Arrived about 9:45 to be told no tables available. Pointed out a table was available till 12:30 only to be told it was only available for a party of four. Ended up at the Vintage Tearooms for an excellent breakfast. Very disappointing as we have been customers of both Remedies from the early days. Spent about just over an hour in Vintage Tearooms. Not sure about customer service, as we would have been happy to move to a smaller table if one became available. Remedy before this incident was always a favourite choice for breakfast.

After reading reviews , headed out of Southport for a visit to Churchtown. Remedy is one of many upmarket shops and eateries in this idyllic street with thatched buildings and flower adorned shop fronts . The restaurant itself was busy but the waitress welcomed us and after a short wait situated us in the main room which was comfortable and very pleasant. We ordered full English breakfasts, which were huge, delicious and well presented. Quality sausages, bacon and bread added to the experience. Piping hot and included a poached egg cooked to perfection. Very attentive and pleasant staff, who made you feel just as welcome as those who were regular visitors. Remedy hold fun looking theme events such as a Paint and Sip night for budding watercolor artists, weekly quiz and game nights. The whole menu looked appealing and the steady footfall of custom suggest that Remedy is a very popular place for all

The remedy Tranquility versus anxiety part two. Part one ended with me stating that I would never go back in that place again . I started to endeavour to keep that promise only that the bus stop for me to go into the town was right outside remedy on the opposite side of the street . We are now two weeks into Me endeavouring not to go back into remedy but this particular morning as I was waiting for the bus the lady who makes Brazil finest begins to march over towards me and presents me with a cup of Brazil’s finest. As a peace offering needless to say I accept the peace offering and I caught the next bus into town with my fresh cup of coffee. The wonderful lady who makes the coffee gets this cup of Brazil’s finest to perfection. I now have a dilemma coffee or endeavour . Here is reason why I gave this place the title tranquil based on the fine people that work there the good ambience I also realise the hive been missing the coffee from this place. so a song comes to mind from Biggie Smalls one more chance haha ,we are all back to smiles and Brazil’s finest is being tested Daily .

Visiting family in Southport so wanted somewhere nice to go for a late breakfast. We had such a fantastic experience that we went back a second time and will definitely be heading back when we next visit. A real gem in Churchtown. The fact it is dog friendly too was a real bonus. Good was delicious, good portion sizes and the barista does a superb job with the latte art. Well done!

Great menu, Good food, good relaxed atmosphere. I’m lucky to live nearby and come most days. All the staff are hard-working, engaging and fun. There are times when they are extremely busy so be patient, don’t whine and be polite, they are in service not servants …and it’s a small business, local, community based and not a multinational! Often tables are reserved and you might get moved off if you’re only having a drink before someone arrives and they fit you in… Suggest, even, book ahead if it’s important to you, for birthday or lunch date or business meeting. Obviously on a good day, they also have outside. They allow well-behaved dogs in part of the inside too… But it’s not everyone’s joy, so maybe keep your dog on a lead, and if it barks take it outside..

Beautiful little cafe in Churchtown, obviously very popular as people reserve tables. Lovely decor, reasonably priced menu. I ordered the veggie breakfast, was delicious, I asked for no chilli on the halloumi, that request was met. I should have asked for no honey on it. Everything was so fresh, had a courgette fritter which was so tasty, not a fan of courgettes either so that was a pleasant culinary surprise. Staff friendly but not intrusive. Highly recommend it for breakfast or brunch

Very enjoyable breakfast. I don’t eat eggs and a lot of breakfasts involve eggs! I opted for the toast with smashed avocado & asked for hallumi instead of poached egg. It was lovely. My friend had the full breakfast shebssid it was delicious I actually had some of her mushrooms which were delicious. Nice coffee too. You must book as it’s very busy. Situated in the heart of Churchtown village. Nice friendly staff nothing too much trouble.

Love, love, love Remedy. We have always visited for coffee, breakfast/lunch several times each month. Never had a problem with any of the staff who serve all customers very well. There are times when it is very busy, so best to book if possible. Coffee is the best I've tasted anywhere and the team are always courteous whenever we visit. All the best for 2024 and have a lively Christmas 🎅

I've been visiting Remedy for years and can safely say it boasts the best coffee in Southport. The venue is cosy and inviting and one of my favourite breakfast/lunch spots. Sadly, the staff have really let it down and it's such a shame but I feel compelled to leave a review after so many unfriendly encounters. It's almost as if they're annoyed at you walking through the door and supporting their place of work. This is especially true if you dare to enter with a child/pram. Their greeting is cold, unaccommodating and at times down right rude. Amber in particular doesn't even try to mask her disdain and actually loudly huffed the last time. Having venues of my own, I would hate for any guests of mine to feel the way my friends and I do upon visiting Remedy. Loving the venue, I can absolutely overlook the sometimes slow service, having to fetch my own menus and frequently having to seek out a young member of the team to actually place an order.. but I have to draw the line at hostility. I can see a number of other reviewers have said the same which hasn't been well-received from the Owner. Please rest assured, I'm not coming from an argumentative or bad place, just simply believe basic customer service should be worked upon. That being said, Emma is LOVELY and has always greeted us with a warm welcome. She's a credit to you.

I was catching up with a good friend in the area and stumbled across this golden nugget. After a relaxing walk in the Botanical Gardens and a stroll around the stunning village of Churchtown, I headed to Remedy for lunch and a catchup. Whilst the draw of Churchtown is the feeling of returning to a bygone age, the menu and choice at Remedy were far from that with modern options and plenty of choice for a long-in-the-tooth vegetarian. Excellent service and an all-around friendly vibe. Recommend!

Nice afternoon ruined when we got the bill. Jyst wanted to warn others. Drinks menus and offers very misleading. Gin we picked said served with berries and lemon tonic. When we came to pay said we had to pay extra for lemon tonic. When I queried why When menu clearly said served with berries and lemon tonic I was told by very condescending manager that it was a recommendation only and didn't come with the tonic although it did appear to come with the berries. Very misleading. I explained that if I bought a meal that said served with chips I wouldn't expect to pay extra for the chips but manager was very dismissive. Watch out if you go there.dont get caught like we did. They offer discount drinks during afternoons but my advice is query and get correct price When you order as menus completely misleading. While one member of staff could see where misunderstanding could occur, the attitude of manager really upset me.

Lovely place to pop into for a quick coffee or glass of wine and a piece of delicious home made cake, or a light lunch with friends. Child friendly with kids menu . Staff extremely friendly and helpful. They offer drinks of the day including a variety of different gins. Only down side is that it closes at 5 pm in the week. Reopens later on . It's sister bar is on lord street in southport. A great asset to church town village.

I think to charge extra for gluten free bread when for most people it is for medical reasons is disgraceful!! Your menu needs to be clear also, as to what meals contain gluten. For these reasons I have decided to eat elsewhere!!

Took the kids in for breakfast this morning was amazing, I had Eggs Royal which I would highly recommend. The kids all had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup all empty plates.. great place to go for breakfast and then have a walk around botanic gardens.

We stopped here with friends for Brunch as we didn't need a huge Sunday lunch and it was the perfect choice. We had Eggs Royale, Eggs and Mushrooms and a traditional Hot Dog. All dishes were perfectly cooked and presented and very tasty. The portions were good so the dishes represented good value. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They have some good gin and a good whisky list. In addition some craft beers are available. All in all a nice experience.

A small, compact cafe with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Definitely a cut above the average park cafe - nice coffee and a good selection of cakes and traybakes. The breakfasts looked good as well.

I briefly popped into Waterfields today and I was very pleasantly surprised at the selection. The cakes and snacks were extensively stocked behind the counter and were very reasonably priced at under £2 each. I bought a cupcake with vanilla cream on top which was delicious! The staff serving were friendly, polite and efficient. You can also sit in to eat, if you wish. The only issue was that the loaves of bread/toasties were running out, then again it was 3pm so this was understandable. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit!

Expensive for what you get. Service was great but you can feel the place is just designed to get as much money as they can for what little they give

This used to be a good bar but is now just a high priced dog compound. 9 dogs in this very small bar. Wouldn't order food given the smell of dogs and lack of washing of hands by bar staff after feeding treats to the dog. Don't bother, there are better alternatives in Formby.
