Regal Spice in Hillingdon

I arrived very early. At reception I advised that I had booked a table for one and my table was pointed our to me. My booking was not checked. I was not introduced to the buffet or a la carte menu and I was not told that nan bread and desert were included. I was told to help myself by a waitress who mostly stomped through the restaurant. A drinks menu was handed to me and no sparkling water appeared on the menu. The food was OK, but very salty. The chicken curry was overcooked and very dry. The ocre was, however, excellent. After 15 minutes the waitress announced that she would be closing as she was going to have her lunch. I looked at my watch and I was pleased that I had not arrived on time as I wouldn't have had time to eat anything. On leaving I presented my voucher and I was told that the buffet was not included and that I would have to pay and return to use the voucher. The waitress was quite adament. I explained that on arrival my booking was not double checked. After a lot of consternation the waitress reluctantly accepted my voucher, while another waitress put empty glass bottles into black bin bag general waste.

I come here regularly as I stay in the hotel close by for work. The service is great, interior feels like a cosy Indian restaurant and the food is very good too. I highly recommend if in the area. As before I have been here numerous times and there is always people eating in and orders flying out the door for take away.

Always quality delicious food and very reasonably priced. My wife works at a local school and this restaurant is chosen each year to provide the food for the end of year buffet. Highly recommend!!

Just been to Rara for the first times in ages and it’s even better than it was before! The buffet is exceptional value and the staff are lovely 10/10, just watch out for bones in the delicious lamb curry ;)

My son and I took visit last Thursday to this restaurant to try their buffet and the experience was extremely pleasant. Staff are attentive and ensure you have enough of everything, even though we did ask for extra naan. The food choices are lovely, but there are no kebabs, which was an extreme letdown, but then for £12.95 you really cannot complain. Chicken Samosas were okay, but too much potato in them than chicken, but my son loved the chilli paneer. The rice and naan is nice and fresh and the lamb curry was perfect. The chicken curry was tasty but chicken was way too hard as not soft as it should be. Desserts are fruit and the rasmalai on the day was a nice surprise even if the milk was metallic and slightly bitter in taste, but jalebi is an option depending on the day, Very pleasant place and if you go as a big group they will may make a buffet curry (like butter chicken) of your choice which was great to hear as we may come back as group next time. Overall, we enjoyed our buffet, liked the staff, place is pleasant to dine in and we left feeling that we got tremendous value for money. Well done!!

Came here for the lunchtime buffet. Nice selection of food, the lamb curry and chicken curry were delicious. Good vegetarian selection from aloo gobi, dhal Makhni and Chana masala. Kids loved the noodles and starters. Lovely service, very enjoyable meal.

Overall, the buffet lunch was good and enjoyable, except one dish (that was very chewy) and that's very honest feedback. The selection of overall dishes were good also. Service was really good when required and appreciate that. Definitely would visit again! Thanks.

Have visited this little restaurant many times and always experience a warm, friendly welcome. We have tried many dishes Momos, chilli chicken, curries and the carrot dessert all of which are delicious and never disappoint. Their buffet is also, excellent with a good choice and freshly made naan bread.

Lovely food. We have been here many times (thanks to some fantastic Groupon offers) and had a party with 50 people catered by Rara. The Sunday lunch buffets are excellent value and tasty. I bumped into a neighbour last week who is also a regular. Keep going what you do team Rara and I will continue visiting.

Can't fault my lunch time buffet. The Naan bread was cooked to order & super soft. There wasn't a vast choice of foods but the food on offer was hot, replenished often and delicious. The restaurant was comfortable and the service really attentive.

Recommend by a colleague who was fasting after gorging on the food at Rara a night before, we headed straight to the restaurant after work. I’m a sucker for fresh roti and naan from the fire oven and this place is a God sent. A true blend of Nepali and Indian flavours, with a fine dine kind of intimate setting, pristine white linen for napkins and table. As a vegetarian I enjoyed the tarka dal and a paneer dish which was spot on. The chutneys and pickles that accompanied papadoms were delicious, as was the starter hara bhara kabab. We each had a drink. The service was friendly and prompt. Even the toilets were clean and odour free (though one had run out of hand wash). Pescatarian husband enjoyed his prawn biryani. We booked online to visit this restaurant following a visit to the local cinema, all we can say is Wow- the experience was amazing from the very warm welcome, excellent service and to top it all the food was amazing so flavoursome, portions were extremely generous so much so we had some to bring home. When the bill came we were surprised to realise that we were given a discount as we’d booked online which was amazing , looking forward to going back very soon x

Sadly Regal spice isn’t what it used to be. This is my second bad meal now. I know more fool me but I wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves after the last takeaway! I had hope!!! But sadly, no redeeming was done and I’m somewhat sad to say that last night was my very last order from Regal Spice. Reasons why: The food comes up lukewarm. Delivery times are over an hourand how fresh it all is- Questionable. I really hope they turn things around if not I’m sure we will see another historic Ruislip restaurant bite the dust and be replaced swiftly by something better.

The buffet is not extensive, but is enough for £6.95. Most of the dishes I had were OK, not jaw-droppingly brilliant, but definitely OK. Very nice chicken curry (pasanda?). Good service. Will return.

We went here for lunch whilst staying at a hotel just around the corner. We had read about their "all you can eat" buffet, so thought it would be a good place to eat. We weren't disappointed. The food was all freshly cooked and there was a good variety of dishes available. We tried most of them, and they were all excellent, varying from mild dishes to hot chilli chicken - and all for £7 a head! It is a pity that we couldn't visit in the evening since we were only in London for 1 night to see Fleetwood Mac at Wembley.

Went to visit this restaurant with my family today for a Sunday buffet lunch. On entering this restaurant we were greeted by two lovely staff members. The buffet consisted of three course meal of which there were plenty of choices. The buffet was piping hot and was being topped up consistently with more hot food, and with freshly made Naan bread as part of the buffet. There were plenty of customers enjoying their meal. Atmosphere was very nice. The staff members Jamie and Chandrika were very helpful and polite and had a smile on their faces the whole time we were there. The price was just under £10 per person which is well worth it, and cheaper in the week days I believe. I would recommend this place to anybody who enjoys Indian food. I would definitely go back there again. Thank you once again Jamie and Chandrika.

Visited RS with a friend for their buffet lunch. Cannot say it was the best Indian cuisine, but it was tasty enough and the buffet offered a fair variety of dishes; starters, main courses and desserts. We were also served fresh naan bread at no additional cost. Atmosphere was a little lacking as we were the only ones there for much of the time, but the restaurant seemed clean enough and boasts a 5 star hygiene rating. Service was friendly. Surprised there were so few diners availing themselves of the good value lunch deal.

Although we have no complaints about the food there is also nothing outstanding. We were there for the Sunday buffet. Quite expensive for what they were offering, the largest portion of the meal was the chutneys, bread, salad and poppadum's. Service stops at 2 which we thought was too early, when we arrived fruit was available but by the time we have finished our meal all that was left a few orange segments. This restaurant urgently needs a referb, (really didn't want to sit on the old dirty seats). The staff were lovely but scruffy. The main bug bear was having someone (staff) putting leftovers in tubs when we were still trying to enjoy our visit and having to wait for quite some time to pay our bill. Once they up their game it could be a lovely place to take friends.

They called me, couple of times, and offered discount since they thought they have improved and I accepted (not the discount but their offer of good service and food). They failed so badly that they couldn't even apologize correctly as the food was literally raw (again) and microwaved. They tried to prove that its other way but forgot that I follow Gordon Ramsey and I know when food is cooked or microwaved.

Recently got a takeaway from Spice in Ruislip Manor. Food was excellent and great value. Will definitely be back for more!

Visited RS.to treat my son , the minute we entered things did not seem right ;Welcome after a minute of waiting by the door ,Dirty tablecloth,Stale and Tasteless food. Staff busy (Mobile) no refills asked.The only consolation was Tadka Dal replaced for a stale veg.dish had to be enjoyed by me alone others refused.

I was looking for a Nepali Indian restaurant having experienced some excellent cuisine in other locations

It is with a heavy heart that after visiting this establishment over the last 15 years living locally, we will as a family have to go somewhere else.

We have been here quite a lot over the years and always find the food good, very good value and very helpful staff.

Had a lovely curry. Just a little quick given main course whilst still eating the starters. Was quick efficient service. Would recommend a visit.
