We live in Falmouth and I would thoroughly recommend MINE and will definitely be going again. Very accomplished cooking - very clean flavours, perfectly cooked pigeon, pork and gurnard - all too easy to overcook but these were just right. We shared one veg which was plenty - gently spiced braised lettuce hearts - unusual and worked very well. A decent bottle of wine at £31 and wine by the glass from £7 for 175ml seemed reasonable and the prices for food are pretty average for Falmouth so very good value for such excellent quality. The place was stuffed with locals on a Thursday night late Sept - says it all!

We come every year when on holiday and have never been disappointed. Top quality food in a cosy environment that has room for maybe 15 covers. Dog friendly and unpretentious. If this was in London or any other big city it would be three times the price, dogs certainly wouldn’t be allowed and neither would flip flops!

Arrived early but was accommodated straightaway. It was much smaller inside than I expected and tables a bit tight together, that said outside tables were are available but this is an observation rather than a criticism. Loved the open kitchen . Shows confidence of the chefs and fascinating to see a working kitchen. Staff were attentive and prompt and even helped out in the busy kitchen. Sensibly the menu was small but offered something for everyone. With regard to the food this was cooked and presented beautifully. We enjoyed all three courses and quality was consistent throughout. The cost was to be as expected and in the writers opinion good value for money. Overall I would highly recommend this establishment. It offers good quality at reasonable prices with a good atmosphere. 5/5

Nice little restaurant with excellent food. You almost feel like you are sitting in the kitchen with the chef's as they are cooking at the end of the room in full view. As mentioned above food was excellent an a nice selections of wine. The only think that stopped this being a five star review was one of the waitresses that seemed like she would have sooner been out partying rather than working. Menus just thrown onto the table, and when asked about an item on the menu it seemed like it was a big effort ot answer and not even making eye contact. It's a shame she let the whole team down which took the shine of of a lovely evening

Quirky little place. Charmless, unwelcoming, opinionated staff who like to talk down to the diners and generally spoil the atmosphere with their assumed superiority. The food was excellent, particularly the roast cod with Hazelnuts. I could see the chefs beavering away in the kitchen and I felt sorry for them, knowing that the cool treatment we were getting in the dining area would keep us, and I suspect others, from going back there.

Really amazing food and very accommodating, knowledgeable staff. We had an inside table booked but they were happy for us to sit outside once we got there, which was nice considering that's a table they could have sold. Food was top notch. The crab fritters are a must, to be honest wanted to try everything but with quality comes cost and rightly so it isn't cheap (but not extortionate either) and good value for what you're getting. Trout and Pork Loin was tender and full of flavour. Without our request they also kindly gave us a free birthday dessert. Including singing and candle lol. Overall awesome spot and lived up to the hype. Will certainly be back when looking for somewhere a bit special in Falmouth.

This restaurant is a bit of an odd one. It does some things very well, others not so much. Overall it promises more than it delivers. My family and I went for a birthday supper in April. The cooking is excellent. I had lamb, others had cod and gnocchi. Everyone said that their meals were delicious and l certainly couldn't fault mine. That said, the space is cramped. I guess if you were being positive you could call it intimate, but I found it too small. I also thought the drinks menu was limited and stupidly expensive. I ordered a Verdant light pale ale at £7.50, expecting at least a pint for that price. What I received was a small can of beer, slightly larger than a Coca-Cola can. The beer was not even poured, rather I was given a glass and the can itself. One of our party ordered Coca-Cola, and had the same experience - she was given a standard can of Coke and a glass to pour it into. To be honest this is poor service and ridiculously expensive. Drinks arrive first and can set the tone for the meal, so it's important to get it right. The restaurant could definitely widen the drinks menu and reduce the prices. I found paying £7.50 for a small can of beer pretty irritating and it's spoiled my experience. Equally, I ordered a brandy as a digestive and it arrived in a shot glass. What? The brandy experience is about smelling, warming the drink, and finally drinking. It needs a balloon glass, preferably pre-warmed. A good restaurant should know this. The service was OK, reasonably friendly, not fantastic. Overall I thought Restaurant Mine was OK.. Great cooking, spoiled by the points I made above. If you are spending this kind of money you can get a better experience elsewhere.

If you're looking for a healthy, balanced, flavoursome meal eaten at leisure and with ceremony, avoid this place! We went for a special night out, booked for 8pm. After two very poor courses, served at speed, we were out at 8.30! We were rushed into ordering within a couple of minutes of sitting down, the menu was limited and unbalanced and - despite claims on the website of regularly changing local ingredients, it was the exact same menu that we'd seen online some weeks before. The menu itself was carbohydrate-heavy (white bread, polenta bread, crumpet, mashed potato, root vegetables, pasta etc) with not a green leaf in sight. The trout starter was unadorned, tasteless and dominated by a black (squid ink?) crumpet. The chicken confit was a dried out chicken leg sitting on some tasteless mash and gravy with two tiny and frazzled pieces of broccoli. The portions were small. The service was without any aplomb or ceremony. We left at 8.30 feeling very disappointed and very hungry, found a Spar and bought a green salad to eat on the way home. This was a laughably bad experience - we went with the fact that Michelin had been mentioned in the reviews, but suspect this place has somehow become 'talked up', as we have no idea how it could have come to the attention of such a hallowed institution. Either that, or Mine is radically resting on its laurels, and radically needs pull it's socks up.

The food was amazing - we loved every dish. The crab starters are delicious - worth ordering instead of a starter or as well as. Loved the baked carrots and the chicken and mash. The drinks were very disappointing - avoid the vermouth spritz because it just tastes like soda water with ice and avoid very expensive orange wine which tastes like bottle had been open for days and it was oxidised. For reds the Puglia was good but the D’ouro Portuguese was poor. And service left a bit to be desired. But if you choose drinks carefully and don’t expect engaging service then worth paying for this fabulous food.

It’s only a small place but has bags of atmosphere, especially as you can see the two chefs cooking everything in their tiny but immaculately organised kitchen. What a great restaurant! Really really good food, the more I think about it, the more I realise how good it actually was, like genuinely outstanding food, creative, simple and full of flavour. The menu is small but packs a punch with its options, covering all your vegan/veggie and GF needs, producing such beautiful looking dishes. The chefs are loving and charming, down for a chat with any interested customers, and you can otherwise feel free to admire their work via the open pass. It gives the place a real sense of togetherness, especially considering how it only seats roughly 20. We had a slight issue with our server, treating a disagreement over what was ordered (including meat being handed to a vegetarian couple) with a little frustration, but other than that they were attentive and kind enough. This is gourmet … but the price point is not excessive. Interesting wine list too. Cleverly positioned in a discrete cobbled yard. Just go. It’s probably Falmouth’s most competent restaurant - a really inspiring evening out. And all the better for the surprise of finding it.

We did not leave this small restaurant saying ‘wow, that was a really good meal. Rather, we felt like Oliver Twist wanting to ask for more because portion sizes were minimal and overpriced.

Excellent quality of food and good value, though beer and coffee pricey. Service a bit slow, but good atmosphere and well worth visiting for the food

Every time we go to Mine I mean to leave a review, as it is simply THE best restaurant in Falmouth and area…and we are locals. We are discerning now about going out to eat in restaurants near us, as, sadly, so many are geared up for the tourist trade, and are either ridiculously expensive or abandoned over the winter months. Mine is a delight, the food is superb, with a carefully curated small menu (always a good sign) and the food is cooked with care and flare right beside you. The produce is carefully chosen from local suppliers. The ambience is fantastic, a small, intimate tasteful room in a cobbled yard (with a funky bar next door!). The staff are delightful, and you actually feel you are in someone’s house as a guest (which is brilliant!) If you want generic, overpriced “coastal food”, or pretentious weirdly named tasting menus, go elsewhere but I worry that if you all come to Mine (as you should!) there won’t be enough room for us to book a table !!

This is a very small restaurant, I think there was room for maybe 14-16 covers. There was no atmosphere so they cranked up the music. that together with the noise from the table of 6 meant we could not have a conversation. The acoustics in...

What an impressive restaurant. Small but perfectly formed. Everything is cooked in front of you. It’s fine dining at its best. Presentation and taste were outstanding. If we were staying longer it would be the place to go. Excellent wine suggestion too. This was a...

15 out of 5 if I could 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 These chefs seriously know what they're doing. 👏 We spent a week eating in Falmouth at the best places we could find at all price points and this was hands down the best place in both food quality and value, and one of the best we've ever had in the UK. ✊ Unreal food, carefully balanced, presented with finesse. Every dish was perfectly cooked. 🦈 Open kitchen presents a lovely vibe, the staff are really incredible, tentative with their knowledge of the drinks and food. 🍸🥣 Seriously this is a 15 out of 5 must visit for Falmouth 💯 Top tip: check out Chintz next door for a pre or post drinks, super cool bar 🍹 @bristolsecretfoodie for more secret reviews 📸

It was certainly nice enough, food WAS good but nothing I haven't had in similar local restaurants but at a more expensive price. Portions were small and a bit mean to be frank. The deviled eggs were not deviled at all, i'm not sure if...

Absolutely amazing food. And a very cosy and comfy atmosphere friendly staff and good drinks. Slightly let down by leaving still hungry. But over all I'd recommend and say over all it is worth the price

Without a doubt, one of the most impeccable — and that’s exactly the word to describe it — meals I’ve had in years. From the homemade bread and starters (ravioli and a Scotch Egg that is a revelation) to perfectly prepared venison and grilled chicory, everything was low key, unpretentious and, well, perfect. Thoughtful, quiet and impressive in every way.

Really disappointed. We been visiting Padstow for last 10 years and it’s used to be a friendly nice food place. But last few visits this holiday we absolutely disappointed. Ordered 2 cream teas, pasty and pot of tea, at the end was charged for 3 pots of tea because the brought big one (just because it’s 3 of us) but we ordered small at the first place. Pasty was reheated in the microwave, wet and old. Cream teas, one of the pot of cream was off, didn’t realised at the first place only after putting at one cone asked if it’s look normal and they said “sorry” and brought new cream pot, didn’t swap my waisted cone, so had one one. So unfriendly stuff. Only care about charge you and waiting for you to leave. As soon as we have finished eating, stuff was taken, didn’t gave as time to finish tea. Compare to few years ago when it was warm and friendly place and now its went down the hill, we won’t visit this place again. That is a shame all people care now a day how to over charge and not even trying to smile, most of the people here on holiday and places like this just a big disappointment.

This hotel and restaurant is situated on the same coast as the Nare. It therefore shares the same "subtropical" climate. The gardens reflect this and the hotel is on a gentle cliff with access to the sea and small beach with no signs of civilisation around. It is certainly a beautiful and unique area. Parking is easy and first impressions of the hotel entrance suggest a 1960's house that has been extended on multiple occasions. The staff vary from being pleasant, attentive and slightly nervous to extremely chatty and friendly. The dining room has 2 sections and I felt the area near the entrance had the best ambiance. The views towards the sea are amazing but remember that if you sit on a table next to the vista windows early in the evening by the time it gets dark you will be looking at a vast black area of glass which is unpleasant due to complete absence of outside light. Maybe best to take a table next to the inside wall. There is a fixed price dinner for £70 and this includes warm home made rolls and excellent canapés. The duck parfait was enjoyable and the preserved bream unusual. The main courses were very fish orientated with a non-fish choice of only 1 out of 4 meat eaters may have some difficulty. Monkfish was perfect and the Soufflé memorable. With service, tax and 2 glasses of wine the dinner for 2 came to almost £190 - perhaps a little more than expected but an enjoyable evening.
