You can't book a table here but the que moves quickly. Simple menu as in the name, Steak with a sauce served with fries. Two rounds of beautifully cooked beef, served at the table followed by a fabulous dessert menu. Exceedingly good value and excellent service.

I knocked a star off because I don’t like mustard/Dijon mustard and the salad dressing is full o Dijon mustard and the bread spread is full of it too so that made me and my friends unable to enjoy a lot of the meal. That being said the steak and fries were amazing and extremely filling!

Bear in mind that the way they charge such good prices is by getting people in and out as quickly as possible so don’t expect to sit and have a long drawn out meal! The house red is lovely and their signature sauce is also amazing. I visited the location in bank which has quicker queues but is extremely quiet with nothing else around!

Este es un restaurante sin reserva, cola y espera (si los miembros del grupo no están allí / tarde, con razón no te dejan sentarte hasta que todos estén presentes). Filetes de entrecot simples y fritas formato con un entrante de ensalada simple (sin otras opciones). Sin embargo, hay una gran selección de postres. El bistec y las fritas eran de buena calidad y de tamaño generoso. El servicio es muy rápido y la carta de vinos es limitada pero a un precio razonable para Londres. Fabulous experience. Once you've queued it's fast and very noisy but just concentrate on the food. I highly recommend it. Not for everybody. I was telling a friend about it and she asked me "what if you don't eat meat?"......I responded "you don't go there!".... I personally couldn't fault the food and service but found the noise made conversation difficult. Nonetheless definitely 5*.

If I was on death row, this would be my final meal. Food and service are always outstanding. This particular restaurant was too cramped for me though, I could barely hear the person I was eating with sadly which detracts from the overall experience. The Marylebone restaurant is much better IMO.

The famous L’Entrecôte serves everyone who walks in three items: salad, bread, and steak frites, all for £31. There’s no ordering when you sit down, they will only ask for your desired temperature - no in between temps either, only rare, medium and well done. You then get the salad and bread first, followed by the steak frites which comes in two servings. Firstly, the salad is walnut mustard and is known for its pungent dressing. If mustard is not entirely to your taste this may be too strong for you as it was for me. The bread is a good, crusty baguette which comes with no butter and is served with your salad. Nice tasting but wouldn’t say anything atypical from a supermarket baguette for example. To be honest, not a mind blowing start. Then the steak arrives almost immediately. This is the true star of the show. Since this is the only main dish they serve they have truly perfected it. I got mine rare and it came thinly sliced and perfectly cooked with a soft tender red centre. The steak comes doused in their house green sauce which is excellent especially with their hot crispy fries. The whole combination together is fantastic. The portion is decent too with plenty of fries and a decent sized second serving too. The whole dish is simple yet so effectively streamlined to be so good. We also had a try of their new rum baba dessert which was a rum and syrup soaked cake which came with whipped cream and a soaked orange. This was excellent and once again tasted fantastic when all elements of the dish were eaten together. Due to the simple menu, the service was extremely quick and our whole dining experience is done within an hour. My biggest concern is the sanitary implications when they plate the second helping of steak, fries, and sauce as the cutlery used in this process will often touch the plates they are serving on to. I noticed this whenever being served and would think there could be a more sanitary approach. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit. No booking so be sure to queue in advance of opening or visit during an off peak time like I did (Monday lunch). The place is also known to not allow too long of a stay after finishing your meal - especially when busy. However, you come here for a quick yet indulgent experience so this won’t matter anyways. A must try!

Not impressed. Long queues, underwhelming quality (you get a kilo of fries and 5 thin slices of mediocre steak, then 20 minutes later they offer to top it up once with another kilo of fries and 4 thin slices of mediocre steak, how generous), and seriously overpriced compared to similar restaurants of higher quality like Flat Iron or Cafe Francois. Pretty sure they used to give more steak, but this time it felt like they were running out of it.

El bistec era mejor y todavía se obtiene una doble porción de bistec con patatas fritas! Excellent restaurant. We went yesterday, Saturday and luckily we didn't have to wait in line. The meat is delicious and the sauce is exquisite. Very fast service and very friendly waitresses. The place is famous for one dish, the steak with fries. So if you go there you’ll know what you’ll get. They serve you salad first with a tasteful dressing. After that you can have your steak in one go or you could split it in two. They will offer a refill of chips for your second dish.

Two rounds of excellently cooked slices of what might be onglet steak with mounds of crispy fries and a sauce. We ordered a half bottle of wine - again no choice but a good red. No need to book but there are queues at busy times.

Fantastic for lunch. Brings back memories of France from bygone years when people were less fussy regarding diet. No menu for lunch! The meal starts with a walnut salad followed by steak (cooked bien cuit, a point, saignant, or bleu) with french fries and a house sauce. Better still, to avoid food going cold, they offer second helping of the main dish. Great house wine that comes in half bottles for those working after lunch. Still hungry? There is an excellent dessert menu. Judging from the queues, this restaurant has a format that works. Clearly a place for carnivores :-)

This is a real review straight after eating it. I honestly am surprised it got anything above 4 stars. The chips are small and crispy, honestly a delight along with their sauce. The steak is largely just a bed for the sauce, it's not particularly flavourful. Whilst the sauce and chips are nice it's nothing amazing. Think of it as good food for a price way too high. Its in the realm of Hawksmoor prices with a steak that's not even as half as good. You can get a good gravy which will easily matchup to the sauce. The sauce is nice and different to the typical sauces you can get with steaks, but different doesn't mean better. I'm a food guy so I'd give it a 3/5. Id go here if I particular wanted good chips, and a steak with a nice sauce and I was nearby and didn't mind spending 40 quid or so

The menu is simple—just steak and fries—but they do it to perfection, making it a must-visit spot for steak lovers. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. They don’t take bookings, so you’ll likely have to wait in a queue. Plus, they close for a break in the middle of the day, so timing your visit is important. The only downside is the customer service. While efficient, the waiters can be a bit cold and not very welcoming, which takes away from the overall experience. If they improved their service and made customers feel more valued, it could easily be one of the best French restaurants in London. All in all, fantastic food, but with room to grow in customer care.

Relais de Venise. Impresionante operación. Visito bastantes restaurantes cada año. Soy lo suficientemente pretencioso como para creer que tengo una buena vista de la escena del restaurante, especialmente en Londres. RDV es único en su clase. Solo un menú, el servicio es de grasas, se come en alrededor de 60 minutos. Calidad consistente. Haces cola, no reservas, sí tienes que estar con todos tus invitados cuando llegues (no puedes esperar a que lleguen sentados a tu mesa, ocupando una mesa durante demasiado tiempo). Sí, la carta de vinos es muy limitada y sí hay un menú impuesto. Solo te hicieron una pregunta: qué tan bien hecho o no quieres que esté tu ternera. Es un restaurante muy atípico, y me encanta! Si aceptas esa fórmula, entonces te encantará. Un poco como Ryanair: acéptalo o no vuele con él. ¿Pero por qué Ryanair es ahora la compañía aérea más grande de Europa y del mundo (+200 m pax pa) si no está haciendo algo bien? La calidad del servicio, con un personal que atiende entre 400 y 600 coberturas por día es humilde. Se lo he mencionado a bastantes culinarios multiestrella que conozco como un ejemplo de alta profesionalidad. Para ex, en la sucursal de la ciudad de RDV, hay una RM, llamada Aga (apodo que creo, supongo Agneta? ) : ella es buena! Obviamente, no es buena comida, pero siempre la paso bien cuando voy. Y en realidad es bueno. Ok la ensalada no es de primera calidad pero está más que bien. Y no olvides el precio, muy competitivo! Siempre me pregunté si una versión de pollo asado de un modelo de negocio así funcionaría. Siempre me pregunté. Seguro que lo pensaron. La misma fórmula: ¿una especie de "Poule de Venise"? ¡Todo el mundo como un pollo asado no?

Great Steak and Frites restaurant in the heart of The City’s Financial district. Situated in a quiet pedestrianised street, just behind The Bank of England. Normally a queue outside the door, as it’s really popular at lunchtime and early evening with City workers. Fixed price set menu for two courses. Food is served quickly and is very tasty, and you’re able to choose how you prefer your steak to be cooked. Crème brûlée was perfect,with a lightly caramelised top. This is definitely not a restaurant to take anyone who’s vegetarian!

We came here on a Saturday in Dec right before Christmas. We arrived at 2pm and there wasn’t a queue at all. We were served immediately. Although we were asked how would we like the steak done, we found it quite random. Some pieces were more cooked than others. The sauce went really well with the steak. However, the sauce might make the fries soggy. The service is alright, they serve very quickly. The table turn around time is quick. The house wine is pretty good and so affordable. We had a very good time there though we felt we were rushed a little bit.

I chose to eat here for my birthday, as I’ve eaten here before and enjoy the food. I brought two friends who had never experienced the restaurant before. One of my friends got delayed by a train issue and even though the restaurant was fairly empty the manager stuck to policy and made us stand in the entrance for half an hour. My friend told her it was my birthday and asked if we could sit to wait but she said no. Eventually, I think she took pity on us and she did allow us to sit but emphasised that she was only doing so as the restaurant was so empty. Our waitress came to ask if we wanted drinks and when I told her I was waiting for our friend she barked at me - raised voice - I could/ should order a drink whilst I waited. But I wanted to wait until my friend arrived in case she wanted to share wine with me and so my other friend ordered a coke to pacify her. This waitress proceeded to be incredibly rude. And our salad came in so much mustard dressing it was practically inedible yet the table next to us had salad of the usual standard. The whole meal proceeded in this manner - our second helpings didn’t come with sauce and I had to wait and specifically ask for it whilst my food got cold. My friend raised the poor service and the waitress then stopped serving our table. When we arrived another birthday person had the candle in a dessert treatment and all the staff sang happy birthay - my dessert was just normal. Even though I had a birthday card on the table, a bag of presents and the manager was aware. We made the best of it, and the steak was still tasty, but honestly? It was a horrible birthday experience and I felt embarrassed my friends had travelled some distance there on my request. I also felt like the treatment we got was markedly different from that of other customers and I won’t be returning.

For the price we pay the entire experience is unjustifiable. The place operates like a fast food restaurant if not worse cos the staff don't care about their customers. We went on a Saturday. We were queuing in the cold before the opening and the staff could see from inside, a line forming but they still opened their doors late after their official opening time. Steaks are not cooked consistently. Both of us ordered medium but one was medium and the other was well done. They'd evidently seen this disparity while serving us but they just don't care. You just have to see your luck on which pieces you get. Waitress wearing glasses with tattoos on her left arm was very rude. Tried to correct me on how to pronounce "Mont Blanc" while ordering the dessert when she was in fact pronouncing it wrongly herself! Go elsewhere for a good steak, this place is truly an embarrassment.

I had a great dining experience at L’Entrecôte in London. Although we had to wait around 20 minutes to get in, it was well worth it. The service was excellent, and the steak was absolutely delicious. I loved how they topped up the steak with a smaller portion—it’s a nice touch! The portion sizes overall are not bad, with plenty of fries, and the signature sauce is good. At around £32 per person, it’s good value for the quality and experience. Highly recommend giving it a try!

The food here is very tasty. The steaks can either be cooked medium or rare and you get two servings of your plate. The restaurant is very fast paced as it is very crowded and very busy. There is a line, on weekends atleast, that wrap around the building and if you do not line up before opening, you will have to wait around an hour for the first batch to finish their meals. Because the place was very crowded the service was a bit slow. I asked for a knife and it took asking twice to get one. There was also no salt or sauce for my table and we were asked if it was ok to share with the table next to us.

The unlimited steak is nonsense. I was served, offered seconds and that was it. The steak, fries and sauce are ok. However it doesn’t justify the large queue. Overhyped! The dessert menu lacks information as there’s only names and pictures of the puddings and no further information (ingredients), we were left wondering for some time until we’ve asked for the bill. Not bad, but wouldn’t recommend it.

Personal muy molesto y grosero. Teníamos una mesa para 5 reservados, pero 1 persona estaba llegando tarde debido a compromisos de trabajo. No nos sentarían a menos que todos estuvieran presentes. Esperábamos conseguir la mesa para 5 y ordenar para la persona que viene tarde, ya que teníamos un espectáculo para llegar. No nos permitieron esto y no eran complacientes. Entienda que los restaurantes tienen sus políticas, pero ser acomodaticios o mostrar flexibilidad a su clientela es una parte importante de brindar un buen servicio.

There is one meal on the menu, a sliced steak served with fries and a “walnut salat”. The steak was nice, yes. Salat and fries on the lower end of scale. Narrow seating, loud atmosphere and compared to other UK waiters staff might be described a bit pushy- although still polite. But we could feel it is not the individual guests that counts but the throughput. E.g. once we were just done they got us the bill without us asking.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the steak frites was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and served with a rich, flavorful sauce. The only downside is the price, which is a bit high, but if you're looking for a top-quality steak, definitely worth it.

Good experience overall . Steak, the steak sauce ,and the salad was fine but nothing special .The fries and dessert cakes (gateaux Relais) were excellent. -1 star for the steak being nothing special even though that’s the signature dish that you’re required to order

This was just not good, the steak was tough, kind of cold and the service was mediocre at best. I would not spend my money here again. Definitely do not go if you have to queue (thank god we didn’t). I have been to the L’Entrecôte in Bordeaux many times and the whole experience and the quality of food is far superior to the restaurant in London. It was one of my favourite places for a reliable meal when I was living in Bordeaux so I was excited to try the London restaurant but I was extremely disappointed. I will not be returning

Although I love steak, I have mixed feelings about this place. Let’s start with the atmosphere—I honestly can’t stand it. The chairs are packed so close together that you can hear every conversation around you, which makes it hard to enjoy your meal. The service isn’t great either; the restaurant is so busy that it takes ages for the staff to come back to you. Now, onto the steak review, which I know you’re waiting for. For the price, it’s not bad. That said, they really need to season the steak properly with salt—and the fries too! The sauce is definitely the star of the meal and carries the flavours. The fries are nice and crispy, but again, they need salt to really shine. All in all, it’s not bad for the price, and I’ll be coming back, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

I don't get the hype and I wouldn't come back. We ended up standing in a queue for ages to be seated, which is completely unnecessary and performative in 2024. And it's not "steak and chips twice"...it's about a third of a steak and a load of low-quality, barely warm French fries twice. The service is obviously geared towards getting people put as quickly as possible to clear the queue. The steak itself was nice and the sauce was excellent, but just not worth it.

Excellent set menu with salad and bread to start and steak and frites with sauce (twice) for the main, reasonable price and good food. Simple as you know what you're getting and it works- worth a visit. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and it wasn't so busy that we had to queue

Food is amazing for the price and actually you can eat as much as you want cause they serve and ask you if you want more Steak delicious and fries too They serve very fast but the only thing is they don’t give you time to eat so you have to rush. This is a branch of the famous Parisian restaurant. Be prepared for a lineup in the evening but the space is huge and it moves fast. It’s a noisy loud and crowded atmosphere, in a good way. They only serve one item, which is unlimited steak and chips for £31. This also includes a salad and bread (which was hot and delicious) Steak can be ordered, rare, medium or well done. The sauce that goes with it is delicious. Service is fast. Lots of dessert options as well. We had the meringue with icecream but in hindsight should’ve picked the sticky toffee. Overall amazing experience.

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. While the food and portion sizes were good, the service from one particular waitress completely ruined the evening. She was rude and rushed us through the order, which left me feeling uncomfortable and shocked throughout the meal. I’ve never experienced such poor treatment at a restaurant before. I traveled all the way from Southampton to spend a special evening with my friend and daughter, and this experience spoiled it. I hope the management takes feedback seriously so that other guests aren’t left feeling this way.

My friend invited me to dine at L'Entrecôte, a place I had never visited before. Although the restaurant looked lovely, the service was a shock. When I briefly went to the restroom, the waitress came over to ask how I wanted my meat cooked. Unsure of what she meant, I turned to my friend and spoke in French, confused because I hadn't realized the restaurant only had a fixed menu – I was expecting a regular menu before deciding on my order. Not fully understanding, I mentioned that I might not order, and my friend ordered just for herself and her daughter. The waitress, responding in French and quite rudely, said we couldn’t stay if I wasn’t planning to eat and that she’d need to check with her manager. Her tone was unprofessional and took me by surprise. My friend went ahead and ordered two meals, and when the salad arrived, she explained the concept to me. Concerned about my mustard allergy, I then noticed the sauce on the salad and meat and asked if mustard was in it. The waitress returned and, instead of being helpful, brusquely scolded me for not mentioning my allergy sooner. I explained that my friend didn’t know I had one. We had also asked for water, which she forgot to serve us. When they brought my salad back, it had no sauce at all – not even a simple olive oil dressing – and the same happened with my steak. When I asked if they could provide some butter, she flatly refused. For the steak, it wasn’t a big issue since a bit of salt and pepper did the trick, but it felt dismissive. The single-set menu concept is actually quite unique, but as a first-timer, I was caught off guard. A simple explanation would have made all the difference. The food itself – both the meat and portion sizes – was good, but the waitress’s attitude and lack of service really soured the experience for both me and my friend.

Good place to go every now and the . I like that they served us twice. Some of us did not like the gravy with the steak. Also they charged us for a dessert we did not have and then removed it (could have been a mistake). But overall recommend it for an informal but nice steak lunch!

Huge queues outside to get in and no bookings available. The queue moved fast enough and we got a table for six in fifteen minutes. There’s no menu, just a wine list and desserts. For starters there’s a tasty salad with nuts. For main it’s steak in a lovely sauce and chips. They ask how you want the steak done but all our steaks looked the same!! The plates looked like small portions but the waitress came round with second helpings of steak and chips so it was a good portion in the end. The red wine was ok, not amazing. The desserts were all excellent. I do recommend this place. We all enjoyed it and it’s a buzzing atmosphere inside with exemplary service. The price for our meals and half a bottle of wine each was about £60, which was very decent value.

Absolutely delicious smash burger. Thick enough to have the inside pink but smashed enough to get all the crusty bits. Brilliant and dangerous as a lunch option, particularly with clean taps and a good selection of craft beer.
