Friday night, too loud to talk at all but food was lush

We visited Revolución de Cuba on Saturday night to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and the team made our evening perfect! Everyone was amazing. Food was phenomenal, for both a meat eater and a vegetarian. Cocktails 10/10. We will 100% be visiting again. Also loved the photo booth upstairs 💙

If you like attempting to eat a sit down meal in the middle of a nightclub dance floor you will love it. For me this place didn't know what it wanted to be. A restaurant or a club. Food was good but portions were tiny. Music was so loud you couldn't make yourself heard across a table. Very strange place and a big pass from me.

Did the bottomless brunch, it was mostly really good but service could be pretty slow so getting a refill was hard. That being said, I was able to pester them enough to get plenty of drinks but I think they might be watered down. I was ordering the Wray and Nephews cocktails and didn’t really feel a buzz at the end which seems odd! The food was pretty good and the venue is really nice.

When I am in Reading I normally eat here. Monday evening was a real disappointment. When I arrived the waiter working the floor said I could choose my table, I said I would get a drink from the bar first. The young barman appeared to be running a training course and it was impossible to get his attention, although I think he knew I was waiting. I waited for about 8 minutes and 2 other customers came to the bar, with no service I left. The barman should teach his audience that sales are important and to always recognise waiting customers. Shame, will not be back

The place plays very loud & out of tune music which was ~90Db. This music could be OK only for those who is deafened by being drunk.

This is actually a nice place. The food was really good. The service was great. Actually the cocktails were pretty great too if you like rum. Would recommend 👌

Very empty but it was a Monday afternoon. Food was okay and the drinks were good but service wasn't very good.

A great place to chill with good vibes. Live music followed by a DJ who played some great music with a south American twist. Loved it.

Wonderful experience at Revolution de Cuba. The customer service was exceptional. Tried the quesadillas and tropical chicken skewers which tasted wonderful. Highly recommend the place if you want to chill with a big group or a just catch up with some friends

Honestly bottomless brunch is not worth it. Took nearly 60 mins to get a second drink. For the price of the bottomless brunch better off just buying a drink and meal, it would be cheaper and probably more efficient.

Had a cracking time great fun. Will definitely be going back.

I was there last night, Saffy is the very best bar women in Cuba and one of the best in town, quickly and efficiently with the orders, tks. Will come back certainly.

Our service from a young lady with blonde hair was great (didn’t catch her name!) although there didn’t seem to be enough people working tables to help her. Cocktails were lovely, unfortunately my meal had all of the potential … none of the execution. I had a sunshine bowl and paid £3 extra to add chicken, luckily 😅 Sounded delicious with roasted sweet potato, roasted red pepper ect but all served fridge cold :/ sweet potato was hard, plantain unenjoyable like that and overall disappointing. Chicken well seasoned and tasty tho! I would take it overall as inspiration for home cooking. Wanted to flag down the lady to have it banged in the microwave at least but she was quite busy bless her. Would recommend getting something else off the menu.

Very nice bar with good service, music and fantastic selection of cocktails and beers. The location is very great in the middle of the town with good connection for bus lines.

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant. The Cuban recipes are very good and the service here is very good. It is worth coming again. This is my third time here and I brought different friends.

You can get same quality food in spoons

Came in on a Thursday night around 7pm. Staff had no idea what was going on or where to sit us. The music was too loud to be able to properly communicate with the waiter. The food was mediocre at best and came out randomly timed leaving our group unable to eat all together

Not recommended if you want to go out and dance to any kind of Cuban/Latin/Spanish music, me and my friends were very disappointed when the DJ explained that he was not allowed to play any Latino music but instead was playing some sort of house music? Have been going to this place for years for the atmosphere/music, doubt if I will go back? Doesn't have USP anymore

Was a quiet Monday when we went in but it was great. Our hosts Shaun and Jay were very good, I can't recommend them enough. Amazing cocktails, great food. Recommended. Edited to fix a typo which is why this seems newer than the response.

Great time here running a flower crown workshop

We had the best experience doing the cocktail masterclass for my sisters hen do. The staff were amazing and so helpful. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the bartender who did our masterclass but he was great and the staff member who checked us in on the front desk was lovely too. We will definitely be back. 100% recommend.

Ran out of gas, so couldn't pump beer on a Friday night, so ordered the only beer they said they had but that was flat, guess it used the same gas, so ordered 6 GnT's took over 20 mins to arrive. It was only 6.30pm. They also had 5 people and a manager behind the bar at the time and minimal customers.

Have just found this place today. Ambience is fantastic for a day time coffee while you work. Staff was really nice and quick to bring over my order. Will update after food but couldn't wait to write a review to recommend this hidden treasure of Reading. Edit: I had a simple lunch for my first time and just went for the Cuban burger- a take on the traditional cuban sandwich I assume. The portion size was huge for lunch but where the chips are kept separate it was not overwhelming and tasted amazing. I really recommend trying the rum mayo and look forward to trying some different options next time. Food was brought in very good time. I finished off with a cafe cubano, which was very good. Once again I really recommend this place for a daytime lunch or coffee and work place. Lastly they give an option to tip 10%, you can scan a qr code to tip more- which i did as it was well deserved

Planned a work hen do here (Revs- Reading). It’s was great. One member of staff in particular pulled out all the stops including, sparklers, confetti, shot limbo and more. We so appreciated the hospitality.

Awful dishwater 'cappuccino', very average food, member of staff very almost poured fresh hot coffee over my newborn's head.

Funny machine on entrance which is tighter than airport security. A shame about the shape and colour of the actual edge of the bar: have seen many a full cocky slide down the parabolic edge into the abyss. Poor staff quick with a dusty pan for quick-qleaning. Great staff.

we order several dishes and coctails, after waiting almost half an hour only half of it was delivered. we have to remind the waiter and even go to the bar ourselves more than 4 times to get the rest of our drinks. we had to change our selection 3 times due to items not being available time and time again. Some of the food was specified by the waiter that "it was sent to another table by mistake" and we had to wait for them to make it from scratch. very unplesant experience, some people from our group had food but no drinks and some other were drinking while watchikg the rest eat. Also when we arrived to the table there were no cuttlery at all, not even when we received the food. And on top of everything when we finally got everything delivered we got approached by 2 different waiters 3 times to take away our dishes (which were at least half full) while we were still all eating. Very dissapointing visit, totally ruin the mood of our celebration.

Service wasn't the best, our tapas was given to us without plates, so the food was starting to go cold before we could start to eat. The staff took a while to clean tables after customers had finished or left. The food was tasty and good value.

Lovely place and awesome dance events upstairs

Scary looking bouncers on the door. I came here for dancing lessons and although I bought a tasty cocktail, I was led to believe that I wouldn't have been allowed to bring in a water bottle, which for someone post operative like me, could be a problem. No affordable parking anywhere nearby.

I was there for a salsa night. Amazing atmosphere, fun and people who enjoy dancing. Really loved it!

This is nice place near Reading Station. Good food, quick delivery, nice ambiance. It is big place to host large group as well. Nice decor to get you feel of being in island.

The ambience was really good to wind up and for a great long happy chats with friends. We also celebrated a friends birthday. Its like you can totally wind up in a corner with nice comfortable seating and private chats with your friends. Also when needed can go and socialize with others as well in the dance floor. We enjoyed the dance floor too much. The vibe was really great. We all had a nice time.

I was incredibly disappointed with my bottomless brunch. I actually emailed with a complaint about my experience last week and am yet to receive a response. The service was incredibly slow - especially for a bottomless brunch. We were sat for 20-30 minutes before our order was even taken as the waitress was setting up tables for other bookings. I’m not sure if there was a staffing issue and this was why, but we found it very hard to get anyone’s attention. We asked one waitress if they could take our order but they didn’t have a pen / notebook and then they never came back, so had to ask someone else. There was a discussion at elongating our bookings time frame due to the wait, which the server did nicely extend because otherwise we would have had under an hour of our bottomless brunch. At that time we had only had one bottle of Prosecco between 6 people. I had also stated on my booking that a member of our party was celiac and when the waitress took our order she claimed to not know and not have it against the booking. I had already confirmed this prior to my booking and have evidence of this confirmation, so they did know. Even about an hour into the brunch we had only had our welcome bottle of Prosecco and were still waiting on our drinks. Whilst the other tables around us had food and drinks brought out before ours, despite us being there for longer. In the end we just asked to stick to Prosecco, as making cocktails seemed to take too long and I was conscious of our booking at the next location. Even asking for still water was forgotten about and we had to wait a long time for this. I had asked for the bill at the end of our booking but after waiting 15 minutes no one came back so I had to go to the front desk and ask. We were wanting to talk about a discount due to poor customer service, but we were running out of time and needed to leave. This meant that I lost my deposit on our second location due to long waiting time. From start to finish of our booking it just felt like things were very difficult and the service was severely lacking. Over all the brunch was a really bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend or come back again. However I do appreciate that my booking was able to be pushed back from 2pm to 2.30 due to members of my party being affected by trains.

A group of us from work went to Revolución de Cuba to celebrate 2 birthdays we did the bottomless brunch. *We were a large party* They kept up well with the drinks and the orders of drinks. We received our welcome drinks at 16.05 when we arrived. No issues there but then the food came out and it was awful. It wasn't a meal if you order a classic burger and nothing like the pictures online show. Heavily disappointed when paying £30 plus then told we had to order chips separately they came out after some of us had eaten others did not because the bite of the burger wasn't great. Then we go to pay and they try charging £25pp for non alcoholic brunch and £35pp for the alcoholic one. Which was slightly more than we originally booked the table for. The online menu prices are wrong as they say £20pp and £32.50pp which I get isn't a lot more but the fact the food was inedible and unappealing you don't want to pay any more. I wouldn't go again, plus the atmosphere wasn't great it was only enjoyable because of the company we had around the table. *picture is of our sad burger who just needed friends that would eat it.* (Even kids burgers at mcdonalds get sauce and onions

It was still early, but the place was quiet and felt empty. Despite this, service wasn't great and included a 20 minute wait after asking for our bill. Tapas was decent though the wrong tomatoes used in the bread with tomatoes meant the bread had become soft and wet. Churros good, pasta del nata lovely, brownie very dry and neither of us are all of ours.

Coconut margarita disgusting. Old Guinness tasted like wood. Attitude of the bartenders very questionable. I won’t be back for sure.

Not so friendly staff, rushed experience and please don't add 'optional service charge' without mentioning it. Uncooked churros, absolutely white with raw dough inside - how do you even get that wrong ?! It was supposed to be a calm date with my wife, turns out take-away would have been better. Not going to step in there again for sure. PS: waitress doesn't know what a pale ale is, knowing your products and recommending to customers should be a second nature in restoration business.

Went for lunch. The food was OK and good value because we had a 50% off voucher- quite expensive without the discount. Service was terrible though, very slow and forgot one person's food. Seemed to need more staff.

Fantastic midweek evening spent enjoying good food in a great atmosphere! Came here with a friend & spent the first hour at the bar sampling the wide array of available cocktails which were all delicious. We were shown to our table by T who was attentive, with good humour whilst remaining professional. We chose 5 tapas which were incredibly tasty followed by churros with caramel sauce. The food, drink and ambience were all on point which made for a fab night! Special thanks to T for the great service. We'll be back!

Went in on a Saturday afternoon without a booking. 1:30pm, empty restaurant, refused to sit us . Offered us a table with high chairs when we were with a 91 year old lady. A “waitress” without an ounce of sympathy or whatever people that work in hospitality should have, took 5 minutes to find a table in the empty restaurant, then once sat they said they couldn’t serve food because they had bookings later. Isn’t that the purpose of a restaurant? Then served us a cold coffee, twice. The Margarita we had was good though. Being from the Spanish Caribbean myself this restaurant is a misrepresentation of our culture and a total cultural appropriation. Cuban people are not rude and unhelpful. Change your name or change your attitudes.

Against my better judgement I visited with a group of friends from work. I WAS WRONG!! It's brilliant. I didn't expect it to be 'my sort of place', but it's fantastic. The food was great and more plentiful than I'd anticipated, the beer good and the ice cream with coffee and rum will drag me back time and again. Obviously the company you're in makes the difference, but a terrific night was had by all, thanks also to the staff, where friendly and funny. All in all a wonderful (I'm running out of superlatives) evening.

Had a fantastic evening here for my works Christmas function. Food was fantastic, after that the rest of the night was a bit of a blur following the flowing rum and dancing. The following day my body ached so I must have had a brilliant time. Great location, great music and a dance floor that was pretty much wherever you wanted it to be.

I visited the city of Reading and stopped by to eat here, ordered the Beef Rapa Vieja for 12.5 pounds as a course menu and ordered 3 small plates, beef nachos tapas, so delicious, however, the albondigas were not to my liking, but In overall I will still have a 5 stars meal with good service and delicious food. Want to come back.

Dear Management, The situation is as follows, me and my partner come to your venue every Friday and Saturday and have done for over a year now we spend a lot of money at your premises and we are very compliant customers and bring no trouble to you with a socialist attitude. The complication here is for last few weeks we have been refused entry and the male door supervisor gives a rehursed reply every time saying " sorry the management won't allow folk like us in your premises for the run up to Christmas unless we have booked a table. Now just to inform to you that you have made us feel like objects of ridule. Now we should not have to feel like this. Now to resolve the issue can you practice better customer services pitches to your head doorman because to perfectly honest his rehursed reply saying to us management won't let folk like us in is a very disrespectful option to relay a message like this to contributing public like us who put money over the bar. I would welcome your feedback in the first instance. You as managing agents should see things are put rite. I now look forward to your reply. And by the way I have been a doorman at many night spots, and you will certainly learn something by this script of discourse I put to you. Your establishment have definitely handled us good paying customers in the wrong way. I believe you need to put things rite. We create revenue for you and this is how you treat us. I would not treat anybody like this. Remember the customer is always rite and behaviour breeds behavior.

The service was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Rude obnoxious staff that didn’t bother to even greet me after sitting down for over 20 mins. Absolutely awful all round. Like -10 if that was an option. Avoid at all costs if you want a good night!

Didn't even finish eating and they shove the bill down your throat. Food was so so, atmosphere good. Service slow. Don't think I'd come again, would like to try the one in Milton Keynes though

What a shambles. What a shame. Birthday party dinner, food was disappointing to say the least. Music was too loud. I wouldn't recommend this place if you wanted good food, a place to hold a conversation and then a bit of a dance. Eat and drink elsewhere, then come here later when the crowds turn up and it has a atmosphere to go along with the music

Very rude waiter making drinks.

They refused to give us the menu they told us we would get for a birthday. The manager (bald one) was very rude and looked like he wanted us to leave, so we did. The star is for the happy hour and the other waiters, they were nice.

First gave the offers for group, without informing us for the pre book in the email they refuse us to give the food. Waiter was not helpful at all. They were not solving any issue instead they were happy to send us away. The prices are extremely higher for the food. 3 tapas for £18!!!! Not recommended for any occasion.

Lovely tapas and cocktails, good atmosphere, though there was some confusion about whether we could order via the app or not, which was a bit annoying. Overall, a nice night out though.

The food was very much below standard. Ate from the tapas menu and had chicken skewers, albondigas and patatas bravas. All three were probably the worst I have tasted. Service was poor and I’m not sure why anyone would visit this place to eat. OK for a drink but steer clear of the food

Very nice environment. There was a misunderstanding with our Tapas order and they sorted it with no problem at all. The food is delicious and the thematic is amazing. Lovely the drinks as well and free Mojitos.

Very unpleasant location and almost impossible to find a nearby car park. Noisy, rather bland in style, not my scene.

We got off to a bad start here, there was a 20 minute unsuccessful search for some Chardonnay before our food order was taken, however the Antonio Pinot substitute was nice . Food came quickly and was fine. The bill was surprisingly small.
