrap which was disappointing and it had been really uncomfortable, when ordering the meal so didnt like to say anything, and wasn’t asked if it was okay anyway. It was really quiet and i saw about at least 5 different staff but looked as though they were just chatting, except the girl serving the table next to us. Someone could have cleared the table, its not great looking at dirty glasses while eating. It’s a cheap meal deal, but probably wouldn’t recommend to go there unless you were on a bottomless brunch which is really good. Weatherspoons is probably better .

Garbage. The reason I gave poor, but honest review whilst in your pub yesterday was 4 fold, bar staff got our order wrong, lager was flat (knew it was going to be when your staff were swilling it round whilst poring it to try and get a head on it), then when our luke warm nachos arrived, you forgot to add the topping I upgraded to, by time you added the chilli beef and brought it back, it wasn't pleasant. At least I got mine, my daughter and her boyfriend didn't even get their order. Hope this post helps you address some basics errors, so your future guests enjoy a visit to your pub.

Not a bad bar, it's frustrating getting dead eyes and bad attitude from the staff but there we go. Typically not cheap either

We booked an afternoon tea with cocktail or Prosecco here through a 'buy a gift' voucher and had booked a week in advance, in person, because it wasn't possible to do it online. When we arrived we were kept waiting too long while they verified our voucher. We were warned we might not be able to have a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian because the chef might not like to do both but he must have agreed that it was ok. We were eventually brought mini burgers with goujons and chips, not at all what we were expecting but they were quite tasty. The desserts were promised to be exceptional but they were actually disappointing, the bulk being a waffle covered in sugar with a measly portion of ice cream, far too dry. When we asked about the drink we were told they would have to check as it was usually a pot of tea apparently but they, rather reluctantly it appeared, gave us a 'shot' rather than a cocktail or Prosecco. The whole experience through 'buy a gift' and 'Revolution' was pretty awful and not to be recommended.

Visit on November 14, 2022 for an evening of beverages and light fare with a number of friends. Do note that this is a 'cashless' location. Food was excellent and there was a solid beverage selection. Staff were prompt with orders and friendly. Outdoor seating available. House with the Yorkshire Herald Building adjacent to the Pilot Theatre and City Screen Picturehouse / LOL Comedy Club. No Cash / only interact / credit card.

£9.40 for a single amaretto and cranberry. Gave the barman £10. He came back from around the corner with 15p. Just goes to show they make the prices up if it's cash and try to give you wrong change expecting you to be drunk. Shoddy.

Magic, elegant, cool, fashioned, nice as location, good deal menu and drinks, no complaints for the position on the city, just the music, for me is too load as volume, I believe should be better have a chat with your group and have nice music like they have but on background nicely.

Amazing food and amazing prices! We got the meal deal that’s from Sunday to Friday and it couldn’t have been better! I ordered a pizza Margherita with extra mushrooms and they even swapped the normal cheese for vegan cheese when I asked. My pizza and my drink was a total of just £7,5! An amazing deal for sure. Good music (although maybe a bit lower would’ve been better), good service and great food. I highly recommend for everyone (and especially vegan people since you have many options!)

This was an exciting bar to visit with my friend, welcoming us right away through wall lights and posters! The decor is grand and counter is flashy, outside is very nice with views of York along the river. The staff were friendly and we experienced blue raspberry shots, priced at around £2 each!

Abi is absolutely fabulous, the girls behind the bar (Darcey&Lily) were amazing at drinks!! And Alice is wonderful we never went without a drink. The best girls ever 🩷🩷🩷

Stopped doing 241 in york on Saturday's, unlike other revs... Also over half the of drinks they cannot make as they have no stock of drinks!!!!!! This is a bar!!!!!!!!

We went in the afternoon really enjoyed it. Spoilt by drunken women who were loud and harassing customers 🙄. The landlord quickly asked them to leave.

Myself & friends regularly come across to York and visit here. The bar staff and security were always really nice and welcoming and I’ve never seen any trouble. But this past few weeks it’s just been awful. Stroppy and overly friendly bouncers who just seem to be eyeing up every female in there. Don’t feel one bit safe and lots of fights and kicking off which we never used to see. There used to be a couple of big guys on the front door and they seemed to have it sorted but the little bald headed guy now is a sleaze as are most of the others. Such a shame cos the bar is lovely on a sunny day especially and the bar staff are always lovely, but it’s just somewhere me and my friends say it’s become a bit of a time bomb with the atmosphere waiting for bother. Please sort it out as we LOVE your cocktails

I bought my mother a buyagift voucher for Christmas, which was the tea for two option at Revolution. We finally got around to booking it which was a complete hassle. There was absolutely no way to enter the voucher code whilst booking from the website, so we wrote an email. They replied promptly the first time asking us for our voucher details which we provided right away. After we didn’t receive a reply for a few days, we wrote a second email… then a third… then a fourth… no reply… so naturally we called the phone number. It rang for a few seconds then went to voice mail, so I left my details and requested a call back. I phoned multiple times and no one ever answered or even called me back. Finally, after a few more days, someone called back and booked us in. Upon arrival, the ONLY good thing about this place was the lovely lady who greeted us and took us to our table. I ordered a tea which I literally NEVER received. By the end, I couldn’t even be bothered asking why or requesting it again. The food took ages to arrive and people who came to the restaurant after us kept receiving their orders before we did… The meal consisted of ONE tiny burger each which had zero flavour, 2 tiny pieces of fried chicken which might as well have not been on the table, small portion of fries, and waaaaay too many desserts. We could only eat one of the puddings as it would be way too sickly. The food was bland, the desserts were okay but incredibly dry. We ordered a cocktail each which was seemingly going to never arrive - much like my tea - but we had paid over £10 for these so we went to the bar to ask why. This issue was resolved and seemed to be an error receiving the order from the app. Genuinely, the only good thing about this place was the one member of staff who greeted us.

Abbie was amazing during our bottomless brunch and kept us topped up with drinks! Food was substantial but drinks were really nice and we tried the whole drinks menu!

Initially it was the worst experience I have had for a bottomless brunch. The staff member states that “head office” have brought in new rules such as not allowing Prosecco when first arriving as we have ordered a drink which took some time. The food came and we were unaware of the new changes from head office stating that you had to pay extra for anything such as chips with your burger which were extremely small portions. The drinks were taking a long time To come and they would not allow us to order any drinks whilst we had a drink. We mentioned to the staff that we had never experienced such bad service for a brunch before and we were able to speak to a fantastic member of staff who is a credit to the company. This was Amy! Amy listened to our concern and we were about to leave the bar but Amy turned it around and provided service above and beyond what we could have asked for. The trip was saved by Amy who then attended to us for the rest of the visit and ensured that we were provided with exceptional service! Revolution need more people like Amy working for them as it was clear that Amy cared about the customer compared to the other staff that worked for within the bar. We left extremely happy with the service from Amy compared to a shocking start.

The best bartenders of the night Sakshi and Rajeev served me . Hands down one of the best experience I had in York.

My wife booked an afternoon tea for us both for a birthday treat. What a great place, and great service. Angel our waitress looked after us theoughout our visit and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great and well worth the money, especially the free birthday cocktails. The service is second to none though, which for me is more important than the food. Thanks for making our visit and my birthday a great afternoon Angel. We most definitely will be back.

Nice location by the river Ouse. Clean, pub and a fair bit of space inside. There wasn't much atmosphere, but we did visit on a Tuesday lunchtime, so not exactly prime time! I think they were having IT gremlins the day I was there, as they couldn't serve us on two occasions due to the tills being down. They suggested ordering on their app, but having downloaded the app, it turns out you can't make any amendments to food orders on there. Eventually, I ordered at the bar and tried to take advantage of their lunch deal (drink and food £6.95) to be told £35 which didn't sound right for 2 of us, even with a couple of extras. Turns out only a couple of beers available on the lunch deal, which it doesn't say on the menu, and they didn't make us aware of until I questioned the cost!!

Sherene welcomed us on our arrival and was an absolute delight she explained the menu and offers and couldn't have been more helpful. Smiling and polite and its refreshing to see someone enjoying been at work. The food was delicious, will defo be coming back....

Staff were incredibly attentive. Especially Angel, who looked after us all day; she was amazing. The bar staff Laura, Mia and Perry were great! Abi ensured that everything ran smoothly and the whole brunch was brilliant - we will absolutely return!!
