Restaurant at the Uig Hotel in Highland

What an absolutely fabulous restaurant. The food was amazing, cracking menu, friendly, helpful staff & most importantly, dog friendly!! Came here two nights running, if we were here for a third night, would definitely be back again!! Thank you to all the staff.

Another fantastic meal. Had a lovely Sunday roast. Beautiful cheeseboard and a great selection of wines. Cant fault the staff. Still the best place in Uig to get good grub and booze.

Visited on recommendation of a friend who lives on the island. Boy were we glad we listened! From booking, arriving and the full dining experience everything was perfect. We had a variety of choices across our table of 6 and everyone was highly impressed by their meal quality and local produce. Menus were clearly marked for allergens and staff had a good understanding of cross contamination risks for coeliac / gluten free requirements. Experience made all the more when the waitress visited each table one by one to advise the Northern Lights could be seen from the car park. She then made a point of coming out to show people how ti capture on their mobile phones. Now that is stand out service!

Great little hotel on outskirts after the village.We stopped for lunch and enjoyed some lovely fresh mussels,our son loved his soup and sandwich.I would highly recommend this place to anyone.Prices highish but we're getting used to that on skye.

In the tiny village of Uig this hotel/restaurant hit it out of the park! From making our reservation from the states to perfect service, this is a top notch restaurant! I wish we had stayed here also. Pigs cheek app was very good and hearty. Trout was perfectly seared and accompanied with small potatoes and vegetables. The gnocchi was delicious, with earthy mushrooms! Wine and draft beer selection were good also.

Very friendly and welcomed our 2 dogs too. Perfect lunch stop as we toured the island. Food was fresh and tasty. Convenient for ferry.

The Uig Hotel is one of the few local eating places to us. Went with friends that were staying with us. The food was excellent. The burger was delightful. The fish and chips ws superb too apparently. The desert - dark chocolate parfait - also excellent. Service was really good and for Skye, good value. All in all a very pleasant experience. We need to eat here more often, but it’s often very busy in the season, so boom well ahead. Good job guys. We all really enjoyed our visit very much.

Staying at the Uig hotel and decided to have an evening meal here. The quality of the food and the service was excellent and all 5 in our party commented on how good the food was. We all had a different meal and thoroughly enjoyed what we had. The deserts were also excellent and would definitely recommend to anyone.

The food was amazing and the service was great. Daily menu and regular menu items were great. Make sure you get the sticky pudding! Don’t pass them by.

We had lunch here whilst waiting for the ferry to Harris. The food was excellent and very competitively priced. I had the mussels and my OH had the seqfood chowder. We also had some excellent desserts.

Large facility with a separate building for many of the rooms. (Important when it is raining!) Very close to the ferry...maybe 10 minutes at best. A packed to go breakfast is available for the early morning ferry service. Check-in service is limited to specific hours, no concierge service available.

This is a great place to eat on Skye. We found places were either very budget or very posh but this one is just right. Very tasty and obviously homemade food with very friendly, hardworking staff. The apple tart is amazing! You do need to book, which we did by phone the night before. Their website could do with updating as doesn’t do it justice.

This was our favourite place we ate during our long weekend in Skye. Food was great, service was fast, staff were really friendly and it was all well priced. We also took our dog and felt very welcome with her there. We took her a walk around Uig beforehand to tire her out a bit which worked out perfectly. Highly recommend!

We dined tonight for a friend’s special birthday. On entering the hotel it was welcoming, warm and the bar area had a great ambience. I know the hotel have new chefs the menu was great (definitely recommend the burger) all three courses were delicious. The waiting staff were first class and I would highly recommend a visit if you are on the Isle of Skye

We stopped for an impromptu light lunch. I had a seafood chowder and my partner had a ham ciabata sandwich. Perfect quantities, great taste, fresh. We had a draft local ale, which tasted very well kept. The service was amazing; relaxed and informative. Lovely atmosphere and overall experience.

Great food and the lighter bites made a good meal in and of themselves. Lovely fresh salad. The americano was the best coffee I had on Skye (only compared with two other places to be fair)— highly recommend if you’re looking for a rich, darker flavor more aligned with a French roast. This was a great surprise. Very polished service and a varied and intriguing menu. A lovely traditional dining room with a calm atmosphere. Meals were well presented and tasty and matched with a good selection of both bottles and wine by the glass. All round a great experience.

Wow! We loved it. We wanted to eat at skye but all the places were full so we decided to book this one and it was a success. The place is quite beautiful and with very good views and a good atmosphere. The waiter is quite friendly and the food is of very good quality for the price. I highly recommend it if they are in skye.

Arriving to the photographic splendour of the building set the scene for what had to come. The hotel front of house, chefs and resteraunt team worked together to provide a happy, imaginative journey worthy of a 5 star establishment.

We booked Sunday lunch and were accompanied by our 2 dogs. The staff could not have been friendlier and very much welcoming of our dogs too. The food was fantastic, so much so we had 3 courses, there was also a great view across to Uig.

What a great place! The menu has a nice mixture of sea food & meat dishes. Non of our group are vegi or vegan but those options were also available. Everything we tried was delicious, we were wowed with every course that was delivered to us by the wonderful staff. I hope to visit again and stay in the hotel next time.

We were staying in Uig during a Scottish roadtrip, and we weren't too sure where we'd be able to find food. However, we discovered the Uig Hotel was a short walk from our accommodation, and we were able to get a booking. We were surprised how good our meals were. Very hearty food, really tasty, plus a great selection of local Skye beers and friendly staff. If in Uig again, I'd definitely be booking in for a meal or two!

We came up to stay for two nights after our wedding and the service was brilliant. The food was absolutely delicious and completely faultless. The cheese and whiskies were also great! We’re going to book again to come next month we had such a good stay. The owner also came to talk to us and was extremely down to earth and a lovely guy! To be honest this was not our first choice but getting a reservation at a restaurant on Skye is currently difficult. However, having dined there we were delighted it had turned out that way. Welcoming, friendly staff and a table for 2 by the window, overlooking the harbour got the evening off to a great start. The food was superb. I had mussels followed by sea trout and my husband had chowder then the chicken supreme. We were both very happy with our choices and were too full for pudding. Prices were very reasonable too! . We’d have loved to have gone there again but we were leaving the next day. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this place !
