Quite the poorest value fish and chips I have tasted in a long time. The extortionate price of £10 was not reflected in the quality of the regular-sized meal I ordered, nor in the surliness of the individual who served me. The piece of fish was not freshly cooked. The batter was thin and the contents were dry and unpalatable. I had to throw the meal away. I feel that a score of 2 is over-generous as there were few-if any-redeeming features.

Stopped as kids fancied fish and chips, we've not been here before. Place looks clean and modern. Chips were lovely but the battered cod was awful dry, i had to cover it in ketcup but even that couldn't make it better, threw half of it away which was a shame.

Local chippy for the area recommended by our family so we all 7 had a fish & chip meal. It was hot & tasty & plentiful. Would buy there again for sure. Average prices for the area.

Can't fault the service and the food was exceptional. The size of the portions incredible. Not sure we needed the starters. The plates on tables around us just looked amazing. Well done all.

We'd just been for a long walk in the driving wind and rain. We were wet and cold! Called in here for a coffee. Instead asked for a mulled wine and were treated to the most wonderful carefully prepared drink in beautiful glasses - perfect for the circumstances. Warm welcome and warm open fire too!

Disappointed with my visit. I was served reheated chips that were soggy, stale, and completely lacking in flavor. It was clear they weren’t fresh, which is unacceptable for a chip shop. I expect hot, crispy chips, not leftovers warmed up. Definitely not worth the money—won’t be coming back anytime soon. Fish was also very soggy

I’m unfortunately disappointed with our recent visit to The Woodman Inn, especially as a large family who has been booking with them for four years. The service was rude and unprofessional from the older gentleman serving us, who was abrupt and dismissive throughout our visit. When paying, he was rude and accusatory, insisting I had underpaid, which made me feel undermined and uncomfortable. He was also aggressive with the card machine, pushing it towards me without any politeness. After I complained, they refunded the service fee but didn’t take any accountability and had a fairly defensive response rather than apologetic. While the food was good, the lack of warmth and poor service left us very disappointed. No customer should be treated with rudeness, and we’ve noticed many other reviews on Google mention similar behaviour from him, with even worse examples! It seems he also has very little patience for dogs and children too, which he expressed in his reply to me and is evident in previous reviews. We think the place has real potential, but there needs to be major improvement in the gentleman’s approach.

I love Yummy Thai. Always welcoming and the food is great. It is an absolute god send that they are now on just eat so when ordering a takeaway no longer consists of kebabs and pizzas, horrible and late food. Pre-ordered my dinner for today and I am sure I won't be disappointed!
