Great coffee shop with a unique twist. Great service, brilliant retro arcade games for all ages....what's not to love? Well worth a visit if you're in Newquay

Was looking for my morning coffee and stumbled on this place. I'll be back every time I'm back in Newquay!

Wonderful place. Good coffee, good atmosphere, serious nostalgia kick with something for all ages. My 9yo loved the Japanese pokemon cards and playing some Ms Pacman.

Fantastic cafe with a friendly atmosphere. Regularly come here to play card games, (MTG, Pokémon, Yugiho!) Always easy to get a pick up game in with like minded, friendly and patient gamers. If no gamers are in you can always have a go on the old school arcade cabinets and try to smash the high score!!!

Hot coffee was okay but iced latte came warm with no ice and was not very good. The man working was very rude when we sat in here as a group when 2 people were buying drinks and when we asked for ice in the coffee as it was not cold.

Great little themed cafe. Good mix of old games and some tabletop gaming.

Stopped in for a coffee and found a lovely coffee house with a brilliant, relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent and they have a wonderful selection of classic arcade machines. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely wonderful place! couldn’t recommend this place enough, such a nice easy and welcoming atmosphere with such great managers. Truly a gem of Newquay! Came here last year but definitely going to visit again on my adventures back down the newquay, and will be definitely stopping by and buying some more of their merch! 💙👾🕹️

In Newquay for the weekend and popped into the town to have a look around, came across the retro cafe. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. What an amazing retro gamer paradise. Had a really nice lime shake, played bubble bobble. So many cool games and all the consoles on show. Highly recommended if you're into your gaming. Look forward to visiting again.

Stopped off for a bubblegum milkshake and it tasted fantastic, and service was brilliant, had to look at the Arcade games they had on offer, but sadly didnt get time to play one, maybe next time. They are Dog Friendly.

Love this place. Each time we come to Newquay we have to visit. The milkshakes are tasty & served with a smile. The old arcade games keep you busy as they take you back to your youth.

As a man in my 40s I miss what I consider ‘proper arcades’. This is a proper arcade. And it has nice coffee and the staff are friendly. Lots of 80s movie and gaming memorabilia to delight me into boring the kids with history lessons. And if you like a trading card game there’s plenty of Pokémon, yu gi oh and mainly Magic the Gathering to enjoy. Very welcoming environment. Could easily have stayed all day and fed 50ps into those machines.

Just stopped by after a good walk arround Newquay, had some great nostalgia times and discovered I'm still not very good at asteroids. Milkshake was excellent (few places do a good one) and it was a nice chilled out atmosphere. A brilliant place and we hope to visit again when we are back!

Really cool retro arcade + cafe. Took my two teenagers here to play some of the old original arcade games and it took me back to my youth. My kids didn't quite get it as the graphics aren't quite what they are used to but they were both smiling away as they realised that their dad is better than them. A must visit for any oldschool gamers

Great place and great people wish there were more like this around. Couldn't meet any friendlier people happy to talk to you about anything and everything.

We had an excellent experience in Retroblast yesterday (Saturday 6/8/23). Retroblast came recommended to us by a family member so we thought we would take the time to go and check it out, it was a 2 hour drive for us to get there but it was worth every second. From the minute we arrived the owners were welcoming and really friendly, I ordered a caramel macchiato and my partner ordered a hot chocolate, both were spot on, really liked the little touches like the custom chocolate sprinkles in the shape of the Retroblast logo. For the first 5 to 10 minutes I was just stunned by just how much was there, magic the gathering, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! Not to mention all the classic arcade games it was absolutely awesome to see it all in one place. But the best thing for me was that people were in there playing the different games, me and my partner got stuck in and played a couple of games of magic the gathering. Whilst we were there a party started a D&D session, it is so amazing that there is a place like this for gamers to go and not only purchase the tools needed to enjoy their hobby but also a place to play it surrounded by like minded people, cannot recommend it enough we will definitely go back!

This place is a little gem, totally unique ambience and style a definite stop for any gamers in the family.

Great blast from loads of old school video game's to play food and drinks served really friendly staff

Such an amazing cosy place that serves lovely cakes, paninis and my boyfriend said the coffee was amazing. I had a giant delicious milkshake. We played a few arcade games (ms Pac-Man and space invaders) and felt at home as two nerdy people. They even sell old Xbox and PlayStation games, card decks, Lego, and there’s a big section at the back to play cards. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. The staff were so kind as well. 🖤 👾 🕹️ ☕️

Best place in Newquay. Old Skool Retro Gaming Cabinets with all the classics. I could have spent hours in here. Great place and long may it continue

Best place in town to buy pokemon! Such a large collection, plus other varieties. We didn't play on the old machines, but they seemed all good. Very busy, so best arrive early :) we'll be back soon!

Awesome. If your a child that grew up in the 80s this will take you right back. Was suprised just how many classic arcade machines they had and at only 50p a go I thought that was pretty decent. Drinks are available from the counter, not sure if they serve food. Also set up to play board games and the like so can easily loose half a day in here if thats your thing. If you are in the area definitely worth visting just to remember the good old days and watch your kids faces when they see what we thought was cutting edge. Dogs welcome.

Kevin who was behind the counter was amazing service and the space is the exact environment I wanted while on a holiday for a week. Both my mum who was getting nostalgic and myself who loved the stock and drinka and my partner who enjoyed being spoiled herself all had an amazing time!

25-05-2023 Update: Played there again last night and bought my first MTG deck. Their help in choosing and explaining the differences in play was second to none. Not only the owner(s), but the regulars there to. Every question I had was answered, they encouraged me to keep asking questions to learn more. Their atmosphere is brilliant, even though it was my second time here, I felt welcomed and part of their group. It is rare to find these gems of people and locations. I implore anyone looking for good fun, food, shakes and hot drinks to go. If strategy games are not your bag, there are around 14 retro games, booths, food and drink. I hole heartedly recommend RetroBlast! 18-05-2023 Went to play Magic the Gathering on Tuesday evening after a friend introduced it to me. Everyone in there was amazingly helpful and patient to help me get into the game and learn its nuances. This goes for both the staff/owners and their customers. Will be going back regularly I am sure. P.S. Their shakes and cakes are amazing!

This is an amazing place, I went there and had a great time even if you are a 90s gammer you'll love these 80s throwbacks,plus I was surprised how friendly the customer service is, it comes highly recommend to anyone who loves retro gaming and card collecting and a nice cup of tea or coffee to boot it's a place like this we needed in the UK for a long time as you usually only find places like this in American definitely go here 10/10.

I absolutely love this place! If you're on holiday and you want a break from beaches come here! All the retro fun, from Bubble Bobble (my fav) to Wizards of War and Gauntlet. Plenty of arcade games to relive your childhood. There's also a selection of food and drink too

A must go if you're in Newquay! Good coffee and retro game machines! Great 80s / early 90s atmosphere, with loads of early home computing devices displayed throughout!

A great addition to Newquays places to be, Retroblast brings a great geeky getaway. You're instantly greeted by the familiar sounds of the 80s arcade machines, the nostalgic consoles and photos and the smell of good coffee just draws you in. Beyond that, there is an amazing friendly atmosphere around the shop. There is a well stocked game shop in the back for your MTG and D&D fix, as well as a games room for sessions. If there is another reason to want to live in Cornwall, this is it. Thanks to Kev and Beth for an amazing place!!

Every time we come to Newquay we always come in for a hot drink of u love old retro arcade games , tcg card games d@d warhammer it's all here for u a fantastic place,I always like a cheeky pack or 3 of pokemon to open while I'm having a coffee ☕️ 😉.

Really sweet shop, has an American diner vibe but overlaid with tons of retro posters, loads of Atari-era arcade machines, really really good coffee and most importantly, a huge amount of Magic:the Gathering in stock! Both times we visited (with our dogs, that are welcome) we grabbed a coffee and some M:TG cards and played a couple games, it was busy with other people playing M:TG, D&D, there was a Yugio event on (they run theme days over the week of various games) and the staff were really chatty and nice to talk to! Gutted that we are only visiting on holiday as would love a shop like this where I live! Definitely recommend, and will visit again when I’m around this part of the world next!

So excited, we found this place last week, went back today but was shut (not sure if it's cause its a Sunday) but what a gem! Hot choc are amazing, great selection of flavoured tea and amazing games! Fingers crossed its open on Sundays in the future as my kids won't stop talking about it! 10 out of 10.

Whenever we go on holiday to Cornwall, we always visit this place. The atmosphere is amazing, lovely and clean and polite staff. The milkshakes there are the best in Newquay! I love milkshakes and I’ve tried every place In Newquay and this place is miles ahead of any of them. Very reasonable prices too. 100% a absolute must if your going to Cornwall.

I was recommended by a colleague and thought we'd give it a try. This place is awesome! For starters, it's a decent coffee but more to the point; the owners are delightful and they've got a classic arcade that is hard to find at this point. Really cool place, I'll be heading back. Update: headed back there last week. Still awesome.

Was passing by until I saw this, went in had a coffee and went down memory lane so much detail in the history that was on display also bought some Pokémon packs was feeling lucky, loads of classic arcade games all 50p a go which is very reasonable, enjoyed the atmosphere very unique place! Really enjoyed my time here.

Absolutely loved this cafe! First place I've been to that sells sneak!! That aside the kids had an excellent time there playing the retro games. Almost as much as I did 😃! Will definitely be making this a stop off everytime we are here! Would highly recommend to anyone with the remotest interesting in gaming. The owners were super friendly as well an easy 5 stars

Found this awesome coffee shop by chance. The kids loved playing on all the retro arcade games. I enjoyed it myself too, even though I'm not great. The coffee was good. It could maybe do with one of those little change machines to dispense 50p coins. Would definitely call back in here next time we're down Update August 22. We came down again as we said, the coffee is awesome, really tasty. A plentyful supply of 50p's behind the counter and great games to play on. The kids had a blast. Wish we lived closer.

This place is great. Nice areas to sit down for a coffee, and you can pop off to the arcade machines as and when you feel like it for a bit of nostalgic fun. Definitely recommend you pop in, and say hi to the very courteous man who was running it.

Great games from the early days was like going to flynns arcade, great owners very tolerant of my dog and a really nice big ice coffee on a hot day, recommended for those who like a bit of arcade nostalgia 👍

This was by the far the best shop/cafe I have ever entered in my life, retro memorabilia lining the walls and not forgetting the arcade machines, they had everything, makes me wish I grew up in the eighties!!

They have retro arcade machine from the 80's right through the ages until now and all the nerdy games that will bring you back to your childhood.. and who doesn't want that! Fantastic little placed stacked with classic arcade machines and wonderful sci-fi and gaming decoration. A great spot for any program to grab an identity disk full of energy.

Take a trip back to the eighties! Retro arcade cabinets, delicious coffee, and tons of eighties movie memorabilia adorning the walls. There are even retro consoles mounted above your head, and retro game box art on the tables! I used to love coming to Newquay in the heyday of the arcades; now they're back, and with coffee and cookies to boot! Loved chatting with the owners. We'll be back.

What can I say! Awesome place, games are 50p a go, but all are set to max lives so that offers good value! Such a great atmosphere, and as a gamer from the golden age of arcades, just being in there with the noise from the machines was enough to take me right back to the 80's 😁 Coffee was excellent! Very friendly owners were lovely to chat to as well. Also, have a look on the leaderboard on the wall... You'll see DJL with the high score on Ms Pacman 🕹 that's me! Fantastic place to visit, I'm sure I'll be back again during this weeks stay in Cornwall.

Took the kids to see some old school arcade machines....haha, you should have seen their faces when confronted with "Track and Field", "Asteroids", "DigDug" and many others. Great fun and 50p a game, not bad at all I thought. Nice little cafe for drinks and sweets and they also hold Magic the Gathering nights. May try that one evening, although my kids are a lot more proficient at it than me. Nice place, well done guys.

Update: This has become my number one destination for weekends and to play Magic the gathering at during the week. They run Magic the Gathering sessions were people interested turn up and play for free, if you're new or interested they have loaner decks and lots of knowledge players to help! Loads of stock for Magic the gathering, cards, cases, sleeves and more! An awesome little coffee shop with a cool retro theme and old school arcades. Friendly and welcoming staff, great coffee and muffins! Look forward to when the arcade section finally opens but until then will keep popping in for a coffee and a chat!

Retroblast has an amazing collection of vintage games and is full of fun little bits of video game trivia. The owners are super friendly and have clearly put a lot of love into the venture. Just what Newquay needs.

Plenty of brilliant & classic arcade video games to play here. Spent an hour here with my 14 year old son who thought playing old video games would be easy 😁 It took him a while to work out how 'different' the retro machines are from today's controllers. Take a big bag full of coins, we had great fun but spent a fortune...Funny how the cost of actually playing the games ISN'T retro??? 🤔😫

Wow, what a BLAST from the past. I absolutely love gaming, it remains my favourite way to pass the time even today. I started gaming over 30 years ago and it was these very games that started it all off for me. We only visited for the first time last week but as residents of Cornwall, we will DEFINITELY be back. This place is amazing and the service throughout our stay was second to none. I can now relive my childhood memories, whilst making new ones with my son 😁

What a great coffee shop! Retro arcade machines for a blast of nostalgia for people of a certain generation & a look back in history for those slightly younger 😁. Oh yeah, the lovely, friendly owners also serve great coffee and the huge milkshakes are "really, really good" (according to my lad). Decked out with all sorts of late 70's & 80's decor - posters, memorabilia to add to the experience. Love it.

This place is just amazing. My girlfriend and I found it while on holiday. Ended up going there every day. Wish they had one where we live. Staff are lovely and friendly, and they have some amazing retro arcade games/decor. You can also find some other great things for sale (I picked up a SNES game I hadn't seen before).

Sadly I wasn't able to come back the next morning due to leaving Newquay. Although this place is a little gem in newquay! The staff are so lovely and easy to talk with. The drinks are on par, amazing. The decor really hits the spot and atmosphere as a whole is great. The staff freely give help/advice if you aren't sure how to play which helps with the experience. Overall we came here nearly everyday during our stay and didnt regret it. Gave me so much joy relaxing and enjoying the games there. Thank you retro blast, till next time.

My kids favourite cafe in Newquay. They've become hooked on the games of my childhood, and I've become hooked on the coffee. Definitely worth visiting whenever you're in Newquay.

Best milkshakes I've ever had. It's such a nice place to hangout too. With nice retro games and a chill vibe. Definitely became a must go to spot during our holiday.

My boyfriend and I love coming here for dates, the sneak milkshakes are lovely and the atmosphere is so calming and nice to talk around X Also the staff are really kind and welcoming, the arcade games are so fun!

As a lover of retro video games I fell for this place when I walked in. Games cabinets to the left and right and he milkshakes are delicious. 15/10.

I recently visited Retroblast and was pleasantly surprised by their mini-store with a selection of geeky goodies available! I snagged a Dungeons and Dragons Starter Kit and some Magic the Gathering cards for my son. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgable about everything nerdy, ranging from Magic/DnD to retro games. We also happened to pop in on one of the evenings where they were hosting a Magic the Gathering tournament, and have also have visited on one of their D&D nights. Wonderful vibe and atmosphere, superb and helpful staff. Absolutely would recommend to anyone from the casual to the incredibly nerdy.
