Absolutely lovely atmosphere great service nothing too much, really enjoyed the visit. When you arrive you are carefully booked in and directed to where you need to be, you are then looked after like a member of the family

We held my husbands wake at Badgers Mount for 60 friends and family, the service was professional and discreet and the food was excellent and beautifully set out in a lovely room. We would definitely return to Badgers Mount again so would many of our friends and family.

We booked a family party here following my daughter’s baptism. We had the afternoon tea option. The food was fantastic. Beautiful cakes, sandwiches, scones - plentiful and high quality. The service was also great- friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. I would highly recommend. We have been a number of times for Sunday lunch and had a good experience. This was another level and a perfect end to our day. Thank you all.

Absolutely love eating here..every now and then we decide to try somewhere different for a change but then really regret it and have to come back to Badgers…we have never had a bad meal here…the food is superb the service is brilliant and it’s fantastic value for money so what more could you want.

We used to visit Badgers Mount (restaurant) regularly some years ago,but fell out of love with the place after the then owners sold and sadly it went down hill. Friends had told us that under the new ownership of Glen Watson it is worth a re-visit. What an understatement that was! Despite celebrity TV chefs and bake offs on our screens every night, In our view Britain offers a plethora of fast food, bar meals and take outs, but lacks affordable restaurants of style and quality, Badgers Mount breaks that mould and provides a quality of service and food I had almost given up hope of recovering. My wife and I are keen foodies and are planning an evening out with eight friends and were really finding it difficult to find a "special" venue until we re-discovered Badgers Mount. From the moment we set foot through the entrance we were warmly greeted and seated (by Sharon who's welcoming smile and attention was warm and sincere) in the smaller of the two dining rooms.. Beautifully furnished and presented we asked to see the main dining room which too followed the same restful colour theme throughout. The background music remained where it should be - in the background- and we returned to our table. Torn between Chateaubriand or Dover Sole we shared the briand, which was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly it was genuinely melt in the mouth, served with home made "real" chips (cant stand those frozen matchsticks that many restaurants serve), home made onion rings and flat mushroom & tomato garni. Without doubt our best meal out for years. Sadly we had no room for a sweet just coffees with homemade shortbread biscuits. Including our drinks £70.00 Not a cheap night out but certainly good value if the service, ambience and food is important to you. It was after our meal whilst writing this review I looked at Chef/Owner Glenn Watson's profile and I now understand the stamp of quality evident throughout Badgers Mount. He previously worked with the Roux's and at the Savoy and also George V in Paris. We return in March with our friends and really cant wait to share the experience with them Absolutely delightful, thoroughly recommended

We dined here as a family on Saturday, in terms of service they tried but it was all a bit tis was, the food order taken before we were even asked what we wanted to drink! The food was hit and mis, portions were a decent size, chips were under cooked (rock hard), I mean how do you get chips wrong! They offered to replace them but I didn't want to wait as I had already started eating my steak which was delicious. I didn't have a dessert but sampled the others, again hit and miss. Sticky toffee pudding lovely creme brulee inedible. Over priced as well for what it was.

Had an amazing meal in Oscars lounge. Compliments to the Chef. Lovely ambience with background music. Food was plated in a way that was aesthetically pleasing, colourful and tempting. Staff were attentive and eager to help. Will definitely go again. Thank you.

we dined last month. the staff, food and hotel was diar, the food and still frozen, stale and cold, when we complained the staff was awfully rude and couldnt move away from our table quick enough once refused to eat the food we wont be backa nytime soon, theres a better resturamt less than 5mins car journey away

We dined with you in late October and everyone in our party was utterly disappointed. The food was stone cold The service was diar The setting and atmosphere was none existent It was like eating in a hostel, the decor is dull, the mood and tone of the place was boring and out of date. The restaurant is like a ghost town, we were the only table in the restaurant and we were a party of 4!!!

Exceptional Lunch says it all , my chicken pie with a gorgeous sauce was the best I have ever had. Service was friendly and also professional, this was all of the staff from the youngsters to the ones who had more experience. Well done we will be back soon.

On a somewhat delayed appearance (late flight) we were brilliantly looked after and had a very decent evening The steak was cooked to perfection and was very good indeed. Hugely impressed.

Place as no character.... Food nothing to write home about, not a place I would take friends to... Had to wait an age to be served... Most staff just milling around like in a daze.... Makes you wonder weather any of them is trained in hospitality, or just shoved in at the deep end, also imagine the chefs looks a bit of a bully ....

The food and service was exceptional all our guest commented on this and is still a talking point of the day. We would highly recommend booking Badgers Mount you won't be disappointed or have any regrets

Amazing lunch experience as usual. We had a vegan guest. The staff were so helpful. Several choices offered and our guest was delighted. Full credit to all the staff.

What a well run restaurant - I have eaten in many restaurants across the world in recent years (check my profile & comments) and would rate the quality and service as being equal to some of the top restaurants we have dined in.

Fantastic afternoon tea with beautiful sandwiches, mini cakes and homemade warm scones! If you're hesitating don't, just book it!

Lovely generous afternoon tea. Very friendly waitress. Beautiful surroundings. What more can you ask of afternoon tea?? The scones were warm and buttery and the fruit cake was the best I've ever tasted too.

We booked a table in the restaurant because our other watering holes were full and we had previously had a value for money lunch so, we decided to try dinner. The front of house staff were lovely but the food ....... we were offered Lobster and Dover Sole as specials at London prices and told that it was also Fish Friday so, we both ordered the fish. The Soup tasted like "out of a packet" and my Pate had more garlic than meat. The Fish had a soggy tempura like batter and both our pieces were identical in shape. I don't eat batter so, pealed it off to reveal a very thin white mush purporting to be fish. The garden peas were dark green and tasteless and only the chips were reasonable. We paid the bill and left but the next day I noticed that we had been charged £1 for a glass of tap water. We noticed the following week that Morrisons had identical shaped battered fish in their basic basic range - coincidence or .... ? Only six diners in the large well appointed restaurant on a Friday night with a group playing appropriate music speaks for itself.

Excellent food and service. Try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Both my wife and I agree that it is one of the nicest meals we have ever had.

For my 40th we booked a table online when my parents said they wanted to take me out for a nice lunch.

We went for lunch and were not disappointed. The food was lovely, the staff friendly and the outlook from the conservatory is very pleasant. Just a shame that it was a little marred by the Marquee that was being set up for a wedding. (What a great place for that). However we had no complaints whatsoever.

This guy is a class act well worth a visit. He and his wife bought the hotel a couple of years ago. Every time we have been, they make improvements to both the hotel and their marvellous restraunt.

This is definitely a place to come to, it is a little gem, exquisite food and delightful staff especially Agnieszka who was very attentive and nothing was too trouble for her. Agnieszka and Glen should be proud of their staff as they were very friendly and attentive. The food you will have to try, it is a must, wonderful flavours, on the par of Michelin food which I have tasted, this is a restaurant not to missed as the surroundings are beautiful even with a beautiful swimming pool in the back, oh yes I forget to mention it is a hotel with beautiful grounds, very modern restaurant, with a conservatory and caters for everyone to private parties with private dining areas, truly exquisite, I will definitely be going there again

The food is delicate and delicious, perfect seasoning and clear attention to detail this restaurant is a real find. Good wines to accompany your dishes with quiet efficient and attentive service. The chef even makes time to pop out for a quick word. Definitely our new venue of choice when in the area.

My wife and I along with some of our family had a fabulous Xmas Day lunch. It is the first time we have been out on Xmas Day so we were a little apprehensive about how things might be. We have been to this place a few times before and had very good service so we felt reasonably confident.

Hadn't been fpr sometime as it had been awful but was recently recommended to us by several friends.A different chef there, Glen. The food was excellent, very good value, very good lunch menu including specials. Staff were very welcoming, efficient and friendly. Will certainly visit again and recommend it to others.

My wife and I had an excellent meal on a very busy Saturday evening. The quality of the food was exceptional for this area. Still a small problem is concerning the quality of some of the serving staff, they really are not trained to match the standard of the food. The service wasn't slow, they just don't appear to know how to deal with the quality of the food.

We ate here as a family of 7 recently and had a lovely evening! We live relatively near by and there are only a few really decent places to eat if you don't want a curry. One such establishment has recently closed (34 Windsor street) and this place is certainly its equal, which is no mean feat as 34 was mentioned in the Michelin guide for several years consecutively. The staff were charming and attentive and the food was sublime! My father has Coeliac disease but this was no problem for the kitchen and gluten free alternatives were given throughout the meal! I had aranchini ball starter which was delicious and followed that up with a stunning ribeye steak cooked to perfection. The cheeseboard to finish was also spectacular! (share it between two or three people) I had a taste of about 4 puddings including the cheesecake and bread and butter pud! All of which were top notch! We love this place and will be back soon! We have Christmas lunch sorted this year but my wife is already planning on booking for 2018 if they do it. Restaurant lovers give this place a go, you will not be dissapointed!

We've just celebrated our wedding anniversary at the badgers mount and the food and the staff were absolutely fantastic, Well done Glen your food and your staff are excellent and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stephen Fitch.

Steak was very chewy. was supposed to be extra matured. No way was it. i asked for it to be only medium cooked.

My husband and I called in on the off chance for a midweek lunch, three courses from a set menu with a good and varied choice. The fish pie was quite simply the best ever tasted. In fact all courses were delicious and very good value. The service was excellent and we decided to book to return again on the 23rd April for the Sunday lunch. This time there were 11 family members present, celebrating my husband's birthday. Again we received the same high level of service and the food again was superb. We were provided with a large round table, white linen and a lovely centre piece. The weather was glorious and the children were able to play outside between courses. Every member of our party enjoyed their choice of food and complimented us on our choice of venue. Thank you to all concerned. We will be returning for sure.

A lovely traditional Sunday lunch served with pleasant staff in a comfortable environment. Food was lovely, choice good and prices reasonable. There was no rush and we felt attended to throughout. Would recommend.

i mistakenly reviewed this restaurant as the hotel so will review the restaurant here again, we had a first class sunday lunch here on the 5/3/17 what a great experience lovely food, great staff, good atmosphere, comfy seats, really back to the top again,have just booked again for next week.

We had Delicate Salmon Fishcakes and Ham hock croquettes to start. Lamb hot pot and wild mushroom risotto as mains. The food is delicate and delicious, perfect seasoning and clear attention to detail this restaurant is a real find. Good wines to accompany your dishes with quiet efficient service. Me and my partner stayed at the badgers mount this weekend and what a wonderful time we had. Arriving in the evening a bottle of pink prosecco welcomed us in the room (a lovely kind gesture and very much appreciated).

My husband and i have been a couple of times since this place was taken over by Glen Watson and i have to say that his food is superb...every course we both had tonight was absolutely delicious..cannot fault any of it and extremely good value for money, not expensive at all...looking forward to our next visit!

We came here today to sample the food and it was excellent as was the ambiance and staff. Will be returning for a big celebration in April.

Having stayed at the hotel back in August and thoroughly enjoying the experience, we were keen to revisit and dine in the new restaurant, Glen Watson.

We dined here as a party of 11 at the beginning of December for our Christmas get together. What a top choice of location! The staff were friendly and attentive throughout and the restaurant had a really welcoming and relaxed ambiance to it.
