Delicious food, great location, spotlessly clean, lovely staff made us feel welcome. For days afterwards, wished I'd ordered the larger breakfast.

Visited in Feb and a warm welcome from friendly staff. Had a great breakfast with wonderful views. Reasonably priced and will be back again tomorrow ! No dogs allowed which is fantastic ! A great asset to Porthcawl and the wonderful Rest Bay.

Fabulous cafe in a beautiful location. Welcoming and friendly and delicious food and plenty of choices for vegetarians. Great views overlooking the sea from inside or the outdoor terrace. This will be our go to cafe when visiting Rest Bay beach.

The cafe was very busy when we arrived but the staff were welcoming and it was very clean and tidy. We were served quickly and the paninis were hot and tasty with plenty of salad etc. Coffee and hot chocolate was great too The toilets were clean. No complaints from us.

Called in there this evening after walking over from Porthcawl front. Went upstairs to get a take away coffee and tea as I had the dog with me. Was told you have to sit in to have it explained I had the dog and was told there’s nothing they can do. Couldn’t understand why I could see paper take away cups by the barista machine I hope they loose lots and lots of business don’t deserve to be there I won’t go again I’ll stick to the front at least you’ve got a choice there and premises are dog friendly

Stopped in for a quick drink. 4 of us in total. Lovely staff. Good coffee. Nice selection of cakes. Great view. Staff really were attentive and nice. Highly recommended

Cold food and terrible atmosphere. We ordered the full breakfast and it was barely warm. The place lacks the energy to get good quality / hot food to the table. Really disappointed. It’s ok for a coffee because of the lovely view, but the food is poor.

My partner and I had a rare day off together while my son was in school so decided to take our dog for a walk and grab some lunch while we were there. I went upstairs to order and was told they did not do 'take aways'. I said we were sitting outside and only wanted a sandwich! I understand dogs are not allowed inside but why can't you take a sandwich outside to eat at their table and chairs?!? We went when it first opened and were told it was because it was owned by the council and they wouldn't allow crockery outside?!? We thought they would've changed this after 2 years! We used to regularly go to the beach all year round and loved having a hot chocolate in the winter by the fire and a sandwich at Malcs. What a shame they've replaced it with this place which is not a cafe or restaurant. The only 'take away' you can get is from a hole in the wall which would be ok but you can only buy coffees , chocolate bars and crisps! Not sure it'll be around long.🥴

The views and ambience for this place are fantastic - great music playing as well. We went after doing a SUP hire at the surf school and really enjoyed our paninis, cake and drinks. Food and drink were both served promptly. Only criticisms would be a bit more choice on the menu and perhaps a little more seafood give. It’s location.

Visited here for lunch in May. I asked for a panini without butter but was told that they all came with butter on them. So I didn’t order anything. I ended up eating half of the panini my companion had because I was hungry and the taste of butter fortunately wasn’t too overpowering. I have a dairy intolerance and just don’t like butter on my sandwiches etc. I felt that the staff did nothing to accommodate my preference. Thankfully I do not have an allergy to dairy. I felt disappointed but actually the panini and salad that came with it was quite nice. In this day and age of allergies and intolerances I would have thought that no butter would have been a simple request to accommodate. But apparently not. Coffee and views were great.

Toilets covered with faeces and blood only half way through the day. All out of toilet paper. Ice cream hatch closed half an hour early because they had sold out, but the staff were all outside eating ice creams so I guess there were 4 left. Laughed in my face when I said the kids were disappointed. Car parking machine doesn't take card. You can pay with your mobile but suprise the text and call no. doesn't work. There were several people trying to get a ticket. The location is lovely, but won't go again. The owners will probably blame it all on covid but the truth is, it's just greedy lazy management

We were looking forward to experiencing this new cafe. The views were fab. We were shown to a table on the balcony. We sat there whilst they cleaned one table, there were no other guests. We waited for a good 10 minutes with no one coming to take our order, so we left. Very disappointed.

Just enjoyed a delightful brunch at Rest Bay Cafe! Fab service by lovely staff, spotlessly clean, gorgeous scenery over the sea. Brunch was served hot & tasty, no complaints just compliments. Thank you

Me and my friends entered the upstairs cafe expecting to order food after a day walking along the coast and were told they weren’t serving food after we sat down at our tables, feeling awkward we were forced to order drinks before leaving so I ordered a fanta and I was brought what seemed like lemonade with orange squash mixed in even though it specified that it was fanta on the menu

On going to use the toilets 4 out of the 5 toilets had no toilet paper and 4 out of the hand sanitiser was empty very disappointed
