Refuel in City of London, Westminster

This is the 2nd week in a row we have dined at the Soho Hotel for Sunday lunch. The food is perfect, but it's the service of the whole team that makes our visits so very lovely. Staff are friendly, warm and attentive without being over attentive. We look forward to many return visits.

Love Refuel, both the bar and restaurant - never fails to give me a great experience, service, hospitality, food and drink. Being in the hospitality business myself, Refuel/Soho hotel totally refreshes my belief that offering a great dining experience isn’t rocket science if you think it’s important - and they do!

Quirky unique interior design. Cocktails and service were first class. Didn't try the food. Highly recommended.

Visited on a Sunday for some drinks. Cheerfully greeted by the doormen. It was quite empty, We sat at the bar and the barman was really helpful answering any questions about the cocktails and helping to make suggestions. The cocktails are beautifully made and well balanced, with some unusual ingredients and flavours. It feels like a hidden gem away from the bustle of the soho streets.

Fabulous from start to finish! Came back to eat at Refuel as you really can't beat this great place. But we had the best experience with the most fantastic team. Greeted by a lovely Spanish lady who was so naturally smiley and happy, she showed us to our sofa table and was so warm. She then handed us over to Eddie. What a star he is. We love Eddie. Great wine choices too, and he really made our evening. We met another member of the team who was great, he recommended the chocolate fondant to us with such praise that we had to try it. And I am still thinking of it now. It was delicious. The food was incredible, but the atmosphere and the way we were looked after was second to none. We will be back to see your team again as they made our night. Thanks so much Eddie and team....you all deserve great things!

Our dinner experience here was faultless, from start to finish. The staff, particularly Natalia, couldn’t do enough for us. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table and every staff member we encountered was charming and efficient. We were having an early pre-theatre dinner and had had lunch, so wanted to share 2 starters, a main and a side dish. No problem at all. We enjoyed every dish, particularly the ham hock terrine and the cod, beans and chorizo. The ambience is vibrant yet relaxing and a welcome oasis of calm in frenetic Soho. As usual Kit Kemp’s interior design hits the mark. Our visit was prompted by my having a 20% off voucher from The Times, which was a very nice reduction in the price. However, we will most definitely visit again.

Fabulous devil wears Prada afternoon tea. Great service from start to finish

Lovely ambience and the staff were great, however i personally found it quicker to order the drinks at the bar, then nip out to the ship for a quick pint and be back in time for our drinks to arrive. 10/10 would recommend

Ive been going for nearly 20 odd years to Soho Hotel for drinks in the bar or lounge. Generally had great service and they make up any cocktail. Not tonight. Myself and partner sat at an empty table, and were then asked to leave as it was reserved. When I suggested they should have a sign to avoid people settling in, waitress was rude and dismissive. No attempt to help find somewhere else. Shame other places dont link to avios but there are plenty of other choices.

Went here for a three course meal and a film (Gladiator 2) in the private cinema in the basement of the hotel. The staff were wonderful and so friendly and the food was superb. I will definitely visit again.

Had a lovely dinner here, food and drinks were spot on, ambiance and atmosphere too. The sharing chicken pie is delicious. Our waitress was efficient, but a little surly and perfunctory; it wouldn't take much to smile and make the customer feel special. That said, I'd go back tomorrow.

Amazing range of cocktails. The starters were very delicious but the mains were disappointing - probably because we had high expectations after having the starters. Would recommend only for cocktails, starters and the atmosphere

Fabulous place to visit away from the bustle of Soho. Exceptionally lovely hosts, who brought out a birthday cake when it was casually mentioned! Even sent a concierge to get us a ticket. Brilliant afternoon and will be back. X

Llevábamos bastante tiempo queriendo probar este restaurante y sin duda no nos decepcionó. Disfrutamos de relajarse con una bebida en el bar antes de nuestra comida, un ambiente tan vibrante. Nuestra hija se unió a nosotros para la comida, habiendo reservado solo para dos, nuestra mesa se cambió sin problemas. Cada aspecto de nuestra experiencia gastronómica fue excelente. Servicio fabuloso y la comida era sensacional. Sin duda volveremos.

Will not be coming here again ..waitress was rude ..failed to clear the table properly..we could feel she was annoyed with us as we sat at an uncleared table ..she cleared half of it and left ...then didn't bring a menu and went and served someone who had sat down well after we had arrived . Eventually got a menu off the owner ..ordered food and drinks which was very average when it arrived ...asked for another coffee and she practically chucked it at us ...then asked for the bill which didn't arrive .had to ask again and eventually the owner brought it over ..not a good experience at all so will not come here again . And we have been several times in the past ..awful

We had a large group Birthday lunch at Refuel. Everything was perfect, from the very responsive reservation and pre-ordering process, to the delicious and well presented food, excellent service and wonderful ambience. Thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon! I will be returning!

The Afternoon tea (themed after The Devil wears Prada) was bad unfortunately. The sandwiches were very boring and the bread dry, the scones were actually quite alright, but the cakes were just terrible, very little flavour, only sugar butter and colourings. I also noticed no free refills (not that we wanted more…but which afternoon tea venue does no refills??), and one of the cakes was a lipstick-shaped piece of sugary-something that came in a thick plastic cylinder. I really hated to be served disposable plastic. The overall experience for me personally was a big no, and certainly not worth the price. The two stars are only because the scones were ok, and the china quite pretty. Staff were ok too. But overall no good, sorry.

I’m really struggling to say anything nice at all about this “Devil wears Prada” afternoon tea. Service was below average (no explanation of what was being served, noisy environment, no refills at all), sandwiches were average, portions were tiny. The worst thing though were the cakes: apart from the chocolate and coffee one, they were completely gormless and tasteless. For almost fifty quid per person (plus service) this is utterly unacceptable. Oh, I almost forgot the lipstick gimmick, also completely tasteless and contained in a single-use plastic container. Abysmal experience.

The young english? porter who was happy to answer my questions on whether i could have my tea and work in the drawing room or the library really set the mood for my visit. He was so efficient and helpful and knew exactly which room best suited my request. The restaurant manager / supervisor (suited man)at the restaurant's little reception area welcomed me with a beautiful smile and was able to inform me about what to expect during my visit. He even escorted me to the library and was so attentive and lovely while doing so. Made me calm and happy after trudging through the rain. then, oh then, there was Julia, my waiter. She was ever so wonderful, attentive, intuitive and made sure i knew everything i needed to know about what was available. She even helped me workout what might best suit me as i had a tummy ache at the time. She was so so delightful i had to write in praise of her! Note - I went in n a very rainy Monday afternoon so that i would have a quiet place to work on my creative projects.

Lovely lunchtime movie downstairs followed by a set lunch doubleheader. Had a croque-Monsieur before the film started, which was warm, puffy, delicious. The mushroom soup starter was a wonder, the chicken and vegetable garnish main and tarte Tatin desert were well executed. The portions are generous so probably not worth having a snack before the meal. Made for a fun, relaxed and leisurely Sunday. Recommended 👍🏽

Had the three course menu on a Sunday. The soup was delicious however the flavours of beetroot and mushroom roast didn’t blend well. The Yorkshire pudding was overdone and the vegetables lacked flavour. The sauce was too sweet. The tartan for desert was odd, the apples were overpowered by rum or another alcohol of choice. I enjoyed the mushroom soup but given the price I went home and had another dinner :) that said I cannot fault the ambience and excellent service - well done to you. Just a let down by the chef

Wow. Had a LOVELY 4 course birthday lunch with my sister. She treated me. The staff were AMAZING. Robyn, accommodated our change of time, confirmed our offer was in place, and was lovely on the phone. Ali and Edy our wait staff (apologies for misspelling) were engaging, thoughtful and intelligent. Every staff person made our experience a delight. Poor Edy had no choice but listen to my sister’s new kitten stories 😱 (admittedly, the kitten is beautiful). I have loved Firmdale for a long time. I love the Kit Kemp design. We will be back. Every Firmdale hotel is stunning ❤️❤️❤️

Our experience at Refuel was incredible. After trying numerous afternoon teas that were double the price, we thought we would try something new. The quality of the food was incredible - soft, fresh sandwiches, great scones and a delicious sweet selection. The drinks were perfect and our waitress Georgiana was super efficient, remembered our choice of milk and went above and beyond to make us feel special. Highly recommended and will definitely be back again.

I recently visited for a coffee and was delighted by the experience. Jamie greeted me with a warm smile and provided exceptional customer service. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to help made my visit truly enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful dining room and superb service. I had breakfast, which was included with my room. I had the English breakfast with beans, no blood sausage. Food was delicious. I also had afternoon tea which was equally as good. Service was superior. Service is phenomenal followed by their brekkie. Highly recommend you try their chia seed pudding. Best ive ever had. Also had great tea

I tried the: Slow cooked blade of beef and garlic mashed potatoes for £28. It was absolutely sublime, so much so that I am leaving a review 3 weeks on. The beef was tender, the sauce /gravy was so deep with richness and flavour, the garlic mash was so silky smooth. If you google best braised beef in London you get sporadic results….. however let me assure you this should be the number 1 result. I will most definitely go again and hope this dish remains on their menu. It is expensive, but what isn’t these days, as far as fine dining goes, this restaurant is actually fairly reasonably priced.

Congratulations! You have discovered the most expensive bar in Soho! Don't get me wrong the cocktails are fantastic and the staff are lovely but if you're looking for a bar on a budget this is not the place for you (that's kind of why you're always guaranteed to get a seat when you go). Easily one of Soho's little secrets, You don't need to be staying at the hotel to enjoy food in the restaurant or a drink at the bar. Just remember to go with somebody else who is paying for you 😉

Service was nice. Manager came over several times to warmly ask how I was doing. Where this place falls short is with their sandwiches for the tea. The bread is dry and the fillings are lazy and odd. The egg sandwich had no yolk. So odd that the sandwich was only made with egg whites. The sandwich spreads they used helped but overall the flavor for the sandwiches was simply flat. Scones were tasty. Sweets I wasn’t a fan but I feel that’s more a personal choice than me saying they are bad.

One is always worried when you recommend a dining establishment for an 'anniversary celebration.' But, alas - I needn't have feared. The food was gastronomic, the service platinum - and it would have been absolutely perfect, if the restaurant wasn't that empty (but, it was very early).Would I come back - 'hell, yeah.' Thank you for making it SO special - the 'small gift plate' at the end was the proverbial cherry!

Smart hotel bar. Great service - water served on arrival and regularly topped up. Happy to pay £15.50 for a glass of champagne but not so keen on the 12.5% service charge added to the bill.

Great drinks, very proper and well mannered staff. Ambience was lovely. I love how the bar leaned into it's history and we had quite the fun learning about it and why the quirky and colorful decor - and the drinks- are what they are. 10/10 will recommend

Rather adversed to the commercial aspect of Valentine’s Day outings I made an exception to my rule and took my girlfriend there for her first ever Valentine’s dinner. Delicate task, even in London, to find affordable places with sophistication which offer sufficient vegetarian options. The food was delicious, the ambiance of the place was perfect, the music good and not overwhelming, the deco modern and tasteful, and above all a fantastic service delivered by a very affable, accommodating and professional staff (at a time when so many places nowadays shamefully fail on that plan). Thank you very much for a wonderful experience and for making that first Valentine dinner one to remember! We will be back soon to explore further what your chef has to offer.

Fantastic restaurant, nice staff and great food! We had the Sunday roast set menu for 30 GBP. I had the smoked salmon and toast for starters, then the mushroom risotto (super large portion, good for 3 people), and for dessert I had raspberry sorbet! Fantastic food and amazing place! Check it out!

Refuel is a hidden gem in Soho. It is fabulous space, food is very good and service so friendly and efficient. It is on the tad side of expensive however but then again this is the Westend. I shall return

We had a magical evening at Refuel. Popped in for a post theatre cocktail and ended up working our way through the incredible cocktail and gorgeous bar snacks menu - staying the whole evening! The team were slick, friendly, and really cared, as they bought the menu to life with wonderful suggestions and recommendations. Stefano was our waiter, he was lovely. Kevin the Food and Beverage Manager is the perfect host, and was personally ensuring guests were being well looked after. We chatted to him about the fabulous guest mixologists visiting from Henrock, his enthusiasm was infectious. We loved the cocktails we had from this menu and we moved to sit at the bar which was absolutely mesmerizing, and so atmospheric. Jaime was fab demonstrating a real eye for detail in her presentation. We are now absolutely hooked, will not be able to visit Soho without swinging by. If you're looking for exquisite cocktails in a stylish and elegant setting, with friendly and top notch service… look no further!

Located inside the Soho Hotel, this beautiful restaurant/bar serves amazing cocktails. It's also a great place to hangout with friendly bartenders. Had the best old fashioned here that I've ever tasted. Will be back to try their other cocktails in the future.

Just to say that while the food was good, the place was quiet, but Jo the server was just outstanding on service. If I could give her six stars, I would. She made a rainy night in Soho a warm evening for my wife and me.

Great place for a business meeting over breakfast

The food is tasteless and very expensive for what they serve. Their main dishes is from 30 pounds. They have a beautiful atmosphere and quite quiet, so it’s perfect if you need something quieter in Soho. The service is very friendly and polite. The drinks are normal and wine list ok. The next day I had other dinner and it was cheaper with a better experience and made me regret about my choice of Soho Hotel. I would recommend for drinks but never ever for food. Photos of starters only, the pasta later was not good at all, i added salt 5 times.

Great spot to a quick pit stop or just to hangout however the cocktails are bland and the smoked almonds, not so smoked! Whilst the barman was happy to re-work the cocktails, the server, Mariam, saved the evening from being a wash-out. She was excellent and a credit to the establishment!

Very attentive and informative staff. Great variety of drinks, I didn’t see many non alcoholic ones but you can ask for any drink and staff will try their best to do it. The only annoying thing was pouring camomile tea to my cup, as it has loose tea leaves it blocks the pot of tea sometimes and loads of tea spills over. Maybe investing in having a strainer inside the teapot would work better. Aside of my struggle with the camomile tea and massive spillage, every other drinks were amazing and some very unique. As a regular customer, Refuel certainly only gets better and better. We never really stayed for food, but I hope they have some vegan options!

Arrived for a 5 party booking and we were welcomed and seated immediately. Ellie was our assigned waitress for the evening. She was both polite and attentive. She made good recommendations enabling us to make fully informed choices. The food came in good time with everyone in our party being served simultaneously. Ellie also ensured we were all ok for drinks and that all was to our satisfaction. She gave the sense that nothing was too much trouble. The only slight issue we had, if one’s to be at all mentioned was the music being a little loud for concentrating on meaningful conversation. Other than that, a lovely time had. Would definitely recommend a visit and meal … Oh… and ask for Ellie… she’s a credit to the establishment.

Can't quite believe the review given by GreekHalf as it was absolutely nothing like our experience. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome with all the staff we encountered being very friendly and attentive. Totally on the ball when your glass needed a refill, checking the food was to our liking, plates needed clearing etc. The restaurant was absolutely spotless. So were the loos. No sticky anything anywhere!! The food... So good! Very tasty. Very fresh. Beautifully presented. Maybe there weren't certain spirits available, but there was a huge choice of some very interesting cocktails for the more adventurous customer. The wine list was exceptional and served perfectly chilled (white, obviously). Nothing to moan about. Everything was great!!!

My eldest son suggested that I, along with his younger brother, meet up for a mini-reunion in May 2023 at Refuel Restaurant at the Soho Hotel. Never having been there before I didn't know what to expect, but I need not have worried as the ambience was terrific; lively, animated and just the right background for the perfect mother-and-sons-reunion! Added to which, the staff were wonderful; attentive without being intrusive, helpful as opposed to bored and unwilling to offer advice about what to choose on the menu, observant so that our glasses were never empty, and empty plates were never left to stand long before they were discreetly whisked away. Congratulations to Refuel Restaurant for employing such professional staff. They made us feel very special and welcome. With regards to the cuisine, the menu is varied, well prepared and tasty. And importantly, you are not kept waiting long for your food. I would certainly return to Refuel Restaurant; especially for a special celebration.

A hotel bar/ restaurant inside Soho Hotel. The main utility for me is you can have tea and coffee after 7pm there (as opposed to beer and other alcoholic drinks). It is a struggle to find anywhere to go in London (and UK in general) if you don’t drink. This one is a nice refuge in that sense. The selection of desserts seem a little bit odd. I had rhubarb and custard millefeuille and it was ok.

Amazing! Loved it! The drinks were really good and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab toast. The entrees were beautifully plated and very good, though they did need a bit of salt. Overall would def recommend.

An incredibly beautiful oasis of calm professionalism in the heart of Soho. The staff are so patient and accommodating. Cocktails and snacks are amazing in the bar, the restaurant is lovely and the toilets are so gorgeous. Love it here!

Went here for Valentine’s Day with my fiancée. The food and service was amazing. They really look after us and made sure that we’d have the best experience. Compliments to the chef and all kitchen staff. The only thing I don’t like about the place is when the car headlight goes through the restaurant. It was a bit disturbing whenever there a car going to the hotel. But overall it’s good ;)

Strange decor - appeared messy and unkempt. Large drinks selection but no Tia Maria of Kahlua (staple in most bars today). Dirty sticky tables (made me shudder) , food bland and tasteless. Staff uninterested and certainly not bothered about offering a good service. Only pleasant face was the front doorman ( and the large Chinese statue in the foyer)..on the way out. Not worth the effort - or money.

Came here for the 100 days anniversary with my girlfriend and it was amazing. They even prepared a cake for us & wrote a nice message. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

This is a really nice hidden gem! Went for dinner on a Friday. Friendly and prompt service, tasty food, and good options. Nice atmosphere as well. The appetizers were underwhelming, I would say, but the main was incredible.

Booked with open table for 730. Arrived at 725. 755 still no one came to see us for drink or anything else. Maybe busy but at least some knowledge of the staff… I went to the hostess to tell her that we will leave as no one came to us. And she say that fine I will tell my manger and let us go …. Well I am in industry but come one I thought hotel had a minimum of customers service…

Visiting from NYC and staying with my sister who lives on the outskirts of London I booked High Tea for my family and sister. They tried to place us right by the entrance but declined and waited for table more on the inner portion of the restaurant. The bubbly was nice and the food offerings for the high tea was yummy.

Great vibe, lovely artwork and service good. Yes it’s not cheap but lovely comfortable sofas to enjoy champagne with family!

Great ambience Good food We originally had the set menu in mind when we booked our reservation but it was explained that from Wednesday to Friday the set menu stops at 7pm. There’s still the option of enjoying the choices from the bar menu but I opted for the Chicken curry and cheesecake for dessert. For drinks I had a lemonade as wasn’t having alcohol though there was a great drinks menu including the house cocktail selection (or your favourite if not listed). Great helpful staff and when we explained it was a joint birthday celebration they gave us some delicious cake with fruits.

This is a lovely restaurant for special events. I dined here with my sister after a private movie screening in The Soho Hotel, to celebrate both of our birthdays. AMBIANCE & SERVICE ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Dimly lit - we dined past 9pm - which creates a really chill vibe. The staff were super welcoming and friendly, and helped out a ton with choices and perks to celebrate. FOOD ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 I ordered the lamb mains, and apple and berry pie for dessert. I was given both custard to drizzle, and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream as well. DRINKS ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Ordered the Damn-quiri, which had pomegranate in it. Sour and just perfect; not at all what you’d expect. Blended so well, you couldn’t taste the alcohol. Kudos to the bar staff.

I HAVE SEEN DOWNSTAIRS ON THE TOILET WICH IS NEXT TO THE KITCHEN OR WHERE THEY STORE FOOD, SOME COCKROACH , ALSO THEY CLEAN THE GLASSES JUST WITH WATER AND BY HAND NO EVEN WITH SOAP ! . I'VE BEEN TELL BY HIS STAFF THAT THEY USED EVEN THE SAME SPONGE TO CLEAN EVERYTHING
