Reeve the Baker in Wiltshire

I would have given one star because the outdoor seating is ruined by smokers and people vaping, but wife said the coffee was ok tasting so two stars. Coffee was served in a cardboard cup despite advertising on window stating Fresh Bean Coffee and the overall look suggesting an artisan bakery. It’s just a Greg’s in a different coloured suit.

Standard bakery in the heart of Salisbury, it won't blow you away but it won't disappoint either. I went twice during my stay and would go again.

Main street/square place for a quick snack. Popular as a lot of queues. Very good value hot snacks, obviously very popular with locals, shoppers and tourists

Great choice in the cafe particularly their afternoon tea is great value for money. Food is always fresh and tasty. We visit regularly.

I needed breakfast/brunch and so ordered coffee and a bacon baguette. The coffee was good but the bacon baguette was taken from their window display and then reheated. So the bacon was dry and not succulent; the baguette hot - I like it crispy fresh-baked but not steaming. So beware if ordering from the bakery display. The outdoor seating gives fine views over the now much improved square. Clients a bit iffy on the day I visited; I think it is seen as a cheap eat.

Good selection of tasty and fresh rolls and sandwiches. They will make up any combinations. Coffee is not good but Cafe Nero is opposite

We popped in here for a light bite before my son had to catch a train. We decided to sit in the restaurant upstairs but didn’t realise it had a more extensive menu than the bakery downstairs. We were about to leave as my son only had a short time to eat before catching his train. The Supervisor overheard us and offered to serve us immediately. She suggested he could have something from the bakery. We ordered a pasty and she immediately sent a waitress to collect his order. Fantastic attentive service. All the staff were very friendly and knew a lot of the locals. We went on to order from the menu and the meals were excellent. We saw the trays of afternoon teas being served and these looked amazing. Would definitely recommend this place for quality food either from the take away downstairs or for a sit down light lunch.

Visited here for the first time and some lunch in the upstairs restaurant whilst visiting the area on holiday as when previously visited could not get in as too busy. The area was warm, nice and welcoming with staff polite and friendly. We only had to wait a couple of minutes whilst the only available table was cleared/cleaned. The menu was well thought out, varied with reasonable prices. I opted for a warm teacake, butter and jam whilst my Parter chose the rarebit with bacon. Drinks consisting of a hot chocolate and pot of tea were also ordered. Food and drinks all arrived promptly, hot and very tasty. Enjoyed so much that we also bought some freshly made cakes for tea! Found the overall experience to be a very pleasant one and will definitely be returning when next visiting in February 2020 when will will choose the tea for 2 (as we saw when the couple sitting next to us ordered this and it looked fantastic!). Would highly recommend any Reeve bakery/restaurant to those who have yet to sample their delights!

Make sure you buy their stollen slices or cake around christmas - better than anything I've tasted in Germany! Bread selection is excellent. Only gripe I have is their flaky pastry is under done - nearly always soggy.

Chicken and Mushroom pasties absolutely gorgeous. Everything in the shop is so appetising.. Reasonable prices for a City eating place. I will definitely be going back in a few weeks.

am Hauptplatz englisches cafe von gutem Niveau. nachmittags recht voll. typische engl Kuchen mit viel Biskuit oder nahrhafte Schnittchen sind das program. feingebäck französischer art ist in England selten Programm doch wir man immer was leckeres einfaches finden.

Spoilt for choice. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for. The selection is very comprehensive and extremely tempting.

What can I say but this is a must on your food list in Salisbury. A wide selection of pastries and sweets, and a vast choice of breads. All fresh backed. Breakfast roles, brownies. The cinnamon roll was to die for.

This place is great, there are a couple of branches in Salisbury. The one on the main square has inside and outside tables and a loo (or two). My favourite is the peppered steak pasty - light pastry and a meaty well peppered gravy inside. We have tried the chicken and leek pasty and the boxed salads. The coffee is good too.

Upsatirs above the bread-and-cakes shop. Pleasant service, traditional seating, decent pot of tea and cake. This is an old-fashioned tea shop, and all the better for that.

Saturday 24 November 2018, after mooching round Mompession House my husband and I were in need of refreshments before we did some shopping in the lovely Salisbury shops. We went into Reeves, to their upstairs restaurant. My husband had a lovely Moroccan Spicy Soup with fresh crusty bread and a nice pot of tea. I had the cheese on toast, which I thought would be small. It was two huge slices of sour dough bread with a wonderful cheese and onion topping and came served with a nice fresh crisp salad and potato crisps. The cheese on toast was sublime and I washed this lovely lunch down with a large hot chocolate. If you want a nice place for lunch at a reasonable price in nice comfortable place with friendly staff then this is the place to visit when you want to go shopping in Salisbury.

He usado Reeves en varias ocasiones para nuestro desayuno del sábado por la mañana y no me ha decepcionado en absoluto. Hay una buena selección para el desayuno, que incluye huevos Benedict, salmón ahumado y huevos revueltos, solo tostadas y conservas, y el buen inglés completo, que es enorme, extremadamente bien preparado y muy bien presentado y mucho mejor valor que algunos de los otros. Establecimientos en la zona. .

Nos metimos en Reeves para un desayuno. Solo parecían tener un miembro del personal y luego tuvimos que ir a buscarla. Tuvimos que esperar un poco para que llegara el desayuno y no son baratos. No creo que me gustaría volver corriendo aquí.

Stopped here for an afternoon snack. Helpful staff and friendly. Seating upstairs or outside. Not expensive. Worth half an hour for a delicious, sweet, snack. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.

We had a wonderful lunch sitting out at tables on the street. Food was very good and very fresh. Service was at the counter and it was fast and efficient.

Customers were ordering and leaving after 30 minutes because they ran out of time we waited 40 minutes outside for a salad they had prepacked in the fridge ready to be delivered with two slices of bread and a filled jacket potato, 3 times we were told it was on its way we too were about to leave when it arrived. Perfectly ordinary food.

As usual we had a very tasty lunch here, in nice surroundings and a good price, with great staff serving the food. We also indulged in cakes from the bakery to eat later!

This traditional baker has, more or less, cornered the market in Salisbury centre for its delicious snacks. Apart from the sandwiches and rolls they sell freshly made pasties, sausage rolls, pizzas etc.

Wonderful selection of cakes and pastries and a gorgeous smell of fresh bread. Only problem we had was deciding what to eat, and ended up taking away a small bag of goodies for later. Highly recommended!

Always busy when grabbing a quick snack to take away but it's always busy for a reason! Yummy stuff for years and hasn't changed.

We stopped in here for lunch and grabbed a few things to eat... oh my goodness. So good! I had a beef pasty, and it was seriously, the yummiest thing I ate on our entire trip to England. The pastry was flaky and delicious, and filled with warm deliciousness! We had some other breaded items that were equally tasty. I would definitely recommend!

Just the best - very fresh, use the best ingredients, innovative, always busy, great choice of bread, savoury and sweet, love the coronation chicken on ciabatta and macaroons in particular

My family, a friend and I visited this quaint bakery today and had a wonderful time. It is tucked away in the corner of the Salisbury shops: finding it felt like winning a treasure hunt! The food was fresh and exceptionally tasty. There was also a wide variety and quite a few vegetarian options. The staff were very well trained and really helpful: nothing seemed like too much. It was also lovely to see a man coming past us with a big tray of hot food, highlighting the freshness of the goods.

Saliti al primo piano abbiamo preso due toast pensando ai nostri soliti italiani...invece sono arrivati due ricchi toast giganti con verdura e salsine varie. Possibile anche consumare al piano ristorante le torte della panetteria al piano inferiore, consiglio caldamente quella al rabarbaro che arriva calda di forno

You only need to look at the queue to realise the bread is good. Great selection , great bread, a real must

Un salto en 4 rollos de pan blanco suave. Dividida en dos zonas de la tienda. En un lado, pasteles pasteles y sándwiches. En el otro lado predominenly panes artesanales. Bien actualmente pero caro. Mi petición no podía ser cumplido así que nos fuimos a otro lado! Desde la tienda de ventanas acogedor High Street.

We stopped in for a quick bite. There was quite a line but it moved quickly and the staff was efficient. The cases contained many wonderful options and we enjoyed the take away sandwich that we got!

Stopped in the middle of Salisbury for a bite to eat. I sat in the sun in the outside seating area with table service. I had a poppy seed bagel stuffed with thick cut well cooked bacon (just how I like it) and a large Cappuccino which was also great. I decided to grab a takeaway baguette to stuff in my pocket for lunch. Waitress was really nice. I'd go back and a nice change from the usual coffee stops.

We stopped here for a snack while wandering the Salisbury streets on our first afternoon in town. Plenty of baking choices, savoury and sweet, and very reasonable prices. The items we chose were all tasty and good value. Would stop here again.

Have visited before and always found it good, but on this occasion the staff were busy and were quite rude, we left in disgust.

Nearer the main shopping street so it does a lot of takeaway business. Same good quality hot and cold baked goods. The cheese straws and their hot cross buns are excellent

We stopped by on our way to Stonehenge. The coffee was good and the pastries were yummy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Worth the stop in you in the area.

On a very cold day visit to Salisbury, we wanted something HOT and finding Reeve the Bakers offering a wide variety of tempting delights. We opted for 'Soup of the ', which happened to be tomato and basil and with a freshly baked bread roll and butter turned out to be most welcome. We followed that with latte coffee to finish. The waitress was polite and efficient.

The lardy cakes are fantastic really surgery and fatty also the small cakes that they do but have found lately that the pies are not like they used to be very expensive with not a lot in them what's happened to them hardly any filling

Stopped here for lunch on a day visit to Salisbury. Although the menu choices were quite limited the food is of a high quality and the service is prompt and efficient.

Good value for money. Had a sit down lunch upstairs with some friends for lunch. Service was good and food tasty, perfect for a lunch and chat during a shopping trip or something like that. Good range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc. I had the macaroni cheese.

Met up with elderly relative upstairs here. Good prompt service, friendly. Very nice tea & coffee. We sat & chatted for a very long time & they did not resent it at all.

A great local bakery which sells all things designed to ruin your healthy diet. Quality is great and their Wiltshire Pasties are a serious threat to the cuisine of Cornwall. Salisbury has several Reeves outlets but the one backing on to the Market has an upstairs diner which is great.A good place for na inexpensive meal.

Some of their baked goods are bit weird.the cheese and potato pies have some unusual orange liquid inside that is supposed to be the cheese and potato.most items taste like they are made with poor ingredients.usefully if you are starving,nice bread.

We love visiting Reeve and do so on a regular basis! Food is excellent, staff friendly and everything very good value. Really lovely place

Have use this place good few times for takeway food and it not cheap but food you get is worth it and hot as well the cakes are real nice and it you about def pop in and try for your self

We purchased focaccia/ciabattas and cake to eat out. The bakery was bustling but customers are served efficiently but very politely - they are usually willing to make up a particular sandwich if there are none available in the variety you want. Excellent pastries and cakes, as well as family cakes to take home (highly recommend toffee apple cake!). A regular haunt for us - in a city bursting with cafes this is our 'go to' choice. Highly recommended.

We popped into this local bakery that has several locations just to grab something for lunch the next day on the train. So many options of lovely meat or vegie pies and pasties!

We have been to the bakery's loads of times, sometimes we stop for a drink and sometimes we don't but what ever you want they nearly always have, if not there then in The outher bakery shop they have.

There is nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread and Reeve the Baker gives the very best selection of bread and rolls, cakes galore, snacks such as cheese straws, sausage rolls, pasties & drinks, you can find in Salisbury. With seating outside or upstairs there's a good view of the market square too. Speedy, friendly staff tempt you with little tasters on the counter that are irresistible!

We went for a quick take-away lunch and bought a sandwich from the fridge and a couple of baguettes from the counter, plus some cakes. A friend of mine wanted a different ciabatta from the ones displayed and they made it straight away. All was lovely and we enjoyed it sitting on the lawn outside the cathedral. The bread is much nicer here than in the large café chains, and the staff are very helpful.

We regularly visit Salisbury and nearly always pop in for something from Reeve's. I've never had something from there that I haven't like - and I am fussy! Staff always very helpful, if you can't see what you want just ask.

Brilliant bakery chain. All interesting produce and good family favourites. My grandson loves the cheese straws! Something for everyone and great value. Good for catering parties too.

Knew Reeves years ago for excellent bread and cakes. Went for breakfast and was not disappointed. We chose a large sourdough roll packed with at least 4 sausages, excellent value. Likewise we could have had bacon or eggs. Mouths watered over the best selection of bread pastries and cakes we have encountered this year. A great pity there are no Reeve's near us.Prices are reasonable and staff efficient and friendly.

Just went to this place and bought myself a cappuccino and a sandwich and juice and a sandwich for my 2year old. When I tried to sit on the tables outside a member of staff tells me I can't sit in there because is only for clients with food. I am sitting down in one of these stones in the middle of the market while is a costumer without food sitting in there... so not nice. I didn't know they make difference on people....

great little coffee shop, food reasonable but fantastic bakery serving great bread cakes pies. great to take home after your day out.

Die Schaufensterauslage und der herrliche Duft aus dieser Bäckerei, zog uns nahezu magnetisch an.Im 1. Obergeschoss ist das Café in welchem man am Tisch bedient wird. Es gab hier Stühle und Tische, ohne Besonderheiten oder einer tollen Aussicht.Ich nahm mir ein Prawns Sandwich und einen Red Berry Tea. Zusammen hat das 6,90£ gekostet. Tee wie auch das Sandwich waren geschmacklich super!

We have been using Reeve for over 20 years. Since our son was 7 and visited. He is now 29 and still visits. I rest my case.

Good food both in the upstairs cafe and the takeout. Lots of choice at reasonable prices. Very popular centre of town bakery best in Salisbury.

You only have to see the queues to know that this is an exceptional baker's shop. There are many delicacies on sale, manychoices for bread, rolls, cakes and snacks of all kinds.

Famous in Salisbury and surrounding areas for being the best bakery around, Reeves does a fantastic seasonal range, especially their mince pies. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It's great for a snack stop, to pick up treats for home or to sit down with a cup of tea upstairs. Just be careful- not all of the items on the counter are priced fairly- the cakes are usually flawless but the cold tray snacks such as the maltaeser bars are made from cheap-tasting chocolate and chocolate icing.

I love Reeves! The bread is good. The takeaway pizza, pasties etc are very nice. Upstairs is a nice cafe with nice coffee, pots of good tea & cakes.

Great range of bread, buns etc. I particularly like their organic baguette. Great range of filled rolls etc to eat in or take away.

Their bread and pastries cost a little more than average but the quality is obvious. Well worth the extra pennies! The staff are also friendly, even if they were working flat out.

What ever you want weather a snack or just bread and cakes this is the place to go. Always goo quality and fair price.

Really like the layout of the shop and presentation of the food. Staff smile, very helpful and quick. Nothing too much trouble. Lots of choice of food but need to watch the price as it is a take out and whilst the quality is good other shops have bakery and can be cheaper. Good central location

We often pop into reeves and love the bread here. However, they have recently put up the price. It is getting more and more expensive, whereas you can go into Co-op or Sainsbury's etc and get a good loaf of bread for much cheaper.

This place was recommended to us for coffee by our hosts at Cathedral View B&B (see separate review) because, like us, they prefer not to use the modern chains. We were not disappointedWe managed to get the one window table upstairs that looks out over the Market Square; great for people watching while having your coffee! The coffee was good and so were their toasted teacakes.We enjoyed it so much that we returned later in the day for afternoon tea and a warm cheese straw for my wife and a very naughty Belgian Bun for me.Very nice indeed.

Fresh brewed coffee after a long day of overnight travel was just perfect. Hot breads and cakes were scummy too. We ate in the upstairs part of the cafe which overlooked the town square and we could watch the town coming to life. Lovely place to meet with friends.

Very tasty, fresh, filled roll bought here for a late lunch yesterday - followed by an equally good Belgian bun! Very nice bakers' shop in the heart of the city: thoroughly recommended!

Stopped by for breakfast and to get some fresh bread. I had tea and the most delicious almond croissant, but I was a little jealous of my boyfriend's bacon&cheese rarebit, which came with crisps and salads (and it was delicious). The bread we got was fantastic too.

E-mailed them several days ago regarding quality of some of their cakes. As yet have not received any response, so won't be going there again when next in Salisbury.

Great bakery in the Market Square in Salisbury. Had double bacon sandwiches for lunch one day and scones and coffee for breakfast another. Bought a loaf of multi-grain bread to take home. Delicious all around! This is a regular stop for us when we're in Salisbury.

A good place to grab a very nice snack or cake, they are very good with a variety of pies, pasties, bacon or sausage cobs or pizza slices. As for the bakery side of the shop provide good tasty bread and rolls. No sitting area its takeaway snacks only.

Had the afternoon tea here one day, it was very nice and excellent value. This place is not plush but its good baked food and is suitable for children too.

I enjoy stopping here when I am in Salisbury, and I took my friends here to the cafe at the top for lunch once. There's bread in one section and another sells savoury foods and sweet foods (snacks and lunch).

We stopped here a few times both for a sit down cake and drink, plus takeaway snacks. Very nice selection of pastries and cakes.

It wasn't until I crossed the boarder into neighboring Hampshire and befriended some Andover locals that I realised Reeve the Baker exists exclusively in Wiltshire! It is a lovely little bakery chain, I'm pretty sure most of the stuff is baked on the premises. Recommend the tomato and bacon puff, any of the pizza slices or a cheeky cappuccino doughnut. The Salisbury bakery also has a little cafe upstairs serving sandwiches, or you can pick something from the bakery downstairs to eat.

Exactly the same as big reeves however it lives up to its name and is quicker. Would recommend over the larger reeves in the square
